Resolved

I am Nirupam Roy, credit card no. xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx, had received the e-statement of Manhattan credit card for the month of August 2008 and surprised to see the bill amount Rs. 2499.95 (BHARTI CELLULAR LTD KOLKATA).

I had contacted with MANHATTAN card department ([protected]@manhattan.co.in) regarding this matter. They sent me dispute declaration form and told me that send us the scanned dispute form duly filled, signed & clear copy of the front & back of the card along with this form to our e-mail id.

I don’t know the transaction date, Merchant name(knew through the e-statement of Manhattan credit card), reference number, so how will I fillup the dispute declaration form? I did not purchase anything last 2/3 months through this credit card and the credit card store in my personal file at all times. Who will bear the miscellaneous expenses (print, scan, internet & valuable times) for the unexpected harassment bill that was not my fault?

I want to know, how bank paid any bills submitted by the Merchant, without my signature on the Merchant’s bill? I requested to the bank, please send me the copy of Merchant’s bill on which basis you debited the amount from my credit card but they did not response.

Should I fillup the dispute declaration form and send clear copy of the both side of the card along with this form ?

Thanx & Regards,
Nirupam Roy

Manhattan Cards from Standard Chartered Bank — Harassment by Standard Chartered

Dear Sir, Manhattan Cards from Standard Chartered approached me for subscription of their credit card services in 2004. They were offering free subscription for lifetime. I used the card for 2 years and subsequently stopped using the card. I last used this card in sometime in Oct 06. However I did not receive any statement for this card since then. The last purchase was for approximately Rs. 1500.00. Since I did not receive any statement I missed the payment for this card. Subsequently representatives of Standard Chartered Bank contacted me for payment of the amount and I paid Rs., 2000/- sometime in September 07. However I continue to get threatening calls from the executives of the bank. I believe I have settled the principal of the amount but they want me to pay more than Rs. 8000/- towards late payment and interest on latest payment which has gone into a vicious cycle now.
My card No, [protected]. The said card has been returned clearing all the dues within the due date, durin g July 2009. Even then I am getting the monthly statement adding the monthly charges and showing balance for payment. Kindly look into this and cancel the above card. As on date I do not have any dues payable as per my records.

I am not able to understand the balance that is due on my Credit Card number XXXX XXXX XXXX 3717

I gave a call to the customer care on 9th (or 10th) August and I was told that there was a balance transfer INTO my account sometime in March-May. I DID NOT ask for any balance transfer ever. The statements that you send to the customers do not mention the details very clearly. It has sentences like "KUCH BHI ON EMI" etc. This is what creates confusion otherwise I would have anyways raised an alarm earlier.

And oh yes, I remember, my statements were not sent to me those days, saying that the office was being shifted to some other city, so the bank was unable to send the monthly statements.
When I had talked to customer care 3-4 days back, why hasn't there been any response from the bank yet!!

That must have been a plot by some of the employees of standard chartered.
I am very much glad that I read your post. I was about to open up an account with them :/

I am very much surprised by the way these kinda banks function these days. Intolerable.Incompetent.

For any working class citizen, any such problem is a mental harassment. I mean, after a long days work, this is the last thing that I would want in my life.

Subject : Standard Chartered Bank Credit Card Statements Errors Observed during last one year

    Dear Madam,
This refers to my previous E- mails on 05 Sep 08 and 07 Sep 08. I am very grateful to you for replying to my mails and sending the Credit Card monthly statements as I requested for last 13 months.

I have done complete evaluations with the support of the said statements and found several mistakes happened in different occasions by the Bank as highlighted below. My credit limit is 1500.000 O.R.. If you read the following statement carefully you will understand very well that the bank had over charged extra 90.000 O.R. in different occasions and resulted to show the over limits from month of May 08 down wards.

This is resulted to decline my Top up loan which was applied in Aug 08. Standard Chartered Bank Loan Dept need me to maintain my credit Card below 1500.000 O.R. for last six months to grant my Top up loan. If this errors are corrected by the Bank the statements 8 months Credit card usage is very clear from Feb 08 down ward up to date are very clear to satisfy the Bank loan division.

I would be very much grateful to you to correct the statements mistakes at your earliest and reply me through mail and advise the Loan dept to re process my Top up loan earliest possible.

Your early attention regards to this matter would be highly appreciated

    Yours Faithfully

      Hi,

I cancelled my standard charted Credit card around 3 years back and have no due. I called up the customer care to cancel the card at that time. They told me that they cancelled the card and assured me that there is no due pending.

After 3 years now standard charted bank is asking for around 7000 rs and threatening me to put on black list. Is any body faced similar situation and how you proceed on this

        HEllo,
I was issued Standard Chartered Manhattan Credit Card in 2006, whihc I used for 4 months and decided to close it. I called up Standard Chartered Call Center and asked the lady to close it. I requested her to let me know what formalities I have to complete on my side. She said the card will be closed and somebody will get in touch with me. I had Rs. 16, 000 outstanding. I used to get calls from StanChart every 3-4 months but nobody bothered to explain me the logic behind outstanding amount, which kept mounting as days passed by.
No personal from StanChart visited me to clear the dues.

I have never received printed statements from StanChart for last 22 months and one fine day I get a call saying I have Rs. 59, 000 due and offerred me settlement of 20, 000.

This is crazy because, inspite of telling them to close my card, they did not do it and then called me after almost 2 years to tell me the outstanding amount. They threatned me saying if I do not pay the outstanding amount, my name will go into CIBIL records and I wont get loan or credit card from any other company.

Later they offerred me settlement of Rs. 16, 000. I refused to give them the settlement and instead asked them to give me a no due letter.

I also told them that I have never received statement for last 2 years.

Every other day somebody from StanCart comes to my home and leaves a note at my door. They are using these techniques to pressurize me and defame me in the society.

Please let me know what I should do.

        1. Is there any way to correct the records in CIBIL.
        2. I feel currently CIBIL is only one-sided and banks have monopoly on it.
        3. What should be my next course of action for StanChart?

        thanks,
        Nitin Y.

          Dear Sir,

Sub: Dishonor of Cheque – Standard Chartered Bank Ltd

          Ref: Savings Account Number –[protected]

I, Shantilal Jain, am having Savings account with Standard Chartered Bank, Bangalore {INDIA} since September 2005. On 27th March 2008, I had issued 3 cheques in favor of Insurance Corporation of INDIA {LIC} towards the insurance premium payable in respect of Policies under my name. The details of the cheque are as follows,

          Cheque No. 906647 - Rs.35, 178/-

          Cheque No. 906648 - Rs.25, 783/-

          Cheque No. 906649 - Rs.471/-

I had sufficient balance in my account to ensure that the above said cheques are cleared. However, irrespective of that, Standard Chartered Bank had dishonored the cheques, without any intimation.

The bank had dishonored first two cheques (Chq no.906647 & 906648) and had cleared the last cheque for Rs.471/- (Chq no.906649).

When I got in touch with Life Insurance Corporation of INDIA {LIC} for some of my other policies, the LIC people had informed me about the dishonor of the cheque and requested me to pay the premium as soon as possible in Cash or DD.

I had to repay the premium in cash on 10th April and 15th April 2008. The reason for dishonor that LIC had received from the banking authorities was “sign not available as per our SC”. Due to this, I had to undergo lots of stress in arranging the cash and also my reputation with LIC for so many years had been washed away. The managers and employees at LIC were so much angry and pissed off on me due to this and have clearly stated that they shall not entertain any cheque from me towards the premium going forward, also the fact that it was March month, the LIC staff were already busy with overload of people paying their premium.

After completing the formalities of premium with LIC of INDIA, I got in touch with my advocate for serving a notice to the banking authorities for asking the appropriate reason for such an instance and also to claim compensation. We had served a notice to the bank on 22nd April 2008. The bank did not bother to reply for my notice over a month and on May 29th 2008, M/s.R&P Partners (advocates & notaries) had replied on behalf of Standard Chartered Bank. However, we have also sent a reply to their notice on 5th June 2008 and have not received any reply as yet.

I am attaching the following documents with this letter for your reference,

          1. Letter intimating Dishonor of Cheque

          2. Copy of bank statement as of 31st March 2008

          3. Copies of the dishonored cheque

          4. First Notice sent to the Bank on April 22nd 2008

          5. Reply received from the Bank on May 29th, 2008

          6. The reply sent by our advocate on June 05th, 2008

In the reply from M/s.R&P Partners, sent on behalf of Standard Chartered Bank Ltd, the bank have stated in notice that they do not verify cheques of smaller denominations and hence out of 3 cheques, 2 got dishonored and one for Rs.471 got cleared. I was shocked to know, who are they to decide what is smaller and what is greater. It is my money with the bank, and the bank acting has custodian of my money is suppose to verify the smallest of the amount for that matter even a cheque of rs.1/- has to be verified and the bank authorities have no authority to deny their duties and responsibilities for their clients money.

Also, the bank have stated in the notice that if I had informed them earlier that the cheques have been issued to LIC, they would have honored the same. I believe it is not my duty to inform to whom and when do I need to issue a cheque. As long as, I have sufficient balance in bank account, I can issue cheques without need to be informing the bank or in that case getting their permission to issue cheque.

Also, the banks have asked the reason why I had issued cheques on 28th March and not before that. It is solely my decision to decide when I need to issue a cheque.

I am just astonished the way the banking authorities have replied to my notice and trying to prove that they were not negligent in executing their duties. I strongly believe that the banking authorities are unnecessarily prolonging the replies and are not paying any attention to the notice issued seriously.

I have also decided to go the media and get this message spread to general public so that they don’t get caught by such private banking rules and their negligence in duty.

I request your good self to have a look on the case and take an appropriate judgment on innocent consumers who are put to such a pain and agony for their own money.

Awaiting for a prompt and positive response from your good self.

          Thanking You,

          Yours Sincerely,

          Shantilal Jain

I have spoken to bank representative to cancel the card and to clear all balances on the card more than a year back. After clear communication from the bank I paid the remaining balance (INR 400) with the understanding that this would clear my accounts.

However, now the bank says I did not pay the amount in full and the total balance now due is around INR 4, 000. They are saying that I should have asked for the "full and final settlement" letter from the bank, but my argument is that they did not mentione about any such requirement at the time of the settlement.

My history with the bank is that I have cleared all the purchases made on the card in a timely manner ever since I have been their customer. And I have put my best effort to close the account with the bank by talking to their representative. However, I think, the bank is unreasonably asking me to pay such high amount for no fault on my part.

Please help me resolve this conflict with the bank.

            Regards,
            Archana.
Standard Chartered Bank is the most fraudulent company I have ever encountered. I have encountered a similar experience where they want me to pay the bills which I have already done.

Recovery agent goons employed by Standard Chartered bank for credit card nonexistence dues.
              ________________________________________________________________________________...
Yesterday I became a victim of your goons employed as recovery agent. I received a call at 4:22 pm threatening me with dire consequence for an alleged non-payment of outstanding. I was advised to speak to Mathur at a cell number immediately and report them back otherwise they can do anything to me. When I spoke to Mathur he asked me to deposit 14700/- . I told him that there are no dues against me. He said he does not want to listen and if in 30 minutes if I don’t deposit his men would reach my residence and I have face the music as they can do anything.
I rushed to your branch at Vasant Vihar branch where I maintain an Excel account with the bank. I contacted my Relationship Manager Ms.Nikita Wu and sought her help. She wrote a mail &spoke to Banglore to sort out the problem. It was told to her that by Wednesday she should get a reply. She advised me leave a cheque for 14700/- with her till she gets a reply. I handed over the cheque to her and informed to Mathur. He was again rough and threatened me. To that I made him talk Nikita but she failed. She advised that I pay up and later she would help in recovery.

              Dear Nikita,
Please recall our meeting about the problem I faced today. Thanks for your active interest and willingness to extend help on this issue.I am forwarding the mail where I explained the position on outstanding. I have four gold cards from ICICI, HSBC, CITI BANK and ABN AMRO BANK, MY RECORD HAS BEEN EXCELLENT-WITH THEM. I have an excel account with you with deposits more than 12 lacs. I am really shocked with the attitude and intimidating technique o[censored]sing an recovery agent and harrasing a customer who enjoys high repution with above banks being a member of HIN cient.I was threatened to pay 14700/-
I hope you would be able to help me.

              Dear Saritha,
I think nobody is getting into details and hence problem remains.Let us go back statement of 29 aug 2004.
previous balance 1966.97 against that i paid 2000 on 12/8 hence a credit of 33.07. The problem started just after.you levid a card fee of 750 and service tax there of. i did not agree. but i made against the bills of gymkhana and shreemaya total 3799 -33 =3766. a check of 3766 was debited to my bank account on 5/10.
In the next bill of 28/9 you reverse card fee of 750 and put a life time fee of 1699. again i did not agree to pay. but i pay for puspanjali bill of 1100 on 14/10.
so whatever you are showing as outstanding are toward card fee and its related charges on adhoc basis which i am not in agreement to pay.
you may please make all outstanding zero and send a nil statement for my record to continue with your card.
              happy new year

She spoke to my wife in my absence and made her go to depression and I fear she may be in a v delicate stage as she being very sentimental and cannot accept rude behavior. I fail to understand why standard chartered bank don’t meet me if they need to get money from me of so called pending from last 10 yrs and why are they using such dirty tricks to extract money from customers who have nothing to do with it. Scb MUST FOCUS ON BUSINESS NOT ( FEROTI), I urge your good management to please help take action against SCB urgently and such callers and put them behind the bars or they may kill us and then it may be too late to take even an action. Dear Sir/Madam,
Myself is Ajay Garg.I had a lifetime free credit card of standard charted bank ( card no was [protected] )till may 2005.I had a dispute with them at that time for not sending the statement on time & charged with heavy interest & penalties.I wrote to the customer care also on 13/12/2004 & after hearing all they had taken the payment of Rs.48499.23 on 14/12/04.I told them that i dont need the card in future.
After that also they sent me further dues for which i talked with them & they told me to settle it, i had to pay a sum of Rs.120.00 which i paid on 17/05/2005.I also returned the credit card by dropping it in their drop box as the customer care asked to do so, if the credit card is not to be used in future.
Now after more then 3 years suddenly i received a call from their settlement department stating that the card is still in use & the payment due is Rs.13885/-.
I would like to take this in your notice that during the last 3 years i was not in possession of credit card & also the bank did not sent me any outstanding bill. Also the bank did not made any correspondence relating to this.
Here i wants to ask the bank when i made the final payment of Rs.120/- & returned the card in may 2005 why they did not send me any outstanding bill or statements if the card was still in use & suddenly they call me after more then 3 years to pay huge amount of Rs.13885/-.Are they waiting for the amount to pile up with the huge interst & penalties.
I hereby request you sir to please help me in this matter as the settelment deppartment is harrasing me time to time.

                Thanks

                  To whomsoever it may concern

This is in regards to the manhattan card no [protected] which i am holding from past 2 years.
I have come to know that the due amount on my card is about 62000 and this card is in permanent deactivated state. From past 1.5 years i am not using this card instead i am paying about 3000 Rs on an average per month but i dont understand that my due always accumulates to Rs 62000 again.
Moreover i was informed that this card is deactivated and i have been issued a new card but this card has never reached me, however if the manhattan card is in deactivated state how is it that i am paying for this card and not the new card. Also i have been issued one more card Stand Chart Card no [protected], for which the balance due is about 62000 from the day i received this card and i am paying interest on this card also. That means for the amount of Rs 62000 i am paying double interest and the amount is never seen going down on any of the cards.
Whenever i call to customer care department i get confused replies and if they cannot reply they just answer in rude manner. Moreover the collections team also are very rude to this.
I am really disgusted withthe kind of replies i get and the calculations of the bank about the interest which i never understand. I am paying since last 1.5 years an average amount of Rs 3000 monthly which has accumulated to atleast Rs 54000 and has been paid back to the bank, still am on the same ground of debts of same amount. I want a solution to this and want to cease my card . May be the bank can convert all the amount to EMIs an amount of time so that i am sure that after that time i will have no sum of money accumulated on the Bank or this can be settled to some amount so that i can pay beck and get all my card ceased.
I am in a big confusion and hope that the bank could understand and help me out to solve this.

                  Sir,

i m totally dissatisfied by this card. it has harrassed me in such a manner that i will not forget this for life. if am found wrong i will not only pay the disputed amount but also whatever u say.

the DSA tempted me to take this card by saying that there is a free shirt offer. subsequently a bill was raised.on contacting your call center they asked me to return, which was done by me immediatly. this was also confirmed to me that yes the shirt has been received.

subsequently i called several times when i received the statements and everytime i was assured that it will be sorted out. after that i stopped getting any statement and i forgot the dispute also.

Now when i applied fpor home-lone thay said my name is in the defaulters list and so cannot be granted loan.

                  Please look into this.

I am with the view that no card of standard chartred should should be availed by anybody and standard chartred should be banned in India for doing all these wrong things to the cutsome. I have the Platinum card of Stanc
Instead of paying blindly for 1.5 yrs you should have kept an eye on your statements.
                  This would not have happened.

My Account no is *******4870. I had applied for a new Debit card to be sent to me at my home on 28th june 2008. But the card has been sent to the vasant Vihar Branch even after clarifiying to the phone banking executives that it needs to be delivered to my home address. The branch is nearly 30 Kms. away from my home and why would I be making such a request.

Therefore, when I requested customer care to listen to all the call conversations that I had with their phone banking officers after 28th June 2008, I received no solid reply. I confirmed them many a times that the card needs to be sent to my home but the request fell into deaf years.

Therefore, I have to move to tht branch to collect the card and had to spend 4hrs and nearly Rs 300.

Never seen such a ignorant and disorganised banking in my career. You have been a real disappointment.

I plan to move to RBI.

                      Dear Madam,

I was a user of Credit Cards as per numbers below :

                      1. [protected]
                      2. [protected]
I have had done a full and final settlement on 2002 vide your letter dated 30th April'2002 with Ref No:JE/APR/385/2.
Issued By Stan Chart Bank, (On my one of my visits to Stan Chart at Phoenix Mills Compound, Lower Parel, Mumbai)

SHOCKINGLY, One month back i came to know (When I called up Customer Care) that an amount equivalent to Rs.1319.27 was still showing as an outstanding against one of my credit card number [protected] .

I was not aware that this amoount was pending, as there was NO COMMUNICATION FROM THE BANK STATING THAT THE ABOVE AMOUNT WAS PENDING. HOW SUCH AN EXISTENCE O[censored]NPROFESSIONAL PROCESS FROM A PROFESSIONAL BANK; WHICH FRUSTRATES ME FURTHER.

I informed the customer care that i have already made the full and final settlement (as per details above). I then "begged" for zeroing my credit card account.

They asked me to fax the Full and Final Settlement letter with Kind Attn as "ZEROISATION OF CREDIT CARD A/C".
Moreover, I faxed to the Customer Care and all time I got the "expected"
(Since i tried numerous times since 3-4 YEARS I MEAN YEARS, then finally gave up faxing) reply THAT THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE FAX AS MY FULL AND FINAL SETTLEMENT LETTER.
I was left with NO OTHER OPTION TO MAKE THE requisite payment of Rs.1435/- (Inclusive of other charges - Bank Visit etc)., WHICH I DID "PROMPTLY" at Stan Chart, Chembur Branch, Mumbai on 12th May'2008.

I therefore requested the customer care on 12th May'2008 (Ofcourse!!After making the requisite payment of Rs.1435/-) itself that please update your records and issue me a certificate stating that "I do not owe any money to the bank" (or ZEROISATION OF MY CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT )

Eventhough i made calls to the bank, but unfortunately no care for customers.

Now iam tired through all means and iam left with only option to request(or"plead") or beg to issue me the NO-Dues letter from Stan Chart that i owe no money to Stan Chart (ZEROISATION OF ACCOUNT LETTER)

Hope so, the Bank takes a serious view of this matter.

Anticipating this service from you, so that my perception about the bank changes favourably.

                        Dear Sir/Madam,
I had made a full outstanding payment of my Standard Chartered Credit Card about 4-5 months back and asked for a deactivation of my card. I stopped receiving monthly statements at my address. Last week, I received a call from the Standard Chartered collections department and they are asking me to pay Rs.3900. After asking for details, they said that there was an outstanding of Rs.800(which was not there when I made the outstanding payment) which has added up with interest to Rs.3900. They called me after 4-5 months all of a sudden. I want to make an official complaint against against the company. Please let me know how I should go about this.

                        Regards,
                        Aman Bedi

Sub : Outstanding dues under my credit card No. [protected]

                          Dear Sir,

With deep regret and heart left annoyance I like to lay my problem regarding Standard Chartered Bank credit card facility bearing No. [protected] as cited above. I had a small amount of loan of Rs. 5000/= and till September 2005 I had tried to pay it full by instalment through the Agency of Standard Chartered Bank Kolkata namd Credit Controls, A/29, Ramkrishna Upanivesh, Calcutta 700032. At that time I was told that my loan amount has been squared up and there were no dues against me but no settlement letter came to me. From then on I made no purchase or withdrawal from my card and my card facility was closed. But after a long period of 3 years, on 23.082008 the Bank authority has sent me a letter (Xerox copy attached) to my office address that I have an outstanding dues of Rs.42420/= and I have to repay it or settle it within7 days, to adopt legal action against me otherwise. As advised, I made a call to the Bank authority and One Miss Bandana received my phone call. She accused me that I am a cheat and I do not accept any letter in my home address or office address and do not attend their phone call also. Now my question is that, if I do not accept any letter in my office address, how this letter came to me and how could I receive it. She did not want to pay any heed to my request and said that I have to pay 50% of the outstanding dues immediately to settle the case, if not, I must remain prepared for any adverse position. Then I went to the office of M/s Standard Chartered Bank, Bank Card Customer Service Centre, 19, Netaje Subhas Road, 1st Floor, Kolkata 700001 and see Miss Bandana to consider my case. I also told that it presumes the amount is hypothetical and demanded the debit / credit month wise statement to verify my dues. She became very much furious and told me that if I want so, I have to pay Rs.100/= for per month statement that means for 3years details I have to pay Rs. 3600/= or more. After a long conversation she abruptly reduced my outstanding dues to Rs.15000/= and asked to pay it in one shot otherwise She will take me to LOK ADALAT. Now I am residing in my new address and closed my home telephone fearing of their dirty and abuse language and behaviour. At present I am in deep financial problem with my ailing aged father and only college going daughter. So it is not possible to repay the loan as the madam of M/s Standard Chartered Bank Kolkata demanded. Not only that, they are keeping me in dark about the details of my dues.

In this circumstances, I have no other way but to highlight the case to you, so that I can get any way to get relieved from this problem of credit card and hypothetical dues as demanded by M/s Standard Chartered Bank Kolkata.

I was told to move from Gold card to titainium card with below benefits which are not true ... as we get only 2.5 % off on petrol and 1 % on other things ... which is you will have to spend atleast 3-4 lacks to get that fees back which you paid to them during joining them ... And I was told that I can get back to my normal card if I dont like titainium card but that also didnt happen ...Now I am told to pay first fees of 2000 and then disconnect the card...

                                Hi Sir / Madam,

This is Devaraj Ghatualo working as software professional in reputed MNC in Hyderabad. Since yesterday i.e., 2nd of July 2008 I am getting telephonic harassment calls from some numbers +[protected] / 72 and +[protected] and they were telling that they issued a credit card on my name 6 year back and I need to pay around Rs. 1, 90, 000/- to them. Also they are abusing very badly in Hindi / English language to me, to all of my family members who located in Orissa, surat and also my office colleagues.

When I asked them to provide me proof of identification which I have provided at the time of apply for the Credit card and details of transactions made on the card from the day one. They are saying we don’t have that information but you have to pay the amount anyhow?

Most important is they are calling to all my relatives and abusing with nasty languages. I have called Bank, so they told there is a card issued on my name but we don’t have any details. I am alone here with my wife. I am scared of that they may come up to my home and I don’t know what will happen if I go to police too.

Please help and advice me to sort out the issues.

                                Regards,
                                Devaraj

                                within 90 days .
After 100 days they called me that there will a police case and case had filed immidiately u pay 3000 against the loan .And i paid the amount.

To avoid the unneccary problem i paid the entire amount 31000/- demand draft at kanpur .
Now after 4 years , standard chattard bank had called me and harrassing me , saying your outstanding is 48000/-.
Also the standard chattard bank saying that out standing is 48000/- and as it is old case u pay 28000/-.
Again when discussed with the bank people that I could not pay the amount , thepeople are harassing me .
Also called my wife and the bank people are saying that ur husband has stolen the money from bank.
And the police will come and take both of you and ur husband to the police station.
So my wife had made 3000/- rs demand draft on 11 th nov 2009.dd no -113715 .
And courried to the standard chattard bank.Gurgaon through madhur courrier.

And informed the bank about the payment.
I requested to the bank that maximum I can pay 10000/- rupees and that will be in parts only .now i have paid 3000 and rest amount will be sent in evry month.

Tomorrow the bank person from phone-[protected] mr saroj is harrassing in my family tomy old father and my wife.
When I am saying the amount 3000/- already paid and i can pay 7000/- in nxt 3 month, they are threatening me and NBW has been issued.

Hence i have heard that consumer forum has been formd , i thought i must inform the same to consumer forum.

one thing i would like to know
1- why the bank had not infor i am for 5 years?
2- why the bank is charging me 48000/- only on the interest which i had not asked the loan.
3-and how can bank harrass my father and wife that i have stolen money from the bank.
4- when i am saying i will clear rest 7000/- within next 3 months, they are telling to drag me to police station within a week?

now i request please advise me in this matter.

                                thankx and regards.

                                subhash panda.
please see the private banks are first request for the credit card and after that threatening the people.

Standard Chartered first makes you fill a form to give you credit card with no annual fees. Once the credit card application is filled and card is in the mail, they call you and let you know that there will be Rs. 250 administration fees and if you spend 500 Rs. in 30 days, they will refund the money i.e Rs. 250 administrative fees.

Try spending Rs. 500 and see if you get automatic refund! You won't! I paid up the money and tore off the card!

I had applied for SCB card in 1999, i used this card for approximate 2-3 Years. But some late Charges were levied on me without a fault of mine. I escalated the issue. Finally, they agreed to revert the charges and i decided to discontinue my relation with bank. Recently, i got to know i am black listed by SCB in 2003( Name was not mentioned, but i could make out by Creation Date). Which is really embarassing and it had given bad name to me and my parents

Standard Chartered Bank — Undue charges

I was holding Stanchart Credit card during[protected]. In the end, my monthly statement showed some internet transaction of about Rs. 2200/- which I had not incurred. I communicated this to the bank and requested them to reverse the debit as it was wrongly debited to my credit card account.

Thereafter bank neither reversed the debit nor provided any kind of explanation for the charged debited to my account. Frustrated, I requested closure of my credit card account and refused to pay the wrongly debited amount.

Nine years down the line, I approached, State Bank Of India for Home loan. SBI checked my credit report with CIBIL. (Third Party agency that provided credit report of individuals). My credit report showed unsettled amount of about Rs. 39, 000 against above mentioned transaction. I was told that unless I settle this account Stanchart will not clear my name from the CIBIL report.

On approaching Stanchart over, mail, toll free number, We mail I was further informed to pay over 42, 000 for getting NOC.

Since I had already committed for purchase of flat, I had no option but to pay this unjustified amount and get NOC from Stanchart.

This episode gives feeling to consumers that you will have to pay everything demanded by bank evenif the transaction is not made by you. If you refuse to pay, they will spoil your credit report and would make all loans impossible for you.

I have sent mail to Omsbudman of Reserve Bank of India but have not received any response so far from them.

May I request proper advice from other consumers in this regards?
