This recently happened to a friend of mine who was looking for a job change.

He had put up his profile in several other job portals for over a month with no scam calls. One day after he uploaded his information in Shine.com : One Stop Destination To Find Your Dream Job on the Go, he received no less than 10 calls.

The MO is rather similar in all the calls received.

You’re asked to confirm your qualification, years of experience, preferred location and domain.
You’re assured immediately that there are close to a hundred job openings suiting your profile.
There’s a snag though, the likelihood of your landing the job is increased with their service of providing internal references in the organisations that have opening, which is all great but you need to pay a token amount of Rs. 3500 to register for these services.
When asked where they found his contact information & profile, the callers declined to provide that detail, whereas some of them claimed to work for Shine.com : One Stop Destination To Find Your Dream Job on the Go.
When the caller is quizzed more on his/her professional email id, or specifics of which organisations have openings, you’re asked to confirm whether you’re willing to register and pay the requisite Rs. 3500.
If your answer is not a “Yes”, but a volley of more questions which a genuine headhunter will have no problems answering, they hang up the call.
While these fraudulent schemes exist everywhere, just the overwhelming number of calls received in a single day all claiming to provide the same service raises a lot of questions and reflects badly on Shine.com.

I have filled complain on 26th april 2018 against shine.com. This was about the lies they had told me and taken inr 49932/- from me. They gave me assurance to get new job once i paid the charges. Initially they took small amount from me then they gradually asking me higher amount for different profile and certification. Within 2 month i paid them inr 49932/-. Again they are asking for some money and saying this is the last time i have to pay. As last i said that i am not going to paying any amount further and return my money. I want my money back so please me in this matter. One member mr. Asfaq ansari from shine.com (Ht media) was doing coordination with me. Frankly speaking they have shown me very big dream about new job however they were making me fool as nothing has happened. I again request you to please help me to refund my money.

I have opted for international placement services. Paid 7493 in march. I have not heard from shine after that. I have shared my cv multiple times to maheep malveeya. Spoke to swaroop/atul/akash multiple times but so far no action from shine. Neither my account is activated nor any job opening details provided. This is really concern. After paying initial 7k we were told about more services and told to pay more when we are not willing to take it. I need my money back. I do not need any job from you. I enrolled it as it was in the name of hindustan times but looks like people are interested in taking money and provide no service.
                This is really annoying

I got a call from anil bhardwaj (Ph no:[protected], [protected]), the representative of shine.com. He told that there is a vacancy for a job in canada location. After that he asked me to pay the registration fees (Rs.4543) and he assured that you will get an interview soon. After 4 days he called me and asked me to pay rs.6361 for the immigration process. I refused to pay and he told this is the last payment. Then he alloted the counselor and his name is deepesh (Ph no:[protected]), the representative of shine.com. He told me to pay rs.5204 for education verification. After that he told me to pay rs.5404 for job interview preparation. I refused to pay this amount and he told me if you didn't pay, you will surely fails in the interview. I paid the amount and there is no calls from shine.com. After 10 days i got a call from deepesh and he told me to pay 13498 for job and interview assistance. Then i shouted him and i told i cannot pay this amount. So the # and # from shine mr. Ritesh pratap singh (Ph no:[protected]) called me and asked me to pay the part payment. After that i paid rs.6195 for job and interview assistance. After that there is no single call from anybody in shine.com. If i call them, they were not responding properly. They are all fakers. My kind request is to who search for a job, please don't believe shine.com. And i request the money cheaters to return back my money, if you are food eaters.
I request the indian government to throw this company out of this country as soon as possible and i need the guidance to fight against this fraudulents if there is no response for my complaint.
After the submission of my complaint, what are the actions taken against your fraud employees. I have paid almost 28, 000 and it is not a small amount. I have all evidences like voice recording, e-mail, etc. If you do not refund my amount, I will surely file a complaint against you. Deduct the salary from your cheated employees and pay me as soon as possible. I have already discussed this matter to the nearest police station and they will surely help me.

I request the the Indian government and Haryana government to take necessary actions and ask them to return my money or throw them out of this country.
Your act of betrayal gave me a mental pressure. First give counselling to your employers to don't cheat others.
If the action is not against you, then this website comes under shine.com company. Now a days I lost my hope in the action of the government.
If my money is not refunded, I will give my voice against the government.

                      Respected Sir/Mam,

I(Meenakshi Sharma) got an email from Freelancer Hemant Kumar - Client of Shine.com [protected]@alerts.shine.com by HR Rajat for vacancy then I sent my resume([protected]@gmail.com) to them by this email ID [protected]@gmail.com. I took an appointment by calling him (Rajat). He sent me Interview Venue on this number [protected]. He's number is [protected]. I visited there and talked to Ms. Mannat, suggest me a job for Back-end executive in Noida Sec-5. I don't hv her number. Then She filled a form by the name of ACS TECH INFO and asked for 600 rs. She said we have to take charge for assurance so that we'll not leave job before a month and 1000 rs for another round at training venue(given in receipt). We submitted 500 rs. She arranged telephonic round for me then I cleared my first round and gave me filled form of ACS TECH INFO as receipt and given contact number of HR Sonu Kaushik
[protected]. We have to attend another round on Saturday (21/4/18) at 2:00 in Tilak Nagar. From there I got the address of Laxmi Nagar Office with contact number. Then I called to given contact number which was [protected] by my own number [protected]. Then I told to this Rajat. Then he sent the Noida location without number and I asked to provide the contact number. He said I'll try but after 2 days he refused. Now I want to get my money back.

Please help me out to get my money back from them. I'm not satisfied with their service. Kindly revert to us as soon as possible.

                      Thanks & Regards,

                      Dear Meenakshi,

                      Greetings from Shine.com.

With reference to your mail, these days a lot of fake recruiters are calling the candidates using the name of reputed job portals and extract heavy money from them. We will like to clarify that Shine.com is not linked with any such recruiter or consultants.

Please note that Shine.com is not responsible for, and expressly disclaims all liability for any such communication via email, sms or phone call by a frivolous source claiming to have got the contact details of the concerned person through or representing Shine.com.

Therefore jobs seekers are advised not to indulge in any monetary engagement with such sources in the name of guaranteed interviews with employers.

Also please note that time to time, we advertise this on our own newspaper Hindustan Times.

For further assistance please email us at [protected]@shine.com.

                      Regards
                      Shine Team

While these fraudulent schemes exist everywhere, just the overwhelming number of calls received in a single day all claiming to provide the same service raises a lot of questions and reflects badly on Shine.com.

                                    hi usha,
I also encountered with same suituation. I also pay 8000 rupees. I lodged complaint to customer care service also. I got call from them again they are asking 1440 rupees to refund my amount back. i just scold them and reject it. I file a police case regarding this issue. My suggestion is lodge a complaint on this issue. You many get call to pay as GST to refund money.please dont got into there trap and pay money. they won't answer. Shine is a bocus website. It is just to trap jobseekers. Beaware of this type of issus. Don't spent money for job. You also better complaint on cyber police station which is near to you

So for this as well I asked her that no company will ask for money . She transferred my call to her senior and she provided me the information that my technical interview will be scheduled on Thursday at 4.30 PM .

I called them at 4.30 PM on Thursday and mentioning about the interview . She transferred my call to the interview who quoted himself as a person from Indigo airlines .He took my interview and next day in morning I was told that I am selected and was asked to pay another Rs 12, 500 for medical and HR meeting that will be scheduled Sunday . She again convinced me over a call for all this .

I was so badly stuck . I paid 12.5K again to them .

On Saturday, that lady mentioned that she will provide me information regarding the interview and also I was provided the offer letter from them .

Since then, they have not been picking up my calls and it was too late for me to realize that it is a scan, a fraud .

I have debited almost Rs 22, 000 in total to them .

I have all their emails and transaction details which I am attaching with this .

Please, it is my request that you bring your attention to this and help me in this situation .

More than that, these frauds should be sent behind bars as they may have fooled a lot of people like for whom having a job is so much of priority .

I am in complete shock and in a very bad mental condition right now .
