Hi, This is in regards to H.T.T.C. - K. L. Mehra in Train #2903 Golden Temple from Ranthambore to New Delhi Railways station on January 20, 2008. I did not have a confirm ticket and had to come to Delhi in a hurry. Therefore, I bought a normal ticket and sat in the sleeper class. Thinking that I will pay the difference on the ticket in the train, as advised by the railway employee on the ticket counter. The H.T.T.C K. L Mehra asked me to pay Rs. 94 as the reservation charge and Rs. 250 as a penalty charge for boarding the train that was full. I was traveling in the day time between the 2 stations. I would like to know if there is such a Penalty. If the fine is applicable then why did the T.C. did not give any receipt for that amount? There were 2 other people with me. We paid Rs. 1,020 additional on a Rs. 268 tickets. Can something be done about this and for the people who abuse the system. Please advise. Thanks Ankur Lakhanpal Was this information helpful? | |

the same thing happend with me on 07 april 2008 in shaheed exp. from darbhanga to amritsar. ticket examiner beated me and snatched all my money. he was 26-30 years old.

Iam very regrete to say about the failure of Indaian Railway for providing journey facilities and securities to the middle calss passanger. I traveled with my family (wife and two below 05 years childrens) with PNR No.[protected] in dakshin Express (2861/ S5, seat no. 4, 5) on 27 May 08 from Vijayawada to H. Nijamuddin. The Pantry car is lies after S6, B1 and two general compartments and due blockage of AC and Generl compartment on 28 night no IRCTC caterer has come, there by my family was remain hunger whole the night. Also it is very sorry to say about security that no police man taken a single round in the compartmet during the night, After leaving the Agra Station at morning 3.30 hrs my wife Rs. 20, 000 gold chain was theft. The TTE who is sleeping soundly did not shown any courtesy for sympathy and advice for police complaint and he continued on his sound sleeping. The train was also late by 2.30 hrs and in the Morning 6.30 we informed about the theft to a police man and there is limited response from him. We are very sad about the journey. Iam intimating this because our great Indian railway may cosider the middle class passangers to travel with safe and security as there is no other option for long journey for middle class people.

I have booked Ticket in 3rd A.C on 2nd Feb,2008 (PNR No[protected] from Railway Reservation Counter , Hi Tech City ,Hyderabad for Travel thru Bangalore Rajdhani on 1st April,2008.
The Ticket is booked for three members which includes one Senior Citizen and Two adults.
But when the ticket got booked the total fare it showed was
4740-/- which I have paid at the time of Booking.
But when I have actually calculated the fare after the concession for senior Citizen the fare was less and it was Rupees
4680-/-.
The same details I have checked thru Internet booking also and the fare was shown as Rs 4680 -/-.
When the same was clarified with the Railway Reservation Officer ,I was told that "this is a computer error and we can't do anything on it.I need to speak to Railway Authorities for your refund i.e Rupees 60 -/-.He also agreed that extra money is been charged on this Ticket."
Although it is not a big amount,but still I wanted to Know from Railway Authorities why this excess money is been charged from us and if it is an error ,then refund back the excess amount.
