I recently purchased a new pack of tata salt lite. When opened it smells like chlorine, very pungent. After using it in food, the food also tastes like metallic and has a chlorine like taste....

The Tata salt lite new pack has pungent chlorine smell on opening and also makes the entire food smelling chlorine. I repurchased from other store and same problem. Have been using tata salt lite for many years now...

Opened a new pack of Tata salt lite and it had strong weird pungent smell. There were few lumps otherwise it looked good. Have been using Tata salt for decades now. Few months back had salt little bluish color. Very light. But ignored. No idea what's happening with Tata.

While using Tata Rock salt I felt like sand in my mouth and for confirmation purpose I dissolved in water and filtered and pressed with fingers and confirmed.

Very disappointed with the company. We use the salt for daily cooking, how can we trust on the quality of the product. Today I have found a "Bidi" in the packet. I purchased this packet from the "MORE" store situated in manipal, udupi city. Will you take responsibility of our health if something goes wrong due to the chemical reaction from the tabacco. A known company like yours is not maintaining the quality and you are playing with the consumers health.

I'm going to lodge a complaint to customer grievance. I need a reply back from the TATA Salt for this. Such company should be banned from manufacturing.

From today i never use this salt its injurious to health and plz maintain quality and safe place not this type that you pack insect incase anyone family member use its injurious to helath. Even i can't believe how this is possible.

I have been buying tata salt for years without complaints. About six months back i shifted to using tata salt lite. But this month i got a packet which had a strange smell and when used in food, had a chemically taste (A taste which i have come across in vegetables with excessive pesticide usage). Unfortunately i did not realise the smell and taste was from salt for some time and hence i did not save the packet. But i still have the salt....

Bought Tata salt low sodium salt and am using Tata salt since childhood however the colour is changed and I have uploaded the photo too which itself is a proof where and the colour of the salt is changed I.e. Black want to know the reason behind as we but the product with blind faith however seems due care is not being taken while manufacturing the product hope my concern will be taken care of and let me know if this salt will be replaced too or not

I recently purchased a packet of "tata salt lite" from metro cash and carry. but within 10 days the salt turned black and the container also smudged black. i had stored the sale in a tupper ware plastic container. please let me know the side effects on our health by consuming this salt. i am intending sending the salt to a nearby lab. however, i am using a new packet of tata salt lite. but i want to make sure that consuming...

i bought 1 kg tata salt at
Rs 16.but i found that weight is not appropriate, its weight is only 980gm.As far as i concerned that i am using it since my childhood and i confermed that my neighbours are also using it.Today, the tata produces 450,000 tonnes every year.so i got 20gm less weight in per kg.
since we buy 980 gm in Rs16,hence 20gm cost is Rs0.326.so there has been scam of approx Rs13500000 per year.

On 24th June 2011, I purchased one packet of Tata salt from my colony shop ( Tiwari store at Garia, near Kavi Nazrul Metro Station) in Kolkata. On opening the packet, to my surprise, I found one smoked bidi end mixed in the salt. Though I couldn’t believe my eyes but I had to accept that, it was a bidi end in the salt.The salt is having bad smell of the bidi making it unfit for consumption. Important details written on the packet like: packed on 05/2011 Batch No HO with Bar Code[protected]. Now I am at fix as what to do with this packet of salt. Though I have still kept that packet of salt, I am still at shock.

Tata Salt is widely used by housewives, hotels and restaurants, and by manufacturers of packaged snacks, colas and namkeens because to its purity and reliable quality. But If this is what we call quality than only God can save us.

Is Tata salt going the way its competitor went? Where is its usual salinity? It is not salty enough these days. There's a chance that a recipe might go wrong if you use the same measurement of salt. Or should it be used as a RANGOLI POWDER? I would very much like to see it as before. then only it will be Our Indian Salt,
