I own a Honda City car chasis No- MAKGM253L9N005741purchased on 27 Nov 2009. The car has MICHELIN ENERGY tyres. Till now the car has done 21000 kms. One of the tyres has developed A BULGE ON THE SIDE WALL. As advised the car was taken to the Honda dealer in Pune CRYSTAL HONDA on 06 Jan. Since last three days the car is with the CRYSTAL HONDA and there is no response from MICHELIN IN DIA. MICHELIN REP HAS STILL NOT INSPECTED THE TYRE AFTER THREE DAYS. Dear Michelin,
I had purchased set of 4 tyres from your dealer M/S Sign Tyres in Chembur on 11/12/09. On my way to Delhi i found on highway at Ahmadabad that one tyre developed vertical cut in the circumference of the tyre. I immediately called M/S Sign Tyres he told me that keep tyre in spare and use your spare because after seeing the tyre only they can take decision and i followed the advice any how i reached Delhi with the great stress because all the way i was not having any spare wheel in my car, any unfortunate would have been happen. I called up again M/S Sign Tyres from Delhi his answer was same as i mentioned above. Any how fortunately i reached Mumbai safely in the same stressful condition. my condition was neither i could buy new tyre nor could use new Defective one which was lying in my boot. After reaching Mumbai i approached M/S Sign Tyre he told me some Michelin company representative will come for inspection. Finally on 28/01/10 your company person had come at the dealer shop. I live in Powai i took my vehicle all the way to Chembur. After seeing the defective tyre your company's faithful representative was trying to prove customer wrong and told me cut like this does not cover under warranty etc. etc. and tyre can not be replaced. If this is the answer then should have told me on my first call and i would have not gone through that stress and i would have purchased new tyre now tell me who is responsible for my mental stress after lots of argument with your company person i left the place and kept the tyre with me as an evidence and decided neither i will purchase Michelin tyre in future for any of my vehicle and advice other not to purchase your tyre. Your company person must be thinking that he had saved Rs 3150/- for the company by not replacing tyre but simultaneously he forgot he is loosing faith of millions. If i can purchase set of 4 tyres and maintain a car Rs. 3150/- is not a big deal for me but michelin lost the faith of mine.
I am being constraint and not approaching any other authority with the expectation for getting justice from you. I am sure you will not make me act otherwise.

This is the complaint i made it in the month of February'2010 followed by two reminders but as usual no reply from Michelin India. On 30/12/10 again i was on my trip and the another tyre got busted and my life was at risk.I am very disappointed again first they sold one year old tyres to me and out four tyres third one got punctured at two places now only one is left for which i am worried because any time this may also ditch.

Initially I was not that doubtfull and was not aware of these kind of scams.So,I replied back with my details and my resume attached with the mail.
Within 5 days they replied back with a detailed offer letter attached with another mail and also with a Visa Clearence Form.
The details in the offer letter are too good to be true and to my great astonishment I found that they have several grammatical and spelling mistakes in the offer.And then I also noticed that the mail id is of yahoo,where as being such big company they should have their own domain as address.The 2nd mail is copied and pasted below for further reference:-( and I can also send both the documents sent to me by them is required)

Now,for cross checking when I visited MICHELIN TYRES PLC LONDON's site ,I saw that in the Recruitment page they have mentioned these kind of frauds and have also stated that-

Thats why I thought for launching a complaint in the consumer forum.Please help.

I have received below mail on my email for an confirmed appointment. As I found to be very strange as by this email on Yahoo I sensed to be scam, however out of curiosity I called on the Mobile no. which is active. Person responded by his pronunciation seems of African region which does not want to share any information regarding the appointment, even not company website and job profile and insisting to send the mail by completing the details asked.

By this fourm, I would like to vigil all readers to be caution of this scam.

Sir,
I had purchased four Michelin Tyres for my Wagon R. on 22.02.2009 from an authorised dealer of Karol Bagh , New Delhi. I was repeatedly asked by the dealer that Michelin is the world's no. 1 quality tyres .
though the prices are much higher than other brands, i purchased the Michelin Tyres .
but i m sorry to inform you that both the front tyres are tottally finished just after one & half year ( less than 20000 k.m. ) . on 29th Aug 2010 , one of the front tyres got burst while driving.
i want to inform here that earlier i was using MRF tyres which i used for four years ( more than 50000 k.m. )
it is matter of regret that company is claiming it self world's no.1 tyre manufacturer & the quality is so bad.
I have lodged the complaints online with company but there iw no response. Even there is no body to pick the phones of Hotline no.s.

1. I purchased a Honda Jazz car (chasis No. MAK GG 171H9N 005943 and Engine No. L12 B[protected] on 20 Jan 10 from Land Mark, Ahmedabad. Vehicle is equipped with MichellinEngineers tyres (tubeless), made in China. One of the tyre developed crack on side wall and resulted into air leak, thus immobilization of vehicle. It happened during Jun 10. Mileage completed at the time of occurrence – 340 km. Crack happened on Gandhinagar (Gujarat) road, which are probably the best in the country.

2. Michellin India Tyres Pvt Ltd, Ahmedabad was approached through Landmark Ahmedabad for warranty replacement, which has been rejected citing “accidental damage to the sidewall due to contact with blunt or sharp object while in use”. M/s Michellin India rep was unable to explain failure in technical terms when contacted telephonically. I am not satisfied with his reply. Failing of tyre at such low kms that too on Gandhinagar (Gujarat) roads speaks about the poor quality tyre fitted in subject car.

3. Following is requested :-

(a) Tyre of my car be replaced under warranty, with good quality tyre.

(b) Now, I have no faith in quality of Michelline Engineers tyres and their customer support, preferably all the tyres of my car be replaced with some other make best quality tyres.

(c) Henceforth, equipping of Honda Seal cars with M/s Michellin engineers tyres may be stopped to save quality & brand name of Honda.

(d) Failed tyre be subjected to lab check about impact / momentum / KE of suspected article which could have hit resulting into crack vis-à-vis values which tyre is suppose to withstand. Under what all conditions (vehicle speed, angle at which it could have hit, condition under which such angle and velocity could have been achieved by the hitting article, expected mass of the article etc) be brought out clearly to justify rejection. Granular / structural changes be studied to support / reject the argument of your rep.

4. With warm regards and hoping for justice.

I purchased the Michelin tyres 3 months before from two dealer AM. Mehta and Darshan Tyres in Pune India. and one of the tyres got a bulge on the right side. I showed to the dealer who in turn called the Michelin Engineer. THe engineer had some discussion with the dealer and they discuss something withing themselves.

The engineer has inpsected the tyre and said that its due to some impact and there is a bulge on the side wall. The car run only 3000 km when I put the new tyres.

There is no mark on the Rim of any impact on the aloy wheels. The engineer has refuse to listen to my claim. Dealer has offered me a discounted tyre so that, his sale can happen.

I would like Michelin Management to look into it else I am planning to file a consumer complaint against it. Any loss to the car or life due to defective tyre will be a sole responsibility of Michelin

I had changed all 4 tyres of my car to Michelin Tubeless Tyres from M/s Darshan Tyres, F.C. Road, Pune-411004 in July end. In November, my tyre developed a big hole and I immediately went and complained about the same to M/s Darshan Tyres and requested them for a replacement since only 4 months have passed from the purchase of the tyre. However, they handed over a 'Tyre Inspection Report' (Report No.107237 dated[protected] saying that the side wall is cut and there will be no replacement in such case.
I was told that Michelin Tyres are the best in the world and it is very sad that in such a situation there is no co-operation from your dealers. I didn't change one but 4 tyres of my car. Hence, I request you to to consider this matter in a 'customer-friendly manner' and arrange for a replacement of the tyre.

this is a very sad note i have to write to you regarding your service and quality of tyre which you manufacture.i drive a tyota inova vehicle and this is my first tyre change after i brought my vehicle i changed my tyre at 64546kms at satara that is my home town in maharashtra.after driving about 1200km i find air bubbles coming out of my tyre.i have been regularly using bridgstone tyres for my erlier toyota inova and i was really happy with the tyre, the only reason to buy ur tyre was the reputation but i am very sorry to inform you that your company has totally failed to stand to the name and brand vaule it carries.threr is absolutelly no supporting response from your delear nor your company. I have purchase the Four no tubeless michelin car tyre from your dealer at pathankot (PB) named Rocky Traders through vide invoice no-3595 dt 22.8.2009 . the air pressur of these tyre has been reduce up to 10 to 15 lbs with in week period & now I have check the tyre pressur daily & filled the pressur from the tyre man, and your company tyre dealer did not supply the Reebok bag along with the purchase of 4 no car tyre. reply soon iun this connevtion ptherwise i shall file the case in trhe consumer court of the chamba district Himachal pradesh 176310.

I have already posted the complaint earlier here. I am yet to receive any response for the same. About 2 weeks must have passed. I had wanted to send the relevant photographs then but could not. I am attaching the same photographs here.

micheline tyre on my car has developed large cracks in the side
wall the tyre has only done about between seven +ten thousand
miles. ido not drive on motorways and do not make any long
journeys as i am unemployed.i do not feel this should be occuring
on a top quality tyre made by micheline, i cannot afford to buy another tyre and feel micheline should sort this problem.i am not using my car un less i have to, and would appreciate your urgent
attention on this matter
