[Resolved]  Godrej Refrigerator — Cooling Problem

I bought my Godrej refreigrator Eon 240 litres around 2 years back. Everything went well for 2 years. Now it started giving me the cooling problem.

I reported the complaint at Godrej Service center in Bangalore on 17th April viz complaint no. [protected]. Service Engineer came to my house and after lots of troubleshooting and 2 hours of diaognising, he came to conclusion that compressor is faulty. He told me that compressor is under warranty and you need to pay for change in Gas and service charge for which net amount apid by you will be around 1300. Service Engineer told me that Compressor does the cooling for 2 mins and stays switched off for 1 mins which is not the normal behaviour. Hence please go ahead with chnaging of the compressor. I said go ahead and repair the refrigerator. There was no response from Godrej and after 3 days I recieved a message that your problem is resolved and complaint is closed.

I raised another complaint to Godrej Service center for not doing cooling by refrigerator on 22nd April with complaint no. [protected]. After calling them several times and persuading them, they came to my house to change the compressor. Compressor was changed on 25th April which took 4 hours with gas filling and everything. Service Engineer demaded Rs.1250 which I paid him. He told that now ice will be made in refrigerator and temprature can go below 0. To my surprise next day I was unable to see any ice in my refrigarator. I called the service Engineer on 26th April and did not got any response from him. Even they went ahead and closed my complaint.

I raised third complaint for my same problem on 25th of April with complaint no. [protected]. Service provider people at HAL didn't bothered to pick up my call even after 100's of trial onto number which I had as [protected] and another mobile number as [protected]. I called them on saturday 28th April aroun 20 times and they informed me that we are busy in meeting and would be sending person in evening. Even in evening they did not responded to my call. After several attempts they told me that executive would be visiting me on Sunday morning. On sunday they did not even attended my call. After so many attempts they said that we'll come on 7th of May. Even 7th May they did not turned out. I called them back on 8th May and did not got any response. On 9th May they said that we'll come but never turned out till evening. On 10th May they came to my house and asked to empty the refrigerator and said that problem is with the freezer. Then he rechecked and after 3 hrs of diagnosis, he came to conclusion that the NEW COMPRESSOR which they replaced is faulty one. I am really fed of these Godrej Service Center people.

Then again they said that we are going to come tomorrow with the new compressor and replace it. I asked then to collect my refrigerator and rectify the problem in it and deliver it back to me. It is none of by business how do you guys fix it.

Now they have to come to my house to collect the refrigerator and I hope they turn out tomorrow. My vegetables and fruits worth Rs.1000 are spoiled due to refrigerator. Even daily the milk is getting spoiled as its Summer in Bangalore. I am really fedup with these Service Center guys.

I would suggest everybody never buy the Godrej refrigerator as they provide the worst service in the world. I am very much disssatified with their service.

i have purchased a samsung refrigirator on 15.10.2009 from rajkamal electronics, trimulgery, secunderabad. since may 2010 it was giving cooling problem and registered complaint in may it was repaired, no again in august 2010 reoccered the same problem i have given complaint on 22.08.2010 till date it was not repaired so kindly do needful.
I have purchased a Godrej Refrigerator Model No.GDN180S2OP from Laxmi Electronics, RP Road, Sec-bad. on 14th Dec 2006. Company has given Ten years warranty for the product. Now my refrigerator is not working at all. I request you to kindly send your technician to attend this problem and resolve at the earliest.

the godrej technician filled gas 5 times then fridge started working (worked only for 5 months in winters and same problem started in march ) and wasted so many days and hours actually I feel the compressor was defective...my fridge which was only 3 yrs old with compressors warrenty of 5 yrs... they should have replaces the compressor in my case but no body is listening one should have excess time and mony to fight with the staff of godrej people...
every time the technician like a lay man changes a part and 2nd time for complaint he takes out other defect...
if they can't repair the fridge why are they charging the coustomer for??????????
for what we are paying for their faulty diagnosis...is there any body for rules...??
these people are working like lay man keep on changing the parts on customers cost they should be taken to consumer foram for this attitute...

Godrej Refrigerator — DEFECTIVE REFRIGERATOR SOLS

FOLLOWING MAIL SENT TO [protected]@godrej.com but no response is there till date.They have sold us a defective refrigerator and not replacing it is freezing things from first day and now they ar saying the thermostat is faulty and they will replace only theromostat moy point is why the hell did they dare to sell us a defective refrigerator and they are not responding at all.


Dear Godrej Team,

This is to bring to your kind attention that we have purchased one godrej refrigerator from sargam electronics on 15/10/2010 and the same was delivered to us on 16/10/2010.

Since it was insatalled it has been freezing all the products that we kept in the refrigerator then your exeuctive came for demo MR Shakeel who told us that the knobs of thermostat were not set on the right position that’s why it was happening.

Then he put them on the required levels and asked us to wait for a day to see what happens than again when the same problem arised we launched a complaint at the dealer- saragam electronics-number-460604.
On this complaint your executive came and checked the regr: and told us that the thermostat is free and will have to be replaced.

We have refused to get the same replaced as we have just bought this new product and this problem is there from the very first day which means that a defective product has been sold to us and we have requested for a new refrigerator as a replacement to which mr ashok from your call center has refused to do the needful.

I also asked him to provide me the contact details of somebody senior person working in godrej whom I can contact but he refused to provide me the same.

To my surprise the complaint has been closed today and a sms has been sent on my mobile.

Request your immediate action on the same else the same matter will be escalated to consumer court and published in prime media very shortly as by no means you have a right to sell defective products to consumers

Godrej Refrigerator — NEW REFRIGERATOR STOPPED WORKING

Hi I have taken a Goorej REFRIGERATOR form KAPILA ELECTRONICS B-1 JANAK PURI last week
we find the balancing problem , we called daily atleast 4-5 times daily to kaplia after 4th day he changed the fridge and second Day we find that KAPILA ELECTRONICS give us the second hand fridge ar used fridge u people cant believe that after 3rd day that REFRIGERATOR stop working .....we daily calling to the CUSTOMER CARE AND KAPILA ELECTRONICS they are not giving any response they only tell that yes we will send the engineer.

we purchased refrigerator on 29th june 2009 from NEXT RETAIL SHOP FEROZPUR ROAD LUDHIANA VIDE BILL NO. 041005 FOR 14500 RUPEES.After ten days it was informed to the dealer that cooling is not taking place. Technician was sent by service centre thrice but nothing satisfactory work was done.Now again techinician visited and told us gas needs to be filled and asking money as warranty period has expired.
I talked to dealer and Mr.Surinder Incharge of service center who are not at all taking any responsibility for the delay WHICH TOOK PLACE DUE TO DEALER AS WELL AS TECHNICIAN SENT BY SERVICE CENTER WHO COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM.Even if we pay money and get the gas filled the service centre is giving garantee of three months only It means after every three months we have to get the gas filled.
I request you get it replaced and provide us same trust in Godrej brand which was in us when we had purchased it.

i am shijushajahan from trivandrum. i had very bad treatment from the authoried serive centre.they are trying to cheat me . peolple working are irresponsible in their work.onces i had made complaint they repaired and sent back.but same complaint is forming
I have GODREJ PENTA COOL fridge bought on date 25 .8. 2010.

After 4 months there was a cooling problem.so i registered the complaint in godrej service centre.Still im struggling to resolve this problem.
The first tecnician told that it was a DEFROST BUTTON problem.but after two days
same problem was observed. so again second technician came even he did not touch the fridge and told that " i dont know this work and it shouid be done by senior tecnician ". After two days senior tecnician(?) came and he told that it was a problem of compressor gas, so he changed the gas. After one day observation agai the problem was observed. again i callled them and they came and told that it was a piston problem.. still it was not solved.
MY QUESTION IS WHO WILL RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS? IT WAS NEWLY BOUGHT REFRIGERATOR. EVEN THEY ARE NOT READY FOR THE REPLACEMENT, WHY? WE ARE ALL REALLY UPSET BY THESE. WE ARE NOT EXPECTED THIS FROM GODREJ COMPANY

This is really not true and serious action to be taken against this. This issue should be filed under consumer act. As it was mentioned that when a company technician was not able to solve the problem how can a outside technician solve this problem. So pity towards the company.

Reference above undersigned wishes to draw your kind attention towards following facts for your kind favour.

• That the above refrigerator GDPV5193T shell wine red was purchased by undersigned on 21/11/2010 towards dowry article to be gifted to my daughter on her marriage date 29/11/2010.
• That a no. of other articles were also purchased vide Inv. S/KN-1347 dated 21/11/2010 VIZ. Samsung LCD LA-32C350DI, Samsung Washing Machine WT-9205, Samsung WRAC AW181QAE & Timex Men’s Watch for the purpose.
• The performance of all other article was found satisfactory except the above Refrigerator which is not functioning at all since very first day it was put into service.
• Since it was a dowry article it defaced the image of my daughter at her in laws in the very first instance. It is presumed by them as if some old, junk & used article was conferred upper them by us.
• Godrej Technician visited my daughter’s residence 89 Sunder Puri, Main Market, Ghaziabad, Near Railway Station twice till date & ultimately declared that compressor was faulty & it required immediately replacement.
• I have lost my faith & interest in Godrej Permanently as the company has no effective quality control on its equipments & articles displayed in its show room.
• As such it is requested that either this refrigerator be replaced with immediate effect or else the money spent by me on this defective article be returned back to me lest, I shall be bound to seek help from Consumer Disputes Redressal forum for bestowing me justice.

Dont BUY GODREJ Products. They are now working properly.
Bought a refrigerator 6 months back and there is cooling problem.
Please Do NOT BUY.
We have taken a new refrigerator in the month of August 2010, model no GFE 25AD, regularly there is some problem in the refrigerator, lot of small complains was made that was resolver by the engineer, then again the problem started like cooling and stop working, thrice the engineer came and informed that some of the part is not working, he replaced that next day again it was not working then again he came and he did some thing again it was not working, we spoken to the engineer several times to replace the same due to lot of problems, he informed us that we will not able to do that, complain no 108170 was surprising to know that it was closed without resolving the same, again we have complained today with the complain no 109192, please ask them to replace the same, this was a very bad experience with the godrej company and this is the first and the last time with godrej and never i will suggest any one to buy any thing from godrej company.
Request you to please help in resolving the same as I was surprised that it was hardly 4 to 5 months refrigerator and lot of problems got arrise.
