I, Tanuj Lodha, have an Idea Mobile no.

I have received an Bill from Idea containing GPRS(Volume) Usage charges of RSs. 1468. 72 ( attached). I have not subscribed to internet nor do I use GPRS. These charges have come through fraudulent SMS etc sent by IDEA to increase its revenue. I called the customer care to complaint but they are even refusing to listen to me. There are 3G plans available for unlimited usage in lesser amount , why would I use GPRS worth RS 1468.72 without opting for internet facility.

My repeated requests to the Customer care to look into the matter are not heard.

DDG Public grievances : Sir I am want to plead to you to look into the matter , where a huge group is cheating a defenceless customer by debiting him false charges. Idea is
fraudulently putting these charges in my account to make revenue and must be doing the same to millions of helpless customers. If a customer has called
customer care and has specifically instructed that not to provide them any of these services, then how can they charge him against his wishes. I plead that
all these fraudulent charges be reversed, I be compensated for all the money I spent in phone calls and sms to customer care and the agony/ wastage of time I
have to suffer.

idea telecom services — fraud by idea telecom services

Hi,
I would like to inform you that i recieve a call from [protected] stating that this is a call from idea telecom and there is plan of Rs600 with local call rate at 49p and std @99p.I confirmed the same thing with the costumer care, at that time executive told me that it is post planned, so i asked the person at above number to send any executive .A person named Munna ([protected]-cell) came to my house regarding the same plan he took Rs600 for which he gave a reciept to me .But when plan didnot get activated in 3-4 hours i called idea customer care but they told me that there is no such plan

Idea / GPRS — Service of GPRS through Idea not even half of what offered in the subscription

I had subscribed to the GPRS service offered by Idea many a times. Earlier the speed was considerable (20 to 25 Kbps, as this is a very rural area, Sonpur- Bihar). But these days the speed comes down to almost 5 to 6 Kbps as it is offered 115 Kbps. This seems to be very ridiculous, giving almost 600+ Rupees for internet per month and having the speed like this. Evey time, I called the customer care executive, they just overlooked the problem by saying it as server problem, but never given the technical assistance. Provided that the BTS of Idea is just 0.7 Km away from my home, the internet user in Sonpur is negligible (You can evaluate from the fact that not a single cyber cafe is being present till yet), it is just 5 or 6 month old service and I use my Nokia mobile for internet connection. My mobile model is Nokia N82 about which not one can raise a single problem concerning the modem of my mobile. Even after these circumstances, if I could not get the considerable service, it will be a waste of time and money. I hope you could help me out of this problem.

IDEA Cellular Services — fraud

FRAUD-an idea exceutive called me up for conversion of my no. from prepaid to postaid, i gave them all my documents on time afer 10 days they switched on my no.after lots of complaints,after that the sim they gave me was different from the sim on which they posted my old no.now from last 17n days my no. is been off..i m facing so many problems reguarding this.i went to idea showroom for this complaint they sais you have to file a fir for the sim n have to pay 75 for new sim and also the schemes they told me at the time of selling the sim r totally differnt from those they told me.the recipt of payment they gave me of 500,n the contact no. they gave on the recipt,no one picks up that.i bought this no.on 11th of september.i talked atleast 20 to idea costumer care since i bought my no.
DOCUMENTS TO PROVE THIS FRAUD-the sim they gave me.the recipt of 500 they gave me from conversion from prepaid to postpaid.and also a conformation letter of my no.which has been activated on another sim no from idea itself.I HAVE FACED A LOSS OFF 2 LACKS SINCE THEN AS MY WORK IS OF COMMODITY MARKET.I HOPE CONSERNED AUTHORITIES WILL TAKE NECESSARY STEPS REGUSRDING MY COMPLAINT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE..I REALLY WANT TO RUIN THEM..I M FED OF BEEN RUNNING AND CALLING THEM TO SWITCH ON MY NO.

Idea — CHARGING

I M DEEPAK MAURYA.I M LIVE IN PUNJAB. BUT DUE TO EXAM. I TAKE MY IDEA SIM WITH ME TO ROHTAK. THERE THEY CHARGE 1:22 CALL @5RS (LOCAL). SO WHEN I CALL CUSTOMER CARE. THERE IS NO RESPONSE. AND THEY CHARGE FOR CALLING IN CUSTOMER CARE. I HAD ACTIVATED NET @35RS FOR A WEEK(MORNING). BEFORE ACTIVATE THIS MY BALANCE IS 197.70 RS. BUT IN THE EVENING MY BALACE IS 70 RS. HOW I DON'T NOW. THAT DAY I NOT CALL A SINGLE PERSON AND NOBODY CALL ME. SO. THIS IS FRAUD CASE.

Idea Cellular — Being charged for GPRS which i did not activate

Hi Iam Nitin Ostwal & my number is [protected]... this is second time iam writing complaint against Idea... Last month i had the same issue & even this month i faced same issue... i didnt activated GPRS but on 2/02/2010 i received a message tht thank you for activating GPRS & rs.49 was deducted from my a/c... its really me causing big time pain... iam tired of the poor service provided by Idea... I really want something to be done... every month i cant keep chasing for refunds.... iam facing this GPRS prob from past 4 to 5 months...iam really need a compensation now....

Idea Cellular — idea expensive GPRS

I am an idea mumbai costumer and is being waiting for idea's affordable internet plans.Currently internet is charged @ 2 ps/kb and which is very FUNNY compared to other cellular componies.And unlimited internet plan is for 25 Rs/day which is totally unaffordable and speed is also not that much good.I thought idea would be launching some UNLIMITED MONTHLY PACKS as of Aircel and Airtel,and i guess this will never happen in case of idea cellular.I am thinking to change my SIM card within few days ,If same charges continue.Idea's VAS are very expensive compared to voadafone ,airtel , aircel and docomo.Hope to hear from you soon.

yeah dude you are correct i think idea should reduce the charges as everybody in mumbai uses GPRS a lot...me too going to change my SIM card
True indeed . I am a idea maharashtra customer and gprs is charged at 4p/kB which is Rs40/MB &Rs30per day for unlimited which is very very expensive .IDEA is making a joke of itself. I have already changed my card to vodafone which offers Rs95 per month 5GB USAGE and very good 256kbps browsing.

I had complained in Idea headoffice(Sec-64) regarding refund my money but yet now no responce from their side.I also called him but nobody attaned the call as well in Customer care also.I want my money any how.
As per my experience it is totally Fraud company and never apply postpaid connection.

IDEA Cellular Services — Fraud been happening in Idea Cellular Services

Hi

I am a Idea cellular subscriber having mobile number [protected]. I am carrying the same number for past number of years. Recently, I have come to know a fraud been happening in Idea Cellular with the assistance of their VAS enabling companies. I know the names of peoples involved in this but the objective of this complaint is not to reveal the people but to bring out the organization to the matter of truth. The mobile operators (Idea Cellular majorly) are playing dirty to churn the customer base and are focussing in daily small number revenue from a average number of subscribers. They are having the brilliant logic that out of 10000 only 5 or 10 will complaint. Now the process they use to get faster revenue is as following. There are around 500+ VAS services with almost all the telecom operators from various VAS companies and with the assistance of VAS managers in Idea Cellular these companies get easy access to all personal details of any of their customer. From back end system manipulation these VAS companies enable different services to the number of subscribers and deduct a amount ranging from Rs 5 to 50 one time activation for services irrespective to subscriber do not asked for the services activation. In order to clear records these services are again get deactivated on the same day so that there is no record for the services left in the subscribers account. These VAS companies have share of 30 % to 35 % in this and getting daily revenue of lakhs from one circle in their zone. Idea Cellular is having more around 30 circles till now. I am using Idea Cellular services with DND activated on my number and having a handset where there is no provision of tickers and other spams. But the customer care is enforcing the fake record in their system of activation of service from my end. This is something serious to be stop and need a strong action against all the companies involved in this. Technically, they can hide the databases and can manipulate in time of audits and are challenging the system cannot take any action against them. When, I asked to log a complaint against this then the customer care executive denied to register a complaint and passed the call to some VAS manager who literally challenged me to do what I can do with any regulatory against this. He has have given the same logic that a lot of customers make daily complaints like this but no one get refunds.

I would like to request the concerned body to take action in this.
I totally agree. IDEA prepaid VAS is a FRAUD. These activate some "VAS" without your knowledge or permission & deduct money every day for this. When you then call to complain, they refuse to register a complaint claiming that their records show that you have activated that service yourself! This is daylight robbery. What can be done about this legally? Any help will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! Thanks!

Idea Cellular — Charges for customer care

IDEA has crossed the limits of Monopoly :

Idea has nopw started charging for customer care. Which is free till date of every mobile service provider. Charges are 50 Paisa/Min.

Mobile service providers are doing something with TRAI to extend the date of MNP. Thats why it has been extended since 3 years. TRAI is also not underatnsuing the ball game.

IDEA MOBILE — Frauding

Dear Sir,

I am carrying one Idea mobile no i.e. [protected]. Few days before one customer care executive called me and started describing about their new offers. I told him that I have in such a place where I can't here you properly. please call me after sometimes. After that I reached to my office and at the lunch time suddenly checked my balance and found Rs. 70/-(Rupees Sevety) has been deducted from my balance. I have called nmore than 10 times to Idea customer care service they told me after six hours it will be OK. Then I came back to my home and at night I have put a mail to there customer Service Desk. What they replied I am giving here under for your ready reference. You will find a date there. But till today I have not get back my 72/- rupees main balance. Please solve the matter. Waiting for your fastest action onthis matter.

Idea — internet scam

dear sir/madam.... the idea services of gprs are activated automatically on my mobile. And whenevr,i ask for de-activation,,they say,it'll de-activate automatically but it doesn't. I am tired of requesting them and my balance is deducted for the same everytime. Please help me.

Dear Concerned Authority,


I received a message from Idea regarding the subscription of a value added service and that Rs.10/- would be charged for the same.

But I havent subscribed to any of such services and unnecesary deductions were made.

When I called up the Idea customer care, the person said that I received a call from idea and that I have subsribed for the service through same call. But, the fact is ,as soon as I get call from Idea for the services information i've always disconnected the call.Hence,there was no question of me subcribing any service which is of no use to me.

Further,I asked that person to discontinue that service and asked her to give that deducted amount back. But she said it was not posibble to give the amount back.

Disappointed,I called the Idea complaints department and spoke with this guy, whom I narrated the entire story and asked him as well to discontinue the service immediately. (Rs 10 wre deducted for that day)

The next day again i got the message from idea that i had subscribed to the same service once agin, and that Rs 10 were deducted against it.Now this was the heights.How can i subsribe to the service if i have registered the complaint and called the customer care the previous day requesting for its discontinuation.

Again I called up the customer care and complaints department and got the same response from the customer care.

This is heights of fraudulent practices that Idea cellular is engaged into.
