[Resolved]  India Post — Delay in issue of cheque

Address:Pune, Maharashtra

An application for reissue of a cheque in lieu of the spoilt cheque was made to the Dunkirk lines post office. First they were not ready to take the request at all. Later they said to get it approved from HPO, Pune. Even after the approval is taken and the concerned authority has spoken on phone to issue a duplicate cheque still the SPM, Dunkirk line is delaying the issue of cheque. He says' 'it is your mistake so you have to suffer'. This is not expected from a senior personnel like him.

On the contarary the Senior Post Master, at HPO, Pune was very helpful and even called SPM, Dunkirk lines to issue a fresh cheque.

I don't know when our govt. officials will learn how to behave with the customers.

Post Office — Delay for issuing cheque of MIS

My maturity date for MIS was on 19th sept in Goregaon (jawahar Nagar Post office), Mumbai. On regularly interacting with my agent - Kamini shah, I come to know that the person handling this is on leave and will be coming today. She also says that there are lot of payments delayed as that person is on leave from a month.

The other authorized person to whom the responsibility was given is also on leave. This was really absurd.Till today 23rd sept 08, I have not received my maturity amount and also lot other customers who are waiting from last one month for the payment.

There should be some system or some higher authority who takes care of this else this investment option needs to be stopped, if people do not get the amount on time.

Regards,

Gaurav Shah

Post Office — delaying to issue cheques

I submitted Sanction paper for MIS pass book along with withdrawn form on 28/7/2008 at Rishra Post Office Hooghly -712248 till today South Hooghly Serampore cant able to issue cheque for the same
My Late husband had invested in NSC in the year 2003 from lower Chanmari west Garo hills post office, Tura, Meghalaya but unfortunately he did not survive to see the matured sum and now, i widow, to Prof.S.Ganguly is anxiously awaiting the matured sum(NSC)which has already matured on the 18th of January 2009.The registration no.is195 and the no. of face value are 6NS/32EE788959, 6NS/32EE788960, and 6NS/32EE788961.This is very unfortunate that we common indians still have a lot of hope and this is the only reason why people particularly middle class citizens invest in post office hoping to get their due amount, but it seems of late we are slowlly loosing faith in the system and days will not be far when even the ordinary govt.employees will start investing in other insurance sectors. All, i hope, with the grievance that i have is well understood and the postal offficials who are paid lumsum amount as their salaries from the govt.of India become more humane and justify their income to at least people who invest in NSC.I will be highly obliged if my case is expediated at the earliest and the erring officials are reprimanded from the govt.of postal services.
If Post offices cannot handle prompt payment to its clienst, whch is the most common feature, it is better these schemes are transfeered or made available in 'public sector banks' too, like PPf facility in some designated banks. However the staff of post offices will be the most happylot if ther workload is reduced. Therefore they should be made accountable. I am facing a similar situatuion KR Baindur
