[Resolved]  Airtel - Prepaid — Unauthorised charges

My cell number is [protected]. I am a prepaid customer of Airtel.

For the last 2 months everyday Re.1 is taken away by Airtel from my prepaid account. May be it is for "Daily Prayer" which they are sending me. I requested them several times to stop sending me "Daily Prayer". But they are not acting on my request to stop the "Daily Prayer". They continue to deduct Re.1 daily from my account. This is very very unfair for a person who has completed 70 years of age and living on the meagre pension. My attempts to contact 198 to lodge a complaint has been in vain since no one responds and you are politely requested to wait, wait, wait and indefinitely wait for ever. If this continues I will discontnue my Airtel connection once the balance is fully stolen by Airtel people.

airtel prepaid sims — after getting recharged airtel fails registration without legal reason

After buying a sim from airtel and getting recharged for an year Airtel blocks the number and finishes it giving an excuse that we have not received your docs.Somebody tell me that at the time of activation they first ask for docs. and then they activate the no. Then how can they say that they have not received the docs. And this is not the last thing, they also sell that no. to other customer.When you have sold a no. to one customer and got it recharged for an year after receiving the payment do they have right to sell the same no.within three months to another customer. Is this not a fraud to the customer ? Kindly stop this wrong practise immediately.

Airtel Prepaid — LURING MESSAGES OF PRIZE WINNING

ON MY NUMBER [protected] RECEIVED MESSAGE OF WINNING 2500 DOLLOR UK , ON DIALLING IT , FOR A LONG TIME IT COMPUTER VOICE BEATING BUTCH AROUND THE BUSH . CONFIRM COMPANY PRESS ONE OTHER WISE TWO , COUNTRY PRESS ONE AND TWO FOR FOUR FIVE MINUTES AND CALL CUT ..... AND MY BALANCE CAME TO RUPEES 9 THAN I WAS IN A CRUNCH TO SEE THAT THIS WAS INTERNATIONAL CALL AND I WAS ROBBED FOR SOME 54 RUPEES.
HOW TO STOP SUCH ROBBERIES , CAN ANY ONE SUGGEST, WHERE TO SUIT SUCH CULPRITS.

I AM GIVING AN EXPERIENCE WITH A REQUEST 1) TO GIVE ME SUGGESTION AND 2) IF ANY AIRTEL OFFICIAL SEES THIS TO TAKE STEPS TO CHANGE/AMEND RULES LIKE THIS. 3) ALSO GIVE ME EMAIL IDS OF TELECPOM REGULATORY AUTHORITY OR IS THERE ANY FORUM WE CAN MAKE A COMPLAINT LIKE OMBUDAMAN. 4) TO LET AIRTELPREPAID CUSTOMERS TO BE AWARE OF SUCH A PROVISION AND TAKE NECESSARY STEPS LIKE RECHARGING ONCE IN THREE MONTHS.
YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT ONE INDIVIDUAL CHEATING. I WILL TELL YOU STRATEGY ADOPTED BY AIRTEL INDIA FOR GETTING PUBLIC MONEY UNDULY. I HAD PREPAID CONNECTION NO.[protected] AND I CHARGED THEM WITH RS.4200+ AND I LEFT TO USA IN JULY 2009. WHEN I RETURNED BACK ON 6TH JANUARY 2010 THE REGISTRATION OF LINE FAILED. REASON - AIRTEL PREPAID HAS A CLAUSE - IF ONE DOES NOT USE THE LINE FOR OUTGOING FOR 90 DAYS OR RECHARGES ONCE IN 90 DAYS THE CONNECTION CAN BE DEACTIVATED. HERE NORMALLY U WILL HAVE PEOPLE HOLDING MONEY IN HUNDREDS. BUT THE SAME RULE IS APPLIED IN CASES LIKE MINE WHERE THERE IS A BALANCE OF 4200+.MY EFFORTS TO CONTACT THE NODAL OFFICE HAS NOT BEEN FRUITFUL. NOW I HAVE ONLY OPTION OF GOING ON LEGAL ACTION . NOW I TOOK AIRCEL CONNECTION [protected] AND AM THINKING IS IT WORTH PROCEEDING AGAINST AIRTEL LEGALLY. BUT AIRTEL IS A BIG CORPORATION WITH FUNDS AND THEY CAN FACE SUITS. RULES ARE MADE WITHOUT PROPER THINKING AND RULES ARE NOT EXPLAINED TO PEOPLE IN PERSON OR THROUGH EMAIL. EMAIL ID ARE TAKEN AND ARE NOT USED. EVERY ACTION HAS BECOME COMPUTERISED INHUMAN APPROACH.

Airtel Prepaid — Unauthorised charges, unwanted messages.

This is is the second time this had happened to me. The first time, Airtel sent bikini alerts to me for around 15 days and deducted Rs.1 per day. I had never asked for the bikini alerts and i called them daily and asked them to stop. Every single day, they gave me different ways to stop it, none of which worked. Finally, after 15 days of calling EVERY SINGLE DAY they stopped.

Now they're sending cricket alerts, charging Rs.3 per day. To call them to talk to a customer service executive, you have to atleast set an hour aside because to get to the person you have to hear dozens of prerecorded messages and by the time i got to talk to the person i was close to tears. She told me to dial *321#. This number again directs you to 100s of other things that you have to dial, none of which specifically say 'deactivate'. I called customer service again, this time that person gave me another number to send a text message to, and said that the balance will not be credited to my account unless i dial another number and do something else.

This process is so stressful and torturous and arbitrary! Shouldn't a person be asked if they want these alerts before forcing them to go through all this? I realy don't have time time for this. It's like i have to struggle and fight for my rights and for what? I've decided to switch to another service provider. I've had enough of Airtel's torture.

Airtel debit unauthorised charges from my mobile and a message appear in inbox from no. 543216 as .. Your airtel freindz chat service has been renewed. renewal charges Rs.30- for 30 days . Dial 543216 now to make new freinds. For lodgement of complaint or deactivate the services, 121 gives computerised messages .. dial 198 for complaints . On dialling 198 .. a no. of times, every time message appear .. Number not available.
We dont know .. whom to contact in case of any compalint for the services . No email address for any complaints to be lodged.

Can I know whom to conatct and at what number for lodging compalints of any services

Dear sir I purchaged the Airtel SIM in the name of VIVEK CHAUHAN with the no. [protected], now for some reason the SIM has stopped working and I have still balance left more then Rs. 4000/ please help me to get my problem sorted out, with issuing same no. of SIM or making it operational.

Following is happening with my wife's pre-paid mobile phone:

Airtel activated "comedy pack" and "Sai baba pack" without informing and deducted money. Same was deactivated after approaching "airtel customer service center" as the customer care executive could not be reached through the numerous prompts from the mobile phone. However these "packs" gets activated automatically again and everytime money is deducted from the account.
I had tried to contact the "Zonal Head - Retail experience" at [protected] ( the phone No was displayed at the "Customer service center, Jodhpur park, Kolkata ) but the call was not received by the person. Are the customers need to call Mr. Sunil Mittal - can someone give the telephone number of Mr. Sunil Mittal to lodge the complain ?

I am told by acquaintances that simillar thing is happening with Vodaphone also. Then, is it a "Syndicated - operation" orchestrated by these telephone service providers to earn extra buck ( may be, to recover money spent elsewhere !!) ?
Airtel has changed their "Logo" - and is it the outcome??
Can someone tell if this action by Airtel qualify to lodge an FIR with Police cybercrime cell ? I am frustrated enough to think of such an action.

I AM HAVING TWO PREPAID CONNECTIONS FROM AIRTEL WITH NUMBERS [protected] AND [protected]. QUITE OFTEN THE COMPANY IS DEDUCTING SOME CHARGES SUCH AS HELLO TUNES, MATI KE POOT AND FRIENDS CHAT WITHOUT SEEKING MY PERMISSION. LASTELY SOME 75 RUPEES HAVE BEEN DEDUCTED FROM BOTH THESE ACCOUNTS LEAVING ME WITHOUT MUCH BALANCE FOR MY USE.

WHEN CONTACTED THE COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE SAYS I HAVE ASKED FOR IT WHEREAS
NEVER IN MY LIFE I HAVE SOUGHT THESE SERVICES. THESE CHARGES ARE UNILATERAL AND I SEEK REFUND OF THE SAME. THE COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE HAS REFUSED TO LODGE THE COMPLAINT AND HAS REGRETED TO REFUND THE AMOUNT.

I am using airtel prepaid connection in Mumbai. after activating DND still i am getting promotional call from airtel and without my info VAS services has been activated on my Number and Rs 30 were deducted from my account when i called the customer care, they didn't tell the cause of the problem and disconnected the call. If these calls are getting recorded for Quality and trainin perpose then is this your Quality
I again called the customer care twice on 31st Jan, 2008 and the same thing hapened again.Customer Care people are not ready to hear any thing, they just disconnect the call in the midlle of the conversation.
Please can anyone send me the mail id of the Airtel Zonal Head.
Not expecting such a pathetic service from Airtel who's claiming to be India's no 1 Network.

Sir, Plz dont attend the calls from Airtel, I[censored] attend the calls they say something as cricket packs, talk to the cricket star and reduce the amount without your knowledge. So plz avoid attending calls from airtel service providers. BE AWARE. This is the way how i lost the amount.

My Airtel Pre paid No is [protected]. From March 1st onwards Rs 2 per day is deducting from my account for MMS activation. I have made several complaints regarding this and begged like anything. No care was given. Now I cannot contact with customer care executive. 1st I got information that 7th onwards it wiil not be there. then they assured 9th onwards. yesterday told that today. but daily Rs 2 is deducting from my account. My last Request Ref No is CBDAL[protected]. today also Rs 2 lost. This is cheating. You are Collecting for a service which I have not used in mym life. You have to refund the money at the earliest. stop this pick pocketing .
Please do not confuse people by telling FREE. Nothing is free in airtel.
Don't send SMS stating"You have received a voice message from Lara, To retrive please dial karein *0* for free. It automatically subscribes and money is deducted.
