My Nokia handset 6300 (purchased in June 08) had a problem in
> Oct. I approached the nearest Nokia care centres in Marathalli, Bangalore. I
> submitted my phone for repair and I was asked to pick up the handset after
> 10 working days. (A reference number was provided). I kept making rounds
> of the care centre, and I eventually got my handset only after a month.
> Within 1 weeks time the same issue re-appeared, I went back and this time
> I demanded a new handset against the same. I was told thats not the
> policy and again the phone was sent for repair. I got the same after 2
> weeks, saying that the handset is un-repairable hence I was given a
> showroom piece (demo piece) as replacement. I was hesitent and requested
> the manager to give me a new set as a replacement. I was declined again.
> As I thought, this time a new problem appeared, and on 28th Nov I went
> back to the care centre. I was given a reference no.[protected]/081128/2,
> the due date for pick up of the handset was 2nd Dec. Till date I havent
> got the same back. The care centre is closed, there is no one picking up
> the phone too. I went to Nokia website, sent email to Corporate
> communications in Finland (Since there was no email for India office). I
> also called the corporate office in Banaglore, I was given to help. 4
> days back I received an email response from Mohan Kumar - CCO south.
> After investigation, he came back saying my handset is ready for pick up
> at the same care centre. I informed him that the centre is closed, the
> shutters are always down, and I am visiting the centre everyday. I am
> running pillar to post for my handset. I am truly disappointed with
> Nokia, which is a Global brand, but with no concept of customer service.
> Nokia has been successful is selling millions of handsets, but is useless
> in service. I dont know how do I get my phone back. I want to make a
> legal complaint against the company, I want them to compensate me for the
> trouble and I also want to inform other members of public of the same.
> Consequences : I have spent Rs. 8000/- appx on purchase of the handset
> which I am not in possession of. I have been made to go to the care
> centre innumerable times at the cost of auto fare and fuel cost. For this
> I was having to leave early from work, or go late to office to make the
> visits, causing loss of productive time.More than anything else, mental
> torture and harrassement in following up with Nokia care, Nokia corporate,
> sending emails etc.
