[Resolved]  Godrej Refrigerator — Cooling Problem

I bought my Godrej refreigrator Eon 240 litres around 2 years back. Everything went well for 2 years. Now it started giving me the cooling problem.

I reported the complaint at Godrej Service center in Bangalore on 17th April viz complaint no. [protected]. Service Engineer came to my house and after lots of troubleshooting and 2 hours of diaognising, he came to conclusion that compressor is faulty. He told me that compressor is under warranty and you need to pay for change in Gas and service charge for which net amount apid by you will be around 1300. Service Engineer told me that Compressor does the cooling for 2 mins and stays switched off for 1 mins which is not the normal behaviour. Hence please go ahead with chnaging of the compressor. I said go ahead and repair the refrigerator. There was no response from Godrej and after 3 days I recieved a message that your problem is resolved and complaint is closed.

I raised another complaint to Godrej Service center for not doing cooling by refrigerator on 22nd April with complaint no. [protected]. After calling them several times and persuading them, they came to my house to change the compressor. Compressor was changed on 25th April which took 4 hours with gas filling and everything. Service Engineer demaded Rs.1250 which I paid him. He told that now ice will be made in refrigerator and temprature can go below 0. To my surprise next day I was unable to see any ice in my refrigarator. I called the service Engineer on 26th April and did not got any response from him. Even they went ahead and closed my complaint.

I raised third complaint for my same problem on 25th of April with complaint no. [protected]. Service provider people at HAL didn't bothered to pick up my call even after 100's of trial onto number which I had as [protected] and another mobile number as [protected]. I called them on saturday 28th April aroun 20 times and they informed me that we are busy in meeting and would be sending person in evening. Even in evening they did not responded to my call. After several attempts they told me that executive would be visiting me on Sunday morning. On sunday they did not even attended my call. After so many attempts they said that we'll come on 7th of May. Even 7th May they did not turned out. I called them back on 8th May and did not got any response. On 9th May they said that we'll come but never turned out till evening. On 10th May they came to my house and asked to empty the refrigerator and said that problem is with the freezer. Then he rechecked and after 3 hrs of diagnosis, he came to conclusion that the NEW COMPRESSOR which they replaced is faulty one. I am really fed of these Godrej Service Center people.

Then again they said that we are going to come tomorrow with the new compressor and replace it. I asked then to collect my refrigerator and rectify the problem in it and deliver it back to me. It is none of by business how do you guys fix it.

Now they have to come to my house to collect the refrigerator and I hope they turn out tomorrow. My vegetables and fruits worth Rs.1000 are spoiled due to refrigerator. Even daily the milk is getting spoiled as its Summer in Bangalore. I am really fedup with these Service Center guys.

I would suggest everybody never buy the Godrej refrigerator as they provide the worst service in the world. I am very much disssatified with their service.

I have Purchased a refrigerator from vasanth & co, Porur on[protected]. There was no cooling and I have filed a complaint on[protected]. One engineer came and told that gas is to be filled. two days after another engineer told that even if gas is filled the problem will not be solved only the freezer is to be changed. Yesterday[protected] an engineer called from Smart Care and told that he will be coming at 5.30pm. I told him as my audit is going on i asked him to come around 6.30pm. but he abruptly refused and told me that their working hours finishes by 6.00pm and the way he spoke was arragont. still my problem has not been solved and no reply from them. I request you to kindly look into this matter and do the need ful

I have a double door 400 liter godrej fridge bought in 2006 whose freezer door was damaged during household shifting and was not closing properly. Also water was observed on the vegetables stored in Crisper.
I made a complaint to Delhi Toll free no. [protected] on 19/06/2010 vide complain no. 380629. Noone turned up so I again placed a complaint vide no. 392882 on 03/07/2010 when technician visited and examined the fridge. He informed that the freezer door had to be replaced for which he shall get me a quotation the next day. The water problem he said was due to humid weather which we refuted as not having observed in last 3 monsoons, upon which he adjusted the footscrews saying that defrost water was not draining properly due to improper slope which he claimed was not corrected. However the problem was not solved and also I did not receive any quotation. I talked to the technician who informed that the said model was out of production so spare doors were also out of production and he cannot give me a quotation. He gave me the no. of the Service Center owner Mr. Ashok Saini, [protected] who did not respond to my repeated calls. I complained again on 17/07/2010 vide complaint no. 402655 when Mr. Saini called me and informed that as the door was out of production he was unable to do anything. When i asked for a solution he did not offer any. He did not respond anything on the water in crisper problem but on 19/07/2010 I got an SMS saying my "Service Call 402655 is completed."
I talked to the customer care who finally sent a technician on 30/07/2010 who initially told that the water in crisper was due to humidity in atmosphere but on our insistence said it may probably because of faulty thermostat that may be required to be replaced. He promised to give a quotation for the replacement of door and thermostat the same day but did not turn up. Instead on 02/08/2010 I got an sms that my complaint was completed.
I called again the customer care but they do not have any solution.
Can anyone suggest how I can get redressal from Godrej for my solution.

Dear Concerned, I had purchased a refrigerator on 12/05/2009 from Kiran Electronics ( Baruipur- kol144 ) shop with Rs. 13900. The Model # is GFE 25 AC ( Col C/ Red ). After 3 months from purchased the Compressor got damaged. I had went to the Shop ( kiran Electronics ) to inform regarding the problem but they informed me that to contact with Godrej Service Centre which is absolutely unethical as if I take one goods from one shop where any problem will come definetly I will inform to the shop first and they have to do the necessary process not the customer. After a long way the shop had informed to the Customer care and they had come to my place after a long comunication ie 02/09/09. They had changed the compressor and had given a 5 yrs. warrenty for the compressor. Now after 02/09/09 on 03/08/10 again the compressor got damaged accordingly. Again same procedure... informed to the shop owner athey had informed to the service centre. On 10/08/2010 one man ( Name : Ekramul mob # [protected] ) had came to visit only to see the problem and charged Rs. 350 where the service centre had informed Rs. 250 over phone and Rs, 1100 for Gas Charging . For this confusion I did n't given the amount to the man and informed him we would pay the amout when you will come to change the compressor. For your information the man Ekramul had already mentioned on the receipt PAID RS. 350. Whatever on 16/08/10 My mother had recvd a call from the mob # [protected] and the person informed that... they will send service man to money first ( Rs. 350 + 1100 ) and will come back after for the service.

Please note my service order # 308157.

I have a big question is it a service centre or is it a frod centre that where has mentioned this kind of term ie first take money then they will do their job afetr finish their personal work.


This is my request you all that, plz do not do this kind of sevice to the customer as once they buy something they have some dream with that. I f their any problem with godds then it's bad luck. But if you people will not come to solve th problem then there has nothing to trust. Belief me I will never suggest to my freinds to buy any Godrej Product as I am really not happy for the Service. Goods can damaged that I agree but service is a protect to damaged.

Even though I have godrej products of earlier make which were good it seems nowadays the quality in their products have gone down too low.

I have Godrej Refrigerator (Model: Ultra, 200 lt.).

There was cooling problem in my fridge. The first complaint which I made to Godrej Service Centre (Toll Free No. [protected])was in the month of September / October. Since then I am struggling to resolve this problem. Following are the details of the work carried by the Godrej technicians so far.

1. In first visit of technicians from Godrej, they said that the filter of my fridge got chocked and they replaced the filter and filled the gas again.
2. Within two months again the cooling problem was observed. This time Godrej technicians told that the condenser is leaking so they have to replace the condenser. Here it is important to note that they did not do any testing to check whether the condenser is really leaking. While asking how they are sure that the condenser is leaking, they said that it is their experience. They replaced the condenser.
3. Again cooling problem observed on the next day. This time Godrej Technicians told that the relay which is installed along with compressor was not working and changed the relay.
4. Again after 2 months (i.e. on 6th March) the same problem occurred. This time the Godrej technicians told that compressor is not working. Its piston got jammed.
5. This time I asked him how you came to know compressor is not working. He removed the relay of the compressor and tried to connect the testing wire with the compressor terminal. In this process the compressor winding got short circuited and a blow sound came. Part of electrical wiring in my house also got damaged.
6. First the technician and his manager were not ready to accept that the compressor was damaged by him. After constant persuasion and telling the series of events that had occurred, they finally agreed that the compressor got damaged by their technician.
7. After long conversations with the Service Managers they sent technician to change the compressor. The compressor sent to replace with damaged compressor, was old & repaired one. There was no quality control stamp or certificate on the compressor to show that compressor was tested properly. The technician installed this compressor on my fridge. After installation he came to know that it is not building the required pressure.
8. Technician again went to service center and brought another compressor and installed. With this compressor, the fridge started working at that time.
9. About 48 hours has been passed after this repair. We are continuously observing the fridge. Now it has been observed that the ice formation on the inside wall of the freezer box is only on the front side. On the rear most portion, Ice formation is not there.

I am struggling since last 5-6 month to repair the fridge. If manufacturing company’s service centre can not rectify the problem than I don’t know who else will be able to rectify it.

meine last year 1 godrej ka refrigerator liya jiski body crack hone lag gayi aise 3rd class refrigerator banati hai aapki company. mujhe is complaint ka reply chayie. jiski complaint meine cust. care mein koi reply nahi aaya. itna 3rd class brand hai toh service bhi aisi hi hogi.ho sake toh iska solution karva dena.

This is to bring to your kind notice that i had purchased a refrigerator (185) litres from great eastern kolkata on the 12 th of june 2010.Few days back i had a cooling problem in the refrigertor lodged a complaint in the godrej service centre in chinar park kolkata, technician came to see the problem gave me an estimate of Rs2100 and told me that i hav to pay the money as it would not cover under warranty as the problem was i had tampered with the cooling coil while removing ice from the deep freezer.However my warranty card says that while using the fridge if anything goes wrong within the first year everything would be covered under warranty, but to my surprise your technician Netai Saha says that "you have tampered the refigerator so u have to bear the cost of the spare part" which is Rs.1400 and on top of that since gas has leaked you have to pay for the gas refilling charge of 700 rupees and the labour cost is waved off since it is under warranty.
I just wanted to check with you that i[censored] say that the warranty is covered for the product for the 1st year why r u charging me for the spare parts and the gas refuelling charge?
To add to my misery i had paid the entire amount to your Technician and the next day the job was supposed to be done.Again to my surprise i found the technician comes next day with something which does not match to the model of my fridge so he had to come the next day and do the repairment.
but the repaired fridge did work only for a day and i am facing the same problem again i.e it is not cooling.
Please look into this matter because i[censored] all keep on doing this you all shall be loosing customers as i have personally refferred my friend today not to buy a godrej a/c as he ll also start facing the same problem and i shall not take it either so i earnestly request you to look into this matter or i shall be moving to consumer forum

Sir,
My refrigerator stopped working suddenly and when contacted with the service center, they send a person to check it and his observation was that the COMPRESSOR has to be replaced.This visit was near about 2 months ago and he assured me with in a week it will be replaced as the refrigerator is within the warranty period.

But since i am calling them they are saying that the COMPRESSOR has not reached yet.
Even yesterday they said that, the Company has stopped to send any srevisable items.

If this is true this is a great concerence for those customer who has trusted on this great company and also to those who wants to buy the Godrej Products in future.

Please solve my problem as soon as possible.

Subject: Noise problem, compresser problem .

I have purchased an econ GFE 32 DY/DZ/2008, units R No [protected] of capacity 304 liters. I purchased this refrigerator on 20th october 2008 and request Raj kamal electronics thirumalagiri secunderabad, to delivery the same on 23rd on the day we shifted our hoose to a new precuises.
On the day the unit was delivered i was out of station, after i returned i noticed that the unit is noising much more than the old godrej of capacity 165 liters which i purchased long ago and i made a complaint and requested RajKamal Electronics to rectify or replace the unit which was transfered to the Godrej complaint cell. Raj kamal Techician confirmed that this unit is sounding abnormal and made a complaint to the service manager. After 4 days a service guy checked the unit saying that this is the normal sound of the refrigerator who was not ready give us a inspection report copy and left with out taking our signature o[censored]s and not giving us any recipt of the same and stating that our residentail area is pleasant and free from noise. The same information we passed to Raj Kamal sales Manager who was a devotee of Lord Ayyappa and dressed in that traditional asked us to wait for few days so that he can change the unit or rectify our problem. Even after somany complaints the problem is continuous.Now time has come for us to change our residence to some other calm place in hyderabad outskirts.
We fell that our problem may be rectified with in a week or two, if not we are going to keep this infront of the Raj Kamal show room asking all the pedestrians slap the unit members with their shoe, chappal untill the noise of this unit calmdown forever by paying some beggars to do this on behalf o[censored]s.

No suddenly there is cooling problem in the fridge.
The technician visited after the very first complaint lodged.
he said, the timer needs to be replaced. first we were surprised, coz we have never heard the parts getting damaged so early and that too of godrej.
WE paid him the service charges before he had repaired it.
two days later he came and replaced the timer, it was saturday.
but even after that the fridge did not start cooling. the problem continued. since monday we have been compaining abt it daily twice or thrice to the service centre and also the customer care toll free number, but in vain.
then after three days, another technician came, checked it and said, the new timer has got problem and the next day he will come and replace it.

Now we have got irritated, coz its peak time and refrigerator plays an important role days.
If Godrej can improve its services, it will be better for them, else this way they are surely going to lose the market.Please kindly solve my issue as soon as possible
