My daughter Urmi Chaudhuri applied for a fresh passport on1.7.2010 (Ref.no.Cal W 559211).She was earlier holding a passport.Since the validity of earlier passport expired she applied for a fresh passport.
Police verification from her end completed long time back.But whenever I opened the website of Regional Passport office,Kolkata,the status of of passport shows 'Personal Particulars Form sent to Police Authority. Awaited for CPR. Pls ignore PARA-I'. The same status is being exhibited for the last four or five months.I do not understand if the citizens are harassed in this way the faith in administration is bound to fail.
I would therefore,request to please look into the matter so as to enable her to get her passport without any further dealay.

dear, sir i have applied for my new passport on -21/12/2009 file no- CALA[protected]. The enquiry was done in the month of march 2010 i have submited all the documents which was asked by the D.I.B. Then there was no information when i will recieve my passport. On26/11/2010 i recieve a letter to submit a P.P form which i did today is 10/03/2011 i am waitng for the enquiry . it is almost one & half year i havent recieved the passport. on advertisement it shows get your passport in three months but in my case the month are converting into years. if there is any problem let me know, but why should i suffer because of slow speed work culture. sir kindly look into the matter & do the needfull. twice i have cancelled my vacation with my family for abroad Thanking you amit sethi .

My File no is -A09539909 and application date is 12/23/2009. Its been more than one year now and still i have not received my passport even after police verification being done. The online status was updated after 10 months and now it shows that the application is closed and I need to reapply with same file no. What kind of harrasment is this to the applicants when every document is in order and all formalities are done. Its a shame that after paying a lumpsum amount of Rs 3000/- to the agent too, the passport has not been cleared and sent.

I had complained through email to RPO Kolkata several days back but there is no reply.
I had also complained to RPO delhi as next level of escalation but the result is same.

I tried to reach passport office through phone, but not reachable.

I (Bikash Chandra) had applied for passport (File no: A028464) on[protected] at the Kolkata passport office. All my documents had been verified and subsequently police enquiry was also completed at my homeplace, Asansol(WB). But my passport has not been delivered yet. On enquring about my status i found the status to be "Please submit P.P. forms alongwith Photographs for re-verification" . Do I need to again fill the form with Rs.1000 and repeat the entire procedure ?

After some days:It is to regret that due to unavoidable circumstances the despatch of Passport has been delayed and will now be despatched in a week's time

After six months on : 29.12.2010: Submit P.P. form with photo for reverification.

Find below the various correspondence made with RPO, Kolkata and status at diffrent time.RPO never replied, have doubt whether he has a time to read the mail.

Why re-verification is required once the verification is sent from district Superintendent of Police which is clear and accepted by the RPO office as per thier web site display ( attached below). If it is required why after wasting six months of time?

Kindly enquire the matter and do teh needful to release the passport

Dear Sir,


The above passport application was submitted at Siliguri Passport application collection center, it was received by Kolktata office 20/05/2010.

Subsequently police veryfication is over as below updated in your website after two months of application. website displayed passport will be sent on 23.09.2010. this status displayed about a month. website status again chnange that unavoidable circumstances passport could not delivered and now it will be despatch within a week. This status displyaed about two months and by teh time birth place verification is also condcuted by teh concern police authority as per RPO instruction. After one month of birth place verification surprisingly status on web site changed on 29.12.2010 and asked to submit P.P. form with passport size photo for re-verification.

Whether the previous record is lost or the police report is forge what is the reseaon for re-rification could not understand. Time counts the value. It tooks six months to take the decision of re-verification.

It is requested you to find out who was the official responsible for this file who made the delay and ultimatley diluted the whole process after spending six months time.

Please suggest what should we do for you? My wife is alone in India as I informed you in my previous mail.

Can you please let us know the causes of re-verification whereas in your website it was clearly displayed that police report is clear and passport will be despatch on 23.09.2010.

I submitted Passport applications for my twin sons Sri Suraj Kumar Maiti & Souvik Kumar Maiti on 03/12/09 at Kolkata Regional Passport office. This is not the first time passport issue for them. In fact, this was reissue of passport for 3rd time. Police verification was completed about 4-5 months back. Recently, I got the passport for my 1st son (Suraj) on 2nd week of Sept-10. I was repeatedly checking with passport office and Bidhan Nagar Police. Police says that we already sent the report. Passport office says that we have not received the same. I sent an e-mail to RPO Kolkata sometime in Aug-10. 1st time, I got a reply that they were waiting for Police Report. 2nd time I sent another mail on sept-10. I did not get a reply. Recently, my wife contacted Bidhan Nagar Police station. They told, they had sent the report.
It is already 10 months passed. What should I do now?

i noor jahan have submitted application for passport on 17-11-09. The police verification has been done on 23-12-09. But till now i have not received the passport despite daily asking the post master concerned. i am not able to confirm what is the reason of delay in sending me the passport by kolkata passport office. i along with my husband have applied for the passport but only my husband has received the passport. we both have been alloted with numbers 3766 and 3765.

I would like to lodge a complaint regarding the delay and non delivery of my wifes passport with application number - A 041135/2009. (Mrs. Krishna Lahiri)

Would request you to kindly check on the status of the same and inform me regarding when this will be delivered.

I submitted my application on 11/02/2010, for a new passport (as all pages of my previous passport E 1893668 got full),on form no 2 together with all the necessary documents required ( xerox of old passport and photos) and a fee of Rs 1000 at RPO Kolkata,India. The file no of submission is M003295 and the key no is [protected].

Now after about a month I find on the website www.passport.gov.in , that I have to submit the form again with photographs.

Could you please find out why I need to submit them again as I am working in Visakhapatnam ?

Non receipt of Passport for long time after police verification

I have not received my passport even till date.

I just wanted to vent out my anger against the Passport Office in Kolkata. I had applied for my passport many years ago in Kolkata. A Police constable came to my house asking me to see the Police officer at my local police station (Bally) at my convenience. I went there after my work in Kolkata in the evening. The Police officer wanted to know the reason for my application and the type of profession I am in. At the end of the conversation, he expressed his need for money that only I may be able to satisfy. I had a Rs 10 note in my pocket, which I gave him so he can take care of his expenses. I got my passport on time and for 9 years I had no problem, until I applied for police verification certificate from the Passport office in Kolkata.
At this time, I was told that my police verification was not complete the first time and I must apply for a renewed police verification, if I want one. Normal Police verification used to take about 2-3 months. But I needed the certificate within 5 working days, so I can fulfill my other requirements. Not knowing what to do, I went to the Passport office next morning with my wife and three year old daughter to meet the officer to see whether the problem can be resolved. I was offered an interview with the officer and I literally was on my hands and knees to beg the officer to release a police verification certificate.
She was softened with my approach and asked me to get an affidavit from the Bankshal court that I had never committed any crime of any sort. Upon receiving that certificate, passport office realized that Consulate General Office in New York had previously issued a police verification certificate on my behalf and based on that they will issue a police verification certificate for me.
To this day, I believe that my first police verification was complete and in my second encounter, employees at the Kolkata Passport Office failed to approach me with their financial needs. The result of which disgusted me with official government business.

I had applied for my wife's passport on 25th June 2009. Even after succesful police verification I am not able to see any status change in the passport online portal.
Passport application number is CAL-A[protected].

I had written several mails to RPO kolkata and complain office in New Delhi. As an usual practise they didn't respond to my mails.

The RPO Kolkata office landline phone numbers are also not working.

I have applied for my new passport on 15th October, 2008 at Kolkata Passport Office through online application and submitted the form along

with all necessary documents and also showed originals during submission. But still I did not receive my passport.

When I have checked with Kolkata Passport Office I was told that the police verification is successfully completed for my present address

[Bagnan, Howrah]. But police verification is pending for the address where I used to stay before my marriage. Kolkata RPO has told me that PPF

has been sent to SP DIB 24 parganas(N) on 03/02/09. But still they did not receive any report from them even though police verification is over. Is

it reasonable time to verify one applicant's address?

I have already lodged online complains three times to "Online Public Grievance Lodging and Monitoring System".

Even I have sent several reminders to them. Two times it was forwarded to Kolkata RPO. But there is no further progress.

Why everything stops at Kolkata Passport Office? May I know the reason for this. There should be some mechanism to follow up the issues. It

should not be like a never ending process.

How long should it take to complete? It is already 9 months over from the date I have applied. Is it reasonable time?

If I try to contact Kolkata RPO through e-mail I am not getting any response. They are also not willing to give any status update over phone. But it

is also impossible for somebody to visit always the passport office to know the updated status. Then why the phone numbers are given in website

as tele-enquiry? Even once I met with Kolkata RPO during the month of March, 2009 and I was told to get the police verification clear from

Barasat DIB office. But is it my responsibility?

Please take necessary actions to close this issue.

Police verification at my residence was carried out in September, 2008. Submitted 2 nos. pp forms again in November, 2008 for verification at place of birth (same as home town)as asked. Submitted 2 nos pp form again in February, 2009 as asked on your status portal. Police verification at home town/place of birth carried out in March, 2009. Meanwhile I was asked by letter to submit forms for re-verification; submitted 4 nos. pp forms in March, 2009. My grievence is I have submitted pp forms several times as asked. Shall I get the passport when all police verification is over? Why I am suffering this harrasment? The portal is still showing submit pp forms for reverification. Shall I get the passport? If yes, when? If not why?

Again on[protected], I was asked to submit fresh PP form alongwith photograph. I do not know how many times PP forms are required to be submitted. Police verification done in the month of July'2008.Alraedy lodged complain with Joint Secretary (CPV) & CPO, Ministery of External Afair New Delhi.I do not know to whom I shall approach for this matter.
