ITBC — Receipt of CDs without order

Dear sir,
This is to inform you that I have received a parcel from ITBC & paid Rs 2730/- as a cost of parcel ( Rs.2599/-) Postage charges. After opening the parcel i found a packet of 7 CDs of Agatha Chritie which was never oredered by me, actualy a personnel phoned me told that you will receive some hindu devotional cds plus reebok shoes plus 2 day & 3 night stay plus 1 air ticket.
Ist of all I have not ordered the same, & the cds i have received are not working. You are selling bogus cds worth Rs 2600/- & making fool to us. I have communicated through E mail & phone no body is giving positive response. Now I want Refund of I paid to ITBC as this is wastage of time & money behind ITBC. I am attching my e -mails mailed to ITBC which were not replied

I had registered for Rs.60 lacs sweepstake entry through envelop
Thereafter I got a phone call from ITBC offering 20 devotional CD's @Rs.2249. In return they have informed the following freebies worth Rs.14000/- would be provided alogwith the CD's :

1. Reebok Shoes (they have taken my shoe size)
2. Voucher worth Rs.7000 for air travel in India.
3. Holiday voucher for Rs.5000
4. 1 key chain
5. 1 leather purse.

I have received vide their invoice no.ORA[protected] only the CD's, whereas all other things as above have not been received.

On speaking to them they have informed to log on their website bookstoday.in/promos.htm and claim free gifts by mentioning the unique identification number.

Unfortunately after trying several times it is not being logged and shows error in the identification number.

ITBC have failed in their commitments and have failed to deliver the freebies and now are giving excuse of logging on their sites for claiming the gifts. It is misleading and people are fooled after they have made the payment.

The matter is to be taken up seriously with them and ensure they fulfil their committments or pay the money back to me alonwith penalty and fine so that such things are not repeated in future.

I have ordered 3 books, i want toknow my gift voucher, which i have won.

Thereafter I got a phone call from ITBC offering 20 devotional CD's @Rs.2249. In return they have informed the following freebies worth Rs.14000/- would be provided alogwith the CD's :

My order No. is OGA[protected], and while accepting order it has been showed that, with consignment free gifts will be delivered. I have received consignment on 24.12.08 vide Invoice No. ORA[protected] and I have released & taken delivery. But, it is sorry to say that there were no gifts.

In the invoice it is mentioned that, we have log on to www.bookstodat.in/freegifts.htm and after logging the same, there is no result. Kindly liik into the matter and see that free gifts are delivered immediately.

I too received a parcal for same amount Rs.2599/-+Rs130/= as postage, but I did not accept and returned as I had never ordered the same. It seems ITBC is cheating the people.

LIVING MEDIA INDIA Ltd. - India Today Book Club — Assured Free Gift not available

I purchased the set of 7 CDs, against Order No - OGA[protected] dt 14 Dec'08 and Invoice No - ORA[protected] .

To claim Assured Free Gift, the web site suggested on Invoice, is not available . Hence can not log in and avail the Gift .

With reference to my telephonic discussion with Mr. Jitender (customer service executive in ITBC) on 16 Dec 08 regarding non receipt of two items ordered by my uncle Mr. B. Raghunathan of Srirangam, Trichy, Tamil Nadu, I am herein giving below the two references:

India Today Books club — Non Receipt of Free Gift Voucher

Dear Sir,
I have received a SMS informing about my Free Gift Voucher No. C65515 reserved for me at www.bookstoday.in. But i am unable to access the website and claim my voucher.
Please help in solving this problem. I am finding a lot of complaints on the website regarding this scheme from India Today which is really very surprising.

India Today Book Club — Non delivery of products ordered in spite of full advance payment

Dear Friends
Like many other complainants on this forum i have made a full payment to ITBC for the purchase of a 12 DVD / CD Saaz set along with some free gifts. It is now 4 months - No sign of the DVD nor the free gifts inspite of numerous phone calls and emails.
