I had taken a datacard for my laptop for use in Singapore. It did not connect in spite of following all instructions. Several calls from Singapore to their customer care centre met with response of leave your number, our person will call back. I gave my Chennai number that roams international. No one called in spite of several reminders.
On coming back, I gave them a complaint with full details of error message etc. No response. Reminders. Ignored.
But promptly they have generated a bill for Rs 1,776/- for a service that did not work even for a second.
Common sense says that this is a massive racket.
The Airports Authority allows this company to aggressively canvas business international passengers inside the Chennai Airport, at a location after immigration also. This is to say the least, a shame!
If any good lawyers can advise how to tackle this public menace of snaring international passengers under the garb of a respectable location. Has to be stopped!!

I took an international roaming SIM card from M/S Matrix International for a recent trip to USA during 17-23 July, 2011. Following were the clauses of contract:
    1. Card will become active on 17th July, 2011.
    2. I will get 150minutes of free incoming calls against a payment of 15US dollars.
    3. Other outgoing calls from phone will be on actuals,

I reached Seattle via Paris on 17th July at about 3.00PM. I tried to reach home by phone. But I could not as SIM provided by M/S Matrix International failed to register on to AT & T network (service providers for Matrix in USA). Around 7.00PM the SIM could register just for about an hour or so. After that again it showed failure to registers. I immediately sent an email to customer support service of Matrix. I just received an auto generated reply. Next two days (18-19th July) the SIM did not work at all. My relatives who got in touch with Kanpur representative were told that complaint would be attended immediately. But nothing happened. SIM started work from 20th onwards intermittently, So I was completely deprived of the facility to used incoming free calls.

After coming back I wrote several emails to both customer support service and Kanpur representative and even talked to the latter on several occasion, The Kanpur representative assured me that the part of the fixed charges would be reversed. But the company refused to do that. Not only they charged me US$15 and deducted the same from my credit card, to day again they have sent a bill for recurring charge of Rs. 8.57. I am at a loss and feel like being robbed in broad daylight by the company. Kindly help.

Mind my subject line. I request you to think many times before going with Matrix service.

I had taken a matrix phone(Account code: 401263) before going to US trip along with my friend. While giving the connection they promised that before reaching to US your phone will be activated. After reaching to US we were struggling to get network. Almost after 8 days we got connection up. During these 8 days we continuously tried to call Matrix support team(Though it was ISD call for us). Finally after long time it got activated.

Now for billing part, I have asked Matrix to send the representative to my office address to collect outstanding bill amount. But no one has come yet and every month they are increasing the bill amount. I am planning to take this case in consumer court and even in Govt of India grievance department.

I am including the part of mail sent to Matrix here:
      "
I had a given a cheque for 10000/- earlier which was dishonored by CitiBank. Mr. Kumaravelu (from Matrix) told me that CitiBank clearly conveyed him that my account didn't have sufficient funds. I had spoken to Mr.Kumaravelu immediately after coming back from US (a week back), and requested him to send me the cheque and such communication he received from CitiBank. As that is a 'false statement' by CitiBank, I would like to take that up with CitiBank.

I am still waiting for Mr.Kumaravelu's response on this. As soon as I receive this, I will send the Cheque for the below mentioned amount.

As that 10000/- is for me and Rajiv Ranjan (Account Code: 401263, Amount: 2074), we will be paying together, as soon as we receive the returned cheque and the reason given by CitiBank for returning.
      "

So, please think twice before going with Matrix service.

I picked up a Thailand SIM (Mob.No.+[protected] from ur Bangalore Sales Exec Ms.Shiva (Mob no.[protected]) on 17/08/11. After giving me that SIM and leaving my office she called me back requesting me to take another SIM as she had promised her boss that she would sell 2 connections. When I told her that i do not need 2, she said she would pay the Rs.500/- for the card on my behalf. But I did agree to take it (Mob No. +[protected] and asked her to charge both SIMs on my Credit Card. She then promised me that both the SIMs will be activated when I land in Bangkok on the 26th Aug'11.

I left for Thailand on the 26th and when i landed in Bangkok, I switched on both the numbers and only the 1st SIM was working. So I called Ms.Shiva from Bangkok (my first forced call) to inform her that the 2nd SIM was not yet activated and again she promised me that it would be done by the next day morning which ofcourse was not the case till the end of my trip on the 3rd Sep'11. She didn't even have the courtesy to call (as the customers have free incoming) to enquire if the 2nd SIM was activated or not.

The main aspect of running a Services company is the PR involved. Atleast she should have called on my return (the return date is mentioned on your Customer Agreement Form) to enquire or apologise for the shabby service from Matrix as she was my only contact with Matrix until then.

Then when ur collections exec. came on Tuesday the 6th Sep'11 to collect the SIMs, I called her to give my feedback and as what my further actions would be on the subject and she said that she had sent a mail to the Connection Dept regarding the issue and that was the end of her duties. Ms.Shiva then offered to pay the Rs.500/- to cover for my loss as though her Rs.500/- was of great financial need to me.
Ms.Shiva then put me on to her senior who echoed the same view as her subordinate . When I went to Thailand I realised that I could have taken a SIM at the Bangkok airport and saved so much more with lesser problems. Their call rates are 3 THB per minute to India and 1 THB to the US.

I work in a Service Providing company and I wouldn’t dare not call back my client to ask for feedback as we grow mainly by word of mouth and mind you that spreads quickly.
This complaint will be very shortly put up on the Consumer Forum to advice people on the perils of taking a Matrix SIM and also to advice them of available options at the airports in every country they travel. I have already forwarded this to my friends and family who travel a lot and hope to alert the general public through the Consumer Forum

        Nikhil Baliga.

            Dear Sir,

We have corporate mobile connections of Vodafone through Matrix Cellular Services & we wanted to port out these services to other network. We had made all the outstanding payments also, ensuring no problems to be faced from their side while porting out. However they are delaying the process on false and baseless statements and not even replying to our mails. We have been pursuing this issue for the past 15 days, but still awaiting response. We would humbly request you to pls look into the matter.

This complaint against Matrix cellular comes with a warning towards the services provided by them which undoubtedly includes their faulty billing procedures.
              To sum up the situation:
              1. I took a card from Matrix cellular services at the airport before I left for US. I was told the rental is 30 dollar plan ( I see 31 dollars cut in the bill - the matter is not about the single dollar, it is about the accuracy of their T&C.). Later another employee from Matrix (Mr. Shivam Verma), confirms that ‘since my trip was for 31 days hence the rental has been charged of 31 Dollars’ – To this I wanted to add that I My trip was for 31 days but it took a couple of days and reminder mails for their service to get activated. I hope they considered this before they counted on the rental.
              2. I also informed the service provider in between that I have got a number from my office in US and will not be using this number, reassuring that the bill I expect will not cross my estimate and - When I am back - I receive a bill of 16417.03 INR, after reiterating to any agent I talk that please provide me the bill and then you can collect the sim card.
              3. Now that the bill came up, it was with many blunders – to mention a few:
              a) There are discrepancies in the column 'International Text' – I have been charged 4 times for a single message that went on the same time. I wonder which skill made me send a single message four times at the same time. I rechecked in my mobile – it shows a single outgoing message at that time! – I still have this on my mobile for any reference.
              b) I have not used any data services and have been charged 9473.76 INR
              c) I needed clarification on their terminology o[censored]sing the term 'Local' for international calls and none of their representatives could respond to my queries - to name them- Mr. Abhishek, Mr Ranjit, Ms. Yogita, Mr. Siddharth...and of course later an encounter with Ms. Sangita from Allahabad office followed by Mr. Shivam.
I have therefore been pestering in very polite terms that 'I NEED CLARIFICATION AND ONLY THEN WILL I PAY THE AMOUNT!' I do not know which language their service operates with, that none of their employees could understand my query. And I see that an amount of 10000 INR, transferred for my requirement for some other purpose has been swiped by Matrix without even bothering to respond/clarify my questions. Then I receive a message on my mobile saying that I can destroy the card and no one would collect it from me... OK!! post this I get a call from Ms. Sangita for the remaining amount and told that - 'PLEASE PAY THE REMAINING AMOUNT OF 6,417 INR AND THE 10000INR DEDUCTED FROM YOUR CARD WILL BE PUT BACK IN THE ACCOUNT'. Which they point blank deny of even talking to me. Then some Mr. Shivam mails saying ‘Amount of Rs10000/- can only be refunded, once we receive the full payment of Rs16417.03/- Kindly provide us with the suitable date and time-frame so that we can call you on your mobile in order to resolve your billing queries’. I provided my number and time to call..its been a month now and I am still waiting for a resolution…please do not be the next one and be wary of the name ‘MATRIX CELLULAR INTERNATIONAL SERVICES PVT. LTD.’
I have had a very similar problem with Matrix. Charged for "premium services" without any explanation as to what the services allegedly used are.
I got charged Rs 5000 which was taken without authorisation from my credit card AFTER they assured me that the amount will be taken only after my complaint is addressed
It is now 8 weeks since I first complained. The only answer I have got to date is that : The service provider has charged us, so we have charged you. No details as to who the service provider is and how or why I could or would call the same number a second time during the time I was on a call that number!!! Even though the charges are Rs 10k per hour, they still havent been able to tell me what service it is!!!

I stopped trying the helpline. They pick up the first time and as soon as you tell them you have a billing complaint, you are put on hold and nothing happens. After that, each time I call, I have only paid to listen to music...

I have now corresponded with about 15 people, besides having spoken to about 6, including most of the names you mentioned.

I think the only way is to take them to Consumer Court and TRAI.
I can completely understand what you are going through... i have been following but no resolution till dat.. i am scared to put any amoount in my credit card as they might swipe in the remaining unexplained amount... i spoke to a person by name shivam and he mentioned to me that they will reimburse the amount for the chage on messages reflecting in the bill and would clarify further details...but then just a mail followed saying the bill is confirmed to be genuine and i will have to pay the amount...i do not understand how to tell them that I need an explaination before i pay the amount... They are a BIG PAIN!!!

I am willing to go to any extent to get these fellows sued!
I am going to take them to TRAI and then to consumer court after I am back. Travelling at the moment - no Matrix this time!!
!I think they just expect customers to get used to the thought that they have been overcharged, get tired following up and drop the case. I am going to take them on... hate being taken for a ride, , ,

I just got a mail saying that they have no idea what the charges are for and that they havent asked their partner!!! This in spite of two months followup as to what the charges are for!!!

Re your card: Just cancel it and get another from your service provider- t
I got a mail from them today that states they have clarified the bill to me and also claim that i have been behind them for clarification which I HAVE TO till i get a resolution..they also claim to fwd it to their legal dept... i have told them to go ahead as i am also bent upon not to take this as is.. I am with you and would like to take them on till any extent...let me know once you are back and we can take it from there...they badly need to be taught a lesson...
ok, sounds good... will be in touch

I received a bill of Rs 1010/- on 18.06.2011 which I paid through my icici bank credit card on 21.06.2011. However on 30.07.2011 I again received a bill from Matrix Cellular claiming of Rs. 781.04 for same 07.06.2011-09.06.2011 period. This amount ( Rs 781.04) got deducted from my credit card automatically on 01.08.2011. It is not clear what are these charges for, since I have already paid all charges in month of Jun'11. Pls look into the matter.

Please note that the refund was paid in time, it was also informed by the representative: Nihar: [protected], that refund may take upto 25 days after returning the card.
The claim seems to eb baseless and without any logic.

I have taken Matrix cellular connection for 2 months usage in Holland. 1st month billing was fine. I dont have problems. I came back to India on 18th Jun Midnight. I have surrendered the SIM Card on 22nd(Due to some processing delay from their end). I haven't received any bill for the second month etc.(Note: the rent for the 2 months was already taken in the initial billing cycle).

All of a sudden after a month, I received a bill for INR 197.51 on Jul 19th. The same amount is also deducted from my credit card.

When I checked the bill, I was changed for 124.61 as DATA CHARGES which in I never used INTERNET using Matrix. The amount was changed on the date I was heading back to India and there was no time stamp mentioned. Its displayed as (00:00:00)

When I contacted the customer care, they have registered a complaint and said will get back to me tomorrow. Which didn't happen. So I gave them a call to get the status. It was good experience for me, I felt as if I was speaking to the automated recorded voice system. What ever you say, they repeated say that the information provided in the bill is valid and this is bill which we received from HOST(Contract between TMobile and Matrix) .

More-than the worthiness of amount that I am planning to claim legally out of this, I am really frustrated and wondering how other customers would have felt. After reading thru all the complaints lodged on this website about Matrix Cellular, its clear that they are a bogus company and unfit for running business.

                      Address: Central Delhi, Delhi

I came to US 2 months back. My biggest mistake was to take a Matrix sim card from Dehi Airport. I just wanted to use it for one week and their executive had told me that it wont cost more than $15 and some minor service charge. No more than Rs. 1500 in all.

I was sent a bill of Rs. 13,956 for 2 weeks o[censored]sage. They claim that I have used DATA Services worth 13,000. They charged me for GPRS service which I never used. The bill was like 4kb or 2kb for Rs. 185/unit.

THEY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD WITHOUT MY PERMISSION FOR FULL RS. 13000

After repeated mails, they gave me a discount and told me that I have to still pay Rs.7,000.

I raised the issue with their Customer Operations Head - Vikas Gupta - No use

Then I wrote to their CEO Arun Batra - he is a stubborn guy who does not care for his customers. It was like banging my head against the wall.

I am going to take up this matter legally and fight this matter.

They are fleecing customers and should be punished.

                      Dear Sir

Sincere apologies for the inconvenince caused . Please share your account details so we can resolve your issue at the earliest

                      Thanks
                      Dear Mr. Arora,

Thank you for your feedback . Please find below our response :

                      1. The billing has been done basis your usage and the tariff plan selected by you – ATT15wh0410A

                      2. The usage billed to you for your Matrix connection is correct and validated & done through our network partner (AT&T) which is one of the leading & reliable service provider in the USA
                      3. As discussed regarding the GPRS being active on the SIM card provided – this is explicitly mentioned in the “Customer Undertaking” section on the Customer Agreement Form. We understand the importance of this detail, and hence have covered this aspect for the clarity of the users
                      4. We understand that you might have been in hurry while purchasing this connection at our airport counter. But a copy of the Customer Agreement Form was provided so that all important Information can be read at your convenience
                      5. While the billing done was absolutely correct, understanding you had inadvertently used our connection for data usage and had to bear this expense, we offered a discount on data usage.
which did not even cover our cost

                      6. The goodwill gesture was extended for a amicable closure of the issue however the demand was raised by you for further reduction of charges which was not possible considering the above. Sir if you still feel that the goodwill gesture offered is not appropriate, we would like to withdraw the same, and revert to the actual billing for your connection.

If you have any further queries please feel free to contact me on +91 [protected] . We look forward to your response and would be more than willing to explain any more details required by you for the same.
Withdraw your gesture ..??? You people have charged the card without permission.

I'm also going to write to all your partners and send them the document as well. The 13000 rupees charged to me will turn out to be more expensive for your company.
I am also currently undergoing a problem with this fraudulent company. I took a datacard for my laptop from Chennai International Airport on my way to Singapore. The datacard did not work - in fact, it failed to get connected. I called their customer service from Singapore and it was a mere waste of time and money because every person picking up assured me that their service people will call back on my Chennai number which has international roaming. But no one called.

On coming back to India, I send them a complaint giving all the error message etc. There was no response to repeated reminders.

But the cheats that they are, they promptly have generated a bill for Rs 1, 776/- for a card that did not work even for a second.

Only saving grace was that I could block my credit card from being used because I sensed that these people would just use it without permission. They tried but I was faster.

And it is a shame that these kind of fraudulent companies are allowed to aggressively canvas customers inside international airports, that too after all immigration counter etc.
I totally agree with many views on Matrix ripping off travellers with their sim cards. I think the company is able to advertise so heavily as they are stealing money from customers without offering service. there are so many other cards available in the market which are far better than Matrix. I was promised 100 minutes free local calls in the US. My sim stopped working after 3 days but still I was billied an additional 15 usd. Matrix sucks, travellers beware
First, I must say that I had extremely bad experience with Matrix and I have no doubts saying that Matrix is FRAUD. I used Matrix SIM card for Finland and Sweden. Customer Name: Mr. Siddhartha Pratim Saikia CAF No: M 1801517 Account Code: 480305.

I have been charged FALSE for calls worth Rs 4519.28 as per the details below:

                      Roaming-Voice 00:07:17 56.40 4, 519.28
                      09/10/11 11:17:33 [protected] Roaming Call Finland 00:02:39 21.15 1, 694.75
                      09/10/11 12:05:31 [protected] Roaming Call Finland 00:04:38 35.25 2, 824.53

I called the same number few times. When I called the above number from Sweden, I was charged Rs 156.25. HOW CAN THE SAME CALL BE CHARGED RS 4519.28 FROM FINLAND? My SIM was valid for both FINLAND and SWEDEN.

Under any circumstances, I will not pat these FALSE charges. I want Matrix to revert RS 4519.28 to my credit card immediately. Else, I WILL TAKE THE MATTER TO CHAIRMAN OF TELECOM REGULATORY AUTHORITY OF INDIA (TRAI) and TELECOM MINISTRY.

I WANT MY MONEY BACK IMMEDIATELY.
I had taken Matrix data to US card service with plan of free usage of 1 GB for 15 days . I was shocked to see the bill of Rs 58925.30 sent by Matrix and which is inflated bill as my usage is not upto that limit. As I had free wi fi in the hotel, where I was staying, I hardly used matrix data card. In the bill it shows the usage of 1.8 GB, out of which 1 GB was my limit, but Matrix has charged for whole 1.8 GB. How can it be 58000 for such as small usage..? The amount is just unbeleivable for not using even a minimum usage. The highly exorbitant amounts have shocked me. The represenattive with whom I had interaction is also not responding to my calls. Also I do not understand the varied amount of billing amounts sent to me. After seeing so many complaints against the company it comes to my knowledge that the company has been literally looting people, from the previous complaints. beware of this company.. I sincere request to all international traveller not to get fooled by opt to use MATRIX Sim & Data card...
We had taken a connection from Matrix for Data plan for international trip to US.

we had taken a 2GB plan for data usage on i-pad. We were very clear we wont use the service on completion of 2GB and we had communicated this to the person Ankit jain who was representing Matrix and was a point of contact from matrix to us. We had requested them to inform us immediately when we are crossing 2GB and also disconnect it once we reach 2GB however they told us they cant disconnect but they will inform us when we are nearing 2GB.

They very much contacted us to inform us the same through email however they also very clearly told that if we use any data further we would be charged $10 per evevry 1 GB. Backing on which we decided to use it further. however in the bills they have charged us so heavily, as per the bill the extra usage is 3GB and the total bill amount charged is 200000 approx. This is very shocking and we need someone to look into this matter asap. its for the matrix number [protected].

my contact id is [protected]@gmail.com and the contact number [protected].
Matrix cellular is complete cheat. Not worth rating and don't even deserve rating of 1.

They sold the card with fancy plan and I was already received of huge deposit amount at the time of sign up Rs7500. There is no alert or notification of exceeding the limit, overcharging and unfair billing leading to Rs12000+ I am now threatned by these guys for legal action and I am prepared to face this and kept all proofs properly to fight the battle.

This company should be banned...Please stay away from these folks.
Never evey thing to buying Matrix...specially when travelling to UK

4 hour of extrausage was equal to 12000/- according to matrix.
Inspite of have the rate of .09 pound per minuts...

It was my biggest mistake to carry matrix..
Just see the Employee Attrition Rate in this fraud company. no employee work here for more than two months in their sales deptt.
It is with total disgust that I am writing this post and also mailing to matrix cellular.
In spite of repeated promises and mail (dated 24th April) from Mr Gaurav Singhal (Assistant Manager Sales, Matrix) that my USA phone usage bills being reversed, and will take 7-10 working days, my phone bills have not being reversed till today!!
I had been wrongly charged through my credit card inspite of me mentioning that i will pay my bills in cash, and have already paid it.

Its its been more than two months that bills have not being reversed from my credit card, despite my repeated phone calls to you.
I have got detailed phone calls records of my telephonic conversation with Mr Gaurav Singhal (Assistant Manager - Channel Sales, Matrix cellular), having me calling him up every fortnight or so since 24th April that the reversal of my bills have not being done and being reassured that it is being done in next 72 hours.

On top of that now I am receiving mails and phone calls from Citibank regarding non payment of dues with late fees charges imposed on me.
Moreover, I have been getting several calls, sms, mails from my citibank, asking me why am I not submitting my bills to them. This is not only embarrassing, but also harassing. And all this without any fault of mine.

This is not only absurd but also insulting. I have been mentally harassed by behavior and dealings of your representatives..

I request matrix customer support cell (if it exists!!) to look in this matter at earliest, and solve it. I will not deposit any dues to citibank, arising from matrix including late fees, as they should have been taken care by your company in first place itself.

I have been using services of your company for last dozen of my visits abroad in last couple of years, but this time the services been given and behavior of your company's representatives leave a lot to be desired!! And on top of that now your representatives have resorted to what is not any less than cheating to customer.

I accept to all you people complaints on matrix...These fellows don't know how to make money.

In hyderabad aiport promised me that they will charge just 100 rs from my credit card, remaining bill will be send to billing address.before sending bill only without my permission they deducted from credit card...even there is no response from those people...

making public that we will raise complaint on you..if you ask me being an customers we need to raise complaint on those people on this corruption
                      Totally disgusted with Matrix Cellular

They are the biggest Frauds and bang your head against wall in case you are expecting any support or response.

Matrix company is a bunch of non responsive, illiterates. I am under a debt of Rs 37000 because of automatic messages which went from my international sim card. Out of Rs. 37000 my actual usage was less than even a 1000 Rs and and international texts were for around Rs. 36000. I dont even need to mention that this is an issue but from last one month i am fighting and wrote to many people in matrix with no response. TOTALLY DISGUSTED

I request everyone not to use Matrix services, find any other alternative but not matrix cards. This company should die.

                      Rahul
Wow, I thought I was the only one who suffered. Under the new Companies act, 2013 we are now in a position to take class action against a company in India. Very generally speaking, a class action is a lawsuit that allows a large number of people with a common interest in a matter to sue or be sued as a group. I will write to each one of you and see if we can do something to take strict action against this company.

You could also write to me on pillay.[protected]@gmail.com

Plus I just noticed that Matrix is not even regulated by TRAI which is strange.

                        Address: Bangalore, Karnataka

My wife had taken a SIM card from Matrix for a trip to Germany for ten days

On her return I was shocked to find that of the total bill of Rs 7200, more than 95% (about 6800) was billed under the head "Other- Premium Services". I disputed the bill but despite assurances that payment need be made only after the matter was resolved, the amount was taken from the blocked amount that had been given on taking the connection.

It took me many phone calls to get any response from the Matrix people, each one giving me one excuse or the other stating that it was not his responsibility. Finally I was told to email [protected]@Matrix.in. who promised to check and revert in a weeks time.
After 3 weeks and many reminders I got a standard letter stating that:

"We wish to inform you that as we have checked your usage from with our billing department and all the charges usage are genuine and made by you."

It does not even make sense!!!!
What is USAGE FROM WITH (sic) OUR BILLING DEPARTMENT supposed to mean??? And do they mean by ALL THE CHARGES USAGE (sic) ARE GENUINE AND MADE BY YOU?
Like telling you - I looked at the bill I raised and inform you that I raised the bill, so it is genuine!!!

No details of what services were used - no explanation on why the times for the services overlapped, no details about the enquiry or anything. And no details given about their TRAI registration or nodal officer for handling customer complaints

Has anyone taken Matrix to the Consumer Court? Or complained to TRAI?

                          Hi -

I went to Singapore for a 10 day trip and got Matrix. When this guy came to deliver the SIM, he specifically told me that all TOLL FREE number in Singapore is free.

When I recieved the bill, it says 22000. And you know what they charged me 4k for Roaming, stating I went to Malaysia. And remaining 15k was for this toll free number.

I called the customer service and informed that I HAVENT TRAVELLED TO MALAYSIA and attached the copy of the plan which sales exective has given which didnt say that i will be charged for toll free number.

I have sent mail and they are coming up with a standard reply, stating it will be looking into. It is close to 15 days now and I havent got proper reply from them. It is very irritating and frustrating and now its been debited from my account.

Please let me know how to proceed? I need to file a complaint on them and this is absolutely fraud and money cheating.

                            Respected Sir/Mam,
I had purchased a sim card from MATRIX cellular from the airport before travelling from Australia(No.[protected].I was assured that 1. the sim will be activated in Australia and for Australia use only
2.validity is for the period of travel 2nd to 8 th june
3.they assured me to use the credit card for bill payment and blocked Rs.5000/- for security reasons.
4.and if overused it will be deactivated
And now my bill for travelling time is Rs.2541 and for India use is (which i do not know what are they charging for) is Rs.6756
I called the customer care (there supervisor named FARHAN from Allahabad and they do not have any proper explanation of my questions
1.Why is the sim still working after the validity?
2.Why was it not deactivated after it the bill was reaching the limit?
3.Now there is no procedure to deactivate the sim and they are saying me to courier the sim to them at my expense and headache as they do not have any pickup service in my area because now they are telling me that is should have returned the sim to them(Who does that and why should i do that?)
4.There customer care said that they will charged Rs.750 to deactivate the sim which they do not want to spend.
So what should i do?As my CREDIT CARD no. is with them and they can choose to use it at there wish because the use of this card was only valid for the travel period. What should i do against this bogus white collar frauds.(Don`t buy there sim cards if you have to do not use credit card they cause a lot of mental harasment)
Please help me I want to go to the extent i can to reveal the truth about this company .

I am an employee of an IT firm in Mumbai. Recently for a trip to the US i took a Matrix Cellular SIM card . The marketing person promised a corporate plan.

To my horror i ended up receiving a bill of Rs 7000. There were some charges like data usage for which i had not subscibed or utlilized. Repeated complaints to the billing department did not yield any results.

The most crooked part of this deal is they take your credit card information and charge it numerous time. I even got a follow on bill of Rs 300.

This is most pathetic and company and started just to rob money from the users. they have setup systems like that. I had taken a card for USA and they swiped my credit card saying as the security of the sim card. then they charged double the amount on my card and when i called they said one more bill is awaited.
The agony doesn't end here. i raised the complaint and the call center gave me the complaint number (SU[protected] with assurance of a call back.
best part comes here when i call them on call center and dial 3 for billing department the person there says we are not in billing and will arrange for call back. for last three days i am trying but no call back. what the @#$% is the call center for. just for selling product and be-fooling some more janta.

I had taken Matrix Cellular services arranged through my office for one month travel to US. Since there were multiple tariff plans ($30 rental & $60 rental), had communicated to the sales person that a decision would be made after studying the rates applicable and on the day of travel for which he agreed to. One the day of travel, communicated to the sales person about my decision of $60 rental scheme since it had 600 mins incoming/outgoing minutes free. However, after returning to India a month later, found out that the sales person has not updated the system and the company has billed me according to $30 rental scheme because of which I incurred a loss of over Rs.7000/-. The sales person has not even bothered to call and discuss the issue whereas the billing department is adamant on their stand.

Kindly beware of the verbal commitments made by Matrix Sales team while making a sale.

                                  Dear Sir,

I am being charged some thing like Rs. 5400 for GPRS services which never worked and never used by me. I did not even know the GPRS services or settings and never even made an attempt to access any of these services. GPRS is a value-added service and I never asked for any of these value added services. I just wanted basic voice services in the USA.

I am reproducing below my communication with Matrix to resolve the problem. They have already deducted this amount using the credit card details they collected at the time of signing the contract and have stopped responding to my complaints. This amounts to cheating on the part of Matrix and I was not expecting such a behavior from them.

                                  Dear Ms. Pandey,

If I am saying that I have not used any data services, I am definitely not lying. I am sure you may have a large client base of all types, but I do not need to lie for some thing as small as this. If you look at the usage pattern, it is clear that no one could have used any data service at such regular intervals, with an exact amount every time. I would also like to know which websites I visited or what data I accessed as my blackberry services were inactive and I never tried to access any website.

GPRS is a value added service and you should have activated it only on my instructions. I only asked for basic voice services and you had no business to provide me what I did not ask for and then charge for it. I was using a Blackberry phone with this SIM card and Blackberry's are programmed to connect at regular intervals. Your service provider is charging for every Blackberry attempt to connect to data services, even if it was unsuccessful. For activating the GPRS, I need to be provided some settings and I never even knew what these settings were as I never called your customer service for any of these settings.

I would like to know what data I downloaded or which web sites I visited. I am going to take this up further as this amounts to an unprofessional practice on the part of Matrix which every one should know about.

                                  regards,

Actually, I wanted to use the Blackberry services on my phone (since I had a Blackberry phone), but your person at the airport said that I need to subscribe for these services. Since I am traveling for a short period I decided not to do so. I used the Sim card in a Blackberry, but I never made any effort to set up my phone for accessing the data services and these services never worked. I completely fail to understand why am I paying for a service which has been denied to me and which I never used ? This is just not correct on the part of Matrix.

                                    Dear Sir,

I had taken a Matrix SIM from IGI, Terminal3, N Delhi on 13th Dec 2010 for my stay in Germany of one week. I paid Rs. 5000/- from my Deutsche Bank Debit Card as security amount (please note the amount got debited from my savings account). I returned to India from Germany on 19th Dec and the SIM was collected back by Matrix's personnel on 6th Jan, 2011. In the meantime, I received two bills for the usage of SIM in Germany which I paid by two separate cheques.
After paying the bills, I contacted customer care several times for the refund of the security amount, but no satisfactory action was taken. Later I was given the contact no. of the person, Ms. Leena, who was on duty at the Matrix counter at T3 when I had taken the SIM. She assured me that she will contact the accounts dept and get the matter sorted out. I followed-up with her several times and she always assured that the matter would be resolved shortly.
Now, after few months have already passed and the matter is still unresolved. May I request you to kindly look into the matter and get it resolved.

I had taken a Matrix Sim Card to USA. i received a very weak signal for the first hour and then the card was searching for signal all the time and I could not use it. I had to pay 15000 Rupees on my phone bill because of this card not working. This has happened for the seccond time. The same thing happened lat May when a Matrix sim did not woork in Hong Kong. I need an answer urgently. I need to get my bill waived off and compensation for this recurrnet harrassment that I have had to face.

My Complaint is about their Sales Men Sanjeev Pandey, his phone number is [protected].

We bought 8 phone connections from his company M/S Matrix (Vodafone) on a condition and a promise that they will provide us One number of our choice which was [protected], He after checking from his company, confirmed us that the number will be provided to us and so we bought the 8 connections from them. I also got a confirmation call from their company about this number provided to us and will get activate in couple of days.

So I gave all my personal letter heads and visiting card into printing, now to my surprise the number they gave me is [protected] instead of the one confirmed to us, which has caused me nothing but embarrassment.

So their Modus Operandi is to get business any how, even by giving false promises(read Cheating) and or Misrepresentation.
Can Mr Gagan Duggal(M.D.) understand that this is very short and notorious way to get Rich, but will not give a good name to the company, hence will lose clients eventually and also lose their business.

                                        Dear Customer Care,

If you really want to help and concerned about it, then do it, what is stopping you.

Probably you just want to write nice thing on the wall and get away with it.

If you really care then issue me the number promised by your company reprenstative.

By the way my other number is almost as old as your company, which is [protected]. But looks like it is high time that I need to switch over to Airtel, cos this how you appreciated my loyalty to your company.
