[Resolved]  Godrej Refrigerator — Cooling Problem

I bought my Godrej refreigrator Eon 240 litres around 2 years back. Everything went well for 2 years. Now it started giving me the cooling problem.

I reported the complaint at Godrej Service center in Bangalore on 17th April viz complaint no. [protected]. Service Engineer came to my house and after lots of troubleshooting and 2 hours of diaognising, he came to conclusion that compressor is faulty. He told me that compressor is under warranty and you need to pay for change in Gas and service charge for which net amount apid by you will be around 1300. Service Engineer told me that Compressor does the cooling for 2 mins and stays switched off for 1 mins which is not the normal behaviour. Hence please go ahead with chnaging of the compressor. I said go ahead and repair the refrigerator. There was no response from Godrej and after 3 days I recieved a message that your problem is resolved and complaint is closed.

I raised another complaint to Godrej Service center for not doing cooling by refrigerator on 22nd April with complaint no. [protected]. After calling them several times and persuading them, they came to my house to change the compressor. Compressor was changed on 25th April which took 4 hours with gas filling and everything. Service Engineer demaded Rs.1250 which I paid him. He told that now ice will be made in refrigerator and temprature can go below 0. To my surprise next day I was unable to see any ice in my refrigarator. I called the service Engineer on 26th April and did not got any response from him. Even they went ahead and closed my complaint.

I raised third complaint for my same problem on 25th of April with complaint no. [protected]. Service provider people at HAL didn't bothered to pick up my call even after 100's of trial onto number which I had as [protected] and another mobile number as [protected]. I called them on saturday 28th April aroun 20 times and they informed me that we are busy in meeting and would be sending person in evening. Even in evening they did not responded to my call. After several attempts they told me that executive would be visiting me on Sunday morning. On sunday they did not even attended my call. After so many attempts they said that we'll come on 7th of May. Even 7th May they did not turned out. I called them back on 8th May and did not got any response. On 9th May they said that we'll come but never turned out till evening. On 10th May they came to my house and asked to empty the refrigerator and said that problem is with the freezer. Then he rechecked and after 3 hrs of diagnosis, he came to conclusion that the NEW COMPRESSOR which they replaced is faulty one. I am really fed of these Godrej Service Center people.

Then again they said that we are going to come tomorrow with the new compressor and replace it. I asked then to collect my refrigerator and rectify the problem in it and deliver it back to me. It is none of by business how do you guys fix it.

Now they have to come to my house to collect the refrigerator and I hope they turn out tomorrow. My vegetables and fruits worth Rs.1000 are spoiled due to refrigerator. Even daily the milk is getting spoiled as its Summer in Bangalore. I am really fedup with these Service Center guys.

I would suggest everybody never buy the Godrej refrigerator as they provide the worst service in the world. I am very much disssatified with their service.

Godrej — refrigrater is not working right

i have 304L refrigrater problem of cooling and main door is not closed properly the response of care center is not quit sufficint please help me as soon as possible.serial no-[protected] i lived in 112-bhatia colony panipat haryana 132103 contect no-[protected].
Pls contact us soon . We have a Godrej refrigerator. Pls give us some service on it or replace it with a new refrigerator.
Our double-door 410CC refrigerator has not been working since 6/03/09, inspite of gas filling on 7/03/09.
A complaint was lodged again on 9/03/09, the complaint no. being 111195. Techinician came and said that the compressor was to be changed and the change would be made the very next day. After repeated telephone calls to the customer care centre, technician Vikas finally came with the compressor on 14/03/09. But he said that the compressor was working fine and there was some fault with the working of the frosting/defrosting system of the refrigerator. Since then, noone has come to provide the required services and rectify the faults, insipte of repeated phone calls. This has resulted in alot of inconvenience. Please to take action on urgent basis.

Sir,
I have a Godrej Refrigerator. Since 27.2.2009 It is not functioning well. The cooling system is totally fail. My complaint was entered at call centre containing Regd.No.720570 dated 27.2.2009. One Technician attended it and did something. It runs for one day or two day smoothly then again it failed to function cooling. Since 27th February, 2009 I am making complaints continuously.
To day, when I warned to approach to Consumer form, your office gave me a fresh Complaint number containing 721557 dated 19.2.09. I am afraid that there is something wrong. I am being cheated by your Company it is my own thinking. Why did you changed my Complaint number.
In case if within 24 hours, my complaing is not removed, I shall be permitted by you to see the Consumer Forum.

Subject: Replace Defective Godrej EON 305 Litre Metalic Champion Refrigerator.

I would like to draw your kind attention to the followings for your kind and sympathetic consideration and favorable orders:-

1) I would like to state that upon my complaint to your goodself vide my email letter dt 18/03/2009, one of your representatives, Mr Sheetal visited my house on 19/03/2009 to check my refrigerator. I told him that the fridge is neither making Ice nor giving adequate cooling causing spoiling of vegetables and food items. But even before checking the fridge he started to demand service charges of Rs.350/=.I once again reiterates that the fridge had started giving trouble soon after its purchase and I had been urging the company’s agent Salesman Manoj Sahu-879 to replace the defective piece. But he did not do so and some how dragged the time of one year .I had purchased the fridge for Rs.22500/=which is not a small amount. Now this fridge has become dud for me. This was not so when Godrej had its reputed household name. Now your sellers and agents have become greedy and very lethargic providing the company a bad name. Please do not send such greedy representatives to my house who first demands money and does nothing to rectify the instruments. Such agents and representatives will definitely bring bad name to the once reputed company. I do not want to hand over the case to the consumer court or to publish stories of your company in the press and hope that defective piece will soon be replaced by your goodself.

I have now come to a conclusion that this refrigerator is having a manufacturing defect and it can never work satisfactorily and hence I can no longer keep it with me and keep facing problems every day. As such, I request your kind honour to look into the matter and either take back the product and refund the cost of the refrigerator or immediately replace it, failing which, I shall be left with no option but to file a case with the DISTRICT CONSUMER FORUM for not only refund of cost but also for the monetary compensation for unnecessary mental agony, tension and the losses that I had to suffer from the date of purchases till date.

Thanking you and looking forward for an early decision. If my request is not acceded to within 10 days from the date of receipt of this mail, the matter would be taken up with DISTRICT CONSUMER FORUM.

My complaint No. 390025 dt 05.04. I have been told that executive will be visit on 06.04 in betwwen 2 to 8 pm but till today i.e on 07.04 no body visited at my home. So please do the needful as early as possible.
Refrigerator has given somehow irritating problems and it make us believe that godrej appliances definitely of sub standard, even to those of dead allwyn brand. in the end godrej makes profits on the poor quality products, poor quality of spares, charging fee for visits of technicians and spares costs. that again with no satisfactory results. and offers very uncertain performance of the equipment/appliances.
pl write and send your comments of the godrej appliances to defence canteen services to be forewarned about this.

Buddy you are not the lone sufferer. I bought a 410L pentacool fridge in Jan 2005. First auotomatic thermostat conked of hence no cooling. Replaced and charged for by Godrej by a manual on e as they themselves said that automatic is a faliure. Right from the beginning cooling and ice formation problem has persisted till date. In between gas has been charged compressor tray has been replaced by some un original stuff and mind you that every thing has been charged for by the co. plus their visiting charges of Rs. 350/-. Last year in July they replaced the original commpressor with a repaired and under capacity compressor which I just came to know yesterday. Cheats, that's what Godrej Co. is all about. I'ts like running a 1.5 Tr. Ac. with a .75 Tr. compressor. I am thinking of lodging a criminal complaint under Crpc. sec. 420 against the Co. God help the other consumers who have bought Godrej Products. Amen!

i baught 180 lit refrigerator and within 120 days the door problem & cooling prolem complaint no-118382 was lodged on dt. 06.11.08.& dt 31.01.09 complaint no-na & dt 14.02.09 complaint no-173671 these three complaints i have made on last 3 months but still iam not received any reply from ur side .till the date it has not been done and now the refrigerator is not working.ur representative has not come to my place and he is not attn he is mobile also. the service is very bad from ur side.
kindly do the needful soon. PLS RESPONCE THIS MAIL.

in refrigerator cooling problem arise, in freezer ice not made and complaint no is 781703 technician come to home they said that gas likage and expense of Rs.1200/- to 1300/- will be expense after that he not come to home, but in my point of view compressor problem is there there is 5 year guaranti and gauranti not expired till date,

please help your service centre not give proper response till time from 2 days

My complaint is that i;m having Godrej from past may years but from some months it's not working properly.
Means, its not giving proper cooling...
So, we would like to have a engineer to check it...
I too have similar experience. I am using Godrej GF 42 model (410 Ltrs) refrigerator and suffering because of service support.

I lodged a complaint on 15th April 2009. The technician cam and on inspection informed that due to gas leakage cooling is not taking place and I have to complet amount for repairs in advance Rs.1300/-. On payment of the same on the same day, technician re-visited on follow up and filled up the gas. He informed that compressor is weak and may be required to be replaced.

After gas filling we observed, cooling is not taking place properly and problem is un-resolved. We again lodged a complaint and the technician visited and now informed that it is problem of Sensor. Also infomed that unless entire amount fro sensor replacement is made he will not replace it. Since, the problem was not dignosed properly in first instance, we insisted that the payment made in first instance be used for sensor replacement, which was refused.

We then made a call to call centre where complaint was lodged and asked for escalation matrix. Which was not given instead we were given contact number of one franchisee. On contacting there, no satisfactory answer was given and call was then abruptly disconnected.

Then on net we searched for Godrej company responcible contact. A web page asking the compaint details was found and complaint was lodged for which there is no on line complaint receipt or return communication is received.

As Refrigerator Compressor is under warranty, the free replacement is required to be done by Godrej. Also we have been informed by the Franchisee, the sensor of the perticular model is serious issue due to which company has stopped the model and not taking AMC of this model. Godrej is liable to give free replacement support for such issues causing out of manufacturing defects.

Hope, responsible person in the company goes through the communication and resolve the issue ASAP.

REFREGERATOR 260 LTR — NO CUT OFF THE REFRIGERATOR

MY REFREGERATOR IS NOT CUT OFF, IT IS RUNNING 24 HOURS AND MY ELECTRIC BILL IS GOING HIGH EVERY MONTH.

I HAVE COMPLAINT WITH YOUR JALANDHAR REPAIR CENTER, BUT THEY COULD'NT SOLVE THE PROBLEM AFTER CHANGING THE THERMOSTATE @ Rs. 270+SERVICE CHARGE 200. STILL I'M FACEING THE SAME PROBLEM.

PLS ADVICE ME TO SOLVE IT.
