[Resolved]  seagate sata hard disk — replacement problem in warranty period

i have bought a 80 gb hard disk of this company from nehru place( name of the shop is Computer empire) in march 2006 and they told me that it has a warranty period of 4.5 years, recently it stop working properly and i contacted at the service centre of seagate ( which is in ashoka building nehru place) and they told me that it will take around 4-5 days roughly. Along with it they gave me an acknowledgment of receiving the hard disc from me and i also get a sms about the same which has a call id.After 4 days they called me up to say that there is some problem about generating some number from the hart disc and it will take some more days. Finally, after trying thier contact number a lot they picked up the phone and said that my call id has been changed but i can now collect the new hard drive which i later on found defective. My address on the new acknowledgment that i receive has also been changed by them along with the call id. Now they are saying to go through all the replacement procedure again which is very cumbersome and there is no surity that this time it wont happen, as told to me.
I have been facing lots of trouble due to their indiffrent and rude attitude and deeply hurted by the kind of pranks they are playing on me.

Seagate — Replacement problem

Hi,

This is complaint against Seagate product and its replacement. I had bought 160 GB SATA HDD two years back. The disk started giving trouble now. The computer fail to detect it during startup with exception of few times. I got a replacement of the drive from seagate centre after one month. The disk given to me in replacement is also an old, repaired disk which has the same problem i.e. computer is not detecting it. I don’t know what to do next. Again applying for replacement means wasting one month with no guarantee of getting the right disk.

my seagate hdd st3500820as baracuda 7200.11 Failed due to firmware problem.All seagate sata discs are having problem within 1 yr of purchase Esspeciall hdd made from thailand are more succeptible to disk error
bios hide and seek and formating partion evopration and all troubles which make you finaly nervous for precious dataloss.The attitude of the company should change otherwise survival is nomore near for competitive market.one throw should spread and stay for years to get the reputation in this economy weekening globe scenario.no cheting will gain momemtum to throttle the market and they spread inefficiency to customer care.

SIR I AM NOT GETTING ANY FEED BACK OR RESPONSE FROM FRONTLINE.THEY WRONGLY MENTIONED MY EMAIL ID.WHEN I REPEATEDLY SEND THE CORRECTION THER IS NO RESPONSE OR ACTIVITY TO TAKE CARE OF THE CUSTOMER REQUEST.MY HARD DISC IS STILL LYING WITH NO CARE IN THEIR SEVICE STATION.PLEASE HELP ME TO REPLACE WITH A NEW ONE AND WARRANTY STARTS AT THAT INSTANT.

Seagate — 250 GB HDD

I had given my 250 gb HDD,which is under warranty, for repair/replacement, to the service station twice but both the times ,it was still defective.due to this i've been loosing my time and work.
My 250GB HDD is not detected in BIOS set up..This is purchased on 06.08.2008.So this has a warrenty period still now .So I want to replace it.I dont know the customer care in kolkata. please inform me the address of kolkata customer care and phone no.What formilities i have to done.My E-mail ID is sourav.[protected]@gmail.com

I had a problem in my Sea gate hard disk 500GB which i bought last year . I given it for repair in your service center . They send me message saying you can come collect it . but they given replacement hard disk which is too old . i need my original hard disk back what should i do.. please reply me. how to get my hard disk back.

seagate freeagent 250GB — hard drive problem

hi i bought a seagate free agent (250 GB) USB hard drive one month back. suddenly after 1 month when i accessed my hard drive i see there is no data in the drive any more.
i dont know what to do now

Seagate — defective replaced hard disk

i had buyed an seagate 500 gb hdd sata in jan 2008. it worked fine uptil december when one day it couldnt be detected in the pc. i tried connecting it different pc's but same result. so i got replaced it from seagate. but the new hdd i got is also an defected one with bad sectors. so i wanted to replace it with healthier one. so pls do the needful.
Seagate is distributing highly defective Seagate Hard Disk through vendors in Nehru Place. I have purchased 1 Seagate disk in last 2 year then. Both the hard disk got corrupted with bad sectors in 1 months. I got one replaced from ACCEL FRONTLINE based in Ashoka Bhawan, Nehru Place. But they are in business of duping the customer. They return you the same HDD untreated or repaired minorly after 15 days. I reinstalled that disk on my PC and it got corrupted in 6 flat days. These people must be sued. I have lost so much money and time with these guys. The Seagate is selling in Indian Market are higly unreliable. Please take me new Branded Seagate 160 gb Hard disk.

poor quality of material causes problems like data lost and cant get the parts of the old hdd
My 80 gb harddisk is not working .it is of seagate company, bought it from a shop universal computer from sainik market, ranchi in 2006.so how can i replace it, and my gurantee paper is lost.
