I am writing to bring to your attention an issue regarding the pacemaker installed for my father, Hasmukhlal Vrajlal Muchhala, on June 2, 2018. During a recent test, we discovered that the pacemaker has stopped functioning, causing his heart pulse drop to 30.
As the pacemaker is still under warranty, we coordinated with the sales representative through the hospital on 05.09.2024 and the operation was held on 09.09.2024. However, we were charged for the following components:
Document Cost: ₹4, 130 - I paid on 09.09.2024
Replacement Cost: ₹17, 700 - I paid on 09.09.2024
Pacemaker Lead Cost: ₹42, 000 (approximate) - Pending
Despite the pacemaker being under warranty, we have to pay such a big amount under warranty. I kindly request you to look into this matter and assist in refunding the amount paid to the sales representative.
For any further queries/ documents, you may contact me on my personal email or phone number [protected].
Abbott customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
We would like to bring to your attention the response shared in November 2024 (attached). Based on the concern you raised and after a thorough review of the circumstances, the documentation charges were refunded to you. The replacement charge levied was solely for the replacement service. The warranty covers device replacement but does not include service charges or lead. The lead replacement was a clinical decision of Doctor and lead charges were collected by the hospital, therefore we request you to connect with them directly.
