Tanishq Store
SCF 97, Rajguru Market,
Hissar 125001
[protected]@titan.com
[protected]/234197

Date of Purchase : 11/09/2010
Item Purchased : Diamond Earrings (18K / 3.450 gm) & Gold Bracelet For Men (22K / 61.060 gm)
Item Code : 501163STKABA06 (Price paid Rs.34,558.37) & 511160BEGGAA00 (Price paid Rs. 1,34,623.56)

THE EXPERIENCE : -

I went to the store with my parents to purchase a necklace & earring set with the belief that it will be better than buying hallmark jewellery from our usual local jewellers as Tanishq brand comes with better quality, Unique product and better customer care assurance. I did not know then how soon this misconception of mine was to be cleared and the learning I took from this experience would serve me for life.

Dissatisfied with the variety I told my father that I would like to check out our usual jewellers too. My mum bought a pair of diamond earrings and dad bought a bracelet for himself now that we were in the store. At the time of the payment because my father is well known in the area and with a reputation of always keeping his debts cleared; the store manager was more than happy to give the things to him on credit basis. He asked for the mode of payment in reply to which my father checked with him if cheque would be acceptable and he said yes.

The next day I received my brand new platinum plus credit card. I called the store to check if credit cards are accepted and if we can settle our debt with my credit card instead and the employees said yes. My father went to the store and reconfirmed this statement before depositing the cheque in my account. I went to settle the debt on 15/09/2010.

As the employees were trying to charge my card the owner / manager Mr. Sumit arrived and informed us that we can’t change our mode of payment. I told him that my father has already deposited the amount in my account and I dont have a cheque book so it would have to be my credit card. He went on from being rude to ruder stating that he cant accept that. I told him I would speak to his accounts department and explain our problem to which he replied he is the accounts department and his answer is no. Never once he offered to call his head office and try to make a request on our behalf that if something can be done. Furthermore he put on his sunglasses in the middle of our conversation and would not look at us straight when we were talking to him.

I went home and called customer care with a firm faith that though Mr. Sumit refused to help but the higher authorities would surely help as I wanted to make the full payment and how does it matter which way as long as they get the money. The customer care executive was very understanding and promised to get the higher management to talk to me.

In the mean time my father was out trying to arrange another cheque to get this matter over with and he called and told me he has handed the cheque over. I called and informed the store to not bank the cheque as their customer care was trying to sort out my issue. By now I was so ticked off by their unhelpful nature I only wanted to settle by my card. They said they will wait for the result and I waited for the higher authorities to contact me. I received the call on 16/09/2010 from Mr. Mayank who was as helpful as Mr. Sumit. Important questions I asked and answers I got are as follows:

1. Why didn’t the employees inform my dad that he should be sure of his mode of payment as their iron-clad system (or their management for that matter) deems it even more important than the payment itself?
*Answer was that they never said it could be changed either.

2. What is the reason behind this so called store/brand policy because if you allow us to exchange the product within the 7 days of purchase why can’t we change the mode of payment (as the actual payment would still be made only once the cheque gets cleared at a later date)?
*Answer was that the policy is made by others he doesn’t know the logic behind it; he can only follow it.

Only solution he could come up with was that we buy the same items at the current higher rate of gold on the date of the payment by credit card so the only ones to suffer would be us the customers. I suggested that I would like to just return the items as my parents hadn’t even started using them and be over with this to which I got to know that the store had already banked our cheque against my warning. I am still waiting for Mr. Mayank to revert back and confirm that they would accept the items back and we can stop the payment on the cheque.

LESSON LEARNED :

I wish to clarify the reason I was inclined to write this complaint is not for the management to wake up and apologize for the stupidest policy I ever heard of. I am no longer mad with the store manager and the incompetency of the employees. I am seriously surprised that the higher authorities also barely have any power or may be the desire to understand customer issues. I would like to appreciate the customer care executive Miss Yasmin who could teach a thing or two about how to talk with customers to both Mr. Sumit and Mr. Mayank. She reverted back in record time, was forever polite & called back to check if the authorities had gotten in touch.

The reason I wrote this complaint is to warn all the other people like me who believe in the brand name. Sometimes it’s better to listen to our parents and go to the local stores who would treat you with care and value your relation. Unlike Tanishq who on one hand sent request to my parents to join their anuttara membership after their purchases in the past and on the other hand could not sort out such a small issue to our satisfaction. Never again will I set foot in any of the Tanishq stores as long as I live. And would ensure I warn off as may people as possible as never before a brand has disappointed me so much. Tanishq is the real life example of the proverb ‘Naam bade aur darshan chote.’

coompletely agree with the opinion expressed above. the salesgirl who attented to me was utterly arrogant and rude (infact talking down). when i was shown a particular item, i asked if they have some other designs/collections, she curtly said "you can go to the other shops".
the expressed comments above was happened at the Tanishq's Gariahat store at Kolkata in March 2011.

I am a Golden Harvest Scheme member of Tanishq since May 2010. I have registered myself as an online member. I was able to pay my instalments till July 2010 online. However, I now find it difficult to access the website of the scheme and hence unable to pay my August 2010 instalment. I have tried through various locations but failed. The call centre people said that I will not be able to pay through any other channel except online. My request for standing instructiuons was also turned down by the company. If I don't pay in time, I may lose the benefit of investing in the scheme. Please help.

Tanishq customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
I am also agree with the problem associated with talishq golden harvest scheme.
this is a hopeless and pathatic situation where a TATA GROUP company is unable to provide online facility without hassles.

WILL somebody at TATASONS listen and sortout the problems faced by customers of TANSHQUE jwellery.

I have decided to run a campain against the TANISHQUE schemes amongst my friends, twitter, facebook and consumer forums.

Awareness through such activities should make TATA GROUP to take note of the issue.

      Respected Sir/Mam,

My name is Quadir Salmani and I belong to Agra, I run a beauty parlour and Mens Saloon at Kamla Nagar area in Agra by the name of Labella. Few days back i had applied for a loan of about 15 lakhs from
Tanishq enterprises in Delhi and they sanctioned a loan of 14 lakhs. They had asked me to deposit 2% i.e 28,200 INR on their SBI account number [protected] as a security money which i did, the account is in the name of Mr. Rajiv Kumar. I was promised that the DD for the loan amount will be despatched or deposited to my Canara Bank account but this never happened, after couple of days I was informed by them that i need to deposit the first 2 installments in advance i.e about 20,000 INR then again i was told to credit more 2 instalments which i did i.e 26,020 INR after which they were to deposit the DD on my account but untill today nothing happened. I tried to get in touch with the on the given numbers (+91) [protected]/35 but was not able to get any responce. Also tried to call the MD of the company Mr. Rajendra Sharma but he switched of the telephone, no in the company is ready to given any personal numbers. There are few more people involved in this who's names are as follows Mr. Amit Singh, Amit Kumar, Vivek, Rajesh, Dhananjay, Pradeep Yadav,Piyush and Ranjeet Singh. Today i was promised that I shall get the money but still the same, and in the late evening I was informed by them that I need to deposit more 58,800 INR on the account on which I refused so I was told that I will not get the money in that case. The company is not giving any answers and is not even ready to pay, I asked them to cancel the loan and they say that I need to fax them the refusal letter and then wait for another 15 days for the refund of 80,000 INR that is been credited.

I tried my best to handle them but they do not respond at all. I would be very much obliged if you can please help me out and they are surely doing some big fraud with me and manymore.

I would like to request you to please take an immediate action to it.

        hi,
i recently purchased a 30 grams gold chain from tanishq retail showroom in velachery. after wearing it for around 3 months, i found that it turned to copper color. i took it to them with the bill and warranty card, they asked me to wait so they can send it to the factory to find the defect.
two days back they called me and said, you can take a chain of the same weight from this showroom. i was reluctant because i already lost faith in the quality of gold here.
i asked them if it was possible to refund they said no.
i went there spent some time selecting the chain and while billing they said, `mam, please keep the selected chain and come back after 2 days' since the defective chain has not reached them. i dont understand why they asked me to come there then.
now i am still waiting for them to call.
can i approach the court? i have all bills with me. i dont want their jewellery again. i need a compensation.
        please advise.
        Thank you

        Dear all,
I have purchased a jewellary from salem tanishq shop, where we got very poor service, All staffs are very irresponsible, Actullay we were a regular customer of tanishq but one personal came to me and asked me to enroll in saving schem, He came more then 10 times he told lot of things, I want only one thing that isi cant come to showroom and pay monthly imnstalment as i am in service industry i wont be in station all the time, for the first 7 to 8 months Mr Venkatesh came for collection got money from me, All of a sudden he stopped comming for collection i called many times he told he will come or will send another staff Mr Santhosh for collecting this happened for more than 3 months, Again i called Mr Venkatesh, He gave me very harsh replay ie it is not his responsibilt for collecting money for chit,
Only then i came to know that first six months it is his responsibilyty if he collect the instalment for first six mth only then he get the commission or else his commission he will not get, Now he is careless as he got the commission then after the customer has to suffer, The replay is irresponsible, Actually i have recorded all the conversation with the salem man in salem tanisq showroom,
I am going to file a case in consumer court as i am the consumer counsil member,

          Dear Sir ,

I have exchanged the Old New Tanishq Diamond Pendant for Gold Ring . The Diamond pendant was a year old with a valuation certificate and as per the Tanishq policy they deduct only making charges and Melting charges ( which is 8% from the Current Value of the gold and Diamond) . But in my case they deducted from the purchased value and did'nt tell me the basis of calculation even when asked for they told me we do not tell and give any certificate . Would like to tell you that I ahve purchased the Diamond last year of Rs 10,500 exclusive service for which they have pais only Rs 7000/-

When I have urged them to cancel my transaction Executive at Tanishq Gariahat -Kolkata told me that the bill is prepared we can't roll back and even started behaving badly .

I request you to kindly intervene and help me in getting the clear picture out of this .

          Thanks and Regards
          Manish Varshney

            TANISHAQ — POOR CRAFTSMANSHIP

Purchased a bracelet from M/s Tanishaq on 02.09.2008, due to flawed manufacturing it brokeoff on the 3rd day of purchase (fortunately in the car itself so did't fall off). When it was brough to the notice of TANISHAQ store manager, his reaction was worst then a street vendor and not at all intune to the claims of customer care from TATAs.
all iI can say after that is TATA to TATAs.
Tanishq is a dangerous company. I bough earrings worth 17, 000 /- and when I had tested in Kolkata I was told that few diamonds were of very poor quality. I would buying from tanishq. I am happy with Zaveri. Also, they will not reflect proper points in Arthura Scheme but freely give prizes to few select "pals". I spit at Tanishq!
I am a senior system software engg. in IBM ind pvt ltd., i bought a diamond ring from one of the tanishq jewellery store in bangalore in april 2008, and i was wearing it since than, last week on 25th of december 2009 i gave the ring to tanishq jewellery store for cleaning it.
after cleaning i collect the ring went out of the store, after 10 minutes when i saw the ring i found one diamond lost, immedietely i went to the tanishq store and spoke to the manager.
the manager did not accept the fault in servicing and instead of blaming me for losing the diamond.
what a shame gift from tanishq on the day of X-mas.i wont let it go because its no where my fault.
