I purchased an led wall mounted 42 inch sansui tv in 2014 and it suddenly blanked out in april this year. So on april 30th i registered a complaint on the sansui customer complaint number at bhubaneswar. A technician turned up on 4th may only after i contacted mr niranjan dalai, the sales mgr who had sold me the set. Anyway, he told me that the picture chip (?) was damaged and would have to be replaced at a cost of rs 14, 000/-. Since it carries a three year warranty, i requested for it to be covered but the technician said that the company could not find my invoice and as such i would have to pay the entire amount. I again contacted mr dalai who hasd told me i had 3 years warranty and he said that the cost would be covered and he would contact the service centre to take care of the issue. Thereafter two months passed with several calls to the sansui, service asi giridhari whose contact no had been provided by mr dalai and mr dalai himself. After several unanswered calls and texts, i finally threatened to file a complaint before the consumer court. Mr dalai then asked me to text the serial no on the tv[protected] which i did and around 15th july he took my call and told me that my tv had been purchased in feb 2014 and the extended warranty had applied from march so i was not eligible. Incidentally, when i told him that i was being forced to take legal steps he was very rude and told me that he was not responsible for service as he was a sales person. As if the person who sold the product is absolved of all responsibility when it comes to service. Anyway, it took three months just to tell me this. Since the technician who first came had taken my invoice, i had no way of knowing what was the truth. I have been robbed, cheated, harassed and humiliated. To add insult to injury, no one has bothered to come to fix the problem even after that. I don't know of worse service in any fmcg company in india and am ruing the day i bought sansui products. I request you to get my tv repaired with warranty for the picture chip asap. I am ready to pay service charge.
