Booked suite a room for munnar for 3 nights at plum judy, 24, 500 debited from my account and a day before check in i got a msg that room is not available with a suggested 3 star hotel 30 kms away from previous one.
I was asked to wait till 12.00 am to resolve the issue... Called them at 11.55 pm and the manager replied that reservations are now closed lease call tomorrow that is when we were expected to check in. After repeated mails and calls all i got at the end was sorry mam no other hotel is available.

    Cancelled hotel booking without notice

    We had booked a hotel room in the Byke Hotel, Matheran and had paid 17, 010 rupees for the same through this website. We got an email confirming the booking from the site.

    Imagine our shock when we reached the hotel to find that our room had never been booked. It was a mistake made by travelguru. We tried calling there but no one picked up our call for over an hour. We sat there, tired and confused.

    I don't understand how websites like travelguru still retain their licence to do business despite rejecting bookings paid and confirmed way ahead. I had an uncle in Australia booking through travel guru, got a confirmation and then 3 days before the date, advise us there are no rooms available! Isn't that a clear violation of their travel agent licence?

      Called Travelguru at the numbers with no help. Such a same that foreign tourist had to sleep in station. I have attached the picture of the hotel booking and also the post of Paul in Facebook. Travelguru is no even in facebook

      Booking Reference Number[protected] for Mr Gene Paul Castillo from Phillipines not honoured after he reached Mathura at 13th March 2017 at 1am morning. Hotel Aditya, ADDRESS: Sonkh Adda Junction Road, MATHURA 281001 PHONE: 2410098 denied about any online booking and this tourist has to sleep in the platform of Mathura Station as no other hotels were available. When tried to call Travelguru helpline, noome attended the call, utmost shame.. please refund and update through a refund email.

        I have booked a hotel from a website called travel guru in guduru. They have deducted the money and sent one voucher stating i can check in as requested. I was attending a funneral and to take some rest and freshen up i have booked that hotel which is located near railwaystation. Train was already late and i am late for the funneral rituals. When i went to that hotel they told me they dont have any online facility for booking. They i called the travel guru people and they are requesting us to pay money for the room at the desk over there to checkin and they will refund the money. They have mentioned that the booking got cancelled and they didnt informed us about it. We were roaming here and there and a lot of mental stress because of that. As i am having migraine it flared up fue to this. I have asked them for a penalty along with the refund for our physical and mental stress. They told us they will give a call back today itself but they didnt. Thats the reason i am lodging a complaint against them and i want justice for this. Please take appropriate action on them.
        I have filed a case against your website in ic3 and you will definitely need to give an explanation on this. Penalty along with the refund is necessary as i just travelled long distance because of you guys to search another hotel and that too after getting late to my aunts funneral.

          I had booked three rooms on 11th Feb 2017 through Travel Guru vide reference number[protected], hotel reference number TGU[protected] and paid certain amount to them and received confirmation. ( Hotel Niladri )

          Today got call from Travel guru on 14 march 2017 that they cannot provide me the room and asked me to cancel the same.

          I am extremely disappointed with this company and want you to look into the same.
          Kindly cancel my booking ref:[protected] and hotel confirmation number:TGU[protected] which was booked at Sripada vijayawada.kindly cancel my order and do the needful at the earliest.

              Travelguru is the worst. 6 weeks before my Pondicherry vacation I paid Travelguru Rs.8986 for 2 nights (Rs.4493 per night) at the Villa Bayoud and received an email confirmation from them. When my wife and I arrived at the beachfront hotel and showed the manager our Travelguru confirmation, he looked very surprised because they had been fully booked for two months and had even notified Travelguru of the same.

              I called customer service and spoke with Niranjan Dhamankar, who said we could either (1) request a full refund and find another hotel ourselves or (2) have Travelguru call me back in 30 minutes with alternative options of equivalent or better price and location. As it was a long public holiday weekend and the town’s hotels were almost all booked, I decided on option 2.

              Niranjan never called back so after 90 minutes I called and he proposed Lotus A Pondy Hotel. When I asked what the price was in comparison to the Villa Bayoud, he replied that it was much higher, but not to worry as Travelguru would cover this cost because of the inconvenience. Not only was the location considerably worse (not beachfront and not even in White Town), but when I immediately googled the price of it, I found the same deluxe room at 1899 per night! So because we accepted Niranjan’s so called help, we lost Rs.5188 (Rs.8986 minus 3798), not to mention the aggravation..

              When I got back to Hyderabad I emailed Niranjan and asked for a refund of Rs.5188. He refused, and when I asked to be put in touch with his manager or the Head of Customer Service he also refused! I followed up by email for a couple of weeks but never heard back from him (Customer Service) or from the Feedback department, who I cc’d to my emails.

                Hotel Confirmation no- TGU[protected]

                I made a booking for Coco's resort GOa on 19th Jan 2017 paying RS 4945, recieved a confirmation mail from travelguru, but at the time of checkin to the hotel, reception denied the booking. Travelguru did not intimate us regarding the same, not they gave us an alternate for this. Our holiday was totaly ruined. Nor my amount has been refunded yet. I need a strict action against the. I have all the supporting documents.

                This is one of the Worst hotel booking site. I had booked a hotel in Goa 15 days prior to my visit. Got an email confirmation with the booking voucher & details from Travelguru. At the check in time, after reaching at hotel the reception denied the booking, saying that it was not confirmed. We waited for almost 6 hours, gave number of calls to Travelguru, but the issue wasnt resolved. They did not intimate us about the cancellation nor they were ready to refund the amount.Customer support is not good. I would suggest not to book anything from this site, . they are hopeless people. If they are not able to run this site they should close it. Total waste of time!!!

                  I booked a online hotel for 2 days with travel guru i payed full amount to them on 28 dec 16.my booking was on 30dec16 to 31dec16.On 30dec16 when i reached the hotel at 7pm the hotel manager told that no booking is done with ur name.after continously trying for 1 hour thier representative attend the call and told that we have booked alternate hotel for u pls check in their when i reached that hotel the hotel told they have no room available i again called travelguru and they told that they will call in 15 min and arrange a hotel but they didnt call or arrange a hotel i have to wait for 3 hours in cold with my family in manali bus stand waiting for thier call but they didnt bother to call .

                    I booked one room (Booking date 08.12.2016 Ref: [protected] Hotel Confirmation Number: TGU[protected])
                    Hotel Utopia, Daringbadi, Orissa for 2 days 20 and 21st December 2016 by paying full amount Rs.2233.00 online.. I was travelling by Car on 20th and on the way when I got Net connectivity I received an email that no room is available and to contact Mrs. Renu over phone. When I contacted Mrs. Renu, she told that no room can be provided but she can try for some alternative after we reach there. On the way it was evening and we were to cross hills amidst dense forest. Since I was travelling by Car with my family, as per locals advise we decided to stay back on the way. Same was informed to Travelguru officials and I confirmed that I will reach next morning and to inform the same to Hotel Utopia. When we reached Daringbadi on 21st morning after travelling 700 kms by road, the Hotel Authorities informed that no room is available.It was not booked since they were not paid by Travelguru.From the hotel I contacted Travelguru when they informed that they will call Mrs. Renu and call me back. That phone never came. Mrs. Renu never came to picture. Ultimately I had to leave Daringbadi without staying there since no accomodation was available. Immediately I sent one email to Travelguru for refund of Hotel Booking amountRs.2233.00 and Driver and Petrol charges etc.The email has not yet been replied.

                      I booked 2 rooms via Travel Guru in hotel Housez43 in Kolkata for 16th Dec (check-in) and 17th Dec (check-out)
                      I made full payment via Travel Guru website and had a confirmation voucher for check-in
                      I read all the terms and conditions and carried my valid ID (Driver's license) for check-in.
                      I had 2 colleagues with me (one male and one female) who were also checking in with me and were also carrying valid ID proof (Driver's license)
                      I, along with my colleagues, were denied check-in to the hotel due to local ID proof. They mentioned that it is their policy to not let people with local ID check-in to their hotel.
                      I respected their policy and did not argue with them, instead I called up Travel Guru several times trying to convince them for a refund of the money (close to Rs. 6000)
                      Travel guru spoke to the hotel and denied any refund on the grounds that the above is a "PAN India rule" and that the rule says that you can't check in to any hotel in India with a local ID proof.
                      I never heard of this rule and challenged Travel Guru that their voucher did not mention this in the "Terms and Conditions" and the service desk representative told me that I should know all legal regulations before checking in to a hotel. They also told me that I had a female colleague with us and that is also against the law and that I should have carried a marriage certificate with me.
                      However, the hotel knew in advance that we had a female colleague checking in with us and they had no issues with that. Travel Guru was making this an issue just to make their stand against the re fund.
                      They emphasized that I was breaking a law and there is no way they can process a refund of money.

                      Again, the terms and conditions on the voucher only mentioned that I should have a valid ID proof (for example DL), which all o[censored]s were carrying.

                      I checked the website of The Hotel Association of India (HAI) and spoke to my lawyer and found out that there is no law that prohibits customers with local ID check into a hotel. Neither is there a law against unmarried couple checking in to a hotel.

                      All I wanted was a refund of the money because Travel Guru did not provide me with clear terms and conditions before taking my money and are now shrugging off any responsibilities for the refund.

                        As promised that refund of hotel cancellation will be credited back to account within 05 days working days however 7days has passed still refund is not credite. The cancellation ID provided by Travelguru is. TGU[protected]. As committed full refund will be initiated if cancellation was done before 5th of December for hotel booked in Candle Wood Park, Mandarmani, West Bengal from 6th of December to 9th of December for 03 Nites so the cancellation was done of 4th of December which is much before the specified date & time for cancellation still i don't understand why it is taking so much time for refund to be credited.

                        Concerned person is requested to look into it & get the amount if Rs 10708/- refund initiated & credited as soon as possible

                          I have been cheated by Travel Guru.On 05 November 2016, I was routed through Trip Advisor website to Travel Guru's website for making a booking of Periyar Villa Homestay, Thekkady, Kerala. I made a booking for Periyar Villa Homestay, Thekkady, Kerala through Travel Guru's official website by paying an amount of Rs. 1495/- (Advance credit card payment). My booking ID for this transaction is[protected].

                          On reaching Periyar Villa Homestay, Thekkady on 23rd November 2016, we got to know that there is no booking confirmation from Travel Guru's end. Infact, we were told that they have no tie up with Travel Guru which means we cannot book Periyar Villa Homestay through Travel Guru's website. Immediately, we contacted travel guru's representative and explained the whole issue. To our surprise, we were told by travel guru's representative to wait for half n hour (when we were tired from our journey and we had no place to stay). Still we waited for a call back from travel guru's end which never came. On receiving no resolution we paid on the spot (Rs. 3500/-) to Periyar Villa for our stay.

                          After few hours, we again contacted the travel guru's helpline number and again explained our issue. This time we were told that our booking was made for 'Ambadi Junction, Thekkady' instead of 'Periyar Villa Homestay, Thekkay'. Nowhere in our booking confirmation, hotel name is mentioned as 'Ambadi Junction'. In the confirmation email received from Travel Guru's end, hotel name is written as Periyar View, Thekkady.

                          On top of it, travel guru's representative behaviour was so bad; they knew that some sort of booking mistake has been done by their system. Instead of helping the client, they were disconnecting the call by using old call centre cheap technique of 'Hello Hello your voice is not audible' when we were conversing from past 15-20 minutes. I spoke with 3-4 travel guru representatives and none of them agreed to help. By this time, they had clearly spoiled our holiday and stay at Thekkady.

                          This is a clear miss from travel guru's end due to which I had to incur an additional expense of Rs 3, 500/-. No where in our confirmation email or during the booking, we were told that booking is being made for 'Ambadi Junction'. Infact it is only through trip advisor we were landed on travel guru's booking page of Periyar Villa Homestay, Thekkady.

                          We stayed for one night in Thekkaddy and our budget for the night was Rs. 1, 495/- only. Due to this kind of technical fault and poor servicing from travel guru’s end, we had to pay 3, 500/- extra for staying at Periyar Villa Homestay. For your reference, please find attached bill for staying at Periyar Villa Homestay.

                          I would urge you to please get my 3, 500/- Rs. refunded from travel guru as this is the additional amount which I had to pay for staying in Thekkady.

                            I have booked a resort through travelguru.com with confirmation id TGU[protected] dated 24/11/2016. But, they never shared the contact person and other details of hotel. I sent a mail to their customer support team ([protected]@travelguru.com) on 25th asking details of hotel contact person's name and contact number, but they never respond.

                            And, after 1 week on 2nd Dec 2016 they mailed me saying that my booking with the hotel is not confirmed. After confirmation of booking from travelguru side how they can tell later that its not confirmed with hotel. How reliable and trustworthy is their service?

                              The Telephone No. [protected] and[protected] are not working. Even the mail sent to the id given in their Website '"[protected]@travelguru.com'" came back as Undeliverable.
                              The Hotel for which I reserved accommodation through their Website (Hotel Dev's Paradise, Bangalore) refused me a room though I had obtained their consent for checking in late. I had paid the entire Rent in advance through Net Banking.
                              Now I am not able to contact this Company.

                                I have a strong complaint against Travel Guru.

                                On November 6th, 2016, in the afternoon, I sought to make a reservation through Travel Guru for a cottage in Hoysala Village Resort (near Hassan). The reservation was for a 2-night stay for 3 adults, checking in on November 8th and checking out on November 10th.

                                The website of travel guru (accessed by clicking on Tripadvisor page) led us through the 3 steps required for the reservation, with the final one being payment for the above, amounting to Rs 21, 533/. This was done through the internet banking facility. The bank transaction was correctly made, and this significant amount has been deducted from my account and credited to Travel Guru Pvt Ltd. I later verified this as below:

                                However, at the end of transaction, instead of getting a confirmation of reservation, the computer screen came up with a message, ‘Internal Server Error’ from travel guru.

                                I immediately called up the travel guru number, and spoke to an agent; she took down all my particulars – name, e-mail, phone number, dates for reservation in the said resort, and the amount paid already – and checked her system and then said that no reservation has been made in my name. She was most unhelpful, saying that we should wait to hear from the ‘payments department’, which would get in touch with us after 24 hours.
                                Given that we were seeking a reservation for November 8th, and it is already November 6th, and the amount has already been debited from my account, such a long gap in responding was unacceptable. On mentioning this to the agent, she tried to mollify us by saying that we might hear on our e-mail id by this evening. It is now already 11 pm and I have received no e-mail or sms message. A fairly large amount of money has been debited, and no reservation has been done! This is cause for tremenduous anxiety.

                                  Hi, I have booked kumbhalgarh resort v lake alpis through travel guru. After 7 days of confirmation they have sent mail of cancellation. This company doesn't have professional attitude to call you back even after so many reminders. They exist to cheat customers and earn money. I want to take this matter at higher escalation matrix. I have sent couple of mails and made calls to their customer care but no positive response. It seems they even don't care for customers.

                                  I have promised one of the memorable vacation to my family durig diwali festival which got ruined by such fraud company.

                                    I happened to book the hotel through Travel Guru. The Booking ID is MOTG[protected] booked on (Date: Jan 17, 2016 8:56 PM) for the future date - Sat 6 Feb 2016.
                                    Due to some medical emergency we had to cancel the stay at Hotel Palms Residency New Adgoan Naka, near Aurangabad Naka, Mumbai Agra road, Panchvati India.
                                    We happened to cancel the said booking on Feb 4, 2016 at 2:01 PM.

                                    Their Terms and Condition reads:

                                    "First night cost (including taxes & service charge) will be charged if you cancel this booking by 04-Feb-16 12:00 PM IST. No refund if you cancel this booking later than 04-Feb-16 12:00 PM IST. You might be charged upto the full cost of stay (including taxes & service charge) if you do not check-in to the hotel."
                                    Which means, if a customer books a package of 2 nights or more for 6th Feb, 2016 and cancels it on 4th Feb, 2016, after 12 pm IST, he will be charged only for first night stay and second night stay will be refunded back. So now, where is the clause if a customer books for only one night?? That is not mentioned anywhere on their website.

                                    2. Even after booking through them, why am I suppose to TALK TO MR. UMESH for refund of money? If this was to be done by me, then why have I booked it through Travel Guru?? Is it ethical?

                                    3. The service executive statement says "With reference, we have already tried to convince the hotelier for refund, however they have denied for same." - . Then who will pay for the loss If they were not able to convince the hotelier for the refund, I shouldn't be the one who will suffer !!!

                                    4.The next service executive statement says:
                                    "With reference to the trail mail, kindly note that Mr. Umesh has clearly denied for refund due to last minute cancellation. Hence request you to kindly speak to him once and in case he is ready for the same get an approval mail from them so that we can assist you further."
                                    Am I an executive of their team for which I am suppose to get an approval mail for refund?? I think so, NO, if i had to do their job then I wouldn't be complaining here.

                                    Lastly, Rs. 2, 770 i.e Two thousand seven hundred and seventy rupees, is not a small amount for me and I won't bear the loss due to Travel guru's blunder.

                                      I will not bear the loss. This is a fraudulent act.
