Hi Mr Haider/Mr.Pathak

This is in reference to your e-mail dated March 16, 2009 and our telecon at 15:32 Hrs where in you had called me up from a landline phone i.e.,[protected].

Per your paragraph '2' "As per your telephonic conversation with the undersigned, we have pursued our record and found that the consent for the bill plan change to Airtel call at 1 plan chargeable @Rs.599/month was given on 30 November 2007 and the bill plan was changed accordingly. Hence we regret the infeasibility to reverse any charges."

I totally deny to the above statement "that a consent was given by me to change the bill plan at 1 plan chargeable @Rs.599/month on 30 November 2007".No such consent was ever given till date to change my bill plan.

Per Paragraph 3 "Reference to your complaint against our collection agency. We do understand your concern and how upsetting such a situation can be. We have always tried to ensure that our customers get the same feeling of quality service while transacting through any of our channels. We apologize for any inconvenience you have faced".

Further, on threatening calls from collection agencies to me and my family you had replied that taking action against Collection Agencies is your Internal Matter and you can't share that with me.

"Do Confirm understanding on the above"

The kind of irresponsibility and attitude you people have shown in replying to my queries was never expected and not at all acceptable.

It has been my bad luck that I had taken up the matter with you people keeping the faith that you might me the right approach but you proved me wrong.

It is disappointing to inform you that NO SATISFACTORY REPLY was given by you people and instead of resolving the matter you had always tried to get rid circumvent the facts and are encouraging me to take the matter to Higher Authorities

> 1.First to remind you that this letter is not all about ‘bill Plan change issue” as referred by you in your e-mail dated 22nd January 2009. If you had gone through the entire details of the attached document (referred as Compliant Letter) in the e-mail addressed to you dated 20th January 2009, then you could have noted that there are other major concerns which I had highlighted and raised in the complaint letter which I guess either you had missed on or had ignored them and had constrained yourself posing my complaint as a simple‘bill Plan change issue”.
> 2.I do agree that the hitch started with the “bill plan change issue” but there are other connected issues which I had requested you to consider upon and reply to them with an appropriate action.
> 3.I completely disagree with your statement made in paragraph 2 of your e-mail in which it is stated by you that“since you had not interacted with customer care, I request you to kindly call 121 or SMS your complaint details to 121 or email at [protected]@airtelindia.com”. If you had gone through paragraph 4 and 9 of my complaint letter which itself clearly states that numerous calls were made to the customer care however no fruitful step were taken by customer care executive to resolve the issue
>
> The extract of Paragraph 4 and 9 of the complaint letter are as follows for your ready reference
>
> “Paragraph 4 of the complaint letter “Since then I made up numerous calls to customer care executive and no fruitful step was taken to resolve the matter to my level of satisfaction and each time call was ended with an assurance and thank you stating that the “That matter will be resolved and they will get back to me with in 24 hrs or 48 hrs of the call”. Further, without resolving the matter services (both incoming and out going) to the above stated number were barred by the Airtel. I got in touch with customer care executive numerous time and each time, as stated earlier it was assured that they will get back to me with in 24 hours of the call made /complaint registered and will resolve the issue but no heed was given to the calls made/complaints registered by me to either resolve the issue or activate and re-in-state the services on the above stated number (i.e., [protected]). Even I requested the customer care executive to send in some representative who is aware about the entire issue with whom I can discuss the matter same could the same could be resolved without further delay”.
>
> “Paragraph No. 9 of the complaint letter “As I was using the number and it was my priority to get the services resumed on it, I again pulled my socks and spoke to a customer care executive. however this time a new reply was ready for me that the number is “Out of Service” and they don’t have the any details/ access to the number, however, the entire issue will be forwarded to their Manager and as usual the conversation came to an end with an so called assurance that “will revert back with in 24 Hrs” and “Thank you”
>
> 4.Further, to my understanding if matter is not resolved at “customer care level” then one may approach Nodal and Appellate desk for resolving the issue and for your kind observation it is only when the matter was not resolved by the customer care executive and legal representative of Airtel and had approached you
> Secondly, after receiving legal notices, false promises by the legal representative and threatening calls you expect me to go back and discuss the same with customer care executive.
> It is really surprising to know that instead of looking into the matter on you own you are directing me back to customer care.
>
> 5.It is requested to access account for numbers [protected] as alloted to Sanjeev Bhatia and [protected]( Satish Singh) from where calls/request were made to customer care for resolving the issue as requested in attached document in email dated 20th January 2009, In case you are not unable to get the call logs then kindly let me know the source from where I can get the call logs for the complaints made to the customer care so that the same can be provided to you.
>
> 6.It is once again requested to carefully read through my complaint letter once again and look into the matter at earliest and keeping the value of mine’s and yours time in mind provide me with an satisfactory explanation to my concerns and ill-treatment given by Airtel to me.

BHARATI AIRTEL — Wrong billing and threatening

Firstly Airtel company executive bugged my wife to switch her pre-paid number [protected] to post-paid. She was told that under Future plan Rs.299 to be paid per month and 700mins of calls are free. The representative took the filled in form and the money for post-paid SIM and did not give the SIM at all. The billing started with no SIM being with us. After many mails and calls and paying another Rs.50 SIM was given.
After a month, we didnot receive any bill. On the last date of payment, received a SMS saying that day is last day and need to pay Rs.650 (approx). We checked the total call duration and found that it was less than 700min.
We mailed a complaint to the company and as usual no good response. However we paid Rs.299, as was agreed earlier. This happened repeated next month as well. And still no response from Airtel. So decided not to use Airtel anymore. Meanwhile Airtel disconnected the connection and asking us to pay around Rs.1500.
After this they started sending threatening SMS to my wife's sister, who is nowhere connected to this episode.

I checked with many of my friends and everyone had some story to say regarding post-paid billing by Airtel (and guess other operators too).

So, request all to be very careful and not given to the company reps.
