[Resolved]  Airtel — Cancel my airtel postpaid connection

Hi sir,

I have been using airtel post paid connection till dec 2008, as i planned to move to u.S.A, i requested to cancel my connection in airtel customer care center( indira nagar, bangalore) on 11 on dec 2008, but it was not canceled and i was receiving bills and i could see that the connection is still in active state. I raised a complaint about this on 3 of feb 2009, to the customer care center, somebody named sathish from cancellation department told me that it would be canceled within 24 hrs. On 12 march 2009 i saw that it was still active, so i called up the customer care on the same day, they told me to clear the outstanding, which i was not at all using still i cleared on the same day through online payment and the call was transferred to same person satish from cancellation department, he regretted for the inconvenience and again told that he would ask the concern department to cancel it and he assured that it would be cancelled within 24 hrs. It was deactivated the next day, however i could see it active state now on 24th of march. Now i am staying in nashua u.S.A and i will not be able to use the sim card nor talk to the customer care, i kindly request you to cancel my airtel postpaid connection immediately.

Please help me out in this regards. It has been very frustrating for me to go over this.

CANCEL MY AIRTEL POSTPAID CONNECTION

I have been using airtel post paid connection till oct. 2012, as i I requested to cancel my connection in airtel customer care center( kolkata) on27 feb.2013, but it was not canceled and pripad could see that the connection is still in active state. i raised a complaint about this on, to the customer care center, Somebody named kamal from cancellation department told me that it would be canceled within 24 hrs. On 12 march 2009 i saw that it was still active, so i called up the customer care on the same day, they told me to clear the outstanding, WHICH I WAS NOT AT ALL USING still i cleared on the same day through online payment and the call was transferred to same person kamal from cancellation department, he regretted for the inconvenience and again told that he would ask the concern department to cancel it and he assured that it would be cancelled within 24 hrs. It was deactivated the next day, however I could see it active state now on 24th of march. When you call airtel at 121 for the queries related to anything, first ten minutes are taken to force the unwanted messages and offers and than when you finally ( if you lucky enough) connected to the so-called officer on duty, he/she listens to you and if this in benefit of the company AIRTEL, that you are given all the feed backs and if you have any billing problem, the ready made answer is SERVER DOWN or they since they have the option to drop your call, most often they will DROP THE CALL, and now again you have to read ABC AND SO ON.
Got a billing message of the daily usage of Rs 900, on closed phone,
I WILL CLOSE IT ANYWAY TODAY, But what about others, who don't have the option to to write them or don't have time to fight with these
BRITISH Minded peoples who only give you stress and not the service.

I have been moved to UK recently and would require to cancel my postpaid connection which I have taken with a CUG for my mom and myself.

We have visited the airtel office in Velacherry before my travel and they assured a letter from the customer is enough to initiate the cancellation process. But when I reached here and my father went to the office to cancel it they are saying its not possible. I am not sure is there any proceess certained to cancel the connection. I applied for the Postpaid connection a year back and they gave it the same day but why not the cancellation process be initiated once a request is raised?

I have been suffering a similar plight. Looks like it is a tactic employed by Airtel to not allow users to easily deactivate postpaid connections so that they may keep fleecing money from subscribers, irrespective of whether the service is getting used or not. It is really shameful to see this coming from Airtel that boasts of quality service but does so poorly in terms of professionalism!

Had requested them to deactivate my number[protected] way back in April. They simply ignored the request but kept on piling up charges for for nothing. Finally, they deactivated it for "non-payment" of dues and threatening me of legal consequences. What kind of harassment is this? Is anyone listening? Is there no-one who would give a ear to such grievances and deliver justice?
[protected] is my father srinivasan's number, as he expired 2 months back, we want to get AIRTEL POSTPAID DISCONNECTED. i am going to airtel office for this process to be carried out from 2 months, airtel people are not bothered to cancel it.. if they dont do so in time. we will not be payable for the postpaid rental bill that comes every month... please disonnect. i am fed of your customer care its horrible... there is no proper coordination. dont ask me to pay bill amount anymore.. i[censored] are not cancelling.. i wil throw away the sim card... and i have shifted to a new state and bills cannot be paid anymore... thank you for your horrible facilities

Hi All,

I was using airtel postpaid connection for my office application support which my project was sponsoring, after few months i asked request to close the connection and i got confirmation message from customer care telling it is deactivated and also it was deactivated, no network coverage also. i returned the mobile and sim to office. but still they are generating bil after deactivation. after 4 or 5 months they called to alternative number asking to clear the dues which im not using at all. infact that i never used it. it was for office phone. they are threatining to take legal procedure now.
Requested several time to airtel office customer care for cancellation of my post paid mobile number as well i have given cancellation letter in Lenin street-puducherry airtel office in the month of october 2013.
but still it is not cancelled and repeated bills are getting generated and forwarded to my mail box.
