Keeping details in short and crisp manner:
1) My uncle (Madhu R) demised on 26th February, 2021. This information got intimated to the bank and also death certificate submitted in person.
2) My sister is a house wife and has 2 school age kids. I am supporting my sister/uncle's family now.
3) We (my and my sister/uncle's wife) have requested the KVB bank manager of Chinnamanur branch to provide official copies of loan documents, sanction letter, official statement of loan/credit insurance on the loan to know the full details of loan (and this is allowed as per the law).
4) While my uncle was alive, he have told his wife (my sister) that he have put loan/credit insurance in the loans he has availed. But after his death the bank is suppressing the credit insurance details and haven't provided needed documents on loan document copies, sanction letter and official statement about loan/credit insurance.
5) My uncle had one car loan and agriculture loan with KVB bank. This complaint focuses primarily on car loan.
6) We have asked several times with bank manager orally, in written, by email and complained to KVB customer care (even to Principal nodal officer) but no proper response we got. In return for asking loan insurance details and sanction copies, we got a letter which says my sister have signed as the guarantor for car loan and MOD/mortgage copy details of agri loan are attached - both of this is general and doesn't give our needed details of loan.
Both of this is NOT asked/needed for. We have asked for loan sanction copies and loan forms which clearly mentions the credit insurance paid when availing loan (amount) along with other details like EMI, etc. We want to know the credit insurance details and if bank are to deny it they have to give these document copies first (for us to verify) and also an official statement stating there is no loan/credit insurance in car loan. This is not happening so far.
6) The response from bank (after submission of death certificate) is like the death of my uncle is not at all considered and they have mentioned my uncle as a defaulter and sent notice to both my uncle and my sister to pay the dues. The loan EMIs for car loan are paid properly till his death. Much later after several complaints, they sent a note saying that uncle have availed two loans - car loan (no details or single word mentioned about insurance on it), agri loan (for which the bank states he refused to put insurance) and started mentioning about life insurance of my uncle.
None of this is related to what we are specifically asking - give us the complete loan document copies and sanction letters, credit insurance details (official statement) and then only we can look into it.
We are tired of asking the bank and it's customer care. Kindly look into it to make the bank give us the needed details. We are pretty sure bank is suppressing the details of loan/credit insurance which will cover the entire loan amount on death of borrower. Their behavior is an anomaly and this is our understanding/perception of bank's behavior.
Kindly please look into this and help us in getting needed copies of loan documents and more specifically on loan/credit insurance details on the car loan.
