Never ever have seen a company whose service is as unprofessional as that of morphy richards, india. I placed an online order from the company's online store for a room heater and made the payment online (Approx. Rs. 12, 495) on the 19th of january, 2020. The predict was to be delivered in five days, but even after nine days, neither was the product delivered, nor was there any intimation on the order status.
Several phone calls made to the toll-free number were futile, for apparently no customer service is available. After a lot of difficulty, i got to speak to the manager who said he will get back to me with the contacts of the concerned person. He called me later to let me know the order is being delayed for some reason and that he will connect me with the appropriate person to resolve the issue. But instead of giving me the contact, he went ahead and cancelled the order without my consent on the 29th.
When i wrote to him saying that i had not asked him to cancel the order, but only asked that i be put in touch with the right person, he blatantly denied it (Politely though) and said that i had indeed asked him over phone to do so! Interestingly, i received an email from the customer service shortly after that, saying that my order was cancelled by them due to unavailability of the product, thereby vindicating my stand.
I am likely to get the money refunded, but am very annoyed ankit the whole episode:
1. I waited for the heater to arrive, only to have the order cancelled unilaterally by the company after ten days.
2. The company did not inform me that they were out of stock even after accepting the payment, until i inquired.
3. The customer service number provided was not the correct one, and none seemed to know what is the correct contact.
4. The manager had falsely alleged that i had requested for cancellation of the order, when it was done at their end.
5. As of today (3-feb-2020) there is no response from anyone when i asked them for an explanation.
I wish someone responsible could address these issues.
