Respected Sir/Madam,
I am writing to formally raise a concern regarding the screening of the movie "Good Bad Ugly" (Tamil) at PVR Cinemas, AeroHub, Chennai, scheduled for 12:10 PM on 15th April 2025.
I had booked a total of 7 tickets for this show – 3 tickets via the BookMyShow app (booking proof attached) and 4 tickets purchased on the spot (proof also enclosed). However, the show, which was scheduled to begin at 12:10 PM, actually commenced only at 12:34 PM, with a delay of approximately 25 minutes.
While a minor delay of 5 minutes may be understandable, a delay of 25 minutes is unacceptable. During this period, we were shown two promotional videos from PVR Cinemas, each lasting 5 minutes, followed by 15 minutes of trailers for other films, totaling 25 minutes of non-movie content.
This delay caused unnecessary inconvenience to me and my group. It appears that the advertised showtime was misleading and seemingly manipulated to maximize ad revenue, rather than respecting the viewer's time. Such practice amounts to deficiency in service and violates consumer trust.
Importantly, this is not the first time this has happened to me. Similar delays and excessive advertisements have occurred on several other occasions during my visits to PVR. This repeated issue has left me frustrated and has now compelled me to raise a formal complaint.
I had also raised this concern immediately at the venue with the Duty Officer, Mr. Prabha, at PVR Cinemas AeroHub. He acknowledged the issue and advised me to escalate it by submitting a formal complaint.
Given the circumstances, I request the following:
Strict adherence to scheduled show timings in the future.
A compensation of ₹2, 500 per ticket, totaling ₹17, 500, for the inconvenience, mental distress, and loss of valuable time caused by this delay.
