    Hi,

I took a matrix sim card for my recent trip to Australia and these guys are cheaters of the highest order. As against a rental of 999 , they charged me 3200 for my trip and my total bill came for 5500. Given that the purpose of the card was to save money, it clearly didt serve that. Their tariff structures are very opaque and there is no way to ratify it.

Please dont use their service. They are sophisticated thieves!

    Regards,
    Puneet

      Address: Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh

For my travel to Europe, I, Shreya Jain, resident of Flat #309, Apex Residency, Anand Nagar Colony, Khairatabad, Hyderabad had approached Matrix Cellular International Services Private Limited to buy an international SIM card. For my travel, I brought 2 SIM cards from Matrix the numbers of which are +[protected] and +[protected]. Upon signing of the agreement with Matrix, I was told and given the tariff cards that there was no fixed charge on the first number and a fixed charge of Rs. 200 for the second number. Upon receipt of the bill, I was charged Rs.737.69 for the first number and Rs.749.22 as the fixed charge for the second number. Upon reaching out to the customer care centre, they mentioned that they are looking into the matter and will get back to me. It has been over a month now and no one has reached out to me for the same. This is highly unacceptable from a Company of the size of Matrix and who has monopoly in international cellular services. I am not sure if I would ever be comfortable taking the services of Matrix ever again. Request someone to look into the matter and get a refund for the fixed charge I have been charged to my account. I can be reached out at +[protected] if anyone has any questions about it.

        Dear Sir / Madam,

I’d like to bring to your attention that Matrix Cellular Services has sent me a legal notice and has on several occasions threaten through phone calls.
I have been charged incorrectly and have written to them for proper clarification but the response received is not satisfactory.
To give you a background., I had taken their services for my official tour to Singapore from 5th Feb to 16th Feb 2012. The sales rep came to my office and just told me that the service is hassle free and I need not worry about the charges when calling India as its very cost effective. She didn’t explain anything about budget dialing etc..she said all you do is dial normally.

Matrix No. 90612864 CAF No. M1967834

Post my return, I was absolutely shocked to receive a bill of INR 9520.17
Infact my colleague, who travelled with me was on Intl roaming with Vodafone and his bill was similar to that of mine. So I fail to understand how can Matrix fleece customers by providing budget cellular services when infact they are charging customers twice for each call!! Yes, I have sat for over 4 hours to understand my bill and I realise that they’ve charged me twice for nearly all the calls I made, why should I pay International roaming and local charges.

Moreover, when I searched for similar issues online, I was amazed that like me, several other customers have had a horrendous time dealing with Matrix and that they’ve been charged wrongly.

I exchanged several emails for proper explanation and transparency and all they said was that this is how it is charged and that I didn’t used budget dialing services. I fail to understand their cryptic means of service. I refused to pay for the extra charges and told them that as per my calculation I owe them INR 2153.84.

On 15th Sep 2012, they sent me a legal notice by a legal firm called ‘Legal Knights Law Firm’ by an advocate Mr. Jaideep Singh Sethi. In all fairness, I am ready to pay what I owe them but why should I pay extra. I’m going through a lot of stress due to this and being a woman, they’ve seen this as an easy way of harassment. The support office call me time and again asking for payment, it’s more like threatening.

I appreciate if my case will be given a thought, I have copies of all the emails exchanged, the bill etc. My health has taken a toll and I largely blame Matrix Cellular for my current mental agony. All I wanted is a proper explanation, I have aging parents and shoulder a lot of responsibility. It’s tough for me as single woman to go through all the hardship. I just want fair justice. I work hard for my daily bread and can’t accept being cheated by an organisation that only claims big promises but delivers none.

        I’ll appreciate justice!

        Thank you

        Dear Sir/Mam,

I travelled to Singapore from 25th nov 2012 to 02nd dec 2012. So I needed a local a SIM card and data card during my visit in order to avoid any roaming charges on Indian card. My budget was around 2000 to 2500. And I came to know about a good local deals from matrix executives. A big mistake I heard to them!! A lady called Shivani came to my place. I informed her about my budget and she suggested me about this perfect plan according to her. The total bill of these two cards should not have been more than 5000 based on our discussion. But when I received the final bills, I was shocked to see it to be 52, 000/-. Its not a joke unfortunately! This is ridiculous with the fact that the Internet and Telephone connections have become very cheap these days, this amount could give me unlimited internet/mobile service for at least a year anywhere in this world. When I called customer care, they started claiming about the itemised bill that they had. This is a perfect example of professional cheating.

The way they have created the itemized bill does not make any sense. Just like Savita has mentioned above, all that Customer Card has said that this is how it is charged and that I didn’t used budget dialing services. Why dint their exective tell me about it when I had confirmed with the executive that my budget was not more than 2500. I fail to understand their cryptic means of service. I refuse to pay for the extra charges and told them that as per my calculation I owe them not more than[protected].

When I just opened up the consumer complaint forum, I was not surprised to see so many complaints against matrix (www.matrix.in) products and their services.

This is my official consumer complaint. I am ready to share all the information with the Indian Consumer Complaint team.

Someone really needs to take some serious action again Matrix for exploiting the peope with the misuse of technology and by misleading the people with their services/plans.

I took a matrix sim card for 7 days while travelling to thailand during
june 2012.The signal was only available for 1 day after which no service was provided by matrix. After my return to india matrix wanted the sim card returned. I told them that I need my security deposit back in order to return the sim card but they DID not return my deposit. After 1 month matrix sent me a bill for rs.2, 505 which I refused to pay because there was no service available except on the first day of my travel. On 19-sep (almost 3 months after the initial transaction) matrix debited rs.2, 505 from my citibank credit card without any authentication/Authorization from my side. When I called up citibank they said that if I have placed a "standing instruction" at the time of initial transaction the vendor is automatically allowed to debit any amount from my credit card with no authorization from me. The matter is currently under investigation by citibank credit card department but there is no way to roll-back the transaction.

refer to bills for Sept and Oct 08 wherei interest late payment and other charges have been shown. you are reminded that after my complaint about the bill of July'08 you waved off all the charges wrongly levied but you have again shown late fee and other charges when I did not use the card at all. Pl rectify the mistake under an intimation to me so that I start using the card as before. an early reply is solicited.

The same thing happened with me as well. I completely agree with your thoughts. These guys took the credit card stating that it's only for record purposes and charge their incorrect bills to the credit card! Request someone to take an action as soon as possible.
i have workd with matrix for a yr and this is the most common problem that customers have so i request you to take prepaid sim cards as soon as you land on that country;s airport its easy and simple its been taken care off in five mins thats what i have experienced at BKK airport or consult your travel agent for options they are more than 10 economic options available in the market as compared to matrix if you want to give your number to your n & D ones before flying abroad or the most economic option is to take a prepaid card at the airport.about your CITI bank charges if there is a discrepency in calculation you will get a refund i have processed many when i was there so please check your call details on the bill carefully and talk to them.there is absolutely no way to get your money back once its charged on your credit card because on the CAF there is a clause that you authorize them to charge your card, ask them for the billing cycle date for clarification.

As per the amount charged the matrix has charged a heavy amount for the Holland mobile. I had asked for a cheaper plan and these people misguided with plan of euro 2.79 per minute and a surcharge of euro 0.34.I was also not provided any free hand set. They have already taken a security of Rs.6000/- . They had kept many things facts hidden. if the call charges exceeded more than the security deposit why didn't the call get disconnected. Sir I am not the only victim of these kind of fooling service, but there are many other people who are victimized. As I am a student the govt of India had sent me on duty. How will I afford this heavy amount imposed blindly by these guys.I request you to take necessary actions so that many customers, consumers can be saved from these illegal activities of these service providers and fooling the innocent public in the name of telecommunication and extract money with harassment.

In May this year I had taken an overseas trip and for the first time taken a SIM card from Matrix. None of the Sim cards worked and these guys had assured there would be no problem. After coming back i told them about the problem so they say I should have contacted them from overseas for a card replacement.

Even till today i get calls from matrix asking me to pay up after making their executive understand the issue which everyone does and promises there would be no further calls. But now they are getting rude and aggressive and asking me to pay up no matter what.

                DON'T EVER USE MATRIX!

I had travelled to New York for a summer exchange and found out about Matrix. I called them to enquire about their rates and their packages and they sent a representative down immediately to explain everything to me. After signing the contract and getting credit card information (that they weren't authorized to use unless the payment wasn't being made by us), they left me with my sim card and said a bill would arrive after each month. My representative Abdul Rehman said that the payment would be made by us and the credit card information was ONLY a safety net.

After a month o[censored]sage, I get an EXTREMELY high bill amount that I'm almost too ashamed to admit. My calls were all local calls and international calls were to my family only, that too very few. I followed up with my representative immediately who admitted there was an error in my statement and that he would send me a revised bill. In the mean time, they had already deducted the amount from my credit card, without my permission!

I've been hackling with this organization for the past 4 months and STILL haven't received a refund on my first bill. The second bill was even higher and because of my first experience, i had to cancel my credit card to make sure they didn't take the money from me without my permission AGAIN (which i was advised by my representative to do)! In spite of this, I've received only ONE email from their accounting department asking me to pay the second bill amount. I replied saying I would only pay it AFTER the first bill was refunded and I received the detailed bill statements for both. I obviously got NO RESPONSE.

They had the audacity to send me a lawyer's notice! My representative doesn't know about it and even went on to say "it wasn't his problem" !!!!!

I'm still trying to get a refund and its just the worst possible experience ever. They have no internal communication and they obviously don't give a about their customers.
Dear sir Sincere apologies for the service issues. can you please share your contact / account details so we can investigate and take appropriate action . You may call me directly on [protected] or email on [protected]@matrix.in

In the month of October 2010 I had visited USA on a personal trip. So that I am connected to my dear ones, I decided on taking an international calling card. In spite of the wonderful time I had during my vacation, the memories of the trip are offset by the horror called Matrix Cellular Services Private Limited.

Foremost, when the sales person of the company visit my office to handover the Sim Card, they charged my credit card for the security deposit amount merely reading out the card details to someone over the phone. I for one, fund this modus operandi highly unsecure! Not sure if it is a legal way to collecting payments. Further the documentation done involved selecting a plan and I chose the basic plan covering only voice and text messaging service given the steep prices.

Once I reached my destination, the first blow I got was that we can get a travel number at the destination airport for 1/10th the cost. I had little choice and continued with what I had signed up for.

Moving on, when I get the final bill, to my astonishment, the 73% of the bill amount pertains to data that I a) had not used as I had all data options switched off on my phone and most importantly b) had not opted for the data plan! On a details look at the bill, it turns out that there are 25 heavy and similar amount charges levied under the data section of my itemized bill. Now, I fail to understand how can there be 25 items of exactly the same charge levied for data!

The amazing part of the entire deal is when I came back and raised a dispute, the company officials said that we will rectify the matter and I was requested to pay for the voice and text services along with taxes, which I did. 2 years later, i.e. in October 2012 the company hires a collection agency by them of Nexus Systems Pvt Ltd as a collection partner for recovering the balance amount. Now Mr. Dilip Kulkarni and Mrs. Priya Kulkarni, who are the directors of the company and their associates, call up at random hours, speak in rude language with a threating and intimidating spirit asking me to pay up. This is sheer gunda gardi!

In my experience, Matrix Cellular (International) Services Private Limited, are crooks and high unprofessional group to deal with.

                  Regards,
                  Varun N.

                    Sir,
This is with reference to the complaint filing against usage of Matrix cellular services. I am a student and I had visited on behalf of government of India for a scientific tour. As a matter for telecommunication I had taken a sim from matrix cellular services.I had asked them to provide me a sim with the cheapest call charges. I had paid a security of Rs 6000/-. As per their rules they were subject to provide me a handset too. But as I returned to India they have generated a heavy bills of rupees 35000, which was unjustifiable. They have charged the calls with a rate of euro 2-3 approximation, which has led me in a great trouble. The calls which were not done was also charged by them along with internet usage which was never accessed. They have misguided me with their false service which was really not expected to a student. How will I bring this much amount for their false game planning to consumers? Kindly provide necessary support. I will be attaching all the necessary details shortly.

Hello,My name is Ashish Khandewale. I am a student currently studying in london,uk.Before leaving India MATRIX cellular company's employee Mr.Ankit Agarwal called me to discuss about international simcards. I went to his office and he said I wil be having free calls in uk and free 100 mints to india. When I reached uk I found that I got charged for every call I made and got bill of rs 8000.. I called company and asked details,I found that I didn't have any free calls only for T mobile to T mobile.Matrix did not mention this when I bought sim card. I asked them to terminate my service as I used it only for 10 days. They said it is not possible I have to pay £160 as termination fee. As I am student I am not able to pay such huge amount. Then I talked with manager he said my guarantor should pay money. I said to them I was alone at the time of signing form so no one signed as guarantor. Matrix's employee Mr.Ankit Agarwal made a fake signature of my father as a guarantor and started mental agony by calling my parents for money and blackmailing every time by saying we will sue in court. As their employee made a fake signature of my guarantor how am I liable to pay?please help me

This is regarding MATRIX sim card taken by us: No.:[protected] and account code 576455. When we had taken the connection, we had given them a CITIBANK voucher which gave us benefit of 100 minutes free talk time to India and the same had been approved and accepted by the Matrix representative Mr. Bhaskar Singh. The same had also been forwarded to the data team at Matrix. However, when we return back and the bill is provided, no discounts have been provided and when I mailed them that this is the problem, the representative Mr. Farhaan Waseem, Supervisor - Customer care told us that the credit would be given within 4-5 days and since then whenever we have tried to call Mr. Farhan, he never answers his phone. We have all the correspondence with Matrix to show that the voucher and all details regarding the voucher had been given to Matrix right when we took the sim card. Everytime I have followed up with them, they said, we have escalated the matter and will revert back within 24-48 hours which they never did. The charges have however been debited to our account. If this had been the case where we had not made the payment, they would have levied interest on the bill. They havent refunded the amount yet and there have been no further correspondence from MATRIX. Request you to please take appropriate action against them and give our refund with interest.

I was travelling to Spain and needed a SIM and a datacard. Mr. Hardik Gutka, the Sales representative of Matrix, told me that I can choose a plan where I won't be charged for browsing. However, the hidden truth was that I was going to be charged for browsing. Mr. Gutka, didn't even provide me a copy of tariff nor the CAF. I took a card for 20 days. According to the system, my usage was high on the first two days i.e. June 2 and 3,2012. However, my family, who were in India that time, were informed on June14,2012 that my usage is high. I think Matrix waited till i reached a particular amount. Without my consent of cancellation, my credit card was swiped 3 times. when I returned to India on the 17th of June. When I tried to contact Mr. Gutka, he didn't answer my call. When I got the bill of Rs.87000/- I tried calling him again.
Unfortunately you highly fraudulent employees of your so called company have not provided me with the details at the time of selling the datacard and SIM. Mr. Hardik Gutka didn't even give me a copy of the CAF. Secondly, my credit card was swiped 7 times. If you are following a Standard Chartered rate, I do not have any details of it. I had requested for my tariff as well as my CAF on June 17. I got the details on July 8th. Mr. Hardik Gutka has not given me a copy of any details at the time of selling the card. None of you are responsible enough to answer my queries. It is only after a month that my call was answered. Are the seniors at Matrix so busy that they cannot reply to my queries for a month? And when they reply, people like Mr. Farhan yell at a lady to shut her up! How the hell will India progress, if people like Mr. Farhan want to mentally harass woman, who are alone and fighting for their rights. I need clarification of every penny charged. One of your employees has given me wrong information at the time of selling the card.
I had asked some senior employee to clarify my problems however nobody has bothered. Every time the issue is just 'escalated' I have spoken to people like Mr. Nishant Mishra, Mr. Rahul and Mr. Abhinav. All three of them have failed to resolve my issue. Matrix should be thankful that I have not asked for compensation for mental torture. I had visited the Matrix office on July8th to get my issue solved. I was made to wait for 45 minutes. This shows that Matrix is least bothered. The only thing they want is money by fooling their customers. So Matrix is nothing but a big scam in itself where all the employees know only to extort money. They are mafias in civil dresses. I WILL NOT PAY A SINGLE PAISA TO MATRIX AS IT IS THEIR MISTAKE THAT MR. HARDIK GUTKA GAVE ME A WRONG INTERNET PLAN. I NEED A WRITTEN APOLOGY FROM MATRIX AND ALSO A WRITTEN PROOF THAT MY BILL HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OFF.

Sir, this is to notify that I have been mentally harassed by matrix for an incorrect bill made under my name for the Sim card and data card usage in Singapore. I have been to Singapore on a business trip ofr 18 days. I got a Sim from matrix which was a plan for Rs. 5000 as a guarantee. I got an email during the trip for a payment of Rs35000 and on the failure of the payment my services were disconnected in the mid of the trip. It was a worst hassle at that time since i was alone there and it was late at night. Incorrect information was provided by their executive and they also did a forgery on my credit card for the re payment. After I returned they mailed me the bill of more than 100000/-.I am in shock and could not understand that how someone can get a bill of more than 1 lac for using a sim card just for 14 days. Since I got relocated, they also hacked my naukri profile to get my new number. They tried to swipe my credit card but were unable to do so.Now that they aren't able to charge from my credit card becoz of no balance they have again started calling me and mentally disturbing me.Latest they mailed me to pay the total amount else they would file a case against me.I am really pissed off.How can i make such payments when I have not used it? Kindly help asap. Thanks and regards, Khushboo

My experience with matrix. I bought a matrix sim card from t3 on 4th f3b 2013 from Mr. Shahnawaz. I specifically told him where i was going and what i wanted( free incoming and bbm service). Mr. Shahnawaz told me that there is one plan in which incoming is free in Europe and 125 minutes of outgoing is also free. After taking that pack he swiped my credit card and told me to sign the receipt. Now when i came back i was charged Rs. 3100 for incoming and after lodging the complaint after about 1 month I received a call from Mr. Yogesh Pandey saying that your plan included only 125 minutes of free incoming and nothing else and when i asked him to call Mr. Shahnawaz he informed me that he is no longer working with matrix and now i will have to pay for incoming.

Thats how matrix is cheating their customers.
All i want is that Rs. 3100 should be waived off.

I took a student plan while travelling to US, Initially it was told that 45cents per minute for calls to India. When my bill came it was charged 89cents per calls. I got bill of 18k. Still not resolved.

I had taken a Matrix sim card on my visit to mauritius from the 8th of May till 15th may 2012.

On receiving the bill details from matrix, I have noticed that in the few calls made by me the call durations have been increased.
I have the logs for all the calls made from my mobile phone which shows a completely different duration for few calls, and there are few calls where the duration given are correct.

I raised the complaint with matrix customer care citing the above issues, and a complaint was issued being number SU[protected].
When I called again to check if any action on my complaint has been taken, I got a reply that the duration are correct as per the service provider. This was a straight denial that I had no rights to tell anything and any bill produced by them as per there service providers was final.
As per my calculation a total duration of 4 minutes of international calls and 12 minutes of local calls have been increased.

I am completely disappointed that all my international calls has been charged with about one minute extra. And few of the local calls made has also been increased by a minute each.

                                    Hi,
I had purchased a Matrix SIM card from IGI airport Delhi and this turned out to be the biggest mistale of my life. They had blocked an amount of Rs. 5000/- from my account as pre-sales authorization. Now they have used my credit card without informing me to deduct the entire bill amount. Their sales represntative did not inform me that something like this would happen. I would like to lodge a formal complaint against this modus operandi. Their services are very poor and they fleece you of your money. Everyone should beware of this company.
                                    Regards,
                                    Anushree

                                      Hello,

From Matrix Cellular, Mr. Sagar – [protected] came se selling SIM card as my in-laws were travelling to US.

The card was handed over to some were around 26th /27th Apr 2012, and started working from 11th May 2012.

On 29th May 2012 (India) I got a call from some of the executive, that the one month period is completed, and SIM will be deactivated, I said I need to speak to someone about the deal closure, the executive said will call back in 30 mins. I was keep waiting for the call and finally I called up for conformation @ call center (from the same number I received a call [protected]) and happen to talk to someone named Aisha. She took all the information and understood the concern, and given the reference number as SU[protected], and given the confirmation that she will ensure that services does not get barred…

Since morning, neither incoming nor outgoing is happening from the number allocated and following up since morning with Sagar. Post so many follow-up he connected me via con-call to someone named Rupali and she committed @ 11:25 A.M. that in next 30 mins. the services will be restored, and got also…
But frontline of any company should be sensitize about commitments and need to understand the words of commitment.

                                      Really frustrating situation.
