People are talking more about North Indian being harassed at mumbai. But has anyone ever talked about harassment of non Kannadigas at Bangalore ? Ask the people who are living there. I am going to present the series of few short stories here and inviting discussion / comments. Last post was regarding Driving license issue problem. This is in reference to Auto drivers Bangalore auto driver is world famous for their cunningness (sorry but I thought it is the best word to describe them.) once you talk to them in Non-Kannada, they will never ready to go at meter fare. always twice or more than twice to meter rate. Here is a small incidence One of my known person were going to Chennai on Thursday, was with his wife and 1 year. It was 9.15 pm. They wanted to have an auto from Koramangala, Sarjapur road, Bangalore. They have asked 3 people all said Rs 250/- (whopping 3 times than meter fare). At last we got an auto who agreed to take us to railway station for 1.5 times fare. They reached station at 10.15 pm and found electronic meter showing Rs 90 /-. The guy taken out two notes of Rs 100 each. Auto person suddenly started asking for Rs 200 /- more than double fare. He denied and auto person started quarreling. He asked for meter card or / and police. Auto driver started threatening and called other auto drivers to join. Seeing many auto driver gathering, He asked his wife to go little far from the place as daughter was just 1 year old. His wife stood 50 meter away from the place. After 5 minutes of quarrel, auto driver snatched both notes and ran away with auto. They were not able to do anything except noting number of auto i.e. KA 02 AA ****. I don't understand why people are struggling so much in Bangalore when they can live like kings in Gijarat. Gujarat is the most developed state in universe and had plenty of jobs for everyone. People here are well versed in multiple languages and have a welcoming attitude towards all Indians. Gujarat is such a paradise that even Americans and Europeans are queuing up to settle here. Hi Today morning I traveled through Auto from Hanumanthanagar to Richmond Circle. Actual Fare is 65 Rs. His Digital meter showing 85 Rs. There is Meter Tampering case. Please find the Auto Drivers Details Below.

To report complaints against auto drivers for not accepting short distance rides (or any rides), asking for more than the meter fare, not using a meter or faulty meters, intentionally taking longer routes, sexual assault or harassment, taking other passengers along the way, carrying more passengers than allowed capacity, stopping at bus stands or other similar complaints of serious nature.

I boarded an auto at Kamanahalli today at around 5 PM for Mallesh Palya. When the auto reaches Mallesh Palya, he refused to go inside from the Main Road. There was nothing I could do except standing helplessly in the middle of the road and noting down his number. I couldn't have possibly stooped to his level and engaged in some altercation with him. All this way from Mallesh Palya he was blurting Tamil music drawing attention all along the way.
Are we living in La la land? I strongly urge authorities if they have an iota of will to improve the city left in them to look into this matter urgently. The regn. number of the auto in concern in KA 02 AA.7492

I hired an auto from Anand Rao circle, Bangalore at 6:30 am
for Concorde Manhatten, Electronic city, phase-1. The auto no is KA 05 _ 3043.
The auto driver cheated me on various ways:<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
- He asked for 1.5 times of meter even though I knew this is
only applicable between 10 pm to 5 am but I agreed.
- He strated auto and not strated the meter even after
asking several times. He was saying meter is cold and once it is hot it will
strat. I digested this lie also somehow.
- In half way he asked me meter is not starting and pay 1200
rs for the destination. He was saying it is 30 kms and by meter it comes 800 rs
and 1.5 times of it would be 1200 rs. This is a false calculation. First of all
the distance is only 23 kms and by meter fare would be 300 rs and 1.5 would be
450 rs. I repetadly explained him the calculations and also told that I
travelled the same distance for 500 rs several times. But he was very rude and
arrogant and was not ready to accept the right calculations. He also refused to
show the fare card. I told him just drop me immediately (at Madiwala) he said
it would cost 800 rs and never stopped the auto. Finally he agreed for 1000 rs.
Since I wanted to reach the office and already travelled 15 hrs in bus I
somehow agreed.
- At destination I gave him 500 X 2 = 1000 rs but with some
trick he exchnaged one 500 rs note with 100 rs and asked for 500 more. In hurry
I thought it was my mistake and I paid but then realized I was cheated and
fooled by him. So totally he took 1400 rs which is 3.5 times more than the
meter reading.
- I regreat that I was fooled and cheated by him in several
ways but somehow I could not act on time.
- He also threated me that he was already in tension and do
not argue much, if I would contimue arguing he would loose hs tamper and then can
do anything.

On 11th july 2014 around 7.30pm one auto bearing regn. no.KA 50 3110 was coming opp. to me near Swathi Gardenia on Bellary Road which is actually one way.He did not allow me take left near the restaurant and started hitting my car glass. When i questioned about it, he got down from the auto and banged my doors four times shouting at me with foul language.I was so shocked by his behavior, didn't know what to do. Please do something about this as he should not repeat the same with anybody in the future.
06-Sept'14, 1600Hrs, I wanted an auto from "MORE Mega Store, Marathalli TO Munekolla (Spice Garden)", i approached 3 autos (KA02 AE1516, KA05 B3190 and KA05 AE2019), however all these drivers first asked for a lump-sum amount (100/- and 120/-) and not charging by the meter and when i questioned why the exorbitant charges, they refused to commute.
This has become a trend with all the auto drivers in this area, and Sad to see at times senior citizens been taken for a ride with exorbitant charges or refusal to commute.
I would request the concerned authority to please take action and also to bring in some order in and around this area by educating these auto drivers to be more people friendly and not to be avaricious and stop looting people.

My suggestion is completely avoid taking autos. I know it will be little difficult than said. Here are my points.
1. If bus facility is available, go for it.
2. Request your friends to drop you and also ask them for your help when they need.
3. If 1 & 2 are not possible, go for a city taxi, which is 30-40 rupees more than what you pay to autos but you will live in peace.
These rogues do sit idle chatting all over the day and when got some business they want huge money.

I took an auto from Hosakerehlli to Adugodi just few hours ago at around 9 pm with my child of 4 yrs. I saw the meter was jumping very high near maruthi circle the fare was Rs. 65 and just for a distance of 200 meters it jumped to Rs. 95. I started checking with him from then onwards stating that his auto meter was showing wrong and the km was also showing high. He was telling that it changes as there are different routes and the price is never the same. I kept quite because i was coming alone with my child. Before reaching my place i called my husband to come and receive me at my house door steps. He was waitiing there for us. As soon as we reached Adugodi at around 9.45 pm i made my child to get down and checked with the auto driver if he has the change for Rs. 500 for the meter charge of Rs. 178 ( which on the very much higher side ). He shook his head and said yes he has change for Rs. 500. Wherein, I gave him Rs. 500 he took and put in his pant pocket and took out Rs. 150 and he said he doesn't have change and suddenly when i asked him to give back Rs. 500 to get change from the nearby shop he mentioned that i paid him only Rs. 50 and he doesn't have any other money than Rs. 150 whatever he had in his hand. Even my husband the money which i had given him Rs. 500. Wherein, he claimed i have paid only Rs. 50. We had a major argument finally he took entire money Rs. 500 for the meter fare ( higher fare ) of Rs. 178. These re rogues bloody buggers etc... no words to scold these kind of idiotic drivers. He did not put the meter when the auto moved, so I asked him to put the meter and he refused to put meter asking me to pay Rs 30, When I insisted him to charge as per meter, he stopped the vehicle not even a forlong away and started abusing me very badly in bad language. He used very abusive language. I urge the concerned authority to take immediate action, unless they are punished sevelerly their rude behavior will not change. I kept calm and came back as an heated arugument would have led to
road rage. He used very rude and provocative langauge.

Rash driving of auto caused accident
Hi,
Today morning I was travelling to my office on bike when I met with an accident due to a reckless auto driver near Nehru park behind Seshadripuram police station. My bike got damaged, I was wounded. The auto wala was least bothered to what happened. When I told him to come to the nearest police station he refused and fled away. I took a picture of the number plate. That is what I could do in blink of an eye.

Today evening when I was travelling with my family near ELEMENTS Mall, near Nagawara signal, I had a very bad experience with auto driver. While moving in slow traffic, the auto overtook my car and stopped just adjacent to my front wheel bumber touching auto tire. when I objected to his overtaking from right side, he started using all vulgar language in Urdu.I was asking him not to speak bad language as everyone looking at us, he abused my wife and child, the public also scolded him for his behavior but he was not at all listening to me and hit me on my face which is now bleeding. I went to Banaswadi police station and filed a complaint against the auto driver, When I was noting down auto number he came to hit me again
need to put such rowdy auto drivers behind bars.

I was coming from silkboard to shopper stop, meter bill was 36, I had change I was giving to him he told me give me 40 rupees I said I had a changed so why I will give you he started quarrel me nd abusing me he don't know to to talk with gals. I think they are taking with his sister, mother, nd wife like this. plz I request you plz take take an action regarding this.
