State Bank Credit Card — Fake transactions on my credit card

Address:Kolkata, West Bengal

Dear Sir, Re: Credit card no:[protected] A few months back, I was cheated on an amount of Rs 6, 999/- by Cache Mercantile Company. They offered me some lucrative gifts and services and to my utter surprise, the amount had been debited by SBI immediately. I lodged a complaint to the authority. After that two persons contacted me over telephone. They introduced themselves as representative of SBI Visa card from Noida. One, Mr. Manish Sharma (telephone no.[protected] and another Mr.Vikas Mehera (telephone no.[protected]. They told me that as per RBI rules, the money will be transferred to my credit card only and for that they needed few information related to my credit card, such as Card no, Date of birth, Card expiry date and CVV no, Pin no. of another bank and any I.D. proof, which is to be mailed to his email id: visa.[protected]@gmail.com. I attached my Voter I.D. Proof and mailed it to them immediately. They also told me to register for online banking facility with SCB. I did it and two transaction passwords were generated which I disclosed to them immediately. After that the following things happened. I have experienced a story which is like a nightmare to me. On 19th September, 2013 a telephone call came to me from[protected]. The person told me that he is a representative of Airtel and he alarmed me that two similar sim are operating somewhere in my name. He verified my identity; my hand set name and no., balance and validity of the sim. The fact is that I have two other Airtel sims which are also registered in my name used by my wife and daughter. The person told me that the two Sim which are not registered in my name will be stopped immediately. After that several calls and blank messages have come throughout the night from Vodafone no[protected] and it continued till 2 p.m. next day. On 20th morning I found that a message has come from Standard Chartered Bank that an online transaction of Rs 950/- has been made against my credit card. I immediately contacted SCB customer care and block my card immediately. I have come to know from them that total six online transactions have been made from Delhi Metro Railway Corporation, amounting to Rs 5, 650/- in total. They said that they will investigate the whole thing. Today I have received the SBI E-statement for the month of August 2013. From there I have come to know that an amount of Rs 6, 999/- has been credited temporarily to my statement which was charged to me previously. Had I received the August, 13 statement in time, I would not be cheated by a racket which I apprehend has a small connection with the SBI credit card department. Total transactions amount Rs 1, 19, 234.17 I have been informed by customer care, that many fake transactions had taken place on my SBI credit card, which is totally unknown to me because the statement for September, 13 has not yet reach me nor have I received any SMS alert from you. The monthly statements are not delivered to me regularly in spite of my repeated requests over telephone and mail. Henceforth I will stop my payment if I do not receive my E-statement by 6th of every month. Further please note that I am not responsible for the fake transactions, which were not done by me and I will not pay any overdue interest charged on them. For your kind information, the last transaction (as per August, 13 statement), which I had done on 7thJuly2013 at Spencers Retail Ltd Rs 3, 363.90 . I request you to block my card permanently and also not to dispatch any new card further. I shall furnish dispute form as soon as I receive the statements for September, 13 and for October 13, which are generated on 5th September, 13 and 5th October, 13 respectively so that a complete picture maybe reflected. I apprehend my Voter I.D.proof may be misused by them and it may cause me harassment in future. Please take the matter very seriously and take a prompt action. Thanking you, Yours faithfully Debasish Chatterjee Email I.D. [protected]@gmail.com Mobile no : [protected]
