I am a customer of Rentomojo for more than 1.5 years, I have placed a new request and the KYC verification department is asking for confidential documents like salary slip/bank statement which I feel is not the right way of doing the KYC by a renting company. I have provided them the offer letter, ID card and other necessary govt proofs but no luck on the verification.

I had raised a complaint to close my bike subscription since the same was lying idle for past 2 months due to covid-19 pandemic situation.

Such a pathetic company. No ethics, least bothered about customer relations and services. Wish someone can take stringent actions on this company for taking customer on a ride during the difficult situations we all have been going through.
The have overcharged me on the recent product that i took on rent. I have closed my contract with them on 24 april 2020 and they have not been able to serve me, though the restrictions have not affected them, they have taken advantage of the situation. The product was finally picked up on 22nd may after a numerous follow-ups and until now the refund has not been processed. Its 2nd of june now and i have been given all false assurances. They have been continuing to give false assurances. I am sure the money that i have paid has gone to these crookes and will not come back. Just hoping that some stringent actions to be taken on such companies and save other consumers from this grieving journey that i have gone thru.

Order aas supposed to be delivered on may 22. Still waiting. Customer service not helping. Called, texted email more than 20 times. The only response we are getting is that will arrange call back but no one is helping. We moved to the new house and these order is necessary.

Rent is charged even after closing the agreement
I rented a refrigerator and a washing machine in Mumbai in Jul'19 from Rentomojo and closed my contract wef 15th April 2020 and the same has been accepted by Rentomojo.
I am in Chennai from 15th Mar 2020 and not living in Mumbai, so not using the appliances.
Rentomojo is not arranging the pickup and keep charging me monthly rent while the items are not being used and there in the closed house.
Their customer service is not responding for email and not reachable by phone.
Please help me in this regard
Desired solution : Rentomojo to pickup the items and stop charging the rent. If they cannot arrange pickup, they need to stop collecting the rent as the items are not in use

charge after closure the subscription completed for a year

I cancelled an order from rentomojo after completion as due to lockdown they could not collect their furniture and charge without my permission. When i try connecting to the customer support, nobody picks up the call.
I have emailed them multiple times regarding the same. Rentomojo team does not respond to the email either.
It's ridiculous that at the time of registration every customer care executive will call you again and again to complete the pending documents and details but at the time of complaint they become unresponsive.
Very disappointed with the service.

I cancelled an order from rentomojo as they haven't refunded the security deposit yet. When i try connecting to the customer support, nobody picks up the call.

rentomojo charging more rental

While placing an order with rentomojo i have used a coupon code which would give 50% discount max 500 rs on my monthly rental as per below message from rentomojo.
But now they are asking for full rentals without discount and when i contacted the customer care they say you did not apply any coupon code.
They don't even provide details of coupon code being applied

Rentmojo first accepts payment and then asks for all personal details including pan, facebook etc and many other details
Please stay away from rentmojo company until they change completely.
They first show very attractively priced articles on advertisements. Once you start clicking, you start seeing the catch, which is that they try to lock you in for 3 years. If you choose a lower tenure, the rentals are higher. They then ask for deposit. After you somehow pay, they start sending sms, email, whatsapp messsages that your profile is not complete and they need it for processing the order.
The order stays stuck. (Will update when i have further news).
Please stay away from rentmojo company until they change completely.

false information and bad customer support
Bangalore - oct 19: at the time of booking i was guaranteed a 72 hrs delivery, just to match the timings with furlenco, i believe. Now after 48 hrs as well i have not received any call back, i have called 6 times and have been promised a call back within a few hours but none has been done so far.
Now they say it can be delivered probably by after 2 or 3 days, for that also they are not giving certainty. Hence wherever it says 72 hrs they actually mean maybe by 144 hrs, this is clearly false information/advertisement.
Even if i try booking the same product now they are still showing delivery in next 3days, and even for me they are saying it might be delivered in another 3 days.
Now they say it can be delivered probably by after 2 or 3 days, for that also they are not giving certainty. Hence wherever it says 72 hrs they actually mean maybe by 144 hrs, this is clearly false information/advertisement.

Deposit amount of led tv 6 month subscription - rs. 3200
I have another subscription of automatic washing machine. Rent - 819/month
On 12th august 2019, i paid the rent for july via net-banking using 'pay now' option in the app. As there was a delay from the bank's side to settle credit card amount - rs. 1187.
5 days later, on 17th august 2019, credit card transaction was settled by the bank and rs. 1187 were deducted from my account.
Ideally rentomojo should consider this as the rent for august.
However, when the deposit amount was settled, i received rs. 1194 (See the calculation below)

819 - rent for washing machine
1187 - extra rent charged for august
Customer service is pathetic and is not able to understand simple math here.
I want to file a case against rentomojo in consumer forum.

worst policies to trick customers

I recently needed a fridge at my place on rent. So I posted request on OLX, from where these team of frauds from rentomjo starts tricking you. A guy named Naveen and number [protected] calls me and says, I am from rentomojo and we gets the ads posted on OLX from some random brokers on our behalf. However, he pretended to be helpful and even said I will be assisting you till delivery which is a fake thing.
Their app takes each and every details from you upfront clearly but never mention anywhere that they will not even deliver making excuses that we were unable to reach and our message servers were not working. So, this guy, naveen guided me to download app and fill in details for KYC, after which this guy just vanished. Not taking calls and not available. After trying for customer care, I myself had to get the details verified as their app sucks a lot and they fail to check that I have already paid the deposit. Now, after a lot of effort, KYC finally approved and i thought fridge will get delivered, but no, they started making excuses like our message servers were not working so we could not sent a message. Upon asking when u will finally deliver, the guy said we only deliver between 12-4 . Now upon taking customer's PAN card, bank details, picture, Office ID proof. how come they fail to provide this important information upfront on their app . And when i said why didnt u tell me before, that fraud guy who called for delivery, "Appne mail kyun ni dekha".
Who in this busy life will read your timings from a mail instead of company telling on the very first call when Naveen guy was so desperately tricked to get fridge from them

I have booked a smartphone from rentomojo they took 4998 deposit from me and cancelled my order and told me they will refund my my amount in 24 hrs now it's more than 24 hrs still the refund is not credited in my account.and customer service also pathetic.

We have a fridge, a washing machine and a microwave on rent, we got 1 daydelayed in paying the rent this month. The person from rentomojo came and started misbehaving with my flatmate, she was not even able to walk properly as she had serious injuries. He came and started banging and shouting at her while she was alone. I don't understand when they have the security with them what is this way of misbehaviour with their customers. Because of this she was really upset and started crying,

1. I am relocating to a new place and hence contacted rentomojo around a month ago for rent to own. After 10 days a representative named mohmad replied with estimated cost.
2. Meanwhile i started getting calls from rentomojo for payment reminder of the june month. Around 3 people called me after every 2 days and i kept on informing them that i have asked for rent to own and i am willing to buyout the product. Each one of them told me that the concerned department will contact you immediately, but no on contacted me. I also informed the 3rd representative that last 2 representative told me i would receive a call from rent to own department but i never did and he repeated the same.
3. I wrote an email to customer care requesting an update on my rent to own request req[protected] and a representative named vikram raja replied that rent to own has been suspended and is no more available. I informed him that just 10 days back i was given a quotation for the same thing and how can you all of a sudden reply back saying it is not possible. He has't responded post that.
4. I called up customer care on 22nd june around 3:24 pm ist and spoke to a representative named purnabha.
A. I explained her everything and she said i spoke to concern department and you will be receiving an email in another 10 mins from them. I told her to confirm the same via email or just send an email regarding the discussion we had. She declined saying she cant do that and i was surprised as to what kind of customer care is this. I asked her 2-3 times to send some sort of confirmation but she declined and just provided me the reference number for the conversation, ref no: 590718.
B. I asked her to sort this issue over call itself but she again declined saying that is not possible.
C. I asked her the procedure to close the subscription and she said that has to be requested online. I informed that a close request was already raised by me few days ago, she informed that the request was closed due to my rent to own request.
5.in a nutshell, the worst customer representatives i have ever experienced. None of them was skilled enough to track down the conversations i had with the rent to own team and i had to ask them to look for it and provide all the details every time. To ask for money rentomojo gives a call reminder, to extend the subscription i received a call every 2 months and that was done on phone itself, but when i want to get my queries sorted over call apparently that is not possible. I rented the appliance from you guys for more than an year and this behaviour towards customer is not acceptable. I think rentomojo does not yet know what customer retention or what harm reviews and complains cause to the business.

Debit of explanation of rs 2645.53 from my card as a rental payment of three items i subscribed where as the actual rent is only rs 1345.
I don't know, how they calculate 24-48 hours of resolution time as i am still waiting for an update.

You guys are big time cheaters! Cheat the customers by bluffing and resorting to all sort of evasive answers. Don't think your cheap tactics will take you long.
I booked an ac on rent on 5th march 2019, on the confirmation of the ac being in stock. I immediately made the payment of 4800+1500=6300 online on the promise that the ac would be installed in 2-3 days time.
Your team kept on asking for my personal pan, bank and salary proofs in the name of verification formalities.
Despite that, the ac is still not installed! On constantly following up with the call center, i keep on hearing different answers for my order status saying the ac is no more in stock, the delivery guys are not able to reach my number, the stabliser is not in stock so on and so forth!
My question is, when the ac was not in stock, why was it displayed on the website?
Why was i asked to make the payment on day 1?
I am going to drag this case to the court if i don't get my money back and if this is not addressed!

I got a call from Shashwat through olx he is an employee of rento mojo and he calculated the total rent of 3 months for washing machine and fridge as total 1100 each.this amount is for 3 months which means approx 375 per month it would cost me.He was calling and messaging every now and then so I decided to go with that and paid the security deposit to book both the items.Later I got to know that they increased the security deposit by cancelling an order and replacing the fridge order so I have to pay deposit again.
Today I got 5 different calls from different girls from Rentomojo’s verification team with completely different and insane information on each and every call.finally they cause me loose my patience when they said on cancellation they would refund the money into rento mojo wallet not into my bank directly.first they were making an excuse of KYC and documentation.once I completed KYC Then they started making an excuse of availability and hence asked me to cancel all three orders and then place fresh new order by paying more money.one girl also asked to use a different number for booking new items.and other girl Sahana said that the money will not be refunded to bank it gets adjusted in rento mojo wallet for future transactions.
I don’t find a procedure to cancel my order and no one is available to answer my calls.Shashwat stopped answering my calls.His senior Aditya is saying give me time till evening and then till morning.he doesn’t have any answers to my query so he just gives me another time and ask to wait.but never calls back.Hence it won’t be possible for me to deal with such a FRAUD company in future.Kindly ask them to refund my full money that I paid as they are unable to deliver the products and they don’t have a contact helpline to contact as their mentioned numbers are never available.They don’t have an internal system where they verify the information with each other.They don’t know the difference between fridge and refrigerator.They don’t have an immediate response team.Their system overcharges the customers directly from their credit card.I wonder what their products would be like.

I ordered furniture from rentomojo on 12 dec 2018. From 12 dec to 20 dec rentomojo did not bother to tell me that my delivery area is unserviceable, instead kept on asking for documents for kyc. I had paid my security deposit too. On 20 december i called to ask about the delivery as it was more than a week since i had ordered, the reply comes your area is not serviceable. The company did not even bother to inform this on their own. Frustrated i asked for cancelling tth order and refunding the security deposit. To which the reply comes we can cancel the order in next 48 hours. After so much harassment one has to wait for another 48 hours till the order is cancelled and the process of money return is initiated. The company is a fraudster, having expertise in harassing people. One might shout, yell at the customer service agents but they are used to this and continue with their scams. Please please don't book your furniture from there. Also the calling charges to the customer service are abnormally high. No normal calling rates apply.

fake commitment for product cancellation

I have ordered one Small Sofa from Rentomojo and once I have seen that delivery is delayed more than 5 days ( that was committed for 3 days) I have sent an email to cancel the subscription.
I spoke with few customer support people and they committed that If I will cancel then it will be charged but if customer support will cancel then I will not be charged. Khushbu (Executive) have cancelled the subscription but I have been charged for 2600 unnecessary . Which was committed that there will be no cancellation charge.
So I have paid 1860 Deposit
and I have been charged 2607
Total 4467 I have been charged for the product which I have never used neither cancelled by me.
I spoke with few customer support people and they committed that If I will cancel then it will be charged but if customer support will cancel then I will not be charged. Khushbu (Executive) have cancelled the subscription but I have been charged for 2600 unnecessary . Which was committed that there will be no cancellation charge.
So I have paid 1860 Deposit
and I have been charged 2607
Total 4467 I have been charged for the product which I have never used neither cancelled by me.

I have already paid my rent on time, still my deposit amount is cleared

I have done a payment on 10th nov-2018 of my rent, after sending themm no. Of mails and calls, they are adding interest on daily or weekly basis.
After getting frustrated, i asked them to come and take away all the furniture. Now they have swapped my all deposit amount and paying me 315 rs.
This is not done at all. I have shared reference no. And all the related screenshots to their id still no revert.

poor furniture quality and over charging
Company claims are all wrong. Poor quality furniture and over charging on every bill.. No good support from the team and there is hooliganging over collection of rent.in spite of regular raising of concern no good hospitality is provided rather the staff is so rude and all they ask for is unaccountable charges. Bill keeps increasing every other month for no reason.

Rentomojo based out of bangalore "[protected]@ rentomojo.com" rendered me services of renting household articles/ appliances. They delivered the products including ac on 23rd of july however installation didn't take place for 3 days until i made follow up with them. Now when installation guy came after so many follow ups, he just messed things up and now after so many calls and emails there is no reply from so called leading service provider.

I placed an order, paid advance, and have not been refunded, neither have the products been delivered. I have called everyday, spent hours trying to get an update on status of delivery but they dont seem to care about customers at all.

refund not received for over a month

Subscription was closed on 15th June with proper return. They validated the items and processed refund. Now the status is done but I'm yet to receive the amount. I lodged a complaint on their portal for the same on 4th July. Even shared a valid bank statement for the time duration with transactions details showing. The team replied that a certain refund team will look into it, but I have not yet received any reply. A certain Vikram Raja and Simran Khan have been just dodging my mails with the same reply. This is very unprofessional behavior and lack of customer support. Horrible from Rentomojo and I would suggest consumers look at other companies in a competitive market so that they dont face such circumstances

request for getting my refundable deposit back from rentomojo

I need to lodge a complaint against RentoMojo as they have deducted my refundable deposit for the Air cooler which I have rented from them.
The case is as per below :
I took an Air cooler from Rentomojo for 3 months subscription plan (Startng from 7-May-2018) (Order:[protected] Rent was of Rs. 1089 per month and refundable deposit of Rs. 1350.
On the start of 3rd month of my plan, I communicated to the customer care team of RentoMojo that I will be terminating my subscription on the end of my tenure plan i.e. (7-Aug-2018).
The customer care team said that they will take care of the same. then after 5 days, the logistics team came to my home and asked that the cooler needs to be returned now. I said to them that this needs to be picked up on my end of subscription plan. They said they dont know anything, please contact customer care team. I called them and waited for 30 minutes on hold but didnt got any feedback. Then the logistics team said that they cant wait and they need to leave and they took away my cooler.
Now surprisingly the RentoMojo team did the adjustment of my deposit and they refunded only Rs. 43.
Now when I am trying to mail / call customer care team, nobody is providing any feedback and everyone is saying that you need to bear Early closure charges and we are subtracting your deposit amount. For details, they used to say that they will arrange a callback which never happened.
This is a case of customer harassment and my deposit amount is now eaten up by these people.
Please help me getting my deposit and the detailed calculation of the rent paid by me as they have charged me rent as well and didnt used up my credits which were already there in my account.

rentomojo delivery cancellation for the furniture

This is to notify you about a serious concern which i am having from your company. I have applied for some room furniture from you.
The request for the same has already been confirmed by you after placing the order.
But when the delivery truck has reached to my location, he denied to deliver the furniture there. As per his words, there are some internal issues which he hasn't shared much with me for not delivering the material.
I really am seeking a response for such behavior of your company which really have disappointed me. All the payments and other procedures been done by me already, but at the last moment, i got to know that the material cannot be delivered.
Since it has consumed so much to my time to coordinate, please respond on to such undesired behavior of your team and let me know the reason why it has not been delivered.
This is not acceptable to me. Thus, would advise you to look into this matter and if possible, arrange the delivery of the material with no further delays.

fake assurance after doing the payment

I have ordered one ac and one refrigerator.. When placing the order i have done the payments including ac installation fee.
After placing the order i got confirmation like product will be delivered with in 2 3 days but after that i didn't get my product and when i called to the customer care they are saying product is out of stock while i was placing the order product was there after calling so many times i got my product 5 days later.
But after that also problem didn't resolved.. They are not installing the a. C till now it should be done with in 48 hours but it's already 5 days passed away after my product is delivered to me.. I have rented washing machine from Rentomojo. The product was packed and when I opened seen a little bulge on the bottom l. When I questioned delivery person he stated that is a design. But after unpacking and tried pouring water inside., found that it was broken on the base.
