Airtel Digital TV — Very bad service, inefficient customer care

I am just posting all the mails that went back and forth between me and Airtel.

Hi,

Please read the mail below. I am a Airtel Digital TV customer. The
subscribed package is the Value package which costs Rs 200. I
recharged my acciunt on March 26 with Rs 300/-. Moreover I am supposed
to get back Rs 250 as I have one Airtel Postpaid and Broadband
connection. So how come my connection has been cancelled? I want my
connection back by EOD today and also I will not count the days when
the service was not there. If any action is not taken then I will take
legal action. Also I am putting this mail chain in consumer forum.

AIRTEL DIGITAL TV — very bad service and cheating in account information

airtel digital tv is the worst service i have ever seen.

my account balance is full when i see it on stb.
but after 3 months i received a call that my acc. balance is negative.

still my account balance is full when i see it on stb.

its just disgusting!
I bought Airtel Digital TV connection on 28.12.09 with 5 months New Value Pack .I m sorry to write that eversince it's installation, the performance of the reception is far from satisfactory. The signal strength becomes zero at least 7 to 8 times a dayand we have to miss important serials/sports channels for hours.The toll free no and tolled numbers displayed on the screen of TV are simply a eye wash. After a long toil the recorded voce directs to lodge complaint on 12150 but sorry to say this number has recorded message only about the balance available with validity date only.The local person, who installed this connection has also been contacted by me on [protected] but he, too, seem helpless in the matter. I am in a fix, where and to whom should I contact for the redressal of my grievance? It is needless to mention here that I am also having Tata connection since last 5 years and till date I have not experienced any problem either in their Service or reception.Can any officer of AIRTEL kindly look into the matter and help me in viewing a fault-free transmission.

my dth is not working from past 3 days, and whenever i call custmor care they always gave me a fix time and date on which the engineer will come to solve myproblem, bur today is the third day and they gave me another 3rd dat and time sayng that tommorrow our engineer will surely check your problem, i m so much cheated by airtel. my first service request 2183047 was on 12 march 2010 but no one came on that date, 2nd complaint 2188053 was on 13 march 2010, again no response. today on 13th march i call them again and they said that we will send a enigineer before 1 pm plz stay at home. but no 1 came then on 1pm, then again i called them, and they said sorry for the delay engineer will surely arrive before5 pm, now i again call them and said whats going on and the cc guy gave me another time and date 15th march 1 pm. that request is is 2192743. after five minutes they send me a sms saying your service request 2192743 has been resolved. not only this now they are not attrnding my calls. so this is the way to treat your customers. i have airtel mobile, landline and brodband also, but now im so much betrayed by airtel, will remove everything related to this compny, and if possible ill complain about this in consumer forum, they are deducting money from my dth account but im unable to use their service. how can they do this. now will never suggest to anyone this dth or anything related to this compny, waiting for tomorrow, lets see if they attend my call.

Dear Sir,

To be short, My Validity ends on[protected]. Today afternoon, At around 1, the following events happened...

-> Logged into My Airtel Digital TV account by using My username and password for the account.

- Selected "Recharge"
- Selected "Net banking" by entering Rs 1000/-
-It got redirected to my SBI bank website
-I entered my Password followed by my Transaction password and confirmed my debit card identification
-My payment got through and it was about to get redirected to Airtel website
-All of a sudden, I got an error message

Sorry ! your payment could not be processed. This could be due to any of the following reasons:
- In accurate credit card details entered
-Insufficient balance in your account
- Technical problem

I immediately checked with my bank website and was shocked to see the charge. Money was charged!!!

I called up CC, they asked to wait for 2 hours and keep the set top box on..I know, this is not the actual problem, because the amount was not credited to my Airtel account. However, I waited for 3 hour, rechecked my account in Airtel website..Charges were not reflecting.

Called up Cc. They said their systems are down and asked to call again after 3 hours.

This process repeated for 2 DAYS.. I really got fed up..spoke with more than 5 agents and 2 floor supervisors.

I am really not happy with ADTV.. the online recharge is only for our conveneince,
Now to let them know, I don't have the Airtel transaction ID, I have only got the description of the Transaction in my bank account statement..

The worst part is they are unable to understand my problem and hey are just saying we don't know anything, you might have recharged another account. I need to keep on repeating and explaining them step by step..It's really irritating.

I am really fed up with ADTV and their Customer Care.

I feel cheated by Airtel!!

I request you please find out the solution and recharge my account so I can watch TV because validity is expired and I can't see anything.

thanks sucheta i agree with u and the same problem i am facing as i'm from bhopal and i also have that digital tv and they told us in the beginning that your subscription is for 4 months so we were unaware of this problem of recharging our account but a message came that ur service is stopped because of not having sufficient amount of balance in your account and when i contact to our dealer he also said that this is a mostake done by our dealer so please understand ...and i compromise at that time but that service was withheld on 28th april 2010 and today is 7th may 2010 upto now there is no servise i'm receiving although i had recharged my account on the same day but still no services...i'm varun my customer id is [protected]...contact no-[protected]...

I had bought AIRTEL DTH Service online on 30th APR ,2010 .I had made a full year payment .
On the day i bought from your website your sales representatives told me that it will be installed in
24 hrs .Nobody came and after several followups with your customer service , got a call from your
engineer on the third day saying that he is coming to install at 10 am .I had to take leave and waited the whole day at home and he never came . Every time I checked with him he said that he is coming in 1/2 hr .
Then on 4th May he called and said that there is no AIRTEL signal at our apartement . But still I asked him to come . He came late evening and couldnot get any signal and asked me to call customer care to cancel it . So I cancelled it on 7th May and the complain number is 2617199 . It is more than a month now I am yet to get the refunds and nobody has shown up to take the equipments . The customer care is not taking any new complain and asking me to wait .I had also mailed the below emailid but havenot received any response . Most of the time the support team cannot even act as their system is either down or slow which just adds up to the frustration level .

AIRTEL DIGITAL TV — Inefficient Customer care service

Myself Dr Biplab Saha customer of Airtel DTH service having customer ID [protected].Since Friday evening(11.6.2010) I sent a repeated request for addition of ESPN top up packages 6 times through online(once), SMS (two) and speaking to Customer care executive(Three). On that day my balance was Rs.122. Till today (13.06.2010) morning, the channels have not been activated. Consequently, I am being deprived of world cup matches. I did not expect such incompetent and irresponsible people in the customer care of a reputed company like Airtel.

The quality of signal reception on Airtel Digital TV is so weak that no sooner does it start raining the set top box stops catching any signal at all. This happens even when the rains are not very heavy. On calling the Custome Care they give a kiddish response "Wait for the rains to stop and then the channels will reappear". Do the bosses at Airtel Digital TV believe in broadcast only in fine weather condition?
The traditional cable operator is much better in such a circumstance.
I stay in Mumbai and believe that such a situation is likely to continue for the entire rainy season and spoil my entire FIFA world cup watching experience.

AIRTEL DIGITAL TV — Inefficient customer care

I have two Airtel digital TV connections.
The customer care is inefficient and do not take complaints.
They talk through and finally cut the call. airtel does not have the option where a senior can be contacted. Inspite of calling many times and many executives cutting my phone finally I complained about the executives and finally the smart executive named Sameer put me to a Supervisor who never picked up ( I know he put me to a blank call).
Previous executives like rajesh cut my phone.
These guys in airtel are not bothered they just do not have an option in their website where you can give a complaint about the customer care.

They deactivate whenever they want and at the same time charge for the same.

Where are the senior airtel people not listening to customer complaints.
Even I faced similar problems not for a day or two, but nearly for 2 months...
I am bored of hearing "Sorry sir, sorry for the inconenience caused", "We will send the engineer by today..", bla...bla...bla...
The service is so irritating that as some said aboe "I am feeling that I will go to some Airtel office and just break the box infront of them"...
My TV went blank (date: May 1st 2010) with no signal. I called the Customer Care many times and still there is no sign of solving the problem. I doubt if they could atleast recognize what the problem is!!!

AIRTEL DIGITAL TV — Really Bad Service

I have requested Airtel DTH customer care people to install DISH TV (reloacation) on 15-08-10 and yet they are only lodging complaints by themselves and setting the status of complaint as resolved after some hour. They are really crap people wasting money of people. Earlier Bangalore DTH is much better in sense of service as compare to this Pune. Here they only know how to make fool out of people. Seriously AIRTEL guyz think on this seriously. I really wanna kick them hard.

AIRTEL DTH HD — NO SIGNALS AND NO RESPONSE FROM AIRTEL CUSTOMER CARE

I PURCHASED AIRTEL DTH HD ON 30.10.10 AND IT GOT INSTALLED ON 30.10.10, BUT TO MY UPPER SURPRISE IT STOPPED WORKING VERY NEXT DAY I.E ON 31.10.10, I PUT A REQUEST SEVERAL TIMES BUT OF NO USE. I ALWAYS GOT REQUEST NO IN WHICH IT WAS PROMISED TO ME THAT PROBLEM WILL BE RESOLVED IN 5-6 HOURS. BUT TILL NOW I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A SINGAL CALL FOR CONFIRMATION REGARDING MY PROBLEM. PLS PLS PLS DONT PURCHASE AIRTEL DTH ANYMORE. THIS IS AN ADVISE BCOS THEIR AFTER SALE IS VERY VERY POOR.

When i was purchase digital TV, the company has promised for 1 year free subscription on Rs. 2000 activation Voucher, We have purchased 2000 Activation Purchase, then there is a problem was in activation Voucher in your system, we were force to by one more voucher Rs. 2000,
This is share with you at the that time only 2000 rupees activation voucher was available with one year subscription, there is no activation voucher on Rs. 2000.

Query is
Monthly deduction should be around 140 Rupees per month, after 12 Months from the date of purchase.

Actually my deduction should start from Mar-2010, as per my account balance should be Rs 2250.00.

Airtel DTH — Amount Deducted from Account But Service Failure

Dear sir,

I am using airtel digital tv connection since last 2.5+ years, my customer id is [protected], on date 12.02.2011 I was sent a message for book a movie on channel 180 on 9.13PM to 54325 to book a movie show of film golmaal 3,show time 9.30 to 12.00, in reply of that, I received a message " This service is temporarily unavailable.Please try again later.We apologise for inconvience" from 54325, there after on the same date 11.14 p.m. when I was going to sleep, I received the message that " We have received your request to book the channel number 180.You will be charged Rs.10 for this channel.Your order will be processed shortly." on next day, I was contact to the customer care person they told me that, it is your fault that you were not seen the movie on time and money is cant reverse, where my arguement was to him that,I was not seen any movie on that channel no. 180 after receiving the first message mentioned above i.e. this service is temporarily unavailable...............,also there is error code no.4 was coming during show time mentioned above on channel no. 180. I have tried to the customer care since after deduction of money from my account, but I am not getting any proper answer or reversed the money back from airtel, therefor my request is to go into the matter and grant me a relief to reverse my money back with strict action against the airtel digital tv service provider because of harrasement I faced from dialing phone again and again also phone call cuted during conversation to avoid complaint, also it is to be noted here that, they also deny to register my complaint.

Airtel DTH — Very Bad Customer care service

I am facing problem from today 1 PM. (error code:SM2), actually even worse. After many calls i am not able to reach to any Customer care executive. So I can at least got a help from them. Every time once i reach to customer care voice after several hurdle of key pressing and getting disconnected from their side.

I agree. Airtel definitely needs to do something about their poor customer service. They have the guts to disconnect the line & no commitments, I've been suffering a lot.Every time end up writing a mail & then people get back after a couple of days
