Indian Army — fraud over olx-duped off 4500

Address:490025

I had posted an ad on olx for floor touch gown sale. This person called me on aug 9, 2019 and identified himself as an army personnel. We settled for rs 1500 as payment. He called me after couple of hours and told me that he wants to get it picked from someone else but would like to make a payment in advance over google pay. I told him that i don't use google pay but can take on phonepe. He sent me a request of rs 1500 on phonepe through upi. I told him that it is asking me to pay rather than him paying the amount. He told me that it will first debit my account and then add double of that amount. I did not agree to it and told him that this is not possible. He said this is how it works and requested me to try it with rs 5 transaction and i agreed to it. Rs 5 got debited from i account and rs 10 got credited. Believing him, i accepted rs 1500 transaction. My account got debited of rs 1500 but rs 3000 didn't get credit. Upon this he said that there is some error in swipe machine from which we are doing. He said he is sorry. So asked me to do again with rs 2987 as code for receiving 1500 so i can get my money back but again same thing happened and i got duped of approx. Rs 4500. For which he said that you have to click pay and recieve option code for two times. Then this person told me that he will refund my full money in my debit card though swipe machine and asked told him to transfer the money in my account which he didnt do. This went on for couple of hours.

I told this person to send my money in my bank account which he said he cannot do. He keep insisting that its an army camp and only method he can transfer money is through swipe machine into phonepe / paytm etc.

Please help me get my rs 4500. The id of army person praveen sharmais attached.

Mere sath bhi aesa hi huya mene olx pe fon post kiya tha 2200 ka or kisi indian army se manjeet nam k ek bande ka fon aaya or usne fon k liye online payment by canteen scope machine se payment karne laga or pehle usne scan k duaara 5 rs mujhe send karne ko kha or bad me jb mene kiya to 10rs mere account me aaye mujhe visvas ho gya fir bad me unse 2000ka scan code beja or use send kiya or khuj vapis nhi aaya tabi m samj gya ki ye froud hai or usne fon kat diya..

Same thing was attempted with me for my orbitrek on OLX this morning. But I felt something fishy and I refused this payment option. He kept on insisting, with the same Rs.5 magic. I never agreed. The point is he said he is in Delhi and reacted as if he knows my locality very well. When I started questioning him about my city, he said his son resides here and he knows nothing about the city. I told him directly that you a trying a scam and he never denied. He kept on insisting for Rs.5 payment, "Sir aap try karke dekho, isi liye chota amount bheja hoon "which i denied and told him if he could do any other payment let's proceed otherwise NO. He said he has no other payment option as he is a military personnel by name Shrikanth. I said No and I disconnected the call. Later I searched for such scams and I read this here. This is continuing. Beware. Jai hind.

I forgot to mention, I have his number on the request for Rs.5 sent by him on the above pic. If you can trace him down it would lead to dissolve this complaint.
Two more people called me stating the same they are from Indian Army, numbers are [protected], [protected] &, [protected]. Pls be careful. Request government to take nesessary action
This too happened on March 16, 2021, in the name of Army Personnel they pretend to buy from online shop of small and mid businesses. And do the same modus operandi to dupe citizens of our country. The Thief to be booked and traced raise the complaint to national crime bureau and book the culprits behind bars.
I just got duped out of 5000. I should have known. It was rather odd that I have to pay 5000 to get a credit of 5000. The same tactic was used. The person first sent Rs. 5/- and 5 got debited from my account and I got a credit of Rs. 10/-.

I had posted the sale of a sofa set on Marketplace. I received a call from a Rahul Sharma claiming to own a furniture shop. We agreed on a price of 16k. He said he will pay 10k now through Phonepe and then transfer the remaining once he collects the sofa, through his helper.

After the Rs. 5/- attempt, he sent me a request for 10k. Fortunately, my PhonePe refused to transact the amount. After which, I transferred most of the money to another account of mine and kept a minimum account. But he kept insisting and sent another link for 5k. I believed him and transacted through the bank's mobile app and the money got deducted from my account. But, I should get a credit of Rs. 10000/-, which didn't happen. He kept insisting that since the first 10k didn't go through, this 5k will show as processing and will not go through. He insisted that I give him another bank account or ask someone else to send money to my account and carry out the 10k transaction. I refused.

He didn't seem to be too concerned about the apparent 15k he lost. I'm worried I lost the 5k.
I have all details on whatsapp. He even sent me the location of his shop in Indranagar, Bangalore - 100ft road is quite popular. So, anyone would know that detail.

I believe I won't get the 5k back. And I don't really know if I can pursue a police complaint...posting this here so anyone reading this will not get duped like I did.

Hi,
I have also got a call from Rahul Sharma for my Olx post for selling Bed. He says that he runs a furniture shop at Bommasandra.
He keep insisting me to use that QR code to receive money, I firmly told I can't trust this kind of payment and disconnected the call. He called few more times to convince me but finally I have told that I am not interested to sell anything to him. Then I found this link where lot of people got similar calls.

Reported and blocked user from Olx, whatzapp and true caller. I hope to take better measure for this kind of people.
