India Today Book Club — Stop Solicitations

Kindly stop sending SMS solicitations immediately. I have called your customer service time and again but it doesn't seem to work that way. I am disturbed at odd hours sometimes as late as midnight and sometimes receive multiple solicitations on the same day.

Unsubscribe my name from all solicitations immediately.

Dont worry, you will be made to run from pillar to post for your money. most probably you will not get your refund. I am sure of that. you can search in this forum in my name (Girish Pai) to see what hardships I have faced when I placed order to ITBC.


Even today the OTBC people call me to inform about their new schemes and promotions and I just shoo them away.

India Today Book Club — Not received product ordered as a special offer even after payment.

India today book club had sent an offer with delivery of an order i had placed (A pack of CD's) As they mentioned i sent a crossed cheque for 700 rupees + charges for a pair of shoes. They didnt reply for 3 months. When i tried to contact them over phone, they didnt respond. And after many mails they replied that they had dispatched the product. But i received an order of someone else, so i re-couried the delivery on my own expenses. Then there was no response from them at all...
I had placed the order around January of 2009.

On 3rd July, no manager was available for the whole DAy, last call i made was to Mr. Mary, who only promised the same thing some one will call you back, same farce promise which being made by your numerous staff/managers for the last one month.



In below reference I spoke to Ms Ranjana who claimed to be manager on 2nd July, and she promised she will get back to me within half an hour.


Now two days passed she has disappeared.

I have taken a subscription of your India Today Book Club - Movie Ticket Coupon.



I have serious complaints.



Based on my experiences and the information I gathered in few teleconversations with your booking call numbers, it seems to me that you have a well planned scheme to fool people and make money.


This goes how:


1. You have sold good number of memberships but do not have enough seat arrangements with the cinema halls. Every itme I called ofr ticket for the next 2-3 days, your call centre reverted with same reply "no availability for the NExt 6-7 days, tell me a date after that". I enquired WIth the team Leader/manager at call centre on actually how many seats you have per show In a cinema hall - reply was 1 seat per show or max 2 In some hall. it was clear why the problem. you do not have seats for which you sold coupons and hence the coupons hardly can be used.


2. Still I wanted to see whether you accept booking for a date 6-7 days from Booking DAte, and I tried to Book on the date your tele call handler said It WAs available. Then she asked ofr my credit card number so that she can write Down the card number and CVV number, and she will make the booking and then call me back with confirmation. What crap are you talking man??? I have Booked your coupon ONLINE, I will book my ticket online. why would I give my credit card number to be written by your tele call handler?


3. I said I do not have credit card. I only have Debit card. Your tele call handler straightway replied "Debit card not acceptable, and the customer must have a credit card" what crap again man? You will only make the rules for the world. When my debit card was acceptable for the booking of coupons why further Transaction can not be made with same debit card and you require a new instrument. I talked to the team leader / manager, who said she will revert to me on next working day...it is 3 weeks, she has not reverted.


Look forward to clear replies on above 3 points prior I move to consumer court.

They had a massive break down, sometime in July. That's why their sytem is not getting updated. Technicians have been working day in night out to fix the problem. Pl bear with them. I have been doing so for my Order no : OGA[protected] and Booking ID no.[protected] for last 9 months and 3 months respectively
