[Resolved]  Urban Company — Slipshod service and unresolved problems despite assurances

We sought the services o[censored]rban Clap for cleaning of our washrooms at our residence in Lucknow. Being the first time we did have high expectations however our experience with the workman assigned has been most disappointing. At the outset, on first contact Suraj Sharma(Mobile [protected]) the designated cleaner, attempted to negotiate the day and timing of his visit. However he was firmly told that he was required to visit us as per our convenience and not his. He eventually turned up on the designated day though later than the appointed hour. Thereafter he proceeded to tackle the 3 bathrooms with constant requests for assistance from us which was provided. To his credit he took his time, however at the end of the session there were major shortcomings in at least 2 of the bathrooms, in that some areas were either overlooked or done in a inadequate manner. These shortcomings only got highlighted post his departure when we carried out a detailed inspection of the same wherein wall tiles and glass panels were found to be discoloured/inadequately cleaned. Within minutes of his departure we informed him of these issues on his mobile number which he had given us. He assured that he would come in the next day and make amends. However for the next 4-5 days he has been giving false assurances by way of cryptic responses when called or through SMS messages. We do concede that prior to his departure he was paid in cash and given a 5 star rating for services rendered based on his request. We acceded in good faith and decency. We continued to give him the benefit of doubt in the belief he would make good his commitment both personally, and more importantly for the Company and brand name he represents. Now one week later we are convinced that he is just a smooth talker who believes his customers don't matter. However I do believe that that is not what Urban Clap stands for and has a reputation to live upto. As a senior veteran of the Armed Forces this whole episode has left us disappointed and disgusted. Such workers shall do your Company no good, let alone disillusioned customers like us.
