HSBC Bank — CREDIT CARDS

I was a regular usage of hsbc credit card and never delayed any payments as on date, nor do i keep any outstanding on any of my card, All payments are done before due date.In my transactions i also utilise my HSBC card on petrol stations which I was benifited with out any charges.

In my last statement i have noticed that they have charged me 2.6% extra on fuel charges with out prior information, When contacted customer service they say it has generated you should pay, After making my payments i got my card cancelled and requested to redeem my points.
After receiving the payment they inform me "once the card is closed you cannot redeem any points".

This seems to be cheating and would request to take seviour action against HSBC.

Yousuf

HSBC Credit Card — Irresponsible as Not took action against my request

Hi,

While taking the card HSBC executive have promised for lifetime free credit card around 4-5 yrs back. After first year HSBC sent the bill with annual charges. I called the customer care and they said that every year they will reverse the annual charges so whenever you get the credit card bill with annual charges all you need to call once to the HSBC customer care. I had no issues doing this past 4-5 yrs and every year my amount was reversed after calling to the HSBC customer care. But this year in July 09 bill they have not reversed the amount saying that company policy have been changed and we can not reverse the amount and you shall need to pay the annual fees.

I got agreed considering the fact that in this recession time bank need to survive and I requested to adjust credit card points against the annual fees and HSBC customer care manager has taken this request and said that this amount (700+72.10=772.10) will be reflected in the next i.e. Aug 09 bill. But is the Aug 09 bill there is no reverse of credit card annual fees against the earned points. When I called the customer care they said there were technical issues so action has been not fulfilled and it will be adjusted in Sep 09 bill.

My complaint is, if we delay to make payments after due date of bills HSBC apply the late payment charges. My amount 772 has been blocked for approx 2-3 months and HSBC shall be responsible to not adjust the points against the annual fees even after making the request. I have made the request about 15 days before the billing cycle, does HSBC has technical issues for 15 days? This doesn't convincing and HSBC shall compensate/charge for not fulfilling the request/action on time.

Attaching both Jul 09 & Aug 09 Credit card bills with this email

Dear Sir

Re : Credit Card No.[protected]

I am employed with Everest Industries Limited having office at Mumbai. In or about Feb 2006, your marketing representative visited my Thane office and gave demo for the usage features of your card. While I was inquiring about the features of your card, your marketing representative obtained my signatures on some forms and obtained some documents from me for purpose of noting my name as “interested member” for filling inquiry form. Subsequently your Bank Credit Card bearing No[protected] was posted to me at my office address.

I say that without my using your card, your Bank sent me statement for Rs.210/-.approximately. I say that I immediately called your customer care number putting forth my grievance and called upon them to cancel my card and terminate services with immediate effect. I also called upon them to sent me letter for “No claim”, to which they showed their inability and stated that same is granted only in case where there is any dispute above Rs.1000/-, however they assured me that card is cancelled and services are terminated. I say that subsequent thereof, I have not received any statement from your bank till date.

I say that from last about 15 days, I am receiving sms from your bank for payment of Rs.4570/- towards aforesaid credit card pending bills. I had never imagine of such conduct from Big Banking Corporation like yours. I say that without usage of your services, how can I be made and forced to pay charges levied by you. I put forth my grievances with your customer care at Ram Maruti Rd branch, Thane who showed their inability to locate my bills and pending dues. They were also unable to provide me any Bank statement though I was ready and willing to bear the cost for same. I say that I also spoke to Mr.66667070 of your Bank collection centre at Mumbai,[protected] who responded to me rudely as if I am bring defaulter / criminal. I say that thereafter I spoke to your Delhi Recovery Cell at Telephone No[protected]/45023968 with Mr.Basant, who was also not able to resolve to my problem or provide me statisfactory reply.

The said act of your to grab heavy & exorbitant amount from me for no fault of mine speaks of your volumes and attitudes to procure money by adhering to illegal means & making trap for the innocent customers like me.

I am therefore now constrained to put forth my grievance in writing for necessary action and resolution of my grievance. Request you please look into this matter and advise what should be my next step.
Yours truly,
Arun Shankar Kushwaha

HSBC Bank — Issue of second debit card without any request from the customer

In April 2009, HSBC sent me a Debit Card with the instructions that I should use the old PIN with the new Debit Card and destroy the old debit card. When I tried to use the card it wouldnt work with the old PIN. I went to the Branch where I have the A/c and informed them about this. This was way back around the time I received the card. Except for promises that the "matter was under investigation and they would revert to me", nothing happened. Nver did they call me up to inform me about the progress, if any, on the issue. It was always I who had to go to the Bank or keep calling the Bank. Despite having a Power Vantage account and having a dedicated Relationship Manager, not once has the Relationship Manager ever bothered to contact me or even attend to this problem. When I tried to speak to the Branch Manager I was prevented from doing so. No one at the Branch, including the Vice President, Power Vantage has resolved the problem till date.

Finally, having run out of patience, I wrote to the Nodal Officer at Chennai. The Nodal Officer's name is proudly given on the website to give the impression that she personally attends to complaints made to her. That is an illusion. In reality, she has a host of executives, officers and "senior" officers who are experts in delaying tactics to hide their inefficiency and incompetency. Try to get through to the Nodal Officer or to a senior to complain about their service and attitude and they will stonewall you with official sounding words like "vank norms prevent us", etc. So neither will they resolve your problem, they will not even provide you the email address of their superiors or the Nodal Officer. If a customer cannot write to the Nodal Officer directly then why is the Nodal Officer's name given on the website ? If a customer needs to complain about the staff at the Nodal Office to whom does he write ?

A wonderful tactic that HSBC uses to delay and frustrate the customer till he gives up is this:
You write to the Nodal Officer, you receive an automated reply informing you that you will recive a reply within 5 days. Then you will be asked for information, or given information - a bit at a time. Why ? Because when they give you part of the info or ask you for some info, and you reply, each time you reply you will receive an email from them thanking you for writing and informing you that the info will be provided to you in 5 days. So simple, yet so effective. This way they can keep delaying the customer endlessly.

It is time the Nodal Officer, the Banking Ombudsman and the RBI take note of the manner in which HSBC is pretending to adhere to RBI quality norms but is in fact cocking a snook at them.
I am also facing the same problem with HSBA Credit card, now they are calling me & telling that how we will recover our dues we now.
As i have got he credit card life time free & my paymnet was never due against any purchased.

While giving the card they told me it is an life time free card then they are charging me a annual charge, so i called up to customer care & they advice me to use the card we will waived the charges

Mr parth chakrabarty from Delhi branch called up to my wife & thretned & use abuse word with me

This is totaly a gundaraj.
sir,
i rajeev panday and my credit card no. is[protected] .earlier my credit card limit was 18000 and i am yr regular costomer after using my card my limit redues to 14000 in place of 18000. naw i will request resion behind this. It is further requested to again increase my limit to 18, 000/- and above.

thanking you..
Here by just want all of the concerned people in my vicinity (my friends and my relatives and all possible people I associate with) to be informed (rather WELL INFORMED) that NEVER CHOOSE HSBC BANK Credit Card I will never ever recommend any one to go for HSBC bank. Another reason being the ROI was not better compared to other banks
I have made full payment not settlement after they told me we wont give NOC to you because it is against bank policy. HSBC customer care is useless because that bugger unable to give correct information(Simple they are uneducated)
The slogan your The world's local bank ! Looks dull to me – I suggest to change it to The world's local bank

I am not a HSBC credit card holder but then also I am getting a SMS every month about payment & non payment. Please do the needful. My contact no. is [protected].

HSBC Credit Card — Billing

Hi,

I have HSBC credit ard valid from 05/07 TO 05/09, at the time of giving this card i was said like there won't be any annual fees for this (its a life time free card) and i used it for three years and the payments was also on time for the dues. A year back i got a call from HSBC regarding ADD on cards, to which also, they said they are life time free cards and i went for TWO cards. As i didn't receive the new card for the expired one, I used one of my ADD on card for the last time for RS 270/- for which i dropped a cheque for Rs. 300/- on time, and in 2nd week of Dec i got a call asking me to pay Rs XXX for late payment, Rs.XXX for cheque return charges, Rs 350/- each for my two ADD on cards & Rs.700/- for primery card as Annual fees.
Where as initially i was informed all these cards are life time free for which only i went for two cards or else i wouldnt have applied for them. Now iam asked to pay Rs 3090.23 which is my present due amount. When i called up to Custemor care i got a reply like my cards are not life time free & i have to pay for them annually. You can also check that i haven't paid annual fees for my primery card earlier also in last three years. Today when i went to check the cheque return issue at my bank they also debitted Rs 200 as cheque return charges. I didd't get the point why the cheque was returned. Cross verify my earlier payment records i never kept dues with the bank & please correct the bill & send me the fresh updated bill to my mail id so that i can pay & cleare the account. Also note that today on[protected] i paid Rs. 500 as minimum bill amount to the local payment executive the payment Ref No:CPDI 0134955; AA 0002700 & i was also suggested to log a complaint online.

HSBC Credit Card — Regarding the bill settlement

Hello ,

I have been using the HSBC credit card for nearly 4 years and the quality of service was unmatched. but until recently the services of HSBC bank seem to be going down hill.

I was holding the HSBC gold card with the no. [protected] which expires on August 08, That time I had total outstanding balace amout of 11000. On Augest 2008, I have paid the 10000 rupees on date 04 august 2008(Please see the attached document) and then next month when i was paying the remaining amount then it came to my notice through customer care that the above card has been closed and there is no current balance. but some another day I got call from the other executive regarding the balance amount. I told that I have already paid the 10000 rupees but he said it is not reflected to my account. But I have written alot of mails to customer care stating provide the card statement but did not recive any of the them. but after 2 months I got the statement but it was password protected and could not open the same using my card. I have written alot of mail regarding password protected and also intimated that it will cause me for late fees if any.
But nobody gave me an answer for the same. And did not get any call for balance amount too.
But today I came to know that I have been allocated with the new card which is not with me and its no is [protected]. The customer care told me that After closing of previous card they have delivered the new card without any information. And today when I have asked for the balance amount they told it is approx Rs.24000.

According to my understanding my total outstanding on my account should be Rs.1000.00
on Augest 2008. And I have paid 10000 rupees on 04 Aug 2008. But according to bank this amount was not reflected to my account. After this I have sent and wrote alot of mail to HSBC but could not get any proper response for the same. Upto 4 month I have written mail to HSBC for this issue but they have not resolved the same. And due to this now my
current outstanding is Rs.24,000 which is due to the negligence on the side of the bank and miscommunication.

I need to pay the late payment fees for such amount which was already paid by me on Aug08. I am attaching all the proofs of mail communication and amount paid through ICICI.

Please provide me with the solution. I am not willing to pay the amount of Rs,24000.

And requesting you to make Zero outstanding and to clear the amount from the CIBIL Report.

Regards,
Guddu Singh Garbyal

HSBC Credit Card — Don't OWN any Credit Card but getting pending payment calls

Dear Sir/ Mam

This is regarding fraudulent calls from so called HSBC bank guy who calls himself "Dilbag Singh".
I don't own credit card of any of the Bank/ company but from today's noon (16-Jan-2010) I'm continuously getting threatening call from HSBC Bank to pay a sum of Rs. 150,000 against card no.: "[protected]".
I am receiving these calls from the numbers "[protected]" & "[protected]". The guy who is calling tells his name "Dilbag Singh". This Guy is saying that this card is owned by an employee of Birla Soft & he has recently changed the address as of mine & Also company name of mine.
My point is that these banks change the address & name of the person also without any verification or is this the strategy of Bank to do fraud with common people.
A person who is not even aware of a credit card owned by him/ her someday gets call that a payment of Rs. 1 lakh & 50 thousand is pending against him/ her.
These Banks & these guys should be punished for doing fraud & creating psychological stress for uninvolved person(s).
I hope my issue could be resolved soon.

Regards
Manmeet Kaur
