[Resolved]  HDFC Bank — Over Limit charges without any notification

I have been using HDFC credit cards for nearly 2 years now. I have always paid my dues on date with full amount. Last month I used my credit card to pay vodafone bill. I was not aware that my available credit limit is almost nil. I thought i still had credit limit to be used. I didn't get any notification or alert from HDFC while paying or at anytime. Now suddenly they have charged amount of Rs.561 as "Overlimit Fee". My questions are

1) How do you let me pay the bills when my available credit limit exceeds?
2) Why didn't you give any alerts or notifications regarding overlimit during usage of card?
3) When enquired regarding the same to HDFC customer support, i am not getting correct response. They say they wont provide any such alerts to any cutomers. Is this the way you answer and treat you customer? Is this how you provide customer support?

It seems like HDFC don’t value their customers.

Dear Sir,

With reference to the above I have requested many times to settle my account but every time I have been assured by customer care representatives that my request has been forwarded to authorities concerned and I wait for positive reply.So far no reply has been received.

Once again I request you to look into the matter and waive off all charges such as late payment fees, interest, finance charges etc. so that account is cleared once for all.I have already paid a sum of Rs500/-as per the advice of your customer care representative.Basically the whole amount shown due in the statement of 11th May 09 represents late fees, finance charges, interest etc. I have not been using the credit card facility because of the late payment fees, finance charges etc. having been levied in my account without stop and without regard to be nature of charges which constitute only the penalties and no basic lending or assistance availed by me.

You are therefore requested to
1) to close my account forthwith; and
2) waive of all charges, interest etc.so as to clear the outstanding in the account.

Please do the needful urgently. I am not interested in continuing the credit card facility unless all extra charges are fully waived of by you .

HDFC Credit Card — Charg

I have HDFC credit card No.[protected]. I paid the billed amount of Rs. 275 on 25/11/09 through SBI but in th next sttemen it is shown unpaid and aditional chrgs ha been imposed inmy statement which is wrong. Please send corrected stateent urgntly.

Credit Card — Over charges

I applied sbi credit card at chandivali branch in mumbai in july, 2010 and at time of application, the service executive his name is milind. He told me, if you will use this card to fill up the fuel there is no additional charges is applicable. But when i used this card for the fuel, i got the bill with additional service charges on fuel and then i called to said executive. He said you dont need to pay this type of charges and pls call to sbi customer care helpline. I called to customer care no[protected] it was so ridiculous, i kept on hold for 21 minutes and then my call was connected to the executive kalpana. Finally spoke to sbi customer helpline, she said there is said charges is applicable. If you will not pay, we will take this amount from your FD(which i made with sbi) with interest. I told this executive cancel my card immediately and whatever the balance payment is due, i will make it tomorrow and also i will withdraw my 2 account which is with sbi. So tomorrow i will make the payment, but how this sbi person Milind committed me wrong. I called to customer helpline, they also showed their interest, how they dont want any customer has to remain with sbi. They behaved like "if you want to continue with our terms then ok, otherwise go to hell".

Seriously nobody can expect these kind of service from sbi. At the end i told about entire thing to Milind, he told "cant do anything so cancel the card".

MY COMPLAINT TO RBS CREDIT CARD ON 3RD MARCH IS THAT THEY DOES NOT WANT TO LISTEN TO MY COMPLAINT AND FORCING ME TO PAY UNNECESSARY CHARGES.

THIS IS TO INFORM YOU THAT I HAVE A RBS CREDIT CARD AND THE CREDIT LIMIT WAS RS
67000- AND FIRST WITHOUT ANY INFORMATION THEY HAVE REDUCED THE CREDIT LIMIT TO
RS 2000/- WHEN I ASKED THAT I HAVE NOT RECD ANY INFORMATION THEN THEY HAVE TOLD THAT THEY HAVE SEND AN SMS.

WHEN THEY HAVE REDUCED THE LIMIT TO RS 2000/- THEN THEY HAVE TO SEE THAT THE MY BILLS SHOULD NOT BE PASSED MORE THAN RS 2000/-,AND SHOULD REJECT THE BILL IF IT CROSSES MORE THAN RS 2000/-,,BUT THEY ARE PASSING MY ONLINE TRANSACTION ( 2-3 TRANSACTION IN A MONTH) MORE THAN RS 2000/- AND CHARGING ME WITH OVER LIMIT CHARGES.
WHEN I SPOKE TO THEM THEY ARE NOT REPLYING PROPERLY AND FORCING ME TO PAY OVER LIMIT CHARGES OTHERWISE THEY WILL INFORM TO CIBIL ETC THAT I AM A DEFAULTER.

MY QUESTION IS THAT WITH THE RBS CREDIT CARD AUTHORITIES , WHY THEY ARE PASSING MY TRANSACTION IF IT IS MORE THAN RS 2000/-(WHEN MY CREDIT LIMIT IS RS 2000/-) AND WHY THEY ARE CHARGING AND FORCING ME TO PAY OVER LIMIT CHARGES, THEY HAVE TO REJECT MY TRANSACTION IF IT CROSSES RS 2000/-.

I HAVE THIS CARD FROM PAST 6 YEARS WHEN IT WAS ABN AMRO, BUT AFTER RBS HAS COME
INTO THEY R CHARGING UNNECESSARY AND OVERLIMIT CHARGES .
