Dear Sir,

I feel all those across India who are unhappy with services from "Bharti Airtel" should come together and write a letter to Department of Telecommunication and TRAI.

I had asked for cancellation of cell number is December month, they did cancellation in current month.

However, they say according to their records and they have found that the number was not disconnected in the months of November and December vide service request numbers 40448179 and 41220435 respectively as i had decided to continue with airtel services and enjoy special benefits provided to me. I never agreed for anything, whatever they claim is completely false.

Mumbai - Airtel customer care & relationship center are worst.

Let's all come together and write to concerned authorities in Delhi regarding harassment from "Bharti Airtel".

I am being harassed by airtel guys for the past 6 months and absolutely no one in airtel is ready to help despite several mails, phone calls, visits to airtel offices, etc. Bharti Airtel, which claims to having the best telephone network and customer service in India, in reality probably has the worst customer service. When you require a new connection, they wag their tails in front of you, but when you need to disconnect your connection, they harass you for months. So I thought of sharing my plight with you guys so that you can understand what Airtel is all about. Here’s a list of mails I have been writing to airtel and their useless responses:

I am now seriously fed-up with the kind of tactics airtel is using to harass customers like me. When you need a new connection, airtel guys are all so helpful, but in genuine cases of disconnection, I am being constantly harassed by your agents and so called lawyers from Patiala house court for the past four months. Guys call from numbers like [protected] and [protected] and start abusing me with very foul words, proof of which I have in call recordings with me. You must understand that I have been an airtel customer for around four years now, and the phone number in contention now was used by me for more than 3 years and I always paid more than Rs. 3000 Per month and on time.

This mail contains as proof of all the correspondence that I had with you guys. I hope somebody from airtel this time will sit down and study this mail in detail instead of just sending me an auto-generated reply mail.

As you can read below, I was given cancellation request numbers as 430248 and 430253 for my airtel connections 012043***** and 012041***** on 5th of September. I was also told that my concern regarding bill for Airtel connection 012043***** has been registered with you guys and the same will be addressed within 8 working hours. The reference number was 11359974. Obviously, nothing happened to that concern of mine.

Anyways, on the 24th of September, I paid an amount of Rs. 2300 via ICICI bank check number 16**** as full & final payment for 012041*****, and on 30th Sep, I paid an amount of Rs. 4300 via ICICI Bank check number 16****. The payment receipts I got clearly mentions “Full & Final Payment”.

I sincerely hope that someone will look into this matter this time, and stop those calls from your agents to me. Frankly speaking, if I had time on my hands, I’d have moved to consumer courts long time back, but if you are still unable to resolve that, I’d be forced to move to consumer forums this time for sure.

I applied for the disconnection of a landline number 0120-43**** in the monh of May’2008 as I was shifting homes. You guys took no concern of the request and did not disconnect the phone till late Aug. I then contacted you through e-mails and finally I think in Sep’08, the landline number was permanently closed.

The total bill on my account in the month of May’08, when I applied for disconnection, was around Rs. 4, 200. I asked you guys to deduct the Rs. 1, 000 which I had paid in advance when I initially took the connection. AS such, no one cared to do that. I still paid Rs. 4, 200 in Oct and got a full and final payment receipt from the executive which came to collect the payment.

Past few days I have started getting calls from your lawyers who claim to have filed a case against me in the Delhi patiala court. Today morning I received a call from someone claiming from Daryaganj police station and saying that a warrant has been issued against me. I am now getting sick and tired of your idiotic customer service and these tactics. I was using this landline number for more than 2 yrs and my bills were always in the range of Rs. 4000 and above. Not even one single time I defaulted on the payments. I have already made the payments which I was responsible for, and it’s in fact airtel’s responsibility to return the Rs. 1, 000 security deposit you guys took from me.

I request you to take immediate action and get this sorted out today, because I am uselessly getting harassed by your guys and if it continues to happen, i will move to the consumer courts very soon.

I was using airtel landline numbers, and there are a couple of issues I’d like to clear out:

1. I used the number, 0120-43**** for around 3 years, and never ever defaulted in payments. When I moved from my original address ******** in May’08 it took around 12 days for you guys to move the connection for me. 12 days without internet is huge for me and this also hampered my work a lot.

Unfortunately, that house did not suit me and I had to move again in the next month, July’08. This time instead of shifting the phone connection, I gave a request to cancel the number all together, and send me a full and final bill. I did this by calling to your customer support and placing a request. I remember that the outstanding bill amount at that time was around Rs. 4, 500 . But unfortunately, the connection was never stopped and the bills are still generating. I can prove that I haven’t used the number after 4th July, and am ready to pay whatever balance remains till the month of July after my initial deposit deductions and all, but I won’t pay for anything else you charge me with after June.

2. In the new home at **********, I got another connection 0120-41*****, which I got in just around 2 days in the first week of July’08, as opposed to your transfer time of 12 days. I paid for a wireless modem with this connection, while I received a router which was of no use to me. Anyways, the new house did not suit me as well, and I decided to re-shift to my original location *****. This time as well, I placed a request for cancellation of the number and asked them to send me a final bill, which again was not done.

On 28th Aug’08, I went to your airtel office to check the status on these two numbers, and they say they have no idea. They gave me a new reference number 40262856, but I have no idea what is that for.

I need you to look into this and get it all sorted out as soon as possible.

I have had enough trying to make your telephone representatives understand and no one actually does. If you do not understand as well, call me, or meet me. But I need you to finally sort this out ASAP.

[protected] as the abovesaid no.ie.[protected] was not working properlysince the begning.At the time when i was taking new connection i have dully informed AIRTEL to disconnect my connection as the number is not working properly ie.[protected] but after that the company is sending bill every month.which is highly unbussiness like and harrasing.

i want to close my internet service . i have paid all the charges of the internet sevice . so i humbly request you to please close my internet.
I m too fed up with Airtel, customer care, nodal offices are fit for nothing, they simply harass you, and definitey they will call you for payments and never hear your complaints

It all started when I shifted to new residence with in the same locality and different street and broadband connection could not be shifted to new residence bcs of no network there, so I went in for data card and was using it happily though the speed was slow

Trouble started when I got a call in end April 2009, when i got a call from Airtel office saying that they will provide the Broadband connection now with the same no and that too with 20% discount for 6 months and with in 2-3 days wiring too was done

So quiet but natural I was expecting the net connection in 2-3 days and lowered the data card to Rs 49 plan, and called up airtel people repeatedly

-on 2nd i called said will be done in a day
4th may transaction id no 19390340 said will take just one day
6th may transaction id no 19532946 said 7th being election will be done on 8th May
10th may transaction id no 77623884 promies in 2-3 das
13th may 19748356 same promises

Finally wrote to Nodal office (landline) and got a call saying that landline connection is not possible because digging was not allowed to do wiring etc, and this was told to me after all harassments.

In the meanwhile my data card unlimited plan ended on 8th May as I migrated to Rs 49 plan since I did not get net connection from landline (because of their wrong commitment) I had to use this data card for 2 days 9th and 10th May (as my unlimited connection of Rs 999 per month ended on 8th May), and they said the charge is exhorbitant Rs. 2900.00 odd and I have to pay. This simply ridiculous as the monthly unlimited itself is Rs 999 where as for 2 day usage I am asked to cough 2900 odd

Every one I spoke to in Airtel agreed that my case was genuine and I was harassed and it is Airtel's fault but there was no solution to it, and I spoke to Nodal officer (data card) they too listened and agreed to what ever I said, but pleaded helplessness, all they could say was that unless the bill is raised they cannot do anything, and I know once the bill is raised again the same old problem would crop up.

This is nothing but harassment, and for harassing a genuine customer they are charging Rs 3000 odd (approx)

I am writing this mail with respect to the discomfort I have been facing as a result o[censored]nsolicited calls I have been receiveing from Mr. Sumit(Contact Number: [protected]) who claims to be calling on behalf of Airtel.

I had been a customer of Airtel( Mobile No:[protected]) for more than two years but had to cancel my account due to falsification of my billing amount in number of instances.

To quote specific instances:

a) I was out of India in November December 2008 and had not made any outgoing calls messages from my number during the same period however Rs.518 has been billed against my account and I had to pay this extra amount in December-08

b) I had paid Rs.2200 on Dec 15 2008 for the outstanding amount( which included the above mentioned extra amount of Rs.518) and this has never been reflected in my bills later on. Also I would like to know the basis for charging Rs.100 as late payment fee in Dec-08 along with Rs.50 charged during the same time. I would also like to know the details of billing from Oct-08 till Dec-08.

c) My bill plan which used to be at Rs.99 month rental has been automatically changed to Rs.210 month in March-09 without any request from my side thus I have been charged this extra rental. Also my usage has been billed at Rs.2319 in March-09 which is far exceeding my historical usage which has been normally in a much lower range(Rs.700-800 per month). This is a clear case of falsification of bill.

As per my knowledge this is the due amount which I will be paying.

I would like bring to your notice the unsolicited calls from Mr.Sumit(claiming to be employee of airtel) which has been extremely annoying for me. He has also been calling my parents to their land line number. We are utterly disgusted with the lack of mannerism in the calls made by him and equally unhappy with the rudeness in the dealings of the concerned person. In the case of further disturbances created by the above named person through unsolicited calls I will not hesitate from taking the help of law.

Again I would request you to take note of my grievances and take appropriate action and send me the correct revised bills without which I would not be able to pay a single rupee.

I would like to inform you that this no. is an official no. which is connected to 150 countries as I am working for a Military Organization and that this no. shall never be given to any other, the payments shall be done as and where Iam on my tour at any airtel outlet.

Gaajiabaad connection is in the name of mine.Airtel staff of Gaajiaabaad is not cooperating with us.

i have some despute with ph no.46033839. i have settalled my ac of ph no. 46033839 but i did not take any letter from your side .I paid full & final payment of rs.5400/, i got cash reciept only. I did not get any letter so airtel people started threatened me. Just before two days two airtel people came to me and told me that they can issue me a letter of full&final payment if i pay some more amount that is 2500/ i gave them a chaque(NO.869248 dated 12.102009.).they told me after recieving the cheque that they will mail the letter on my email id but i did not recieved any letter of full& final payment. so i request you to issue me the letter of full &final payment as a proof of the settlement I am waiting for your mail. my airtel no. is 43051348 & second one is 43051385. i was give the request for shifting from 312 to 304 in this matter i complaint to mr. sachin yadav on 26/11/2009 at 5.00pm . he gave me a refrence number[protected] &[protected]. but he didnot entered my request into our system. today i m again request to miss mona on 3/12/2009 in this matter she also gave me ticket number is 288627 & 277348 and interaction number[protected] &[protected].
kndly attend this problem and solve this early as soon as possible.

i have an airtel iptv connection instaled on 7|11|09 on my existing broadband connection on phone no [protected]. so far its performance is good but there is one problem.there is no language option provided by certain channels like kidds and infotainment channels.the airtel has provided language option on some kids channels . i request you to provide same facility on channels like discovery history and national geographic channels'
today i received a letter from mr.sachin sarna that paper bills will be discontinued for me and only e bill service will be provided . I am amazed how can mr sarna decide for the customer without taking customer`s approval first.Also he can request the customer to switch to e bill and cannot force him to do so.to stop e bill sms to 121 is of no help as the return message says that your request cannot be processed. kindly mr sarna DO NOT switch me to e bill. I have been waiting for disconnection since last 2 months. But there is no response from AIRTEL . They are just continuously sending me bills, even when i have not been using the connection since then.

The companies like AIRTEL are really enjoying India's poor telecom regulation polices. People have no options but to suffer continuous harassment and frustration of helplessness .
The complaints like

" CHANGING THE OPTION OF RECEIVING HARD COPY BILLS TO EBILLS " and

"SENDING BILLS EVEN AFTER DISCONNECTION REQUEST"

are the most common with AIRTEL . Just search the internet and you may probably find hundred new similar complaints everyday. I wonder what the telecom regulation authorities do to stop this nonsense ?

I have migrated my plan from Mid Jan from rs. 800/- to rs. 899/- i.e. internet free and rs. 200/- calls free.

In first bill itself i found the bill is wrong. After lot of efforts nobody was able to explain the details of my bill. Time was passing away and finally i paid that bill.

In the second bill again both plans were continued and while immediate enquiring personnaly, the mistake was agreed {which was agreed by your call centre also). and the amount was calculated and paid in your lake city mall, Thane office on 18th March 2011. At the same time the letter was give to cancell the top up plan. Your officer Mr. Zainuddin Ansari and Mr. Shrikant assured me that you bill get waiver and next month you will get correct bill. But to my surprise again the same mistake is repeated. I again painfully went to your office on 1st april 2011. Mr. Shrikant told me this mistake should not have happened and said sorry for that. He said that he will tel me correct amount tomorrow on telephone. After two days on repeated request he gave me revised amount of Rs. 1096/- and the date payabdle is 18th April 2011. Again i regretfully say here that my telephone outgoing calls have stopped without any imtimation from 5.04.11 at 10.30 p.m. I am really shoked.

Bharati Airtell is a reputed company from whom these type of neglegence is not expected. Your call center people are useless Nobody knows proper billing system and nobody was able to give proper answer to my questions. I am using your service from April 2006 but this type of negligence is not at all accepted. How one can stop my telephone without my fault. In last four years i have never paid bill late. I never paid any late fee charges. It is very serious.

Yesterday i;e. on 6.04.11 at 1.30 p.m. your companys person came to my doorstep to recover the amout which is practically due on 18th April 2011. This is really embarassing.

After repeated calling to Mr. Ansari and Mr. Shrikant, they told me that your phone will start after half an hour. {10.30. a.m. on 6.04.11}. After 18 hours also the phone is still not working. Now Mr. Ansari and Mr. Shrikant are not picking up my calls.
