[Resolved]  Whirlpool India — Refrigerator stops cooling

Dear Sir

WE had bought a Whirlpool Refrigerator(450 ICEMAGIC ELITE INOX) on 28th FEB 2007.
But for the last 1 month the refrigerator stops working, where the cooling stops in both compartments, ice gets melt and the food inside gets perished.

We had logged complaints a lot of times, but all the times the executive is not able to provide any solution. WE are now totally dissatisfied with this refrigerator. We would like the company to take an immediate actions either to repair the refrigerator to our satisfaction or to replace the same.

Would appreciate the immediate action.

LG 250ltr fridge — i have a defective fridge and need to get it replaced

I have bought my LG fridge from Kohinoor Electronics on 18 December 07
my fridge has lost cooling in the bottom fridge section

1) 8 January 2008 part replaced bimetal controller & timer
2) 15 March 08 part replaced bimetal controller
3) 10 June 08 part replaced bimetal controller & timer but fridge still does not work even as of today complaint no (w8c[protected]
4) Still not working as of today June 13

This machine is DEFECTIVE and we have only one fridge in my house .I want this fridge to be replaced immediately as food gets spoilt regularly due to non cooling in the bottom section
i am fed up with this machine and want it replaced immediately. Please feel free to call me on my cell any time.

We have taken Whirlpool Refrigerator(300 ELITE) [double door] just before 3 months, we have given many complaints to the shop where we bought but there is no proper response from their side.

The problem is that "refrigerator cooling system is not working and there is no air flow in it". So all items are spoiled when we keep in it. PLEASE TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION TAKING OUR COMMENT INTO CONSIDERATION.
I agree with all the whirpool complaints, as I have just purchase a 310 ltrs. refrigerator in Feb'08, for last 1 month now the company & its engineers, customer service employees are taking me for a ride. Thay have not been able to fix up the complaint of no cooling at all in the refrigerator. My contact no. is [protected]. I think we all should bring Whirpool company to court only then they will do something about their product. Ps. contact me if you believe in bringing the culprit to the book.
We have purchased a double door refrigerator nearly 15 months back, its stopped working 2 months back. Immediately i gave a complaint they gave me complaint number HD[protected] and they told me that my one year free maintenance is over so they'll charge me Rs.280 and it'll take 48 Hrs to vist my place. Even after two weeks no one turned-up. When i called again they told my ticket has been closed and they are asking me why i'm giving same complaint again...how a complaint can be closed even without attempting to repair (or) no technician visiting my place??? and they gave me another complaint number HD[protected]... it's been TWO months now i have made so many calls to so called customer care center but no one turned-up till now.

PLEASE TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION ON MY COMPLAINT.

Company like whirlpool not able to provide proper after sale service to their customers why they are selling products and instead of spending so much money on their adds why can't they spend the same to retain their customers.

LG 350 L Double door refrigrator — Refrigrator Cooling Problem

I had unfortunately purchased 350 litre LG double door refrigerator this month and refrigerator have problem in cooling from very first day. Days back I complained to LG (rude) customer care that the refrigerator is not working as desired and they assured me that they will send someone within 24 hours to check the refrigerator.

It’s already 5 days of complaint and no one from LG has yet visited my place. I have made around 25 calls to their call centre and every time I am getting the same response that within one hour some technical person from LG will call me and fix the appointment to visit my place.

I asked them to escalate the matter but the call centre executives are not ready to forward their call to any senior manager. I have been facing a lots of problem and mental tension because of this refrigerator. I cannot store vegetable, milk etc at my home. Also, The LG call centre executives are very rude and impolite.

Now please you suggest me what should I do whether I should keep silence or I should stop taking all the products of the LG and suggest my other friends to avoid taking the LG products because of the problem I have faced.

I am very disappointed by the LG product and service.
Please I hope you would surely take some action

Even I have a similar problem. The refrigerator stops cooling in between and all the items get wasted. I complained and the service people changed compressor, gas etc etc. But again after 1 week I observe that sometimes the fridge stops cooling and then again starts working after a gap of some time.
Definitely there is a manufacturing defect with whirlpool refrigerators which causes all these problems.
I am having a 250 ltr double door model about 1.2 yrs old.Does anyone has any idea why is this happening?

Subject: Complaint against after sales and service

We had bought a Whirlpool Refrigerator (230lt, Product R/6, Model no. 10056, SI.no.INCO[protected] on 20th Jul 2006.
Last 1 month before I have lunged a complaint no. 022432 against my Whirlpool Refrigerator (230lt, Product R/6, Model no. 10056, SI.no.INCO[protected] and the service centre M/S Goyal Enterprises, F.I.E patpat ganj Industrial Area Delhi Service Engineer Mr. Abdul attend my complaint (Authorized Service centre for Whirlpool)

Service Engineer Mr. Abdul replaced the refrigerator compressor in under warranty and I was pay A/c gas and electrical Item Charges: 1445/- But again after 3 week I observe that refrigerator stops and where the cooling stops in both compartments, ice gets melt and the food inside gets perished.

This is 2nd time same problem and definitely there is a manufacturing defect with whirlpool refrigerators which causes all these problems. Does anyone have any idea why is this happening?

We are now totally dissatisfied with this product (refrigerator) and your 3rd class after sales and service. And I have a large mistake that was purchase whirlpool product. I want talk to Sr. Customer care.

We would like the company to take immediate actions either to repair the refrigerator to our satisfaction or to replace the same.

Otherwise If I m not satisfied I will write a latter to consumer court and CNBC media.

I agree with the complaints on Whirlpool Refrigerator.

I too had faced similar problems with the Whirlpool Refrigerator. I had purchased a Double Door refrigerator Model No. 340DL DLX INOX 4S - Serial No. INA[protected]Customer ID : MB/C/0208/6033) from Vijay Sales, Borivli East. I had been always having problems with this refrigerator. It stops cooling in between and then we have to register a complaint with the service centre. The technician comes and does something and then it works for some days/months and again the problem recurrs.

I sometimes wonder whether they have sold me a defective one.

Pls note the refrigerator has the cooling problem and it not cooling enough to making the ice cubes in the ice tray. Also the refrigerator consumes electricity more by 50% higher then previous.

The refrigerator has making continuous noise which is very-very irritating and making us mentally upset.

Pls note I have 3 small children’s and wife, and they are forced to stay with the faulty refrigerator, since after so many telephonic complaint this was not taking care by the company. This makes very dangerous effect on my family.

Since the refrigerator is under the warranty period given by the company and we have made so many complaint to the customer care of whirlpool regarding the above problem, but after many telephonic complaint we are not getting any response.

Pls note I am the service person and I can not take leave for the cause which needs to fix by the whirlpool.

Pls help me to get fix this problem or change the refrigerator with new set since the refrigerator is under warranty period or else I have left no choice and take this matter to press & media and consumer court.

within a week again my fridge is not cooling even after compressor change,
i paid Rs1560 to the service engineer/whirlpool but still its not working.

i again requested to whirpool customer care (ref.no. is HR [protected]).

i am totally dissatisfied from the performance/quality of Whirlpool and am worried too that what will happen when its warranty period will be over because i already wasted Rs 1560 on this last week and i dont know how much i have to pay more now.

please arrange some senior qualified engineer to look into the matter to solve the problem permanently.

I have a 350 lts FF magic refrigerator which I purchased in 2003. Exactly 5 years later in Nov the relay stopped working. After repeated complaints a service engineer finally showed up 15 days later.

I have again lodged a complaint on 11 Jun 09 complaint no. 5039/Hyd that the refrigerator is not functioning. I was assured that the service engineer will visit under 24 hrs. Now it is 3 days and someone is yet to call up. Repeated calls to the call centre has yeilded no response except empty promises.

I request people out there to not even consider buying Whirlpool products and the after sales service is one of the worst and they have no regard to the inconvinience caused to the customers.

Worst refrigerator. I recorded my conversation with Sindoor today and demanded a complete replacement. Their technician goofed up the cooling in last call. In first 2 service calls he couldn't fix the cooling and in 3rd call he did something and 2 days back my fridge coil burnt and it blew up.

I'm probably going to launch a Consumer complaint as well as possibly Police Complaint if this is not resolved. Even their website does not have email refrence
We had bought a Whirlpool Refrigerator(250 Mastermind) on 08th June 2008. Just after completing the warranty period, on 15th June, 2009, the refrigerator stops working, where the cooling stops in lower compartment, the food inside gets start spoiling.

We had logged complaint on 24th June, where the Customer care given an eastimate of Rs. 1500 to 2000 for refilling gas, filter & labour charges, Seems very surprising that the refrigerator was waiting for warranty expiry date. We were in trust of this product, but in real terms its not trustworthy.
Would appreciate if the same can be considered within warranty which expires on 8th June09.

I have been a fan of Whirlpool few years back when I first purchased an Air conditioner & then I purchased a Washing machine & then a double door 340L refrigerator. Keeping in view the Service provided by Whirlpool during the years o[censored]se, I had recommended Whirlpool to a number of friends of mine.

This year I had called for a service engineer for service of my AC & washing machine and my Refrigerator for the cooling problem we were facing.

This time I am facing a problem in such a way that it has changed my perception of the Whirlpool Products & I will have to think twice before purchasing the products of Whirlpool.

Reasons for this –
1) We were facing problem of cooling in the refrigerator & water dripping inside the fridge & some boxes to be replaced. I had called for the Service engineer for checking & correcting the problem in the month of April, 29th. The engineer visited on 30th April, corrected the problem of dripping (which was not corrected in actual & is still the same) & asked to kept the fridge outside the Kitchen (which is 15 X 10 feet size). The service charges for the same were paid as Rs.395/- as service charges & Rs.2200/- for the peripherals. We were happy that the problem must be over. We kept the fridge outside the kitchen same but the problem was still the same. – Call reference No. GB[protected] Dt. 29.04.2009
2) We called in for the Service engineer again on 15.05.2009 & gave him again the description of the problem. He again tried something & later told us that another engineer would be visiting again. – Call reference No. GB[protected] dated 15.05.2009.
3) When nobody turned up for a few days I called upon the customer care again around 22nd or 23rd (I don’t remember the date as I was not provided with the Call reference No.) & I was told that they are having the problem unresolved in their systems too & very soon engineer Mr. Zafar Khan would be visiting.
4) Mr. Zafar Khan visited around 26th or 27th of May, carried out checkup & told me that as the climate was not very hot during that time (due to the rains during that period) he would be visiting as the climate becomes more hot & gave me his mobile No. as well. We waited for him for the next week but when he didn’t turn up we tried his mobile. One day he didn’t picked up his phone & now we are getting message that the mobile is switched off.
5) Today, 8th June 2009 14:15 pm, when I called up the customer care again, to my surprise, I was told that why have I not spoken to the customer care about all this & that I need to pay the Service charges again for the new visit. When I told him that the problem is still unresolved & why should I pay the Service charges for the same problem again & when I narrated him the entire sequence of the events, he told me that he shall be arranging a callback from a senior person.
6) On 8th June 2009 17:15 pm, I received a call from the Senior person who after listening to the problems I am facing, said that he would give me a call back soon, who didn’t call me thereafter.

I am not able to understand that why the problem is not getting rectified. Is it that the Whirlpool is interested in making money in after sales service only & not in the customer satisfaction. I have no hitch in paying service charges but the why should I re-pay the Service charges for the problem which has not been cured as yet.

We are facing problem of cooling in such a way that all the things kept inside the fridge gets spoiled. Even the milk gets contaminated overnight.

I’m having another refrigerator 175 litres of LG which is 5 years older than this one, but performing in a better way. Please guide me, should I change my perception about the Whirlpool products.

I am also facing the same problem of refrigerator not cooling company said the gas of refrigerator is getting leaked. Now the problem occurs at least twice yearly and we end up paying the some of around Rs. 700 on each service.

The continuous Problem in the refrigerator has changed my perception of the company.
It has let the credibility of the company down at least for me.
I too have a Whirlpool Icemagic elite 350 model.
For the last one - one and half months I am facing the same problem.
Though the indicator LED glows, the cooling stops in both the compartments and the food stuff inside the refrigetor spoils.
Each time we log a complaint, the service engineer comes nad replaces a part called 'Modular' and the story repeats within 7-10 days. Today is his 5th or 6th. visit.

I think the issue is with this model of Whirlpool.

Whirlpool should come one with a scheme to replace their defective pieces by giving some good replacement option.
I am open to invest some money, if this is workable.
