[Resolved]  Airtel — Charges for SIMcard more than MRP / delay in activation

I purchased SIM card of AIRTEL on 7-Apr-13, for personal purpose. I was charged Rs. 45 for that. Initially I didn't see the Price written in the SIM card envelop. Later on I observed that it was written Rs. 15. Ofcourse, it is very small amount, but this shows the credibility of the service provider / its dealers.

Anyways, I was promised that my card with be activated in two days. But it took more than 7 days for them to activate. Dealership gave me many reasons for the delay like: Documentation and stamping issue (so I submitted another set of documents immediately), the person who collects the form is on live due to Ugadi and Airtel has given 2 days off to them, the person who collected my form has gone to his native home. When I asked his contact number, the dealer person told me that he will not pick the call as it is after office hours and he is at his relative's place.

When I asked why did he charge me more for the SIM card then he arrogantly told me that he has employed people on payroll, he has to take care of the shop and running expense. He also asked me to buy the SIM from any other shop who sells at MRP. I thought it is futile talking to him so I didn't discuss much with him on why he charged me more.

After much argument he gave me one manager in Airtel. He was the only person who helped me a lot and activated my SIM card on 15-Apr-13 (8 days after I bought SIM card). This shows the poor level of professionalism (the manager being an exception) at the operational level. I request Airtel to take some strong steps in improving the customer experience, especially at the operational level.

Also, although the amount charged by the dealer to me was not a very big amount, but it shows the credibility and honesty of the people who are selling the SIM card. Therefo,re please look into the matter and resolve this as soon as possible.

All I would say that my initial experience with Airtel was very bad.

Airtel — price morethan MRP

I reside at khairtabad location ,hyderabad . here all shopkeeper take morethan mrp on airtel topup coupan of rs. 10and.30 .if i ask why then it is said that we have less margin so u have to pay more than MRP.i want to lodge my complaint and please look into the matter.

Airtel — dealers are taking extra money on mrp price

iam the customer of airtel. my phone number is - [protected].
dealers of the airtel recharge givers are collecting extra money on mrp price.........for example for RC-20 they are collecting 22 rupees.........

AirTel — activation charges

i am holding airtel no ([protected]) from around 3 yrs. earlier it was a prepaid connection. but about 11 months before one customer care executive called me (Sonali [protected]) from airtel office and offered for a post paid scheme keeping the same no. i have opted for the same. there was no charge for activation as that was in a offer, only i have to deposit 500 Rs as advance which will be deducted after 6 month. i paid and my post paid scheme started. . from then i am using this no and also paying every month without any delay.
but when after 11 months (after post paid activation) i called customer care to deduct the advance amount, he is telling me that, Rs. 500 is deposit amount and non- refundable.
what type of fraud is this??????
as per my plan "nonstop 295", generally the max deposit amount is rs. 300. what, i have opened a charity?? then why i have given 500 not 300. i have opted for zero rs. deposit as offered by airtel customer care executive.

now i want to deduct my advance amount from my next bill.

Airtel — Selling currency more than MRP

Dear Team,
There is a coupon (Prepaid) of Rs. 10/- which was released from Bharti Airtel. but in Bangalore, in some places like Mattikere, Yeshawantpur, the currencies are sold at the cost of 11/-. When asked to the seller, the answer was that, they are not getting sufficient currencies to sell and they have to bring these from far (near to Majestic). Hence they are charging 1/- extra for these coupons. Perticularly MBA Enterprises, Near 8th Cross, 8th Main, SBM Colony, Mattikere, Bangalore-54.
About the currency supplier:
He also told about the dealer, who supplies currecy to the sellers, wants the selller to buy which denomiation he have.(its nothing but forcing them). The sellers wont get the currency they want.
About the call center:
When i called to customer care to complain about this, Mr.Sanjay (may be the wrong name!), received my called. When i insisted to take my complaint he told that he can't take complaint and will inform the seniors. When i asked them, how can i come to know if the complaint is resolved or not?? then he insisted me to buy the currency in the same shop. If i have been charged Rs. 10/- then just think that the problem is solved. If not then its not solved.

Airtel — taking extra money.

Hi I am Krishnamurthy and I am using airtel prepaid card for more than 7 years and my number is [protected]. I am in students pack. I didnt get any signal problem till date. My friend Mr.Manuvasudevan who was a staff of yours gave me this number when you had your office in the name of Bharathi Telecommunications at Peters Road, Chennai. Your service and the signal is very good comparing to others. As my friend gave this number I am unable to throw away inspite of having some problems.

I use to send many sms to my friends. First it was unlimited but now you are charging 5paise per sms. But many times it takes as 10 paisa per sms and I have made complaint and gratefully you have returned me the money. Again yesterday (23.08.09) and today (24.08.09) even if i send a single line it takes 10 paise. Today morning (24.08.09) I had a balance of Rs.222.62. and I sent sms to 6 numbers and there was a balance of Rs.222.02 instead of Rs.222.32. After sending one sms the screeen shows it has deducted 5 paisa but when I saw the balance it has taken 10 paisa. Please see to it. Each and every time it happens. Everytime I can't be calling you and wasting my time. Even if I make calls you are taking extra money. Please see to it and in future it doesn't happen to me.

AirTel — More charges

Hi ,

I had done a airtel to airtel call (local). Charges as per my scheme should be Rs.1 / Min.
I spoke to my wife on 29/09/09 at 2.20pm for 4.59 secs. The message which i got after the call got finished is showing me Rs.6 deducted.
When i check last call duration in my mobile it shows 4:59 and log also shows the same.

I called up airtel customer care they are telling that i spoke for 5:01. Which is not correct.
I feel they are fooling the customers by adding more charges. How can thier system show 2 secs more.Where as my mobile is showing correctly. Which is NOKIA N70 mobile no one have any access to change any data. Balance reduced from 287.74 - 281.74.

My concern is i have faced similar situation of charging by airtel many times this time i have proof.

I am worried about many valuable customer who will loose money because of this kind of activitiy.

I want to bring this to your notice.Please take this as case study and do thing which will help all customers.

I am visiting airtel office from last 7 days to convert my prepaid sim (which i am using from past 4 years) to postpaid connection, the guy named nitesh kumar sitting over there is charging Rs650 instead of 500 told me by your customer care executive. when i told him that customer care executive told me its 500, he said they know nothing moreover he is giving a slip of rs 500.I want an immediate action to be taken against nitesh kumar other wise i am moving to TRAI and POLICE for my complaint.

Airtel — not providing the services and then charged for that

i have been complaining about my calls disconnecting and improper internet services for the last 2 years ( refer to your data base for the details) . kindly note that though i am not provided with the services i have opted for i am charged for it . even after contacting the nodal officer and the appellate my requests and complaints have gone waste.these are the recent requests numbers i have .Every time i call 121 , 12118 , 12134 i get the same answer and response. what surprises me is a couple of executives even told me that the technical team would visit me and solve my problem but nobody has come.

-- These are my requests and complain numbers all your executives take time ranging from 2 hrs to 48 hrs including the nodal officer and the appelate. kindly note that before it was not possible to change the service providers now because of mnp it is possible.please note that you should compensate me for the ordeal and trauma, harrasment i have incurred due to your neglegiency. the last option would be to complain in the district conumer forum. Dont give me chance to lodge the compaint

AirTel — Charge more

I am in 1paise/second tariff...if my cal is for 48 secs they charge me 50paise.if my cal is for 14paise they charge me 16paise...when I try to cal customer care...the line doesn't connect and if i see the call is disconnected witout talking to customer care executive...i am charged 50paise for 1minute. Its not once or twice its for many times.

if by luck calls connects and if i ask the executive to check why am i charged more than my tariff ...the customer care executive say that ...the APPLICATION IS NOT WORKING. please call us later.

Evrytime i cal them???Don't I have any work/...And I am charged ...evrytime I call without any resolution to my problem,....who's paying me money to cal AIRTEL Customer CARE.......Is its DAD????????????????????????????????

Airtel — Above MRP charges

All the mobile dealers hike the rate cutter and recharge card of vodafone aircel and airtel they hike the charges

and above MRP charges how a normal man can survive
they cannot accept MRP charges and increase the rate of cards

LIke this a Rs 10 top up is sold for 13 or 14

they said that company reduced the amount of giving commission to them

what our TAX department is doing with these distributors
