I had placed an order for 12CDS of Encyclopedia Britannica & Discover, which promised Free Reebok Tracksuit & and a holiday voucher/coupon for 3days/2nights stay with veg meals for a couple for Rs.2499/- (incl. Rs.500/-) handling charges on Jan., 17th 2009. I have received the 12CDS and Reebok Tracksuit but not the holiday voucher as mentioned. Instead the Invoice mentions that to claim the free holiday voucher gift we have to log on to www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm within 60days of the invoice date but to my surprise the said site does not exist. When the remittance was already credited to India Today Book Club, why the Holiday Voucher was not send alongwith the CD & Tracksuit. In this scenario, if you are not able to log on to the site, one is sure to loose the holiday voucher. This simply seems to be an eyewash. There are already 637 complaints against this company. Has the company ever thought how this in turn going to affect the reputation of the company? It's one kind of cheating. You are requested to look into the matter on priority basis, otherwise the matter will be put forward to Consumer Forum, media coverage and definately it's going to affect the reputation. I had ordered Digital Camera over phone for Rs.7599 for qualifying for an entry. (vide OGA00004842 DATED 15.02.2010) But to my surprise, today[protected] I received a parcel containing Phillips Home Theatre, which I already have one in my house. What can I do with this? How can I get a Digital Camera? How can I return the Home Theatre which is not ordered by me? In case of order through Phone, What is the Proof for the order of customer? What is the remedy available for wrong booking by officials?

I had a very bitter experience with Indiatodaybookclub. They have looted me. I ordered for 2 tracksuit kit and they sent me in time, no issue. I again booked a tracksuit kit for which they have deducted from my credit card Rs.10995/- and no item was sent. After repeated complaint, they sent me one tracksuit kit worth Rs.3199/- i.e. Rs.[protected]/- =Rs.7796/- are refundable to me which has not yet been refunded despite repeated complaints. Further more, a gift of perl set worth Rs.2500/- was granted to me which has never been sent to me. Having faced such problems, they again requested me to book DVD player alongwith music system and assured me that I will be become in the list of best 5 customers which will entitle me atleast Rs.100000/- cash gift which may go upto Rs. 2 lacs which will be decided by draw. Besdies this I will be given 2 night's and 3 days holidays package with food and airtravel discount coupon worth Rs.7000/-. on 2/3/10 I have received DVD player but without any gift. It is total cheating with the public under the cover of gift, Indiatodayclub is looting the public, even highly educated people. Hence, I have served notice to take back your DVD player and refund my all money and excess money charged alongwith int.. Earlier cheated modus operandi is given below. When contacted on helpline, I was told to download gift vouchers from website which is nowhere available. Moreover why should be go to website, you must have supplied alongwith items.

IN THIS CONNECTION, I further submit that you deducted Rs.1398/- on 30.12.09 and again sent a pair No.8 which I did not receive and sent it back as refused. on 4.1.10 you took Rs.699, 1599, and 3199/-, reasons best known to you, I booked only one Tracksuit kit for Rs.3199/- which I have received today vide order No.OGA[protected].
2. On 11.1.2010 you again deducted from my credit Card Rs. 901/- and again on 12.1.10 Rs.3199/-, I am surprised and shocked what you have done. In total you have taken my Rs. 10995/- and out of which you have sent a tracksuit kit worth rs. 3199/- i.e. Rs.10995- Rs.3199/- = Rs.7796. Therefore, please arrange to return me immediately Rs. 7796/- either direct to my credit card a/c or to my C/a at SBI No. [protected] IFS Code No. SBIN0004049.
3. Please note that If I di"d't get my money of Rs.7796/- within reasonable time, I will sue you and all cost will be borne by you. Please treat it as notice.
4. An early action in the matter will be appreciated.

This was to be confirmed thrugh Bigcity, Bangalore for which I had to send the form generated in India Today's website. However, there has been no response from Bigcity. I have complained to Indiatoday several times through email and phone. Last time I spoke to Mr. Kunal Shaj of India Today and he promised to help. Times Book club-free gift vouchers — Free gift voucher- reg.
I have paid for a Koda 10.5 mpx Digi cam from times book club on it they have given me some numbers as free gift voouchers worth Rs. 50000 from surat diamonds. They gave me the web site as www.booksclub.suratdiamond.com. Though I am able to open the site and select items of my choice, whenever I put the given number for making payment column as gift certificate number...a message comes as the provided number is an invalid one. Hope I am not cheated. Kindly look into it and if not conveyed to surat diamond these numbers, please pass on it to them, so that I can avail the gifts. I could not get even my camera as of yet.Looking forward for an immediate solution.
