[Resolved]  HDFC Bank Bank Credit Card — Credit card complaints

This is the reply of the letter which i received from HDFC Bank Credit Card for enlisting my name in defaulters list and given below is the reasons for delay and the difficulties faced by me, please advice

Dear Sir

I’m in receipt of your letter mentioning to impose my name in the list of defaulter according to the Credit Information Company (Regulation) Act, 2005.

In this regard, I would like to once again bring to your notice that the so mentioned default, which you have embedded on my name, is actually due to lack of response from your end and further harassment which you give to the customers is surprising.

As you have mentioned that my last payment received by you was on[protected]which was not the full payment of my dues), can you please provide me with an answer as to when did you further called me up for the payment and also to look for the details that after my payments how many times did I made a call to your Collection Department seeking corrections in my account.

I would like to throw light of facts on the happening which took place prior to my last payments once more (as I have repeated these over the telecom with your representative a number of times).

I received a call from one of your representative named Shalini prior to[protected] for the payment of my dues, on that occasion I did mention to her that prior to this period in which the bank had levied interests & other charges on my account, I did of my own called up the collection department and asked them to collect the complete payment so that there are no dues in my account but there was no response from your end, at that time I also explained them that I have got my Office as well as my studies so it is not possible for me to go to any ATM centers or any collection centers of your bank to make the payment of my dues, but at that moment no one from your bank turned up leading to delay in payment due to which the said charges were levied in my account. Now can you please help me out and explain, is this the Customer Service which you excel in? (as when I applied to your Credit Card I did brief out that it is not possible for me to visit your Collection Centers to make the payment and it was promised to me that your bank will send the representative for Collection of my dues and this service will bear no charges) and is this the way that your customer has to bear with the charges being levied on his account.

I did brief out this to Shalini and she said me that, “Sir, please make some payment so that the same could hit to your account and then we can request our division to waive off the charges being levied on your account”. A guy named Gopi came to collect the payment of Rs. 7000/- and at that time also I asked Shalini that I can make the complete payment and then you waive off the charges from my account but she adviced that “Sir, please make a part payment and after that I will request our division to waive the charges and once it is done, you make the remaining payment in a couple of days time”. I made the payment of Rs. 7000/- that time and waited for Shalini’s call as she promised me to give the updated regarding the corrections in my account.

I waited for her call for a couple of days but she didn’t turn up. After that, I made a call to her from my end to take the update but that time she said me that, “Sir since this is the month end period so we are busy in following up for the payment, please give us some time and once this pressure is over I will definitely get back to you”.

And after all this happenings I didn’t receive any calls from Shalini and not even from any of your representative either for the updates or for the collection of my dues.

In such a situation can you please brief me out as to why I didn’t receive any calls from your end for my dues for a span of 2 months?

Consequently, I received all your statements, mails & phone calls regarding the payment of my dues and I did explain all this over the telephone but didn’t have any positive response from your end. Sir, I hope you understand how difficult it is to receive the personal phone calls when you are at your place of work but even then also I had repeatedly briefed these happenings to the representatives who called me up. Many times I had faced insulting words from your representative and I was urged to reply in the tone they deserved, leading to an overall mess and mental trauma.

Let me also bring one more thing to your notice that, if you go through my account history you will notice that I had once made the payments for Interest & other charges as it was a delay from my end for which I’m liable to bear the charges, but this time I’m sorry for the happenings because this issue have mounted up due to lack of response from your end.

Sir, one more thing, today morning i.e.,[protected], I called up the HDFC Bank Cards Division phone number[protected] for Kolkata printed in your aforesaid letter, to know the email address at which I can mail this letter but the phone was busy attending another call, I then reached the voicemail box of the number and dropped the message giving details of my card and my name and requesting for a call back tagging it to be URGENT, but for more than an hour I didn’t receive any feedback, I again tried to call up the same number but this time no one was picking the phone and unfortunately on my part the voice mail box was also full. Sir, please try to understand how this lack of communication creates the bridges where these discrepancies crepes out leading to a hurdles in smooth function of a relationship.

I urge you to kindly waive off the charges & interest which are debited to my account and send me a fresh statement reflecting my real dues (the principal amount) and I promise to make the payment in a week’s time from the receipt of your statement. I hope that you would definitely take corrective measures and actions to uphold the name of your Bank and advice me for actions from my end.

Dear Sir,

I was tried to withdraw 5000 Rs from my Credit Card ([protected]) on 12.02.08 at 13:44:04 from Central Bank of India Terminal code SITD021401.

But due some M/C fault I was not received money.

I have immediately entered complaint in Central Bank India Complaint Register and inform their Manager.

And at the same time I have informed to HDFC help Line.

After that I have followed several times to Ms. Priya HDFC Bank.

Today As discussed with Mr. Varun I am sending attached copy of receipt but it is very old and fed that’s why not clear.

But still I have put all the information what ever I can read. There is below information also printed

Sir,

With reference to your letter dt.05/06/08, I would like to inform you above the horrendous experience with HDFC.

During the month of August ’07 had requested HDFC to waive off the finance charges of Rs.1705 debited to my statement dt.14/08/07.

In this connection, your representative Sree spoke to me and requested me to pay an amount of Rs.3000/- as an advance to settle the entire outstanding, which will enable him to get the approval from Mumbai for waiver as well settlement letter. Subsequently, I made the payment by way of cash on 13/11/07, after which she asked me to call the next day . When I called her she informed that the concerned Manager was not in station and requested me to call after 15 days. When I called HDFC Bank after 15 days, there was no proper response and all that I had to hear was that Sree was not available and no one from Customer Care was forthcoming to take an initiative to atleast know the reason for so many calls to the Bank. When there was no response from HDFC on the calls made for more than a month, I visited the Bank and when enquired for Sree, I was informed that she was from the collection center and not from the Bank. The next day I received a call from Karthik demanding the entire outstanding payment, for which I had to explain the previous communication with Sree. He said that he will check with his Manager and also informed that such approvals will not be given, after which there were no calls from him.

During the month of February '08, I received calls on a daily basis from Sunitha demanding the payment and she was literally abusive. She did not stop with just calling me but, continued to make calls to my parents also mentally harassing them. There were occasions when she had sent 4-5 people to my home when my mother was alone and threatened her as well as used abusive language. I had categorically informed her that I will make the payment only for the amount that I had swiped but, she was not prepared to take the payment from me but, insisted on taking the full payment. She also went to the extent of threatening my parents on account of the non-payment.

On 3rd March '08, I received a call from Ganesh ([protected]), who called himself as HDFC Agent, informed me that he was responsible for collecting the dues from me. I had to explain the whole story once again and assured him that I was ready to pay the amount and had no intentions of defaulting the same. He handed over a duplicate statement along with an excel sheet with all workings. The report has details of total amount spent and the amount paid ie.,

I insisted that I will only pay Rs.29427, for which he informed me that he has very good rapport with his superior and that he can get the waiver. To obtain the waiver from his superior, he wanted me to make a payment of Rs.5000/- initially and thereafter to make the payment in 2 installments of Rs.12213.5 dated 15.04.08 &15.05.08.He assured that he was the final person to handle this case and requested me make the payment of Rs.5000/-, 2 days after which I would get the letter for settlement. Based on his assurances, I made the payment of Rs.5000/- vide cheque no.401795 dt. 17.03.08 had drawn on IDBI Bank to his agent Vignesh ([protected]) and the receipt no. For the same is 5724207 dt.17.03.08. I made continuous calls to Ganesh for the settlement letter but, there was no response at all from his end. Subsequently, he stopped taking my calls. When I called Vignesh to find out the status of the letter, he brought his Manager from HDFC to my office. I did not meet him as I was totally fed up with all the follow-up calls made for the past 8 months.

I would like to re-iterate once again that I am willing to make the payment of Rs.24427/- i.e., Rs.29427/- less Rs.5000/-(above payment made). As a result of all the mental torture that I have undergone on account of the above. I had to incur substantial amount on medical expenses.

Due to the above reasons, I am not able to concentrate on my work as well as my day-to-day activities. I hold a responsible position in my organization and such third rated treatment is not at all acceptable and I have every right to take this up with the Consumer Court, which I am not willing to do.

Request your Client to collect the amount of Rs.24427/- in 2 installments immediately.

I beg to inform you that from my credit card account some ROYAL SUNDARAM ALLIENS COMPANY deducted sum of Rs. 3999=00 with out any my permition. Then i immdiate inform to HDFC CREDIC CARD CALL CENTRE and hold the card services. Immdiate inform to your CHENNAI OFFICE AND SENDED THE SIGNATURE LETTER BY FAX AND SAME WAS DROPED IN BOX. BUT TILL THERE IS NO RESPONCE FROM YOUR END. PLEASE IMMDIATE REPLY AND TAKE NECESSARY ACTION AGAINST THE ROYAL SUNDARAM ALLIENC COMPANY.

TILL I WAS NOT RECIVED ANY POLICY FROM THE ROYAL SUNDARAM, WHY THEY PEOPLE DEDUCT THE SUM OF AMOUNT RS. 3999=00.

PLEASE LET ME INFORM IMMDIATLY AND CLOSE THE ISSUE AND DEPOSITS THE AMOUNT OF RS 3999=00 IN MY ACCOUNT AND ISSUED THE CLEAR CERTIFICATE WITH OUT WASTING THE TIME. IF I HAVE NOT GOT ANY WRITTEN COMMENTMENT FROM WITH IN WEEK DAYS I GO TO LEGAL ACTION AGAINST HDFC AND ROYAL SUNDARAM,
