Ref: My Prepaid Airtel Mobile [protected]

Early today [09 Aug 2013], I was recharging my mobile for Rs.500 and felt cheated. Where I expected a talktime of 500 or thereabouts, Airtel messaged to tell me I've been credited with Re 1/ [Repeat Rs. 1] worth talktime. The message further told me that I've been charged a processing fee of Rs.448.45 [!] and a service tax of Rs.55.55.

What the huge processing fee --of Rs.448.45 out of Rs.500 -- is for, I haven't the haziest idea. Nor could I unravel the mystery.

I then repeatedly called the customer care [what a tedious job it was]. Each call, I was greeted by recorded messages and I had had to wait a long while before I could get to talk to Airtel's Customer Care 'Adviser.' These executives -- I spoke to three of them -- were of No help; they would forward the call to a supervisor who would either not pick it (the bell was going for many minutes) or would simply cut my call after putting me on 'hold.'

And, lo, the consumer was debited for each of these customer call complaints. In my case, I was made to pay Roaming Charges, to boot. What's more, I spent so much time on an exercise that was to prove so futile. I'm a student to whom time and cash are hard to come by.

In the event, I was forced to recharge the mobile a second time.

Airtel has disappointed me. What do I do as a consumer?

Airtel-pre-paid services, — Cheating by Airtel

Sir,
I am very disappointed by the services provided by airtel for the last 4 (four) months. Previously I use to suggest people that the services of airtel is the best among all services provider, but now it is just opposite. Iam the life time plan user of No. [protected] for the last 2 years. since Feb'08 whenever I recharge my account with top-up, the airtel deduct amount from by balance some way or the other. On 4/3/2008 I received a sms from no. 64611050 read as "Thank you for using Airtel Services. Find your dream job...etc. " and thereafter I find my balance reduced by Rs.50/- and again on 5/3/08 I received the same sms and balance reduced by another Rs.50/-. I call the customer care services but could not gave any satisfactory answer . He told that I have down loded something, whereas i have not even surf the" Airtel Live" since Nov.2007.However I requested him to stop the services of "Airte Live" and also requested to stop all promotional calls. Configuration of the Airtel Live was deleted from my set next day, but i received again a sms on 11/3/2008 form No. 64611030 read as "Your subscription to the on demand service on Airtel Live has been renewed...etc." and this time deducted Rs. 30/- from my balance account. and I surprised to see " Airtel Live" is activated again. When I contacted customer care service 121, replied that the decuction is towards activation of music station, whereas I have not made any such request. I told them to stop all such activation, but it was not stopped. Then I started recharging my account with smaller amount. i.e. 'Rs.25/. But still it doesnot work, I stated receiving sms from Nos.[protected] dated 10/4/2008, 20/4/2008, 22/5/2008 and No.[protected] dated 2/5/2008, read as " Your subscription to Airtel Live music on demand has been renewed for 10 minutes...etc" and each time deducted Rs. 10/- to 20/-

I am surprised to know how the service provider renew or provide such services without the concent /request from the customer. If this is the way to deal with the "Life time validity" plan customer, then I must say the company will only lose its valuable customer.

I am fed up of this type of cheating and extortion by this service provider and decided to quit the service.

Airtel — Indifference of Airtel towards loyal customers!

Sir,

I have had a pre-paid connection [protected] that was converted into a post-paid connection in July 2006. My pre-paid connection had a balance of more than Rs. 3000/- surplus with the Airtel at the time of conversion from pre-paid to post-paid. The conversion process was carried out in the Vikas Puri branch without any credit in my account. I was assured then that my surplus with the company would be taken forward in the new account which may take some weeks or months since the pre-paid and post-paid departments are independent. Needless to say the behaviour of the staff handling my case was not so much consumer-friendly and I was asked to fill a number of forms typically like a Govt. office.

It is a pity that I was compelled to pay my monthly bills on the post-paid connection without any information about my surplus with the company. My two written requests / complaints to Airtel Nehru Place office went unattended and my telephonic request to umpteen number of Consumer Service Executives at 121 bore no fruits whatsoever.

Airtel must see that its loyal customers are being simply harassed. I see no reason
why I should be paying my monthly bills as long as the company owes me more than Rs. 3000/-.

Compelled with such indifference, I had to request for keeping my connection in abeyance since June 2007 and it continues to be closed eversince simply because the company refuses to take any action. Meanwhile, I have visited Airtel office in Vikaspuri for resolving the problem atleast ten times. The dates I visited and lodged complaints are: Request no. 13063977 dated[protected]; Request no. 13137913 dated 6 July 2007; Next visit 29th September 2007; Next visit 19 October, 2007; Next visit 24 November 2007.

I urge your portal to kindly interven and get resolved the issue. I am really keen to use my phone now that I am a senior citizen and and I need it badly to take care of my ageing father.

I have pre paid connection o[censored]r company, but i got call from ur company that u can change ur prepaid connection to postpaid, but they get 250 rs for change connection & get my proofs but yet its didnt change . Now tell me wht can i do???

Airtel Prepaid Services — Cheated me in providing prepaid offer

Hi,

My mobile number is [protected].I have recharged my mobile in august of this year.Befor recharging they told they charge half rupee for local calls but now they are charging 1 rupee.It is not fair to do like that being a good prepaid services .Please get the service back to me and also compensation for the money i have spent so far.

Airtel India — Bad Service and cheating the customer

I have a Airtel Post Paid connection number [protected] in B'lore which was taken recently. From the day one I have been facing problem. Initially the clip service was not working for 3 days; only after calling the call centre of Airtel for thrice the problem was solved. They have taken the charge for clip service in advance but not giving the service. Then after few days on Oct 6th my out going service has been barred. On contacting them they have said that the residence verification was done. I just have to say that the verification is not my job and that has to be done by the company and for the fault of the company the customer is getting penalized. I want to take some action against it as I have faced a lot of problem in my personal and official life.

I would surly not advice to go for Airtel now.

AirTel — Recharge Cheating

My Airtel mobile Number is [protected].
The complaint is i bought this airtel number 1 month before and after 15 or 20 days i have gone out of station and i was not able to use airtel service over there.So because of that i switched of the mobile and went.I returned back to chennai after 20 days on 27/11/08.I know that there was no balance in my mobile.So i went to a recharge shop and made a recharge for RS.132(97 booster+35 easy recharge).The recharge was made sucessfully.After recharging i made call.To my surprise i heard a computer voice saying that "UR OUTGOING CALLS ARRE BLOCKED DUE TO NON SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS, PLEASE SUBMIT THE DOCUMENTS TO UR NEAREST DEALER OR AIRTEL OFFICE".On the next moment itself i have submitted the document to that dealer.But the next day on 28/11/08 at 2.07 pm my mobile tower was blocked and my sim card registration has got failed.When i contacted customer care people i got a reply that due to failure of verification of documents my SIM CARD has been blocked.
I accept that there is a mistake on ME.But my question is while blocking by outgoing calls how could they can make my recharge sucessfull."WHAT HAPPENED TO MY RS.132.wHY IT COULD NOT BE REFUNDED.WHAT WOULD HAPPENING TO ME IF I HAVE RECHARGED FOR Rs.1000".aIRTEL CHEATED MY MONEY AND CHEATING SO MANY PEOPLE LIKE THIS.Please make this as a very serious complaint.Airtel must pay me 1000 times penalty to me for cheating me.Please make it a very big issue and do something before so many peaople gets cheated.

i chited by Airtel i put 100 rupee RCV in my mobile num.[protected] on date19/02/09 in the scame morning6 to night 11 A to A 50 pais.but Airtel cast me AtoA 1 rupee Min. i comlan to C C my comlan num. is [protected] on dated 19/02/09.They tell me u r not taking any RCV of 100 Rupee.
I saw my balance today 23/02/09. 30 rupee dedat from my blance like thif.I don't send any sms or call for any schame.

Airtel Recharge — No recharge on prepaid phone

I have tried to recharge the prepaid phone No.[protected] on 09 Jan 2009, by ICICI bank online recharge for INR 555.00. The amount was debited from my account vide Payment ID[protected]. However the amount was not transferred to the phone no.[protected] till yet. On calling the Airtel call centre we were informed to communicate with you.
Please either recharge the amount to the above phone or refund the amount of INR555.00 to my ICICI account from which it was debited.

Airtel Prepaid — Re my complaint earlier today

sir, I forgot to mention my number [protected]. This is regarding my complaints about FHM Video deducting an amount of Rs 5/- daily and asking you to stop this service immediately nad refund my wrongly deducted amount.
A call came for me from my friend, I attended it and finished talking. I then received a message from "Last sms cost:rs.20 " and i ran out of balance.Then I saw a message that you have been subscribed for pocket radio. Then I called customer care, it was not going. I tried several times. Then I left it. Some actions should be taken against them for doing like this.

Airtel/Prepaid — cheating

i am using airtel prepaid connection since 2 yrs. my no.is [protected] i am using NOP services for airtel since the time of got this number they have deducted or debited my account on daily basis now i they are not providing such service to me since 10 days but they have debited my accounts for the same this is a simple case of cheating.
More worst, i have talked all this about to the customer care executives many of them have told me that this services has been closed by airtel i dn't understood still if they have closed this service then you don't have any rights to debit my accounts
well, many of customer care executives has told me that they have de-activated my services, while i never asked them to de-activated
further, many customer care executives have told me that they are sending me settings for re-activate that service again but no settings received yet
finally they have banned my number to customer care therefore, i can't talk with customer care executives well, not only me i have used different mobile numbers regarding my complaints but airtel have blocked all those numbers too
so this is very clear that airtel is a big cheat company

one more thing when i tried calling customer care,Now it is chargable, I paid for their mistakes.
The answer was sir you may have received a call from some one & by ending this call you may received this activated.But lairs, I got this message when i was working with my desktop.
Even i have registered for NDND i used to get atleast 5 promocalls all the days.
and leave all this apart then they (Aritel )use to run the tune from specific number
What a great harrasement .

Airtel — CHEATING IN PREPAID RECHARGE AMOUNT

I M. lakshmi and my cell no is [protected]

On 2nd July I received a message from At- Talk time[protected] pm that for 30
Rs RC= 45 TT = 35 SMS for you

In the Evening 06-43 Pm I recharged for an amount of Rs 30 and they added 23
immediately and saying that remaining 22 Rs will be added with in 48 Hours.
transaction Id is 53721061

But so far the amount has not been added to my account and they added
ultimately 7 Rs today after wasting 6 Rs TT from my account. the reference
Nos are [protected] & [protected]

Then I asked about the amount they had promised during E recharge.

The answer is NO and they asked me go anywhere including
consumer court.

I am passing the information to you all about what has happened to me with
Airtel and their company people.

They are cheating customers with false promises.

I want to file a case in consumer court since I am having all evidence in my inbox.
