Dear Lee, My name is Harsh Jhunjhunwala and I am a alumni of London Business School. At the outset I regret having to send across this email to you. I have been totally exhausted by the poor customer service from American Express and I am writing to you for your help. Please find below details of my compliant - After a lot of conversations and email exchanges I have been unable to get them to do a simple thing. I have been an active user of my American Express card since almost last 1 year. I have paid all my dues on time and never paid any interest costs. Sometime this August I made my bookings through American Express in South Africa. One of the bookings didnt go through and I was told by the hotel to speak with American Express about it. I spoke to American Express representative Ms. Sakshi Kharbanda on around 21st August. I was told that she would get back within 24-58 hours. She didnt get back on time. When i followed up I was rudely told that I had never placed such a request. When I asked for the call records, I was told that the call wasnt recorded and it was my duty to record the call. Based on this the hotel cancelled my honeymoon booking. I had to later rebook at a much higher cost. After this I placed a request to close my account. After several follow ups they agreed to close the card. I asked for the final bill amount. This once again took several email and follow ups on phone. On finally receiving the final bill - I paid the entire amount and was told over email that I had cleared my account payment. I had also placed a request to redeem my points in first week of September against airline vouchers. I have been repeatedly told that the airline vouchers would be sent but they have never come to me. I have had several email exchanges when I am being told that the vouchers would come in next 24-48 hours, I was also told over phone that a supervisor would contact me - which has never happened. I have sent dozens of emails for which I dont get responses ever on time. Curiously the person managing this entire conversation is the person who effected my honeymoon booking - Ms. Sakshi Kharbanda. Till now the airline fares have increased by over 50% as I am waiting for the vouchers to book for the holiday season. American Express and Ms. Sakshi Kharbanda are not at all worried about the customer.

    American Express has provided me an unlimited credit card. When the sale executive approached me to sell this card. He said this was interest free card with no string attached except for an annual fee. He said this card has a 52 days credit period from the date the transition is made and if payment is not paid in full post 52days the card will be block until payment is made and NO Interest charges. I received the card and then realized that the sale executive cheated on me selling this card by providing wrong information. There is 5% interest charge on the card if payment not paid in full by the due date and the 52 days credit period works the same as any other credit card and not starts from the time transaction is made. I spoke to customer care and asked them to cancel the card and refund the annual fee paid of Rs1200 and they are yet to get back to me.

      Unauthorized credit card charges

      I was Amex cr card holder no.[protected] . The charge me a insurance policy amt. about Rs 247735.70 . which is not mine. They call me daily about 2/3 times to recover the money. In every call i tell there mistake . But continuously calling and mentaly torcher me. After few month a officer call me and understand the fact and remove all figure from my a/c. After 15days again diffent 2 person calling for same matter.

      I would like to raise a concern and a complaint against American Express Credit Cards. There is apparently a concern being raised with the company which has not been addressed even after rigorous follow ups from my side which has led to missing my monthly bill, late payment and affecting my credit score. The details of the case are as follows I had purchased a product with a cost price of Rs 46, 690 on 31st Aug 2014, with a EMI scheme (sold by american express executive) with 1.25 % interest. I was been informed about the EMI as Rs 5, 592 for 9 months. I have paid all my 8 EMIs to the company and on time. When the last EMI bill got generated the EMI was increased by 410 Rs. On inquiring the company on 18th June 2015, I was told by the executive that the company charges the same for interest adjustments. On checking the calculations of 9 EMIs (5592 * 9 = 50, 328, which is already higher by Rs 3, 638 than the cost price and does not even include the additional 410 Rs which is been billed to me in the last month). I raised this as a concern to the company and asked for the clarifications as to how did 1.25 % interest lead to Rs 4028, which they have not been able to clarify. I have even asked their seniors / experts to call me, for which i have not received any calls. In the interim I have followed up upfrontly from my side (3 times before the next bill been generated) but still nothing has materialised. Every time i receive an answer of will get back to you in 24 hours and no one comes back. In the process I have been charged late payment fee and more importantly my credit score has been affected without any fault of mine. The company's collections team had called me up for the payment and spoke very rudely with me. Even when i requested them to check the background of my case, they didnt listen and blocked my card immediately creating so much of embarrassment. I have tried communicating with them softly without raising my voice or loosing my cool. Even In the last conversation with the executive, I was been requested to make the min payment of Rs 7000 which also I have paid, still they have not been able to come back to me for the resolution. I am not adding up my credit card number here for security reasons, however I am attaching the reference numer of my complaint which is American Express Reference number GC-1539K.

        I am Dipen Trivedi . I have called ammex services 5 times. I kept requesting them to cancel my card and agreed to pay the amout due. After making all the payments on time I always have a new bill amount that stands outstanding. They always asked for a reason so as to why I wanted to cancel my card where as the card termination rules clearly mention that I can cancel my card at any point of time without giving any explanations. On calling the 6th time today, I still have an outstanding amount and they still say that my card will be cancelled after I pay the amount due. I really need to know why is this happening and need to get rid of this card.

          Hello, My Credit Card No. Is :[protected]. My Name : - Atish S Channawar I have already paid my full and final amount in this month. Tried to close my account 100 times via Service center phone no. but not responding to my call at single time. Now they have incurred membership charges with tax and finance charge as well. When I am trying to communicate that I want to close my account, these people are not responding. So by what way I can close this issue. I will not pay renewal fees as I don't want this card.             Dear Sir, This is with reference to my application regarding American Express Pay Back Credit Card for which I had submitted my all related documents attested copies and also the original papers shown to Mr. Basu your representative for collecting the documents for onward process. Sir, It is no matter if my card not approved by the concerned corner but I feel I have been harassed unnecessarily on this issue. I procured all relevant documents on your pressure and telephonically discussions. Later I was assured that my credit card has been approved and not to be worried more. All discussions recorded conversations are with me. Now, after one month a payback card of no use(Not American Express Credit Cards) has been sent to me on my residence address on 20/6/2015 with comments that I had not submitted my documents to you which is totally wrong.. I apprehension that my documents are being used unauthorisedly somewhere else. I had not applied for the paper piece(payback card) and I am not interested in it. Please look into it what is going on and if the documents misused without my prior permission is violation of law. I need a concert reply. If the genuine reply not received I shall knock the door for justification of this incident. Prompt reply will be appreciated.               I Archana agarwal has applied american express make my trip credit card on 8th april, 2015. as said by the amex team the card will be delivered by 7 working days. i had given a request the card as earliest as possible because i had planned a holiday trip from 27th april. but unfortunately the did not deliver the card . i got a letter saying i was not available when the card was sent on 11th may 2015. i had again given a request for delivering the card on 16th may 2015 and they said by 20th may the card will be delivered. till today i.e 27th may the card is not delivered but iam getting statement for the amount due . i have called the customer care several times they say we have processed the request or the systems are not working.

                i am holding american express gold charge card. i got a message stating that 480 Euro has been intiated on my card while i was in india. i immediately called american express stating that i never made such transaction. they told me that my card was blocked and this harge wont reflect in your statement, and they even told me that charge intiated has a validity for 8 days, if that particularly dosen't claim that charge within it days, that transaction gets cancelled. but after 15days checked my statement i showed me a charge debited from my account. and now american express people are telling me that they will look after the matter and get back to us.

                  I, Avinash dadhich, work as Manager at Deloitte Gurgaon office. My current CTC is 17.02 Lakhs . I was contacted by your person named Vineet and i gave him my all documents and asked him to collect Adhar card and joining letter today. When i gave him these documents today, he did not accept joining letter but demanded detailed break up of salary. I have already give him too much time for documentation and his new demand is not professional. He behaved very badly with me and seems that he does not care for complaint. He mentioned yesterday that he is leaving your org very soon. That is your matter but as a consumer, i want good professional services . I am very disappointed by your organization.

                      Card Sold making false committment

                      I am using American Express Gold Card, this card was offered to me by an executive few months back. No one informed me that this is charge card and not a credit card. I purchase a apple iphone 5s cost about Rs 52, 500/- which i use my credit card Rs45, 000/- remaining paid by cash, before i purchased it iphone for clarification of repayment i spoke one of your customer care service executive .Mr Punnet, he assured me made of payment installment without interest & hidden charges applicable and also benefit pay back points, communication with Mr Punnet I satisfied & decided to swipe my credit card by payment of Rs45000/- after purchasing good the Bank is not co-operating with me they are charge me interest & all hidden charges including with installment amount, I done payment every month by cheque Rs 4152/- paid with in Due Date respectively and always suffering to deposite the cheque with weak services from the bank, we don’t have nearest cheque drop box or amex branch in our state intract with them. I compaint many times to the customer care of this regard but they all are misguiding us, they don’t known how important a customer, they assured us a thing and doing diffrently, If I do payment of Rs4152/- every month divided by 45000/- by 12 months is total Rs 49824/- .The actual amount which I Paid by creditcard Rs 45000/- why should I pay extra amount after the clear communication with the bank representatives.                             I don't know if I should continue my subscription for this gold card, I always wanted an Amex Card since I started working as all my seniors had one. But the response on my various complains to the call centre has been bad. I have always been promised a call back with resolution of my problems, commitments are never fulfilled. I don't understand that 1) after address verification done by the cr. card company how can a courier company declare my add as bad address. 2) how is the card not delivered due to whatever reasons but the 1st bill is ontime delivered to me by a courier. 3) a commitment from various call centre executives are never followed up by the service recovery team. There is no one to validate and close the complain calls 4) on lodging a complain for the non receipt of my card, but bill is due, I am threatened to pay the bill or I will be charged interest on the outstanding amount. 5) if at all Amex has any customer complaint cell or it's their culture. My ref complain no is - [protected] with AMEX.

I, Tapas Kumar Biswal received your esteemed Bank’s Credit Card – xxxx-xxxxxx-61005 on 1st week of March’ 2014. At the time of introducing the same card to me, Your sales person at Big Bazar, Esplanade Branch, Kolkata told me sir, kindly take the card you will get Gift discount coupon of Rs3, 000/- of Future Group. But received various company’s gift coupons and Future group’s only Rs300/- which was expired on 31st January 2014. The Annual Charges of each and every year is Rs.750/- but when I received the said Card and prospectus then I came to know that next year this will increased to Rs.1500/-. Also I have not use the card till date but today I have received one bill of Rs. 842.70/- which is no meaning. Kindly reverse the Outstanding as I am submitting the said credit card to you to clear the initial misunderstanding by your sales person. Kindly write off the same and obliged.
