I travelled by Kallada travels (Suresh Kallada) from Cochin to Ernakulam on[protected]. I am writing this to tell the horrible experience we had with Kallada during that trip.
> 1. The travel was advertised to be in volvo bus. B7R from Cochin-coimbatore and B9R from Coimbatore-Hyderabad. The B7R was in such bad condition - bus body was loosely hangning in some parts, inside bus water was leaking from under baggage place, the baggage place itself was plastered using cellotape, AC was not working properly, entertainment system was not working, bus was in need of serious repair (we had severe back pain after few hours of travel).
> 2. The B9R which we were supposed to get in from Coimbatore was not available at Cbtr. We were told that it had some engine problem and the bus change would be done 80km from Cbtr bus stop. We came to know of the real problem at that place - adulterated diesel was filled in bus, mechanic had come from volvo and it was said that it would not be possible to repair the bus that day. No information was given on whether an alternate arrangement would be provided or how they are going to handle this situation.
> 3. We had to travel again in the B7R bus not being sure for how long. Then we were told that the bus change would happen during dinner place. That also did not happen.
> 4. Finally the change in bus happened during late night (1:30am) at some isolated place in the highway. The change was with a B9R which was coming to Cbtr from Hyderabad. We all woke up from our sleep, had to take all our luggages from this bus to the new bus. Same case with the people in another bus. Most people in the other bus were confused and had no idea of what was happening, some of them still were in the same B9R bus thinking they will be continuing the trip in the same bus. No Kallada employees were properly communicating what was happening. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL!
> 5. The places were the bus stopped for food (lunch, dinner etc) were pathetic. The conductors was shabily dressed with chewing pan.
= Is this the way a customer is treated when a customer is paying so much for a comfortable travel?
= Service in same route from another provided provides a better service (same bus from Cochin-Hyd, bus which was serviced properly, bus employess professional & properly dressed, and better customer service) at a lower price.
After the trip, I came to know that this was not a one-off incident and had happened with Kallada before even in Bangalore-Kerala route through friends experiences and reviews in internet.
I have decided never to take Kallada travels for any of my future trips. Thank you.

I traveled on last week from salem to hyderabad. The boarding time was 8.00 pm but it reaches salem at 11. The staff behavior was irritating when I asked about the late. More over they are shouting on us and they were asking me call head office and talk. We should not promote others to travel this kind of travels. More over it reached hyderabad at 5.30 pm instead of 9 AM. We are paying 1000 + everytime. So Think off...
They are challenging us like do what ever u can... I dont find any solution. We should not allow them to grow up as they are providing very worst service and worst behavior. I hate KALLADA travels. No punctuality, .. So guys plz never ever choose KALLADA travels in your life. Even you can cancel your journey i[censored] dont have any other buses. We can support other bus services those who are providing excellent services.
Brother in arms..! 101% with you guys. Let me share my experience.
I have traveled back & forth Bangalore to ernakulam atleast 50 times. From my personal experience, I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND KALLADA TRAVELS for your or your family's travel. It would be as good as gambling because most of the times you will feel like you are traveling in their mercy. I have opted Kallada travels 5 times and except once all the other 4 travels which I made was in a different seat from which I booked and again that was a connection till hosur, and had to shift down to a local bus further.
And if you ever WALK IN to KALLADA OFFICE at MADIVALA, I bet you will never go there again unless your inner mind lets you in with no other options to live with. The kind of response you get from the staff sitting there is disgusting i shud say, Government staff behaves better..!

The reason for these kind of attitude to passengers is simple, they are the dominant power in this industry & they own the major market share[most number of buses both Multi Axle Volvo & regular airbus]. They know, people will approach them one way or the other [via other travel agencies] though their tickets are not selling.

Abusive behaviour by driver and his co-worker.

Yesterday evening 8:15PM[protected]had been my journey from "Kallada Travels" from Calicut to Bangalore.
Unfortunately someone had broke the glass at the window nearby me. Even a lame person would had identified as it has been caused from an stone thrown from outside but the driver was so rigid to accept the fact and the helper was very very aggressive as if they are going to manhandle their customer. Only a stone will cause the glass to get shattered into granular pieces. Horrific travel experience without an window during a night journey.
I am really amused to see how Kallada people can be so violent towards their customers. Travelling via Kallada was really a nightmare for me.
Anyone who value their pride will not be opting for same.

I am Sri. Mathew writing this letter from Bangalore. I would like to bring to your notice something which happened to me yesterday which pained me a lot. On 14th I had booked a return ticket from Kerala from sleigh-thomas, Madiwala to travel by Kallada sleeper cum semi sleeper from Kollam to Bangalore. In my ticket I was given the information that the reporting time is 6.30pm and departure time is 6.45pm. The boarding point was near railway station, Cherthala. I was at the spot at 5.55pm. Meanwhile a Chennai Kallada went and at 6.40pm, a non AC also went in full speed without stopping or even seeing my hand signalling them to stop. I remained on thinking that was not my bus. At 6.45pm I rang the number [protected] and got the signal that it is temporarily out of service. Unfortunately this number is given in the ticket. Then I tried the customer care number 0480 – 2832010 and I was told to wait. Meanwhile I contacted Bangalore counter sleigh-thomas and he too was upset that I did not inform him before. However he gave me a number of Ernakulam and then managed to talk to someone there. Meanwhile the bus driver who had not picked me up rang to me from vaitila asking me to reach there somehow to board the bus, and that is almost 40 km away from my place and it was raining too. How could I reach there to catch the bus when I was still standing at Cherthala? I had no information from anywhere with regard to what had happened and I was told to show hand to any bus that came that way. Is it just to tell me to do that since I had all directions given clear and they too were supposed to have all details including my phone number? Finally at 9.30pm I managed to get a Volvo to Bangalore. I remained in front of the railway station for three hours and a half and trying to call the all people possible, wasting a lot of money on phone as well. At the end of the story I reached Bangalore at 8.00am instead of 5.30am. I do not know what is happening. This is the first time I am travelling by Kallada and my experience is very pathetic. I would like to get an explanation for this behaviour from the part of the travel agent. If not I may go one step further.

I was going from chennai to tvm on 19th Oct. It was heavily raining and I was supposed to board in guindy. I reached the boarding point on time and called the transport desk and then driver.
1) The driver (not the transport desk) informed it is late by 1:30 hrs and the bus is just stating.
2) It was raining v heavily. The driver asked me to wait in Azhad khan govt bus stop where there is shelter.
3) The bus came and did not stop. When I called back they ask me to come half km away which was supposed to be (I still donno) the ight pickup point.
4) I paid for an auto (as I had lots of luggage) and went to board.
5) When questioned on why he didnt stop though he asked me to stand there and i showed hand to stop they stated talking very bluntly and used very unfriendly. Had to shout and giveup as one of the commuters had flight to catch.
6) None of the sheets were washed and the next day morning it was folded and kept for the next day's use in front of our eyes.
7) Drivers and cleaner were singing and talking at the top of their voice very ealy in the morning.

I had two time experience with Kallada Travels for journey from Cochin to Hyderabad both the time the bus was delayed and reached the destination very late. They dont show the manners to inform us regarding the delay of bus for almost 3 hours. The hospitality of the staff is very bad. they showed very rude and arrogant behavior the passengers as if like they are taking us for free. they dont even had chairs to seat the passengers who arrived early.
This is the worst experience i had with this type of buses compared to other operators of similar kind.

I had another bad experience at kallada on 24th November 2012. The Chennai- trivandrum multi axle AC semi sleeper, which according to their website should depart frm Koyambedu in Chennai at 7.00pm. The bus arrived 4 hours late. The crew and coordinators were not taking responsibility for the bus being late. they took the paasengers for granted, almos 20 paasengers were waiting 4 hours for the arrival of the bus. The koyambedu kallada office do not provide decent bathroom fecilities for the paasengers. The only stop they provided us was at Nagercoil bus depot, which was gross(needless to say). On the other hand, I had booked the return trip in Parveen travels, who started the bus on time. I should stress that they said departure at 6.30pm and did start at 6.30 pm. Also they broke the journey at a very decent n neat restroom available area at Nagercoil. What I wud like to stress here is that, in spite of the availability of decent amneties, Kallada fails to serve the consumers for the price they charge us for the travel.
I have had another bad experience with kalla da travels in June 2012. A frend was travelling By kallada- Chennai Tvm semi sleeper. The person had chosen Chennal Central as the boarding point. After calling n confirming with the number given in the ticket, my frend got to the central station 15 minute befre time. No Kallada bus came that route. After almost half an hour, my frend gets a call saying the bus is at Koyambedu, and askd him to reach koyambedu right away.
the following points are to be noted:
1. there is no coordination betweent he organizers and drivers.
2. they are not couteous to inform us abt the change in boarding points.
3. they take passengers time and money for granted, and cares the least to keep us comfortable.
4. From my past 2 experiences they are always late.
5. They do not provide good restroom (toilet) facilities to the customers.

Kallada Travels is miserable when it comes to staff behavior and punctuality. I had several bad experiences when travelling in those buses between hyderabad and ernakulam. These are my observations in brief:-
-They are very rude and hardly listen to any plight of the passengers, no matter ladies or elderly.
-They miss the schedule by hours. Never on time.
-They made me shift buses at border (between karnataka and Andhra) without any prior notice not once more than 3 times, telling there is no permit for the bus. BTW they do this exercise in a rude manner.
Last but not the least they have jacked up the prices of tickets recently to exploit the monopoly thye have in this route. I seriously doubt their nexus with politicians and officials by not providing enough of government buses or trains in this route.

Another comment I would like to add about kallada is about the place they choose for refreshments and break. Like others mentioned the restaurants and hotels don't have proper restrooms, they are very filthy and ill maintained. The menu is so highly priced, with poor quality of food. The drivers and helpers are treated lavishly by those hotel managements for the customers they bring in.
We don't have a choice and thus end up being exploited.
The places to mention in hyderabad - ekm route are
- Raviteja restaurant (dinner) hopeless place!!!
- Morning breakfast somewhere in palakkad, don't remember the hotel name- Food is ok, but toilet sucks!! horrible.

MY WIFE WAS VERY SICK, CONTINUOUSLY VOMITING, HIGH FEVER. I ASKED THE DRIVER TO STOP FOR A MINUTE FOR MY WIFE.BUT THE DRIVER DIDN'T STOP FOR A WHILE AND STOPPED AFTER 5 HOURS AT KURNOOL. THERE THEY WERE TAKING LOCAL PASSENGERS FOR LESS AMOUNT OF MONEY AND THERE WAS NO TOILET NEARBY..I WAS SO HELPLESS AT THAT TIME...DRIVER WAS TAKING MONEY IN HIS POCKET.THIS WAS THE BEHAVIOUR OF THE GANDU DRIVER.
Kallada Travels stands as CHEATER Travels. They will cheat you in one way or another. I have travelled twice with kallada travels in the last 8 months - only when I didnt get KSRTC -luxury buses and my experiences have been horrible. Once I booked my ticket in volvo and paid rs700 for Bangalore-calicut but I was made to travel in a Non- Ac bus for which others paid only 430. The other time they booked another person's ticket for the same seat which I'd booked; they tried hard to convince me to move to some other seat- I didnt move at all as I was single girl travelling alone; I didnt want to experience adventures. CHEATER CHEATER CHEATER - kallada travels stands to be a CHEATER travels.

I had a horrible experience with Kallada travels recently. I paid for the highest end ( a Sleeper Mercedes benz) to Madurai from Bangalore.
At the time of booking the drop point was shown as periyar bus stand where as while boarding the driver said it would be thirumangalam bye pass as the drop point. Being new to this route I agreed as I had not choice. The driver as well as the fellow at the office said I need not worry as there would be buses round the clock and they will help me board the bus at this point.
We reached the drop off point at 3.00 AM in the morning in the middle of the highway. The driver said that I could cross the highway and flag a town bus and went away. I was with my wife and my teenage daughter trying wave down busses at 3.00 AM in the night with not a soul in sight and we were shaking with fright.
Fortunately by god's grace one town bus stopped and we could board before any thing terrible could happen.
I think these bus operators only motive seems to be money and customer safety and service does not really matter.
It was ironical while coming back from Madurai on the Kallada bus the bus stopped over 45 minutes to pick up a passeger after Karur since there were some empty seats.
If you are ever planning to use Kallada's services in the future please make sure that you don't get taken for a ride like the the way I was. I was lucky and you can't push your luck every time. rgds...chandar

I had booked a ticket in Kallada bus for 28.04.2013 to go to Bangalore from Ernakulam.Pick up point was Palarivattom bypass junction at 8.00P M.Bus has to come from Kottayam.About 7 passangers were waiting there.At about 8.15 bus came.Everybody rushed to get in the bus.Bus stopped for a moment and Soon after one passanger got inside the bus, door closed and making all other passangers fools, the driver took the bus and went away.Bus agency rep.was also present there.When the rep. contacted the driver by phone he stopped the bus about 2KM away from us and asked us to go to the bus by autoriksha.All passengers and Rep.was in a pathetic condition.At that time autoriksha was not available.Somehow we managed to reach the bus by our own vehicles.By that time half an our gone.
I dont know why Kallada is appointing such irresponsible drivers creating problems and sufferings to the passengers.
You may please take suitable action against this irresponsible driver.

I had the worst experience while comming back from THEKKADY to banglore last week (07/11/2010), While getting in to the bus at 8pm i asked the driver by wat time will u stop for dinner, he said by 11:00pm so traveled with empty stomach. atlast it was 11:30pm he stopd at one hotel but der was no food except for the driver N cleaner.(those shameless people had nicely, They dint even bother for the lady passengers N childrens), along with me few more family's also struggled for the food with the small childrens but no use and except the driniking water option. i went N asked driver y u hv stoped where food is not available...lazily his reply was everyday we use to stop here..but if food is get over wat shld i do..somehow i manage to get food for the small child by fighting with the hotel staff...i asked the driver to stop somewere were at least snacks available the driver is agreed..and surpris'nly the next stop was banglore ...my question is wen the bus is regularly stoping at the hotel every night den y the hotel running out of food..passengers are getting punishment because they have chosen KALLADA transport ?
Guys never try to get in to this transport, and never trust ANUBAM travel or these agents (MUNAR or IDDUKI) you can expect this and worse than this...
