I’m Kavitha from Chengalpet, Tamilnadu. I like to bring to your attention my recent unpleasant experience with your service representative.
I bought a AO Smith Z5 water purifier in Mar 2022 and recently on 18/Nov raised a service request #16917211 as the product has issue.
Despite 24 hours resolution SLA, the engineer called only on 22nd Nov. since I was away at work I asked the engineer to come on 24th Nov and he agreed. However, after 2 days I received a cancellation message stating customer not available. I had to again call the customer care to open a fresh case #16954168 on 26/Nov and was provided Area manager contact number to fix an appointment.

I called the Area Manager for Thiruporur, Chengalpet District and expressed my concern of closing my previous ticket despite my request for rescheduling. He casually said this is a procedure for out of city service that customer should be available when engineer called. I asked shouldn’t the customer have no option to step out for an errand but expected to be available 24X7 from the date service is booked ? He said he doesn’t care but engineers will cancel if the customer is not accepting the visit when called. For the second service request #16954168 I raised, he asked me to remained him on 30/Nov for the visit on 1Dec.

Despite my reminder, as no one visited until 2/Dec, I called the area manager for which he said he came to my home on 1/Dec but I didn’t pickup my phone so he left. When I checked there was a missed call from unknown number at 1.42pm. i still couldn’t understand why an engineer would come at doorstep and give one missed call and leave without checking with the watchman outside my gate. And my CCTV footage shows no evidence of people at my door at that time so It was clear they didn’t visit my home but attempt a quick missed call to claim ‘customer not available’ scenario. My call with that Area manager was again futile and ended up with an escalation conference call with his regional manager where he again justify his act and indulged in heated arguments. At the end, i was left with an unpleasant experience exhausted my energy dealing with such an irrational person.

Therefore, I choose to write here to M/s AO Smith to know, “Does your Company Service policy say that customer have no option to pick up an appointment for out of city service request ?” can you describe the term ‘out of City’ when the sales was made in local address at Chengalpet District. if so, kindly make this mentioned while sales, so we can opt for another product which has better coverage for our area.

I am now more worried about service for my another product AO Smith Water heater that I bought around same time. With such unpleasant experience under warranty service during the 1st year of product purchase, I am left with a opinion that AO Smith is meant for City based users and their service after sales at other districts is not good.

Based on my experience in a respectful position, I can say this may not be the first time this manager show such attitude to customer. The company spend exorbitant amount promoting your Brand & Product but it will go futile unless you have your service professionals be customer friendly and flexible. I am not at least expecting such unprofessional, irresponsible act from an Area Manager.

I am writing with a hope that M/s. AO Smith being a reputed company will quickly look into this issue before you lose a prospective buyers of AO Smith products from this region of Chengalpet District.

    My complaint reference no is 16902489 raised on 15 th Nov . The technician visited and informed that some wiring needs to be replaced which they will indent . It is more than 10 days since and there is no response .

    Issue has also been escalated to their Area manager, Mr Ravi but he stopped taking the calls .
    No information on when the parts will be received or the complaint will be resolved

    Very pathetic service so far

      AO Smith - It is the worst and fraud company I have ever dealt with.

      My 3L minibot geyser purchased on 18th Oct element is faulty as checked by their technician. Now after multiple calls to customer care they are not sending any technician to replace it. If machine is in warranty then what is the problem in replacing it. I wish I hadn't purchase the product from them and rather go for Bajaj or Havells. Worst company, pathetic support. THEY CLOSED MY PREVIOUS REQUEST MARKING IT AS DUPLICATE. GHYS DON'T BUY ANY AOSMITH PROUCT IN FUTURE. If they dont fix my issue for free and with in time, I will knock the door of consumer court soon.

            - numerous call to assigned technician, no response, asked money before service, all calls recorded then talked to service supervisor ( number given by customer care) no response on call then send all information on whatsapp,
            No proper way of dealing customer, request generated multiple times but n resolution. they say its out of warranty so company doesn't provide spare for that.

            what to do with my geyser, shall i through or buy new one ?

              I have complained for geyser service 15days back but still my issue not resolved. No response yet all .They are simply asking to call area manager and area manager assigned different persons each one will calls and ask for the address. Its ridiculous. Some one came and he said that I don't have tool to open the geyser even. The other person called me after a week and he assured me he will be visiting today(22nd Oct 2022) but not yet visited finally he is not lifting the call. What should I do?

              I just want to add its been 20 days my issue not resolved. Worst service ever. I strictly give negative feedback for AO Smith and its services to my near and dear for sure. Its a strange that since 20 days my issue not resolved.
              Nobody responds . As a customer we have to call multiple times and no resolution. Do you think customer is a beggar? instead customer is king or god.

                i have purchase two geyser on dt 17..10.2022 from the anuj electronics wide invoice no-aet/22-23/250 but one person come at home for instalation but he is demanding the bribe for instalation for one geyser whenever we also purchase two geyser when we deny to given than he left the geyser and open the box if any item is missing than who will be responsible
                if you make such channel partner than your image and product image will be rapiddly down so avoid such person for instalation

                  Hi .. I had my installation of water heater 15 litres with acknowledgement number[protected] on 14/10 at pin code 141002.
                  I had water leakage when it was installed . The technician didnot resolve it and said he will come tomorrow.
                  Since then I have raised several complaints with customer care no one had turned up yet . The technician was rude and said raise whatever we want to against him . He will choose his convenience.

                    I bought the AO Smith Elegance 15litre Geyser on 24sept'2022. I received called from one concern person for Installation at morning on 25th Sept'2022. I told will call later, but after calling him several time doing whats app he didn't replied. AO Smith call centre also stated to wait and cannot further escalated they bluntly refused. I was informed it was charged installation but no transparency or information was provided about installation charges.

                    The engineer came today and charged us for un installation 250, for pipe 460 where as in market it is available under 300 and charged 400 for installation.

                    The installation done is horrible, pathetic and literally un professional. AO Smith is big cheat and unreliable company. They just believe in earning money and fooling customer. There is no response mechanism. I need refund of all charges and proper installation of geyser. I will have not option to escalate on social media.

Your engineer are pathetic and AO Smith does not believe in transparency and give surprise by charging customer without giving any prior information. Who the hell you are in India, what superior product you are providing that you charges for installation, un-installation. Any damage to my house, my family AO Smith will solely responsible.

                      Has my contract of amc getting expired.before expired I have paid my money through gpay on 5th September 2022 for amc renewal.                           I have purchased 2 water heaters but have three months ago and have not used it. When I tried to install it this week both of them would not turn on.
                          Rephrasing the complaint as I am not ale to edit it.

                          I bought 2 water heaters on June 8th 2022 and have not used it since then. When I tried to install it this week both of them would not turn on, I reached out to the IBO store from where I had purchased the water heaters, they had asked me to reach out to AO SMITH toll free number and register the complaint, I have been trying to register on the app but I am not able too and they will not take complaints on the phone.

                            Purchased AO Smith HAS-X1-015-RHS (Right Hand Side) Storage 15 Litre Horizontal Water Heater on 18 March
                            Paid additional amount of 2500 when installation was done towards 2 years Water Tank cleaning (every 6 months).

                            Called AO smith customer care today : 07 Sept to request for tank cleaning (as it was going to be 6 months).

                            Now they say it is chargeable and that amount I paid is only if some problem happens to the Geyser.
                            Absolutely FALSE information given during installation else I would not have paid the amount.

                              Our water geyser 50 ltr is not working properly after services and change of parts done by ao smith engineers (Paid Rs. 2100 for services charges and cost of part). I complained again to AO Smith Customer on 29-Aug-2022. As per email received from them for request tracking, the complaint reference number is 16561820.

                              However, despite repeated calls to their customer service over the last 7 days, they have so far not sent an engineer to rectify the complaint. Our geyser is still non-functional even though...
                              Then after regular follow-up they provided a technician number and he also stopped answering the calls. Then he said he will come in an hour and he is on the way. But for 4-5 days he kept on lying. Please take a strict action against this fraud company as they are cheating everyone by doing false commitments and taking money without any intentions of providing the service.

                                I have purchased the AO smith water purifier Z8 and also AMC contract on 16th May 2022 valid till 15th May 2024 for an amount 10750/-. After the replacement of filters and membrane suddenly the water purifier started giving insects in water. Then I Registered the complaint on 15th August 2022 and surprisingly for 13 days no response was there from the company. Then after regular follow-up they provided a technician number and he also stopped answering the calls . Then he said he will come in an hour and he is on the way. But for 4-5 days he kept on lying. Please take a strict action against this fraud company as they are cheating everyone by doing false commitments and taking money without any intentions of providing the service.

                                  Date 16 august 2022 filter change and service done for AO Smith water purifier, I asked if water knob is correct person said its fine and will not create problem
                                  After a week only its free

                                  On 16 august I paid 400rs for service charge
                                  26 August again asking 400rs service charge to change 100rs knob.

                                  I am fine to pay 100 or part charges, but again service charges within 10days not acceptable and both customer care and dealer are rude

                                    I have recently installed 3 brand new water geysers in my new home 15 days ago. When turned on, the geysers make a very loud popping noise every single time.

                                    When the hot water tap is turned on, it makes an even louder popping noise so much so that people are afraid to use the geysers.

                                    Need a resolution to this issue asap.

                                      AO Smith Water purifier Customer Support is very bad. while warranty expiry they force you to visit for free service and try to make the device malfunction and the device stopped working. Later they force you to take AMC and additional Engineer Visit charges.

                                      I have been forced to renew my AMC. I have asked them to replace only filters, it was costing INR. 5300/- and AMC charges are INR.5500/-. They will say it is comprehensive AMC, but no electrical and Plastic parts are not applicable. then you have left with only Filters. for that they charge INR. 5500/-.
                                      It's a total SCAM, once purchased this device (of around INR, 19000/-) you have no option that every year you have to spend INR.5500/-.

                                        I had called for a service professional for the change of the filters as the change filter indicator was on. I have bought the water purifier in Nov 2021 so I still have the warranty. The professional came a day later Mr. Nagaraj from Doddathoguru branch electronic city bangalore. inspite of giving the time slot. And he actually charged rs.2000 for the filters he changed. And then he was asking me to have a servicing done apart from this filter change and would charge me 5k. There is nothin more.left after the filters are changed. When I called the customer support they also told me that I need to pay for the new filters installed as it's not covered in warranty even though I have tb warranty till nov 2022. I paid the guy rs 2100+ pipe charges and then after he left and got the feedback for himself, the purifier stopped working. No water entering it and power button blinking. I had to again raise a request for another professional to come and fix it and come and waited for two more days. Meanwhile I called Mr. Nagaraj to come and help me with this as he had already changed the filters. He kept postponing for two days and then stopped answeringy calls. Finally the next professional who came Mr. Srinivasan Reddy helped me in fixing the filter and thankfully did a good job. Thank you for that . Mr. Nagaraj had cut a wire completely which led to the power button to blink and no water incoming to filter. The conclusion is that is ur service so bad. When ur taking up the responsibility of sending a professional to solve the issue, the only motivation they have is to manipulate the customers and are a fraud to extract more money. Even after paying what they ask, inspite of having warranty and still extracting extra money, still the fraud irresponsible Mr. Nagaraj spoilt the purifier and never consulted or contacted or came back to help with the repair. Waited for 4 days to get the sple.filter change to be done when proper purifier being spoilt.its terrible service
