[Resolved]  Reliance General Insurance — Claim pending for settlement for more than a month after submitting all the documents.

I am having a real Nightmare dealing with Reliance general insurance. I have tried contacting multiple people with the local claims department, but to no avail, they never answer the phones. Logged complaint with the reliance customer care, was assured a resolution within 7 days, and now even after 20 days of logging the complaint, i still don't have a resolution.
I tried calling the customer care again, and was kept on hold for 20 minutes by the representative while he was connecting me to supervisor, i spoke to some supervisor, she put me on hold again and then disconnected the call. I didn't give up, I called again, asked for a supervisor, was kept on hold again, this time 30 minutes and i was again disconnected..
I have sent multiple emails to them, have attached them all, Never got a response, when i did get a responce, it was the standard template used in the call center, mentioning that we are working on the issue, please have patience, HOW DO THEY EXPECT ME TO HAVE PATIENCE AFTER 1 MONTH, for a claim settlement of just Rs.18000 when i was promised cashless service at the time of getting the policy.

Following are the emails i sent to Reliance:
I have sent multiple emails regarding this claim([protected]), but to no avail. I have tried contacting the surveyor, as well as some other people at the local claims departments, but they never pick up the phone. This is really frustrating, after a month and a half when the claim was initiated.
The documents were handed over to the surveyor more than a month back by Pearl Honda, I don't know what the surveyor is upto and why the file has not been submitted by him yet. I doubt if he has mis placed the documents by now and he had all the originals.

The total amount billed was Rs.17567 (Pearl Honda) and Rs. 2363 (Kumra Motors, Manimajra, Chandigarh).

I never expected this kind of delay from Reliance insurance. and i wonder if there are so many hassles and so much running around for a claim of mere 18-20,000, God forbid if there is a major accident, then what the company would do???


Today also i was on hold with Reliance insurance customer care for 30 minutes, twice and was disconnected by the people there both the times, they just kept me on hold, stating that they are connecting to some senior, and then i was disconnected. It was really frustrating to hold for 30 minutes and then just get disconnected.

Try to understand that i made the payment on a credit card and i am bearing interest on the same, i wonder who is going to bear that interest.

I had sent emails earlier too, never got a response, even now i don't have much hopes, but this email too is for my record and proof of harassment by reliance.

If anyone reads this email, kindly provide some contact detail, some one who can help me settle all this, or i may have to go the legal way.

Reliance Private Car Comprehensive Policy — Claim Pending

Dear All,

We have provided all necessary details to Reliance General Insurance's surveyor, but he is not forwarding our claim to concerned authority. All documents have been submitted by postal service and emailed as an attachment.
Can we know who is the governing body of the surveyor? so that we can put a complaint against him.

Reliance General Insurance — Reimbuasement Claim

This is my 2nd mail to Reliance & Medi Assist. I have called so many times to Reliance & Medi Assist. Reliance says call TPA & TPA (Medi Assist) says we have not receive investigation report, but investigation has done 07/12/2009. I have submitted all documents in 15/11/2009 for reimbursement. Tell me the status of claim & give me the reason for delay. Reply via same.

I had gone through ur claim process of my car in dec 2009. as per the policy it was cashless but the time of claim dealer refused for cashless they said tie up is broken.
They are lucknow’s pioneer dealers of TATA MOTORS (Motor General sales. Charbagh ) . so however I paid the total amount in cash to the dealer for my car after wards they sent my papers to reliance GIC for claim . Ur co took very long time to send me then claim chq but the moment I had lodged the chq to my bank it got bounced with the reason stop payment by payee as I got penalized with bounce charges to my account. Now despite of so many calls to ur call centre I am not getting the right answer or the status of my chq they have just provided the complaint no:- 926598 . every time same ans call after seven days u will get to know the status. claim is just for 18000.00 rupees

This is my 5th mail to Reliance & Medi Assist. I have called and mail so many times to Reliance & Medi Assist. Reliance says call TPA & TPA (Medi Assist) says your ailment is preexisting but that was not true. I have submitted all documents on 29/11/2009 for reimbursement. My claim was denied by TPA. May I go to the court. I am practising advocate and very inconvieniant from behaviour of TPA and Company. I also sent registerd letter to company and TPA but both are not interested to settle claim.Kindly reconsider my claim and do the needfull.

Reliance General Insurance — pending decision on claim submitted

Sir,
I HAVE SUBMITTED A CLAIM ON 29 TH DECEMBER2009,OF Rs.2912,IN ALLAHABAD for a comprehensive policy on HONDA ACTIVA.
But till date I have only recieved mail from them stating that your claim is in under process.I guess their is pre defined period in which cliam status has to be set.
I am under lot of mental agony nd pain Because i have spent more Money in contacting to the Company than the amount of claim filed.

Thanks for giving us a platform to share our complaint.
Request you to pls look in to the matter for claim with claim no [protected] in the name of Namrata shrivas for I10 Hyandai car. My car met with an accident on 2nd sept 10, i have submitted all the documents for the claim to your Nagpur address.

Extremely sorry to say, the responce from the staff is very poor and noncooperative. We always look at Reliance company with great respect and honour. But the behaviour of your employees who are handling our case namely Abhishek and Mr Manoj Bansod is not what we as customer we will be looking forward.

first Mr abhishek only called us for claim discussion latter he is in a very insulting way saying i dont want to waste my time.
We new to all insurance terms when asked him meaning of word repudiation.. very rudely he replied that i am not here to teach you insuance act.

Me and my father went who is of age72 years went for that meeting., I felt very bad the way we being treated.
Also he made sure to humiliate when we asked for the our own policy document, ... saying to me that we dont share, it is our company cost control measure .. Latter on request he forced us to write a letter in his favour for getting the same.

He intentionaly took elaborate time to humiliate and make us frusted.
After all above further to addition he shared a print where 3 pages were merged to one ... which was for a common person next to impossible to read.

I shared my personal mail id saying i will take print .. for same i am still waiting.

For every item of claim Mr manoj and Abhishek were bargaing as if it is not less then a fish and subji market.

Not enough then above all they were telling us the rule of TAT of 15 days and. fail to understand why on the last day when we were not in fault we got so much of gyan.

Further to above he said lets settle somewhere .. so that he wont face any audit remark... and my case wont go for higher authorities

Failed to understand such a big company can create so many tantrum for claim amount of Rs 19000/-.
We as typical indian middle class people still going to your representive to take pain.


Hope my complaint will get noticed that how so called king customer is taking pain .

Hi I am Rajesh from Tundla Firozabad (UP).I have similar experience with Reliance General Insurance.1. My Pol No. [protected]-Rajesh Ranjan Singh.
2. I underwent Hospitalization from 08.08.2010 to 10.08.2010.
3. TPA MS PARAMOUNT was informed immediately for cashless access.
4. Vide PHS ID 12289502 CCN 1693894 subject TPA asked several documents and kept decision pending till last finally denying cashless access at the time of my discharge and I had to borrow the amount for paying the hospital bill.
5. I was asked to submit claim for reimbursement –which I did on 22.08.2010.
6. CCN 1711410, the TPA issued me Deficiency letter on 27.09.10 asking documentsinformation necessary for processing my claim which was sent by me promptly.
7. After receiving the above TPA again issued one more deficiency letter on 17.11.10.
8. This too was replied by me on 24.11.10.
9. Nothing happened for two months further when Sri Devesh said to be the representative of Ms Probus Associates came to my office and took my statement and another set of claim documents on 27.02.2011.
10. It has been more than six months I incurred expenses on my hospitalization covered under above referred policy but the claim is yet to settled. My previous remindercalls could not receive any response.
despite repeated reminders my two claims are pending with reliance general insurance.my claim no. are 5333662 and 5513790. u r sending repeated sms for document clarification.your sms is one way.i can not reply that sms .why it is so.u have got verified all the documents through an officer at my dehradun residence.that officer checked the records at the hospitals where the surgery and treatment took place.when that officer was satisfied with the document and all other things then what is the meaning of repeated sms.why u r not settling my claim.that officer from lucknow also took the photographs of injured hand of my wife.u know justice delayed is justice denied.reply urgently at my email id [protected]@yahoo.in
