I was in the training room via phone in and Mrs. Lee was discussing Teladoc. She said, “ Why would anyone want to use Teladoc?” I took it as a question and was answering her. I was saying that It was a 24/7/365 medical service that people can use to see a doctor in the comfort of their own home. That is was convenient since you did not have to go anywhere to get the medical care you need. Nothing more than I would say to a caller asking about Teladoc on the phone. I had muted myself and next thing I heard was Mrs. Lee asking me to continue. I took that as her wanting me to finish or give more detail. I said, Ok, what else would you like to hear about in regards to Teladoc? She was rather nasty and said that she wanted me to finish her module. I said I am sorry however I am not understanding you. She then said, well you interrupted me and I thought you would want to finish it for me. I responded to her that I heard her ask a question and I was just responding to it. I repeated her question and apologized to her because I took it as she was asking a question. She kicked from the room. I got on my laptop and tried to join via teams and there was all kinds of chat and on there. Mrs Lee then asked who let me in and was again being rude. She then kicked me out again and I had said nothing.
I get it that this training has been all crazy and has not gone on as planned for any o[censored]s and that some are asking the same questions repeatedly and it is annoying. Others are just acting childish, see the attached photos of some of the chat from today. It is sadly like this all the time. It is her job as the trainer, to get things under control, without poor treatment to anyone. I feel bad for her that some are not acting like adults, it is not an excuse to be nasty to others. She has to remain professional. Well, that has not happened.
However, I was not the 1st person she has been rude too. I signed up for a new job and a new learning experience in life. This has not been a very plesent one. She really talks down to people and a lot of people are complaining about the behavior. I am an adult and not a dog and that is how she was talking to me. I was not being rude, disrespectful, or cursing her. All I did was answer a question. There was by no means reason for any of that behavior. This has not been the first time she has been nasty to others as well as myself. This is a very poor business practice to follow.
Nobody should be treated that way by an employer, trainer, or co worker. This violates laws that are in place to prevent people from being treated that way. I am not very happy about the matter and being spoken to in such a way. It is completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, she was also talking about me in a foul manner when I did get in the training room. How is that good business practices? I have been repeatedly as well as others insulted, belittled, demeaned, degraded, and disrespected by Mrs. Lee. That is uncalled for and it is for no real reason. As I stated, I only answered a question. I did nothing more than that. Instead of saying it was rectoral, or on the module (since I was Audio Only), I got this treatment. Totally uncalled for behavior.
I get it that things were not the best today, It disrupts us all when unwanted behavior takes place. I was not doing a single horrible wrong thing. While people are yelling, cussing, and stopping the training process I was not involved and stayed out of it all. I was not at fault for this happening to me today. I am really upset by it all. Nobody should be subjected to that kind of treatment. I am grateful to my agency for their understanding in this matter and all the support given to me. At the very least, an apology should be given to all o[censored]s in this training class for this most unacceptable treatment. We can however not force anyone to do anything against their will. Bottom line, this is not professional, appropriate responses or behavior. Nobody should be subjected to this.
I hope that this helps others understand, that things are not going well in this training class, and that we need to have those that can act on a professional level. There is no excuse that can be made for this atrocity. This is truly unacceptable of anyone to do in a business. I pray that nobody else has to have this treatment inflected on them. It is appalling! I honestly lack the words for such horrid treatment. I did reaffirm today, that at least even though I was treated horribly by one person, that I did not take my anger out on others. I learned something about my self and my ability to remain calm. That I can direct my mail to the right address and not take things out on others.
I had spoken to my agency early this morning and informed them that if I had one more issue with Lee Mann I was resigning. I had more problems with her today so I resigned. I can’t work in such a hostile environment and she has created one. While I was talking yesterday somebody else said “ she is such a “ b***h (wasn’t even going to type that word to finish the exact quote). That is just one example of the utter chaos in that class. I was talking and again someone else was talking at the same time. Not unusual for that group. I understand that I was accused of saying that. It was not me. Doesn’t matter anymore cause I am done with the madness that is cognizant. I will be happier not dealing with the daily fighting, yelling, insults from Lee Mann and others in the class.. It is not remotely acceptable to act that way. Highly unprofessional for anyone and can open up lawsuits for any business that allows that behavior. I am grateful I am not their employee cause I would be hiring a lawyer for her behavior, and when it was reported, her retaliation for doing so. Completely unethical and very inappropriate to be doing.
I understand that many have left this class alone due to Lee Mann and more will surely follow and left most likely before me due to her. This is not the first time she has acted this way. I have seen it more then 25 times in the short time I was in that class. I would have left day one, but I thought well it is just a stressful day. It was stressful for her everyday apparently. She made sexual remarks in class and racial ones as well, not that either were directed at me, it is just not acceptable. She just can’t do those things as well as belittle, demean, degrade, abuse, harass, and create an undesirable, and highly hostile work environment. I just can’t keep subjecting myself to that kind of headache for a job. It is not worth it. It is not a business I want my name tied to. That is completely unprofessional. It makes me wonder how professional the rest of the company is. Seriously think about that one. WOW!!
I mean seriously, yesterday after I logged on to the laptop to join off audio, she was trashing me to the entire class. Then she fumed “Who the hell let her back in the class? Who let Donnie York in? When I find out I am going to kick you out too?” What kind of professional behavior is that? What company hires and retains employees like that? That is completely uncalled for. All I can say, is good luck to all of you at cognizant with Lee Mann there I fear you will have a lot more problems in the future. Hopefully you can retrain her or something like that so she doesn’t continue that behavior before someone does file a lawsuit. Just saying, the way the world is today, it doesn’t take a lot to get sued anymore. It is a crazy, hurt world we live in these days, sadly it is the way of it. Things in life were much simpler years ago.
I do however want to thank you for reminding me, with going thru this ordeal, that the people in my agency are AMAZING folks and that there are still decent people in the world today. Also that I am a very cool headed, and even tempered person with good morals, values, and a lot of common sense. That I can despite the issues experienced still maintain a calm self. That I am rational, respectful, honest, and a fine CSR and will be an asset to anyone. Thanks for that reminder of my finer qualities. I am grateful.
