[Resolved]  HCL Me Tablet — HCL CMOS Battery Problem

Dear Sir/Mam,

This is to inform that i bought a HCL laptop last December(2008) and had experienced a CMOS battery problem as the battery had gone down within 7 months. I took it to a service station in New Delhi which was nearly 40kms from my place as they informed me that there are no service stations in Gurgaon. It took great pain to get the problem resolved just to find that the same has re-occurred again. I did some investigations at my end and i have come to know that this particular model of HCL has this problem which is known. The guy at the service center also told me that it’s a known issue with this model (P2114). My question is -Why is HCL still producing products which they know are not working properly. What can be done to my situation as my warranty period has lapsed just 2 days back and I don’t know where to go. Even if I pay and get the battery replaced i know that it will re-occur again in 3 months.

HCL — cmos battery is not working

Ihave brought Hcl laptop 6 months back. now it doent open. i have shown to local person, he told me that my cmos battery is low, and need to change it. Please Please guide me regarding HCL service center in Pune.

HCL — HCL Brand New Battery Issue

My name is Kshitij Singh. I bought a brand new HCL Laptop Battery (Srno: 07G01A61865M-00B1B) in Rs. 3425 from HCL Infosystems Limited, C-150, Niralanagar, Lucknow on 31st August, 2009. Initially they gave me the battery without even checking if it is working or not since they were shifting the office location. To start with the battery was not giving a backup of even a second after fully charging the battery for more than 2 hrs. When we went back for the battery replacement they told us to wait for 30-35 min which finally took around 1:30 hrs without any valid reason. They somehow managed to arrange for a replacement battery which was having the same problem. They told that they'll arrange another replacement battery in 2 days. After 2 days when I enquired about it then they again told to wait for another 2 days with a reason that the battery has been shipped and has not yet been delivered.

This is an example of worst customer service which I have ever experienced because now neither they are able to provide a workable new battery nor they are willing to return money.
I also have the same complaint with HCL K21 Laptop, which I bought from Cochin (Kerala). The CMOS Battery Problem started just after 9th month from the data of purchase. They repaired and I am still having the same problem. It sometimes start working after keeping it for few days. Now my warranty period has expired. I do not understand why HCL is not taking any action for the CMOS Battery Problem.

I will NEVER suggest anyone to buy a laptop from HCL even if the price is lower than other brands.
