Hi,
Matrix cellular is clearly a fraudulent company saying something and cheating later. The credit card is charged even after 2 months of surrendering the card after clearing the usage dues 2 months back.
Looks like a white collar fraud with no ethics and bad people who sell.

Credit card companies must give the option of selecting companies that we do not want our card to be charged by. Else there is no hold and we have to run behind frauds, begging, for no mistake of ours or run for legal help and sueing their .

    Hi All,

I had taken two connections from Matrix Service Provider since I was going out of country. Matrix took my credit card details for secuirty purpose and informed me that they will block my credit card limit with Rs. 5000/- I am contineously following up with the executive from whom I got the sim card regarding the bill. Matrix has not send the bill on my email account that I had informed them to do since they had sent the bill on my old billing address. I asked the people who are staying at that residence about any letter for me and they denied saying no communication from matrix. They handed over to me some letters that I was expecting but there were no mails from Matrix.
After couple of week of following up with the executive and even the customer service representative I got an sms from my Bank saying that a transaction of Rs.4675 and Rs.2254 are charged on my credit card. I immediately informed my bank that this transaction is not authorised by me. I want to stop the payment. Unfortunately the bank said that Matrix needs to reverse the charges.
I have still not received any communication from Matrix regarding the cell phone bill. I am upset and would like to complain regarding this fraudalent transaction done by Matrix.

    Regards,
    Sachin Shelatkar

I purchased a Matrix international SIM card bearing No. [protected] at International airport, New Delhi on 25th Jan'11. I used it till 8th Feb'11.

While buying the card, I got a confirmation from the sales person at Metrix outlet that, there won't be any charges, if we dial toll free numbers in US.

I paid $ 15 and 150mins. local incoming and outgoing call free in it.

When I was in US, I used calling cards to call Indian Numbers using local toll free numbers. Ideally there should be any charge, when we call toll free numbers.

When I received the bill, after I returned to India, I got a bill of Rs. 7231.22 and to my surprise all toll free numbers have been charged as local Nos.

Then I lodged the complaint with Matrix through their customer care on 23rd Feb'11. I got a confirmation from the executive that, by mistake the toll free numbers have been charged and the same amount will be reversed to my account. After 2 days when I called again on the status, the same person told me that the amount can not be reversed.

Request you to take up this as a formal complaint and instruct Matrix to return my money at the earliest.

        Regards and thanks,

Matrix service is bad, no proper response and they bill at their rules and thoughts.

You never get their response if you question them.

          Dear Sir/Madam,

We went to Srilanka on a visit for 3days (From 10-Feb-2011 To Date: 13-Feb-2011). Inside the airport some executives from Matrix Cellular (International) Services Pvt.. Ltd chased us and sold the roaming free SIM card for 500indian rupees. They gave us two SIM cards 1 is for free and they also said that the calls between these two numbers are also free, so we bought totally two cards for 500indian rupees. On flight we checked SMS and came to know that they have charged us 5000INR (instead of 500INR). Since we were in a hurry we failed to read the papers where they asked us to sign. Ofcourse its totally our mistake, we thought the stall is inside the airport (Chennai Airport) and they wont cheat us.

The story is not over yet, Since they have done these kind of Fraudulence. We have not even touched the SIM cards (Not opened it from the SIM Pouch (Zero Usage)).

Now they have sent us the bill for two SIM Card.
          Main Sim Card: 715.00INR
          Account Code: 369333

          Connection From Date: 10-Feb-2011
          Connection To Date: 13-Feb-2011

Totally i have to pay IND Rupees 880/-. This money is not a big deal,
but literally they have cheated us.
So beware of Matrix Cellular (International) Services Pvt.. Ltd.

          Note: Kindly take necessary action

Please note that Matrix is the postpaid mobile service and no one can sell it like prepaid. At the time of giving sim, Matrix doesn't take any money towards sim card. What they do is they block Rs.5000/- per sim on your credit card or take Rs.5000/- per sim as security deposit.

In this case Rs.500 which you are talking about is the rental per trip, They also have plan of Rs.25 per day rental plan. You need to check which plan they gave you.

This is clear example of sale wrongly done by the concern sales executive and you need to bring this to notice to the concern people in Matrix.

Next action for you should be to wright to [protected]@matrix.in and ask for detail call report for your mobile numbers and also talk to Matrix customer card at [protected] regarding the same.

The salesperson from Matrix came to my office to collect necessary documents before my trip to Thailand in January. I told him I was using an iphone, and was not sure of my data usage. I gave him sufficient details of my usage pattern and he misled me to chose a data plan which was not sufficient for my usage. On hindsight it seems it was done so that Matrix would be able to have maximum billing and value at my expense. I was shocked to find on return that Matrix has billed me more than INR 50000 bulk of which was for data usage. On contacting the company, their manager agreed that the sales person was not capable of suggesting a plan. He promised me that he would try to make amends by raising the matter with his seniors and by getting a refund from the same. He quoted a figure of approximate 15000 to 16000 for the same, and assured me that he would confirm the same within 2 days. After 3 days a consumer client called me and said that they are willing to offer INR 1000 of matrix voucher.

Various emails sent to the company over the last week has not been replied even once. The matter is still in dispute.
            Hi
I have been in a similar condition. Now i am actively working to get this company get its status of fraud company.I want to go to the extent i can against there unfair practice.I was surprised to know that i not the only one against the company.Let us think someways to correct this malpractice.I am in contact with some journalists to expose the truth about this fraud company.

I am mohit gupta, I have taken a matrix number +[protected] on 27/11/10 for my trip to Thailand. I have s huge problem with incoming calls, its like whenever I receive s call I pick it up but I don't get to hear anything.
I am submitting this complaint because this problem is persistent and occurs every time. I am still in Thailand, however I also fear exorbitant charges levied by this company later for their mishap.
I seek a resolution and I am hugely afraid to recommend this to anyone else on this planet.

In India, if any company should be banned for unfair trade practices then Matrix cellular may come first in the list. During my recent travel they have activated GPRS and without any use they have billed 60,000 for the same. Its hidden ! Its billed every 20 minute whether u use it or not ? Biggest fraud of the century !! they charge 24x7 for GPRS even if stationary and beauty is u will not know when it get activated !! complete faud !! Never use their service until emergency !! They will be the quickest to send a notice for payment from a lawyer. Most unfriendly business entity to customer! [protected]@gmail.com

                    Address: Pune, Maharashtra

I had been to USA from Aug’2008 till Oct’2008 and took a Matrix Cellular (International) Services Pvt. Ltd (mobile no. : [protected]). While planning for the trip I inquired with M/s Matrix about the overseas calling schemes, one Mr. Lizin Tom Kurion sales executive of Matrix Cellular (International) Services Pvt. Ltd (mobile no. : [protected]) visited my place and gave a very rosy picture about the service. While availing matrix number Matrix cellular (International) Services Pvt. Ltd. executive had explicitly assured me that all toll free numbers starting with either 800 or 8 (using any calling card in US) while dialing through this number would be free of charges since matrix number acts like a landline when used in conjunction with Reliance or Airtel sim card and toll free would not be charged.

However, against the bill for first month an amount of Rs. 9929.64/- was debited and arbitrarily withdrawn by the Matrix cellular (International). I enquired several time from matrix about charges for use of Toll FREE Numbers right through the use of their service but all the while, all of the executives of Matrix cellular (International) Services Pvt. Ltd kept on assuring me that TOLL FREE NUMBERS were free of charge and the erroneous bills if any would be settled upon my return.

However subsequent multiple amounts of Rs. 10000/-, Rs. 5000/- and Rs.2941.75/- were again debited to my credit card.

I AM ROYALLY CHEATED AS ALL THE WHILE EXECUTIVES FROM MATRIX CELLULAR VERBALLY RESPONDED THAT TOLL FREE NUMBERS WOULD NOT BE CHARGED AND YET THEY WERE ADDED INTO MY USAGE. THAT TOLL FREE NUMBERS WOULD BE CHARGED AND ARBITRARILY DEDUCT AMOUNT FROM CREDIT CARD. THIS CAUSED A HUGE INFLATION IN MY BILL TO RS. 30,000/- AND CONSEQUENT SUSPENSION OF MY CARD. FURTHER THE CHARGES WERE ARBITRARILY WITHDRAWN FROM MY CREDIT CARD IN A FRAUDULENT MANNER.

Harassments persisted further as Matrix Cellular did not respond to any of my dozens of communications during the period of Aug’2008 to Dec’2008 and instead banged a legal notice to me in April 2009. A reply from my end to this notice went unanswered until Aug’2010 when I received a call demanding my unpaid amounts…

                    I request that this type of practices have to be curbed and restrained as I have honestly tried on numerous occasions to ensure clearance of the issue with their executives with no avail. Since the MATRIX cellular (International) Services Pvt. Ltd have so far debited and illegally recovered an amount to the tune of Rs. 27870.64 which includes illegitimately charged Toll FREE numbers;

Matrix has to refund me the excess billed amount of Rs. 16218/- to me, The genuine bill according to the subscribed plan is only Rs. 11,652.31 Therefore I request you all to please take suitable action to refund the money to me by the MATRIX cellular (International) Services Pvt. Ltd that was charged in a fraudulent manner on my credit card – these include toll free numbers, call holding and such charges. The detailed bill is attached herewith.

I request that this case should be resolved at an earliest

I am Rajeev and I am genuinely sick of Matrix. Last week I went to Australia for 4 days on a business trip, and my bill was extremely inflated. I think that the money they spend on advertising is made by fleecing innocent customers like us. They are a bunch of robbers. I have had a relatively better experience with Clay Telecom - http://clay.co.in/landingpage.aspx . At least their bill was fine, and the network is great. I don’t know if they are the best, but they were better than Matrix. If anyone has had a similar experience, then do contact me at wanderlust.[protected]@gmail.com

                    Hi,

I am Santosh.2 months before I went to US for 3 weeks bussiness trip.I was carring a matrix card with number [protected]. When I came back I called one if the executive from Pune office more than 10 times to collect the card and to send me the detailed bill. But still yet I havent got the bill as well as they havent collected the card. Also they have withdrawn the money 2 times from my credit card.
Matrix pune office is full o[censored]seless employees.I have experienced third class service from them. They sucks.
I will never recocomend matrix. They are fraud.
Pune matrix makes fraud with your American express card.if you have ever given them your AX card, they will save the detail in their record andthey will block 100/-rs on it, and will put some fake doc just to complete there target.and after 3 to 4 days they will realize your amount back, but using your credit card is such a way can lead to some serious fraud as well,
                    Be aware of them,

I purchased matrix services of 39.99$ of tariff while going to US by giving 5000rs as security, passport copy and credit card details as security..
In the first month they charged me with a bill of 40,000/ without giving any bill and debited from my credit card without permission.. I left with overdue in my credit card of 5000rs.
When I called Customer care to stop their services, they told we have two years of contract which they never mentioned before.
Firstly, Most of calls were incoming which they never mentioned that incoming were never free...
Secondly, they never told us about two years of contract.
Thirdly, without giving bills to my email -id. They accused me to do fraudulent with company.
Lastly, they debited from my credit card which I gave security without my permission. they never sent me any bill message on the phone.
Now they are calling to all my co-workers and friends that I have done fraud and they will be trouble by using abusive language and harassing them.
I will be filing case against misrepresentation of service and call rates in consumer court......
                      Dear customer
Pl let us know your account details, We will check details of your account and update you

                      Thanks
I think Matrix is notorious for this as far as billing is concerned. This is the very reason that they take consent of auto debiting your account with their bills and you can keep fighting it out in court. I have faced similar issues with them in all my international travel, be it the US, UK or Canada. I think its best to retain your India no. on roaming and buy a local calling card of the country that you are in. That way you are able to keep a track of your calls and restrict your spend.
                      Hi Friends,
                      Thanks for sharing

I have also once faced a similar situation Last week I went to Australia for 4 days on a business trip, and my bill was extremely inflated. I think that the money they spend on advertising is made by fleecing innocent customers like us. They are a bunch of robbers. I have had a relatively better experience with Clay Telecom

I have subscribed for an Intnl.Roaming Card with the above number for my daughter, Ms.Valluru Sailaja a couple of days ago. As soon as she left for US, the card became inactive with the problem still persisting . I request for an immediate solution of the problem.

                          Dear Sirs,

I have a grievance against Matrix Cellular and their services.

I went to Japan on 26th June, returning on 14th July.

Since Indian cell phones do not work in Japan, I took a connection from Matrix (cell no. [protected]) wherein they gave me a cell phone instrument and the sim card for use in Japan.

The billing was to be done subsequently. Hence it is a post paid connection. Matrix took an authorization to charge the call expenses to my credit card.

On returning, I was shocked to receive a total bill of Rs. 50,000 from Matrix for what I consider minimal usage of the cell phone, both voice and data. In fact, the major charges were for data usage. The extent of data usage could not be gauged at all and I have to rely on Matrix for determining the usage through their Japanese partner.

I need assistance in reducing the bill amount to reasonable levels.

                          True,

I was overcharged and without information for the usage charges .

They keep the billing cycle open even post closure .

I got a call from Matrix (Ms. Jaspreet) to enquire if I wanted a SIM card for my forthcoming visit to Japan in June 2010.

I took this Matrix SIM card for my visit and returned on the 2nd July. Since that evening I have been trying to contact this lady and he cell phone's switched off. I tried calling their "Customer Care", but their standard reply day after day is that "Ma'am, your SIM will be collected tomorrow". I have spoken to a gentleman names Nippun Grover on [protected] atleast on 4 occassions and he also promises to get this phone and SIM collected in 2 days.

Today their call center told me that I will get my 5000.00 back only in August?????
This is because their system did not generate a bill in July!!!!

Why should I wait? What if I delay their payments, would they not charge me a fee for delayed payment, how is this case different now when Matrix is on the receiving end?

I have been trying to get in touch with these since 2 weeks now, but without any luck of getting my money back.

If I dont get this resolved latest by 20th July, I shall be forced to move to the courts ..

                              Sir,

Few days back i have taken country international specific post paid cards from MATRIX CELLULAR SERVICES for australia and singapore and they given me two cards for the particlar countries .

After that they took photocopy of my credit card and block Rs.7500/- as initial security amount as there company policies.

After my visit to both the countries once they charged Rs.5662 from my credit card but again after few days they charged Rs.15662/- without any information even without any bill detail.

After this i called the representative (Asif)with whom i purchased the country specific cards i told him that i recieved the message from my bank in morning 06:42 AM that the company deduct the amount of Rs.15662/- from my card you just check how this mistake has been done he told me he will check the details & inform me later but there was no call from his side again i called him up and asked him how this stupid mistake has been done then he told me that u used the cards on singapore crusie there we have charged international roaming for the same i told him that i purchased country specific cards from your company how they are working in malaysia and indonesia and even if they are working in malaysia and indonesia you should give some kind of message that now you are using international roaming you have to pay international roaming charges as we see in our indian post paid or pre paid cards but there was nothing like that then he said i will ask from senior that any thing can been done but as i expected the answer was same from that side.

This they are completely making the fool of people.

So,i request only to wave off the extra amount they charged from me as they are naming with the name of international roaming charges.

i will be very thankfull to you

As i am salary paid person this amount is alot for me....

                              regards

I had the same problem. I took a matrix connection sometime in September and agreed to a tariff of 10 pounds + 5 pounds add on (where in i will get around 55 minutes free calls back to india). I made calls within the said duration. Moreover, it was told me that it is valid only for one month and now i wanna get it disconnected. But they are saying that i have to serve one month notice (this was not told me when i took the connection). Moreover, the 5 pounds top up was not added on to the billing coz of some fault of the sales person and all the calls that i made back to india were charged. This just got too annoying to me and in just a matter of 15 days (even thought i utilised only the said free duration time limit) i got a bill of around close to Rs 5000/-. The free calls were also not included in the billing. This is just damn ridiculous and pissing.

I have also faced the same issue. I am currently in Singapore on my business trip. I bought a sim from Matrix cellular. The representative (saurabh) did not give me the complete information about the tariff and the billing cycle. initially they blocked Rs 10000 instead of Rs 5000 as the security amount. I complaint them and they confirmed it will be done soon. they have not yet returned my amount and it had led my credit card go over limit. On 13th march they mailed me a bill of app Rs 33447 and asked me to pay the amount immediately or otherwise they will disconnect my number. I asked them to wait untill I come back. They finally disconnected my number. They even tried to charge my cc for this above mentioned amount whithout my authorization.

Kindly help as they have cheated many customer and I dont want to be one of them.

                                  Address: Chennai, Tamil Nadu

I had been to USA during May 2nd till May 16th of 2010 and took a Matrix Cellular phone(mobile no. : [protected]) . I had to attend official calls and hence used the DSNL Conference bridge which has toll free numbers worldwide.

All toll free numbers start with either 800 or 8 and I used it in US and Germany(In transit). I was shocked to see that the first month Rs. 3500/- was debited from my credit card account and the next month(June) an amount of Rs. 11,133/- was debited. When Matrix cellular was contacted they replied that toll free numbers are indeed charged local call charges and are also added in the free air minutes.

My credit card was photocopied and the amount of Rs. 11,133 was arbitrarily deducted and all I got was a text alert in my cell phone, they didn't bother to send me a detailed bill till I asked for one and redirected me to check their website.

I FEEL CHEATED AS THERE WAS NO INFORMATION FROM MATRIX CELLULAR THAT TOLL FREE NUMBERS WOULD BE CHARGED AND ARBITRARILY DEDUCT AMOUNT FROM CREDIT CARD.
I request that this type of practices have to be curbed and restrained as the hapless general public is caught unawares. Please take suitable action to refund the money that was charged on toll free numbers. The detailed bill is attached herewith.

                                  With Respects,

                                  Rangarajan Satyanarayanan

The communication with Matrix is down below:

                                  Dear Sir,

As per the telecom we had now, herewith we confirm the toll free numbers are chargeable as a local call(local airtime).

And also toll free nos are chargeable when we call up from any mobile and if in a local connection (landline) toll free numbers may be free.

                                  regards,
                                  solomon

Subject: MATRIX BILL - DISPUTE over charging of Toll free numbers

                                  Solomon,

As discussed over telecom please find the attached detailed statement of the calls made from Germany and US.

                                  My point of contention is

                                  1. Toll free numbers are included in the local free minutes
                                  2. Toll free numbers are charged local call rates from 7th (after local free minutes are expired). Toll free numbers should not be charged as the “called party pays” in US & Germany and there are no interconnect charges as Matrix has footprint over these countries.
                                  3. The local law in both countries and the TRAI also stipulates that the toll free numbers should not be charged (otherwise it cannot be called toll-free).

                                  Regards,

                                  Ranga

I was contacted by Harlene Rajput, an official from Matrix cellular who agreed to pay back the amout that was charged as toll free in USA. I received a cheque for Rs. 3460/- towards the same which I had realised and thank the prompt handling of my case by Matrix.

However there are two things which need to be taken care in future
                                  1. Toll free numbers are not to be charged and they should not be reduced in the free air time
                                  2. Toll free numbers from other countries also should remain toll free. For eg I called the toll free from Frankfurt Airport and the bill amount I recieved for a 36 min call was around Rs. 4000/-

                                  Regards,

                                  Ranga
I have also once faced a similar situation Last week I went to Australia for 4 days on a business trip, and my bill was extremely inflated. I think that the money they spend on advertising is made by fleecing innocent customers like us. They are a bunch of robbers. I have had a relatively better experience with Clay Telecom

I took a Matrix connection in october '09 for a month while I was travelling in Europe. The customer service agent came to my office and promptly did all the paper work and delivere the SIM. On my return from UK I had called up the customer service to have the sim card collected but I was told that I can retain it without a charge if I am travelling again to Europe. After receiving a new Bill on 31st December for Rs. 1538.8, I called up the customer service and I was told that the bill has been wrongly raised and it will be reversed within 40 days.
To my utter surprise I have received another bill of Rs. 5454.76 and my card has been charged for the same.
I have been following up with the company but with no results.

I am a student and doing my masters from United Kingdom. Before leaving India I took matrix sim card as they were promising very less call rates. But things were other way around as the local connections what my fellowmates are using are cheap comparatively.

Also I had given some voucher while taking connection which according to company agent was supposed to give me first three months waiver of rent. I did not get any such offer. The worst part is they took Rs. 5000 as security. Being a student I have to manage my expenses and I can not no longer use this connection.

So I want to register a complaint against matrix against wrong information and I want them to abandon this connection me refunnd my money.
