Hi,
Just to inform that i got my passport after a long time (more than 40 months).
But the thing that I want to share will be really helpful to all those who are waiting for their passport since a long time due to the irresponsible behavior of Passport offices or due to any other reason (You may understand it well).
If you not get your passport within time period alloted to issue the passport, then follow the given steps In addition to putting your complaint at this forum:
1. Immediately post a letter under RTI act 2005 to the passport office and ask the valid reason for the non issuence of your passport.
2. If you get any rubbish reason or don't get any information at all within alloted time period (The time period you can confirm from the website of RTI), then immediately do the first appeal under RTI act 2005.
3. If after first appeal, you don't get any response within alloted time period (Normally 45 days, you can confirm it from the RTI website), then do the second appeal under RTI act 2005. Now it will be all over for the passport office. They will give your passport and also the penalty will be applied on Passport office.
In my case, RTI imposed 25000 Rs. Penalty to passport office.
I got my passport after a long time because I was not aware about the RTI process. That's why I have shared this information here.
All the above process will take hardly 3-4 months. You may think that why to do all this?
The answer is :FOR THE FUTURE OF INDIA. If such kind of exercise was done earlier, then we might have living a corruption free life today. But the time has not gone. We will give a good life to our coming generation, A corruption free life.
So start today and don't hesitate to use the RTI to get your passport.
Thanks and Regards,
Vikas
