Frankfinn is one of the regular customer o[censored]nited India Insurance Company and have give them tremendous amount of business year after year by taking their various insurance policies, viz. Car Insurance, Office, Medical, Fidelity Insurance etc. etc.
Our observation, in as far as their after sale service is concerned, is that is absolutely poor and not at par with competition.
Whenever we have to take New Insurance Policy, they chase us for premium and when it comes to the settlement of insurance claims, they are least bother to settle the same. So many of our claims have yet to be settled by them for the last 2/3 years. By not amicably settling the claims of their customers, they are cheating them.
Looking into our bad experiences we suggest that nobody should deal with this company anymore if you don’t want to get betrayed at the time of settlement of your insurance claim which they will never settle in time.

I have been a Mediclaim policy holder o[censored]nited Indian Insurance Company for many years. The company was providing satisfactory service until MDIndia Healthcare Services (TPA) Pvt. Ltd.,started handling its affairs. I underwent eye surgery at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, on July 6, 2011. MDIndia never responded to mails sent before the surgery. After the surgery 10 bills were sent for reimbursement. MDIndia did not act until at my request United India took up the matter with them. When the payment arrived, I noticed that only one bill was processed. I drew the attention of both United India and MDIndia about the remaining nine bills. A month later, there is no response from either.

I had taken a MEDICLAIM PPOLICY in 1999 for a premium of Rs.2991/- for self and wife.
Till 2009 both are covered under ONE SINGLE POLICY
What is Surprising is for the last two renewals 2010 and 2011 the clauses of Insurance are changed. Differentiating self and wife with different terms. On enquiryUNITED INDIA staff are unable to give any explanation for the changes or who and why it has been done.
As of now I have two Mediclaim Policy nos: 072500/48/10/20/00002182 and 072500/48/10/97/00002183
The Premium went on increasing and stand at Rs.12382/- as on[protected] up to 03-2012.
We have never claimed a single Rupee from United India. We have not even went for free Medical check ups.
Even after 4 months we have not got any intimation from TPA.
Being senior citizen we are at the receiving end.
Hope you will verify this and revert back.

With reference to the above, I would like to inform your good selves that the amount deducted on the grounds of REASONABILITY CLAUSE is not JUSTIFIABLE to me hence needs to inform you the following

                  1. The REASONABILITY CLAUSE means What?

                  a. I had made certain Enquiries at different Hospitals in Suburban areas like MALAD, BORIVALI and so and upon such an enquiry I came to know that the surgery of APPENDIATIS is being charged at the rate of 50,000/- to 60,000/-

                  b. But I preferred DHIRRAL HOSPITAL which is ECONOMICAL for me as well as for the company to settle the claim.

                  PLEASE JUSTIFY!!!

                  2. How the TPA can put all the charges to REASONABILITY CLAUSE such as …

                  a. STAY CHARGES for 10 days which according to the Treating doctor’s decision & requirement of the ailment and for which the doctor had already given clarification to that effect.

                  b. Where as the SURGERY CHARGES are Rs.4,000/- which is quiet NOMINAL and REASONABLE now on this too the TPA had put CUT to all the charges charged by the HOSPITAL

                  PLEASE JUSTIFY!!!

                  CLAIM LODGED: 15 – 03 – 2011

Again requirement as to A/S/F – REQUIRED HISTOPATH REPORT …

I mentioned in the reply of SHORT FALL No. : MUM – 0311 – CL – 0000987 – S02 Dated: 06/06/2011 that the FINAL DECISION is of the treating doctor and according to the treating doctors Advise & Guidance, the HISTOPATH REPORT were not done (Copy of treating doctors certificate attached herewith)

RSBY Card No.[protected] 3 was issued by them in Oct 2009.Based on a press release, I went for renewing this card to Municipal Office Ottappalam. Their representative took my thumb impression and after due verification of my card took a sum of Rs.749/- as premium and told me that the card is renewed and eligible for hospitalisation during illness including chronic deseases like cancer and kidney ailments. He did not issue any receipt not only to me but to some others also. Next day one of my friends Mr Anil went with a similar APL card for renewal. He was told that this APL card can not be renewed. As I got a suspecion, I talked to Divl Manager at Palakkad who inturn gave some numbers of the Co-ordinator. He told me that the APL card can not be renewed and the premium amount so collected would be refunded. I sent a detailed complaint dated 3 June to the Insurance Co, Executive Director, RSBY, Trivandrum and to Mr Adoor Prakash, Health Minister, Govt of Kerala, Trivandrum. As on date no response from any one of them.Somasundaran

Rastriya Swasthya Bima Yojana — Non-response from United India Insurance Co

United India Insurance Co being the nodal agency of Govt of Kerala issued card No.[protected]
under Rashtriya Bima Yojana in 2009.The card was supposed to have been renewed by them on 30th May 2011 at Municipal Office, Ottapalam as per the advertisement in Malayala Manorama . The Representative of New India Assurance collected the premium amount without issuing a receipt. As the said card can not be renewed (APL) I suspected a foul play. Immediately talked to Sr Manager at Palakkad who also confirmed that the premium amount of rs.749/- would be reimbursed by the Co-ordinator.As there was no response, I had written my complaint to Sr Divl Manager on 3 June 2011. As on date he has also not taken any action. I therefore request a detailed enquiry into this episode. The silence on the part o[censored]nited India Insurane increases my suspecion of a possible collaboration.

                        Dear sir,

I, am covered under mediclaim policy since 11/12/2008. My policy details are as follows:

                        A. Policy no. 060305/48/08/41/00001982; period:[protected] to[protected].

                        B. Policy no. 060700/48/09/41/00002269; period:[protected] to[protected].

                        C. Policy no. 060700/48/10/06/00007383; period:[protected] to[protected].

Now i got admitted under treatment of dr. Nayan swadia in the swadia surgical hospital, opp. Kuber bhavan, ravpura, baroda-390001 as on 19/12/2010 for hernia operation and got discharged on 21/12/2010. However your tpa – heritage health tpa pvt. Ltd. Rejected my claim stating “claim during break period of policy” as per there letter dtd. 17/01/2011. (Copy is enclosed for your reference). Now against this reason i have to say as follows:

                        · i had renewed the policy by paying premium cash rs. 30, 471 on 10/12/2010; i. E. On the date of expiry. I have enclosed the manual receipt no. 5438 dtd.[protected] and final printed receipt vide receipt no.[protected] dtd. 13/01/11 in which the payment date 10/12/2010 is clearly mentioned under column of instrument date.

Thus i had paid the premium before the expiring of policy and without any break. However i received the policy with period mentioned as[protected] to[protected].

Hence the break in the policy period is not because of any delay from my side. It is the mistake from your side. I had also written a letter dated 12/02/2011 to heritage health tpa pvt. Ltd., however i got no reply even though after frequent follow ups. My agent mr. Tejas shah also made continuous follow up with your executive mr. Pankil bhatt, however tlll today there is no response/action from your side or from your tpa.

I request you to look in this matter seriously and expedite the file as early as possible as it is already delayed by more than 5 ½ months.

Please do needful and arrange to settle my claim of rs. 53, 512/- within a week or i will be forced to take legal actions.

                        Thanking you,

                        Yours sincerely,

With ref to the above, Till this date no one was taking responsibility and tried ever to skip from the situation.

Why your people rejected the claim and paid later ?

Who's responsibility to coordinate both of you?

Why we have to be punished due to both people inefficiency?

How it can be closed ?

Why abnormal delay happened even after submission of claim forms?

Why it was prolonged by saying that your people not recd the no objection letter from S B I etc..

No one was ready to take responsibility.

Why your people tried ever to defame us by giving false statements ?

We should get the interest from the date of dismisal of my husband up to the date of claim settlment at any cost.

We shold not suffer due to non coordination of your insurance and credit card people.

                          We expect the interest immediately.

                          Th u

                          Dear Madam,

This has reference to your e-mail dated 13th July with regard to payment of Interest charges for the delay in claim settlement. We request you to refere the mail dated 8th July sent by Mr Surenderkumar, Divisional Manager in which it has been clearly mentioned that inspite of our repeated reminders you have submitted the required documents only on 16.7.2008 and moreover we have settled the claim immediately and sent the discharge voucher to you. But then we received the voucher only after 2 reminders and the cheque was sent by Registered Post on 27.08.2008. Under these circumstances there has never been any delay on our part and the payment of penal interest for dealy in claim settlement does not arise. We hope we have clarified your doubts and are treating the grievance as closed.

                          Regards,

                          Dr J S L Prasad,

                            Policy #: 141201/48/09/97/00000545

I renewed the above policy for the third consecutive year from 17/12/2009 to 16/12/2010. Unfortunately I had to undergo Uterus removal surgery at Bangalore. For hospitalization of the said surgery I submitted claim to UIIC at Beawar (the place from where policy was renewed) for Rs.32,541/-.

The repudiation letter was surreptitiously uploaded on TPA's web site without any information via mail or letter. I came to know of this through my agent on my repeated requests for claim status. Since then I have been writing to TPA as well as UIIC at various levels but there is no response from them.

I want solid pressure on UIIC / TPA for early settlement of the claim.

                            Thanks

And the ex-employee bears a part of the fees. SAIL's present tie up is with M/S United India Insurance Co, Ltd (UII) and the ex-employees' claim is settled through the Third Party Administrator (TPA) appointed by the Insurance Co. Since I am settled in Kolkata my case falls under the administrative area of the TPA, viz, M/S MDIndia Healthcare Services (TPA) Pvt.Ltd, 169-Sarat Bose Road, 2nd Floor, Kolkata-700 026 (W.B.).

Unfortunately my wife Mrs. Saswati Deb Sikdar (MIN NO:[protected] had to be hospitalised in Kolkata in a critical condition on 4-4-2011 and diagnosed “Urosepsis with septic shock and multi organ failure. ....She developed episode of hypoxia and bradycardia . She was immediately admitted in the ICU and managed with the mechanical ventrilator, Vesopressors and haemodylasis". Finally she was released on [protected] and in absence of my Mediclaim renewal till then I had to arrange cash payment of the hospitalisation bill of a substantial amount .

On obtaining my Mediclaim renewal confirmation from SAIL / BSL, vide their letter no: BSL/Pers/ Final Settlement Cell/MC/2011, Dated: 19-4-11, I submitted the original hospital bills to the TPA at Kolkata in a file (with 113 page enclosures) on [protected], also enclosing copy of my renewal confirmation letter received from SAIL / BSL for re-imbursement of the bill amount. But on enquiry I could gather from the TPA office that they were still not convinced about renewal of my Mediclaim and my bill has been kept pending. I was taken aback at the level of concern of the TPA authorised by the Insurance Co that they don't feel urgency of bill payment nor do they see reasons for it to communicate, while I am carrying over the interest burden. They neither reply any e-mail query nor the TPA Customer care at their Head Office at Pune (address: S. No. 46/1, E-Space, A2-Wing, 3rd Floor, Pune-Nagar Road, Vadgaonsheri, PUNE-411 014) is accessable through email id given as "[protected]@mdindia.com".

I may have to leave the station for quite a few months, now likely by the 3rd week of June'11. Considering the level of sensitivity of local TPA I don't find any hope of getting my bill re-imbursed shortly, before I leave. It appears that the TPA is going by the principle "Avoid Payment, i[censored]navoidable delay the payment" . But as a retired person I am totally in a soop.

                              Thanks and regards.

My father have been suffering continously from skin and eye infection from past 2 months where the OPD treatment didnt worked, when doctors in one of the TPA network hospitals find that it is critical and emergecy to admit him as continous monitoring ,observation diagonysis and treatment is needed and they cant do it in OPD , treatment etc was informed to the TPA MEDIA ASSIST insurance UNITED INDIA INSURANCE and submitted all the documents requested for along with pre-authorisation form.
After 5 days they DENIED it saying treatment can be done in OPD...We have continously failed treating him in opd and upon doctors insisting us to admit we have done so as its medical emergency and critical which they feared that it may go to skin cancer or leprosy .... but by GOD's grace they treated him well continuosly monitoring his condition. Now today I got in one word DENIED from insurance co when we are getting discharged now.

Its clear and obvious that a emergency admission more than 24 hrs to be re-imbursed,even though its a genuine case they have rejected it.I request the authorities to take action on this.AND ALSO REQUEST EVERY ONE NEVER OPT FOR UNITED INDIA INSURANCE AS THESE PEOPLE ARE THE WORST IN INDUSTRY.
